'Trump gets shot and now I'm trending': Rapper 50 Cent puts Trump on 'Get Rich or Die Tryin'' album cover

Hours after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on Saturday, Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson paid tribute to the former president at a concert in Boston.Jackson performed his song "Many Men (Wish Death)" in front of a huge reproduction of the cover of his 2003 debut album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." In the image, which features the rapper standing defiantly behind a pane of glass partially shattered by a bullet, Jackson's head had been replaced with Trump's. "Many Men," the third single from that album, describes Jackson's criminal past and an infamous incident in which he almost died after being shot nine times. Jackson also posted the image on X, with the comment, "Trump gets shot and now I'm trending." Fans quickly responded with memes of their own, often playing "Many Men" over images and videos of the current presidential candidate narrowly escaping death. — (@) 'I see them identifying with Trump. ... Because they got RICO charges.'As he has aged, 50 Cent has become less inclined to be bipartisan, often showing support for policies he approves of and vocally decrying policies he opposes. In October 2023, Jackson posted a picture to Instagram of President Biden relaxing on the beach with the caption, "Hey Joe get the f*** up, we in trouble man!"The rapper and entrepreneur is from Queens, New York — as is Trump — and has also commented on New York politics. In a since-deleted Instagram post, Jackson shared a screen capture of an article regarding a $53 million program for illegal immigrants in New York City. The post had the caption: "WTF Mayor Adams call my phone, I don't understand how this works. Somebody explain."50 Cent even dared to say that he felt black men have been identifying with Trump since he was hit with felony charges."We're heading into another election, so have you made a decision?" a reporter asked him in early June 2024."I'm not sure how to answer that, that question, to be honest with you," 50 Cent responded."What do you see is the significance of African American men in this election?" the reporter then asked."I see them identifying with Trump. ... Because they got RICO charges," he answered.RICO refers to Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, a charge that is typically used by law enforcement to charge groups or individuals believed to have committed crimes over a long period of time.Jackson is one of the latest celebrities to join the mass exodus from Hollywood and, to a greater extent, California. The 49-year-old recently announced he would be opening a movie studio in the deep south, specifically Shreveport, Louisiana, in an effort to tell unique stories and for "fostering talent." 'Don't miss Trump next time': Jack Black and his bandmate blasted for 'wish' during concert after failed assassination

Kyle Gass — Jack Black's partner in their band Tenacious D — offered a pointed "wish" from a concert stage over the weekend after the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump: "Don't miss Trump next time."During the band's concert in Sydney, Australia, video shows Black singing "Happy Birthday" to Gass onstage as a birthday cake is presented to him. Black then tell Gass to "make a wish."Reaction to Gass' 'don't miss Trump next time' statement seemed decidedly negative under one video posted to X.With that, Black's bandmate waits a few seconds and says, "Don’t miss Trump next time," before blowing out the candles. Black replies, "Thank you!"It sounds as though the audience's reaction on one clip was mostly laughter and applause. Indeed, Yahoo News said one crowd member remarked, “You could hear a couple of ‘oohhs’ — like 'too soon' sort of vibes — but the vast majority was laughter." The outlet said numerous fans praised Gass’ comment while others criticized the "bad joke."Reaction to Gass' "don't miss Trump next time" statement seemed decidedly negative under one video posted to X:"Wow f*** those guys," one commenter stated."That's disgusting @jackblack you support assassination attempts?" another user asked."Jack Black supporting assassination attempts on former presidents as well as far left radical extremism," another commenter said. "Shocker.""Yea it’s super funny to see an ex-president have an assassination attempt on him," another user reacted sarcastically. "Such a weird world we live in.""You know, I didn't care when Jack Black endorsed Biden. He can have that opinion. This is too far though. I hope he apologizes," another commenter wrote."They say Trump is bad, but these are the real evil people," another user opined."We know who this clown is and where his loyalties lie, and it's not America!!" another commenter declared.Black as of Monday afternoon has not mentioned Gass' comment on X. The X account for Tenacious D also has not mentioned it as of Monday afternoon.AllMusic describes Tenacious D as a Los Angeles-based "comic rock duo formed by actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass."Like Blaze News? Splinter Cell meets Hotline Miami in Intravenous and it’s free to keep

Splinter Cell is a game that has a huge amount of influence on gaming and one whose absence is felt keenly. It’s been 11 years since the last game came out and even then the series was slowly becoming a shadow of itself. Thankfully some games are keeping the stealthy torch quietly lit, with Intravenous and its upcoming sequel being two titles that are doing their best to continue in Splinter Cell’s fine tradition. With the second game coming soon the first is now free - but you’ll have to act very fast if you want to grab it. YouTube Music tests AI playlists tailored to what you want to hear

Illustration by Alex Castro / The Verge YouTube Music is testing a new feature that lets you use AI to generate a playlist. In a statement to The Verge, YouTube spokesperson Jessica Gibby said that Premium users in the US will be able to create a custom playlist by “describing exactly what they want to hear.” As shown in screenshots obtained by 9to5Google, the feature could surface a chat UI that you can use to enter a description or choose from prompts like “catchy pop choruses” or “upbeat pop anthems.” It will then generate a playlist based on your description. Spotify has a similar feature that lets Premium users generate playlists using AI. GIF: YouTube Here’s how YouTube’s new “sound search” will work. Gibby says YouTube Music is also rolling... The FBI says it has ‘gained access’ to the Trump rally shooter’s phone

Image: Kristen Radtke / The Verge The FBI has successfully broken into the phone of the man who shot at former President Donald Trump at Saturday’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. “FBI technical specialists successfully gained access to Thomas Matthew Crooks’ phone, and they continue to analyze his electronic devices,” the agency said in a statement on Monday. The search of the subject’s residence and vehicle are complete. The FBI has conducted nearly 100 interviews of law enforcement personnel, event attendees, and other witnesses. That work continues. The FBI has received hundreds of digital media tips which include photos and videos taken at the scene and we continue to review incoming tips. We encourage anyone with information that may assist with the ongoing... Continue reading…
