At least one person was shot and killed during an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Saturday at a political rally in Pennsylvania in which the suspected gunman was also “neutralized,” according to the U.S. Secret Service. In a statement, the U.S. Secret Service said that “a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.” “US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased,” the statement said. “US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated. One spectator was killed, two spectators were critically injured. The incident is currently under investigation and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of investigation.” A man who attended the rally and identified himself as a doctor told local media: “I heard the shots. I thought it was firecrackers to begin with.” The doctor said that people were screaming “He’s been shot. He’s been shot.” He said that he rushed over to help the person. “I said, I’m an emergency department physician. Let me help you,” he said. “The guy had spun around was jammed between the benches. He had a headshot here. There’s lots of blood and he had brain matter.” ER doctor was in the crowd. He said the victim he saw was covered in bl—d with a head wound, brain matter coming out. He said that a woman also appeared to be shot in the arm. Photos captured the chaos that ensued after former President Donald Trump was shot during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. The sounds of shots rang out as Trump grabbed around his neck area and he quickly dropped to the ground as he was instantly swarmed by Secret Service agents. After he got up, he raised his fist and signaled to the crowd to “fight” as the Secret Service rushed him off stage. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said that Trump was “fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.” He added that Trump “thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act.” In a post to Truth Social, Trump said he was shot in the ear. Three of former President Donald Trump’s children released statements and posts online following the apparent assassination attempt on their father during a campaign rally on Friday. Trump got shot at the rally in Pennsylvania and Secret Service agents rushed in to protect him. The former president left the rally with a bloody ear.
