Blood and Ash Author Jennifer L. Armentrout is Pitching a Romantasy Reality Series

News The Key Blood and Ash Author Jennifer L. Armentrout is Pitching a Romantasy Reality Series By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on November 26, 2024 Credit: Rhododendrites, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Rhododendrites, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons Romantasy is so hot right now. So sizzling, in fact, that there’s a reality show in the works from Jennifer L Armentrout (pictured above), the author of numerous novels including the steamingly popular Blood and Ash series. According to Deadline, the proposed reality television show is called The Key and “mixes a challenge competition with romance” that’s set “in the world of fantasy storytelling,” whatever that means. Deadline continued: “The format sees fifteen contestants inhabit a [fantasy-themed?] village where they’ll live and compete in immersive, themed challenges for priceless keys. The keys are used to buy luxuries, woo potential romantic partners and build alliances, all in a bid to unlock a lifechanging fortune.” So a crossover of The Bachelor with Survivor, maybe? I dunno. “To create a show like The Key in which real people live out their own adventures in the Romantasy world that I love is very exciting,” Armentrout said in a statement. “I am looking forward to taking this next step into storytelling that blurs the lines between fiction and reality.” The project is backed by the disturbingly named Panopticon Media, and will be pitched for pickup next month by Mothership Media Consultancy, which is also a totally normal, non-threatening name for a company. “Jennifer has employed her legendary world-building and storytelling skills to craft an extraordinary reality format that combines romance, fantasy and adventure in a world we have never seen before in reality TV,” Hugh Wright, President at Panopticon said in the same statement. “The Key is pure escapist wish fulfillment that is sure to captivate her millions of fans and viewers around the world.” The project is still in its early days, so there’s no news yet on if/when it will make its way to a TV screen near you.[end-mark] The post Blood and Ash Author Jennifer L. 'I was living a double life': Breaking free from LGBTQ sin

Richard Matthews is a formerly gay influencer and speaker who was fired from his job after posting about his faith. Now, he’s sharing his testimony and how the Lord saved him from his sin — including his battle with a pornography addiction. “When you were 10 or 11, you were getting bullied and called feminine and gay because of how you talk. You decided to look it up on the internet to be like, ‘Why are people calling me this, what does this mean,’ and then sadly, that led you to being exposed to gay pornography,” Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable” comments. Matthews admits that he then became addicted to pornography and “kept it hidden.” “I wouldn’t say I had the desire to be in pornography, I didn’t necessarily have a desire to be in homosexual, same-sex relationships, but as I continued to become in agreement with the enemy, with that sin, the Bible said sin becomes iniquity,” Matthews tells Stuckey, adding, “Iniquity is repeated sin that becomes your identity.” After identifying as a homosexual for years, Matthews went into a recovery group at his church. “There I learned that the Lord loved me, because all this time, I thought the Lord hated me, and I thought I couldn’t amount to what he was asking me to do,” he tells Stuckey, noting that he was still battling with the “idea of maybe potentially being a gay Christian.” “Nothing was working, where my porn was wasn’t resolved, and I still had these desires and attractions,” he explains. “So I said a prayer in January of 2023, where I said, ‘Lord, I feel like I can’t change, and I feel like I can’t fully come to you and devote myself to you.’ I said, ‘If being gay and being Christian is not true, let me know and I’ll accept it.’” “When I said that to the Lord, I heard him tell me to come to him, and that’s what it says in Matthew, ‘Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,’” he continues. “And I’m so thankful that I heard him, and he was able to really give me a new heart and transform me and all of those desires and everything started to go away around March.” “I woke up one day like, I haven’t watched porn in two weeks, and so it was an act and a mercy and a grace and a miracle of God that he literally transformed my life and started to really transform my desires,” he adds. And it’s not just himself who Matthews is worried about. “People don’t really know that there is a spirit behind homosexuality, the agenda that is happening in our country and against our kids,” he explains, adding, “It’s not a new thing, it’s an old thing that has been talked about in the Bible, and so we have to overcome these principalities with the power of the Lord.” Want more from Allie Beth Stuckey? To enjoy more of Allie’s upbeat and in-depth coverage of culture, news, and theology from a Christian, conservative perspective, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Radical Maryland mayor vows to help illegal aliens fight Trump's deportation efforts using taxpayer dollars

A radical mayor in Maryland has pledged to devote taxpayer dollars to help illegal aliens living in his city fight President-elect Donald Trump's deportation efforts. On Thursday, Mayor Michael O’Connor held a press conference at city hall in Frederick, a city of 78,000 residents about 50 miles northwest of Baltimore. During the press conference, O'Connor vowed to stand firm on a number of left-wing issues, including protecting illegal aliens.'I'd rather our taxpayer money go towards American citizens.'As part of that pledge, O'Connor promised to earmark part of the city's budget to create a legal advocacy fund for illegal aliens, thereby "ensuring they have the legal support they need to stand strong and remain in this community they have chosen to call home."WBFF claimed that all of the Frederick residents who spoke to the outlet about O'Connor's remarks opposed the idea of taxpayers paying for attorneys for illegal aliens."I'd rather our taxpayer money go towards American citizens," said Rachel Pett."You break the law, it's just what happens, added Ryan Head, who noted that U.S. citizens in Frederick are not afforded the same luxury. "Nobody helped me pay for my attorney fees when I break the law. So, why should we be paying for theirs out of taxpayer money?"Taxpayer advocate David Williams likewise claimed that Frederick cannot "afford" the legal advocacy fund since it would deprive other municipal agencies of badly needed resources. "Taxpayer money should be going towards infrastructure and the basic needs of the community. This is not a basic need of a community of Frederick," Williams said.Rita Darko said that while she appreciates the contributions immigrants have made to her community, she is still "torn" about using public dollars to pay for their legal costs.State Delegate Jesse Pippy, who also chairs the Republican Party of Frederick County, called parts of O'Connor's speech "egregious" and "highly inappropriate," according to the Frederick News-Post.In response to a request for comment, O'Connor told WBFF: "This could support any resident in our community, and while we will never get everyone to agree on everything, working to support residents who may be fearful through trusted community partners is worth advocating for."The city council must first approve the fund before it can become a reality. None of the five members responded to WBFF's request for comment.Like Democrats around the country, O'Connor also promised that local law enforcement would not assist "outside agencies attempting to detain, deport, or remove" any Frederick residents. In addition to his remarks about illegal aliens, O'Connor vowed during the press conference to "stand unequivocally" for unrestricted abortion access and those who identify as LGBTQ+."Being a safe, inclusive community is a distinction I am immensely proud of, and our residents have my commitment that we will maintain the perfect score, and we will continue to be a safe, inclusive community for anyone as long as I am mayor," he said. These positions appear to stand in direct contravention to the teachings of O'Connor's religion.A biography for O'Connor listed on the city website makes several references to his Catholic faith. Not only did he attend a Catholic prep school and university, but he claims association with Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and to be a volunteer member of the Knights of Columbus. The Catholic church ardently opposes abortion and believes that all "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."H/T: Libs of TikTokLike Blaze News?
