They're so close to getting it -- and yet still so far. Transgender activism appears to be going through a facelift in the aftermath of President-elect Donald Trump's resounding Election Day victory -- and the massive repudiation of far-leftism that Trump's win entailed. BREAKING: Banks Grapple with Over Half a TRILLION in Paper Losses

In a financial landscape rocked by fluctuating interest rates, U.S. banks are currently holding an estimated $515 billion in unrealized losses on their investment securities. Gee, do you think that could be a problem? Here’s what it looks like visually — and that is one heck of a nasty chart: BREAKING : U.S. banks are now grappling with a whopping $515 billion in unrealized losses. To put it into perspective, that’s over 8x higher than during the 2008 financial crisis. Probably nothing. pic.twitter.com/FjdLDh6iAI — Jacob King (@JacobKinge) November 25, 2024 Remember how bad 2008 was? Now look at 2008 on that chart and it’s only a small BLIP compared to what we face right now. But what does this mean for the average person, and why should we care? Let’s break it down in layman’s terms… The Unrealized Losses Phenomenon: Imagine you bought a bond when interest rates were low. Now, fast forward to today, where interest rates have climbed steeply due to efforts to combat inflation. Your bond, which pays a fixed rate, is now less attractive because newer bonds offer higher returns. If you were to sell your bond today, you’d have to do so at a lower price than what you paid, reflecting this drop in value due to higher market rates. This difference between what you paid and what it’s worth now is what we call an ‘unrealized loss’. Why It’s Happening: Interest Rate Hikes: The Federal Reserve has been raising interest rates to tackle inflation, which has inversely impacted the value of existing fixed-income securities like bonds. When rates go up, the price of bonds goes down. Bank Investments: During times of low interest rates, like during the initial stages of the pandemic, banks invested heavily in long-term bonds, expecting to earn a steady return. However, with the Fed’s rate hikes, these investments are now worth less on paper. The Big Picture: Not Immediate Cash Losses: These are ‘paper losses’ because banks don’t realize these losses unless they sell the bonds before maturity. If held to maturity, the banks will still get back the full amount, minus interest paid out over time. Potential Impact: While banks aren’t in immediate danger, these unrealized losses can affect their capital ratios, potentially influencing their ability to lend or forcing them to seek other funding if depositors start withdrawing money en masse. Regulatory Concerns: The FDIC and other financial watchdogs keep a close eye on these figures. A significant increase in withdrawals could force banks to sell assets at a loss, turning unrealized losses into realized ones, which could strain their financial health. Here’s more on the story, from Forbes: Driven by the Federal Reserve’s aggressive interest rate hikes, banks faced a staggering $515 billion in unrealized losses on investment securities, according to the latest quarterly report from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. While the figure is daunting, it’s a slight reprieve compared to previous quarters, when losses soared beyond $600 billion. To contextualize this setback, consider the pre-2022 era of stability. Banks consistently reported average quarterly unrealized gains of $20 billion from 2008 to 2021. However, a significant shift occurred when the Fed initiated a series of interest rate hikes to combat inflation. Higher interest rates caused the value of bonds and other fixed income assets held by banks, which were issued during a long period where interest rates hovered near zero, to plummet. Unrealized losses on investment securities once again topped half a trillion last quarter.FDIC These losses reverberated throughout the industry, leading in part to the demise of institutions like First Republic, Signature Bank and Silicon Valley Bank. Already, there have been more bank failures in 2023 than in any year since 2020, according to FDIC data. Look, I can’t tell you what to do, I’m not a financial advisor. But me personally? I have a big chunk of my assets in crypto and another big chunk in precious metals. I keep as little as possible in the banks. That’s just what helps me sleep best at night. Here’s more on gold: Here’s Why Central Banks Are Buying All the Gold They Can — And What YOU Can Do! For the last year, central banks across the globe have been buying up as much gold (and often silver) as they can acquire without raising alarm bells. Now, we see why. The recent bank runs and ongoing collapse of the U.S. banking system was anticipated by the “elites” and the central bankers who run things behind the scenes. They saw it coming and knew the best way to protect their assets was through physical precious metals. If you’ve been waiting for me to bring you a solution about what YOU can do to protect yourself and you’re family, I’m happy to introduce you to something I absolutely love! Precious metals. I just talked about precious metals this week with Bo Polny and now I’m bringing you a solution that you can utilize right away if you’re so inclined… A faith-driven, conservative precious metals company is currently helping Americans tap into the rising precious metals market through self-directed IRAs backed by physical precious metals. And while this service is not unique to Genesis, their adherence to Biblical stewardship of money makes them singularly qualified to receive a sponsored recommendation from this site. Unlike most companies offering similar services, Genesis deals only with physical precious metals. They do not offer “virtual” or “paper” gold or silver. With Genesis and their depositories, customers can see and touch the precious metals that back their retirement accounts. When it comes time to take distributions, Genesis customers can cash in some or all of their precious metals or have them delivered to their door. Central bankers aren’t slowing down. In fact, nations like China and even U.S. states like Tennessee are quickly but quietly buying up gold to back their own treasuries. When the writing on the wall is this clear, it’s understandable why these governments are moving quickly to get ahead of any potential economic catastrophes in store. Working with Genesis is the best way our readers can explore the physical precious metals market through self-directed IRAs. It benefits us as well when our readers work with this America-First company. Visit genesiswlt.com or call 866-292-0443 today. Don’t wait too long, we might have more bank failures right around the corner. You know what has NEVER “failed”? Gold.  Precious metals.  Indestructible. There’s a reason they call it “God’s money”. Ted Cruz: Republican Governors Need To Send All Illegal Aliens To Denver Mayor’s Home

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said this week that Republican governors needed to ship illegal aliens in their states to Denver after far-Left Denver Mayor Mike Johnston vowed to protect them from being deported after President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in. In an interview with a local publication, Johnston said he would deploy the Denver Police Department “stationed at the county line to keep [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers] out.” He went even further, warning of a “Tiananmen Square moment.” He also said that he was willing to go to jail to stop the deportations. Cruz reacted to the comments during the most recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE Cruz began: “So, the mayor of Denver has said, ‘We want illegal immigrants in our city. We will fight to keep illegal immigrants in our city. I don’t care that the voters don’t want it. I don’t care what Federal law says. I don’t care about the women being murdered, the women being raped, the children being assaulted.'” “I’m going to call right now for Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, for Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, and any other red state governor, to start sending buses to Denver, Colorado,” Cruz said. “I’m going to urge the state government of Texas to send every one of the illegals who comes into the state to Denver, Colorado, drop them off in front of the mayor’s residence.” “He wants them there. He’s willing to go to jail to fight for them to be there, fine,” he continued. “We will send you the Venezuelan gang members to your city. And let’s see, you know, I’m going to predict right now the residents of Denver aren’t going to like this.” Pam Bondi as AG, plus Biden Burning the House Down on the Way Out-Opening the Border & Trying to Start WW3.https://t.co/ljnu02mh1S pic.twitter.com/iVdCSjplWP — Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) November 25, 2024

Deion Sanders To Give Travis Hunter His Thorpe Award After Hunter Gets Snubbed

Colorado Buffaloes head football coach Deion Sanders slammed the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award on Tuesday after it snubbed two-way Colorado star football player Travis Hunter from its finalist list. Hunter, who starts at both wide receiver and cornerback for the 8-3 Buffaloes, is the heavy favorite to win the Heisman Trophy heading into the final weeks before the winner is announced on December 14. The latest odds in betting markets have Hunter at -1,000 — giving him an implied 90.9% chance of winning the most prestigious award in college football, according to BetMGM. The award is given to the most valuable player in college football every year. The projected No. 1 NFL Draft pick for next year was named as a finalist for multiple awards on Tuesday, including the Maxwell Award (for best all-around player), Biletnikoff Award (for best wide receiver), Bednarik Award (for best defensive player), Hornung Award (for most versatile player) and Walter Camp Award (for most outstanding player). However, it was the one award for which Hunter was not a finalist that upset Sanders — who starred in the NFL and MLB at the same time. “How is Travis Hunter snubbed for the Jim Thorpe Award?” Sanders asked at a press conference. “You could have my award. You could have it back. Matter of fact, I’m gonna give him mine. I ain’t using it. It’s just sitting up there collecting dust. So Travis can have my Thorpe award because if this ain’t the most idiotic thing in college football that he’s not a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award and he is — I would say arguably but I don’t really think it’s an argument about this young man being the best defensive back in college football.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “He rarely gets thrown at,” he continued. “He’s won a game for tackling for us. And he’s always on point. So if you bring up the statistics I don’t know how in the world is Travis Hunter not a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award. They just pretty much messed up all the integrity of the award, and he can have mine.” Coach Prime on Travis Hunter not being a finalist for the Jim Thorpe award: “How is Travis Hunter snubbed by the Thorpe. You can have my award, you can have it back. In fact i’m gonna give him mine” pic.twitter.com/vHHUF24CzA — DNVR Buffs (@DNVR_Buffs) November 26, 2024 If Hunter wins the Heisman Trophy, he will become only the second defensive player in history to win the award. Michigan Wolverines cornerback Charles Woodson in 1997 was the only defensive player to win the Heisman. However, there is a key difference between Woodson and Hunter. Woodson only played situationally on offense and started on defense, whereas Hunter starts on both sides of the ball and plays nearly every play in the game outside of special teams. During Woodson’s Heisman year, he intercepted seven passes and made 43 tackles on defense while catching 11 passes for 231 yards and a receiving touchdown on offense. He also had 1 rushing touchdown. So far in 2024, Hunter has intercepted three passes and deflected breakups — despite rarely being thrown at — and had a game-winning forced fumble on the goal line against Baylor. On offense, Hunter has 82 catches for 1,036 yards and 11 touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown.

Vegan ‘Extremist’ Charged Over 2003 California Bombings Arrested In UK

An alleged vegan “extremist” suspected of being responsible for two bombings in the San Francisco area more than two decades ago was arrested in the United Kingdom, the FBI announced Tuesday.  Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, was arrested in Wales after 20 years on the run after he was charged with carrying out bombings in Emeryville and Pleasanton. San Diego was first indicted in July of 2004 and has been on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist List since 2009.  “Daniel San Diego’s arrest after more than 20 years as a fugitive for two bombings in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes, the FBI will find you and hold you accountable,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said. “There’s a right way and a wrong way to express your views in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way.” CAPTURED MOST WANTED TERRORIST#FBI Director Wray says Daniel San Diego's arrest after 20+ years as a fugitive for two San Francisco bombings shows the Bureau’s commitment to justice, stressing that violence is never the right way to express views. https://t.co/a759SMivCz pic.twitter.com/9C6MnUvKZI — FBI (@FBI) November 26, 2024 The bombing in Emeryville took place at the Chiron biotechnology corporation on August 28, 2003, and involved two bombs that went off within an hour of each other, according to the FBI. The attack in Pleasanton was at the Shaklee nutritional products corporation on September 26, 2003, and involved a bomb packed with nails.   While no one was injured or killed, authorities said that San Diego intended to target first responders with the second bomb at Chiron.  According to his FBI wanted poster, San Diego was connected to animal rights extremist groups. The radical organization, “Revolutionary Cells of the Animal Liberation Brigade,” took credit for the bombings and warned that more attacks were coming. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “It is time for this war to truly have two sides. No more will all the killing be done by the oppressors, now the oppressed will strike back,” the group said after the second bombing, according to the FBI.  San Diego, who was born in Berkeley, has a tattoo that reads “It only takes a spark” and another tattoo of “burning and collapsing buildings,” the FBI said.  “He is known to follow a vegan diet, eating no meat or food containing animal products. In the past, he has worked as a computer network specialist and with the operating system LINUX. San Diego wears eyeglasses, is skilled at sailing, and has traveled internationally. He is known to possess a handgun,” the wanted poster read.  A $250,000 reward was offered for any information that led to San Diego’s arrest.
