The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) sent out a memo, exclusively obtained by The Daily Wire, warning against the “colonial settler mythological” presentation of Thanksgiving and urging staff members to instead reflect on the plight of Native Americans and celebrate “Truthsgiving.” The statement, sent out today and written by the director of the DHS Office of Indian Policy Angie DeLille, encourages staff to reconsider their usual Thanksgiving celebration and allocate money to “indigenous-owned businesses.” “As we approach this holiday, it’s an important time to reflect on the historical truths surrounding this holiday, particularly the impact it has had on Tribal and urban American Indian communities in Minnesota,” reads the opening of the memo, titled  “Thanksgiving offers opportunity for gratitude — and learning.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “While ‘Thanksgiving’ is often framed in its colonial settler mythological form, as a celebration of harmony and gratitude, it’s also important to acknowledge its deeper history – one that involves the displacement, violence, and enduring struggles that Tribal and native communities still face today,” it went on to read. Obtained by The Daily Wire DeLille, a social worker, has “an interest in improving cultural competency in the social work profession” and leads the state’s Office of Indian Policy, which is tasked with assisting with “the delivery of services to American Indians living both on and off the reservation.” Her memo goes on to propose an alternative to traditional Thanksgiving celebrations, noting that “my family has even started calling the holiday Truthsgiving!” before suggesting some ways that DHS staff can celebrate “truthsgiving.” “You can incorporate some action steps as a family of things you will do this year to positively impact native communities, you can commit to learning more about Native communities in Minnesota as a family, the possibilities are endless,” DeLille’s memo reads. “You can also honor native people in other ways over the weekend, such as supporting indigenous-owned businesses on Black Friday.” A representative of the Minnesota DHS confirmed the authenticity of the memo to The Daily Wire, explaining that it was “posted on our intranet site, which we use regularly to share news and updates for staff.” The memo is the latest attempt to deconstruct Thanksgiving by labeling it a celebration of oppression, all while attempting to replace it with an alternative holiday. In the Los Angeles Unified School District, for example, one lesson prepared by the Office of Human Relations, Diversity & Equity in 2021 taught that Thanksgiving was a celebration of violence against American Indians. One video featured in the lesson plan taught that the “true story of Thanksgiving” is that “after every killing of a whole village, these European settlers celebrated it and then called it Thanksgiving.”  The lesson plan also posited that instead of Thanksgiving, Americans should recognize a “national day of mourning.”

Eleven Republican attorneys general sued BlackRock on Wednesday, alleging it had engaged in a conspiracy with other massive asset managers to constrict the market for coal. Led by Texas, the attorneys general filed a suit on Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas alleging that BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street have worked together to push climate policies in order to artificially restrict the supply of coal. The states say that the financial giants, which control around $26 trillion, have violated federal and state antitrust laws. “Texas will not tolerate the illegal weaponization of the financial industry in service of a destructive, politicized ‘environmental’ agenda. BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street formed a cartel to rig the coal market, artificially reduce the energy supply, and raise prices,” said Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. “Their conspiracy has harmed American energy production and hurt consumers. This is a stunning violation of State and federal law.” The suit was joined by Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, West Virginia, and Wyoming. They argue that the asset managers have weaponized their holdings in coal companies to restrict the industry and raise prices. “Defendants have leveraged their holdings and voting of shares to facilitate an output reduction scheme, which has artificially constrained the supply of coal, significantly diminished competition in the markets for coal, increased energy prices for American consumers, and produced cartel-level profits for Defendants,” the suit says. “Competitive markets — not the dictates of far-flung asset managers — should determine the price Americans pay for electricity,” the Republican AGs added, saying that the companies pursued environmental, social, and governance policies that harmed investors’ bottom line. We make these investments on behalf of our clients, and our focus is on delivering them financial returns,” the company told The Daily Wire. “The suggestion that BlackRock has invested money in companies with the goal of harming those companies is baseless and defies common sense. This lawsuit undermines Texas’ pro-business reputation and discourages investments in the companies consumers rely on,” it added. BlackRock has long faced criticism from conservatives who have argued that it prioritizes leftist activism over customer benefit. The asset manager has been involved in climate-focused groups like the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, and Ceres.

About a year ago the witness had a scary experience & her husband didn't believe her. But one night recently he had a very similar experience and now they both wonder what they could have seen.I received the following account:"Our puppy was barking to go outside. It was about 4 or 5 AM. I took him out back and stood on the steps of our deck because I didn't want my feet to get wet. My dog was doing his when I looked up and saw something across the yard.It was slowly walking toward me, one step at a time, and its eyes were super reflective of my phone's flashlight. I thought it was a deer but its eyes were so tall and staring straight at me. And it wasn't running away but walking closer. I hurried the dog up and we ran inside.I have recurring night terrors so at first, my husband thought it was just that. But I was crying and shaking and could barely talk about it. He told me it was probably a deer but I wasn't convinced. I refuse to take the dog out after midnight, though.Recently, early one morning at about 5 AM, the dog was barking and my husband took him outside. Once again, my husband stood on the deck stairs. He didn't have his glasses, but he said when he looked up, he saw something tall standing in the forest part of our backyard. He said he saw it walking slowly like it was almost gliding. And he said as soon as he noticed it, he got a nosebleed.My husband is typically prone to nose bleeds but hasn't had one since the season changed. He said he wanted to get a closer look but felt like he needed to go inside instead, like an instinct, so he ran in.My husband is a zookeeper and he isn't really afraid of animals. He works with giraffes and elephants and says this creature was definitely bigger than a deer. We've been trying to search for what else it could be, but are coming up with nothing. A Galloway Township, NJ witness contacted me about the possibility that the Jersey Devil exists. He has heard and seen various unusual phenomena over the years.I received the following information:"Hi. I’ve lived in South Jersey my whole life, born and raised. I live about 20 minutes from Galloway Township/Pine Barrens. Also 20 minutes from Leeds Point, aka the birthplace of the Jersey Devil. I live just about 20 minutes from the trail that leads to the old Leeds house. My backyard is all forest. Not the Pine Barrens but I do live in a wooded area. I’ve seen and heard plenty of creepy things in my 33 years of living here. My Ring doorbell at the time caught something on camera. One time it did in fact look like the Jersey Devil, the other time it looked like a pale crawler, crawling out from under my pool deck.I’ve heard unnatural sounds come from the woods. Like a sound that a human or animal can’t make. Or a sound that doesn’t belong. Like a pig squealing. Trust me, no wild pigs here in South Jersey unless they’re on a farm and I don’t live near a farm. My dad has heard screeching coming from the woods while out in the middle of the night tending to the pool. Now my dad is a no-nonsense, retired US Army veteran who doesn’t believe in the paranormal. This past summer that all changed when he heard something “ungodly” in the woods. Plus he saw what I caught on the Ring so he is not a believer that something is out there.I’ve found hoof prints in the snow, not regular deer hoof prints. Hoof prints that were walking as if the “deer” were bipedal, and with a huge stride. Like a couple feet apart. I’d follow them and they’d just disappear into the woods or as if it just flew away. When I was a teenager, at one of our family parties my cousins and I were in the pool and we all saw red eyes watching us from the woods. My one cousin and I were in the jacuzzi (different times) and again saw the red eyes. I never ran so fast into my house in my life.Anyway, I could go on. I’ve had plenty of experiences. The plus side to all this is that whatever it is out there, doesn’t seem to bother us. I do believe in the Jersey Devil, and all things paranormal. I believe I’ve encountered him a few times, seen his hoof prints, and maybe even caught him on my Ring. I always say I don’t really mind he’s out there. Because if he really is and that’s what I’ve seen, he doesn’t ever bother us or me.That goes for anything that may be out there (that isn’t an animal). Sure, we hear things and catch glimpses of things or see eyes watching us, but, so far, it has never escalated further." CNOTE: I contacted the witness, wondering if he had recorded any of the Ring camera captures. Unfortunately, he has not, but he does plan to install recording capabilities in the future, including another security camera. Hopefully, this may result in decent evidence.
