525,000 Illegal Migrants Crossed Southern Border in Just 4 Months

Hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals descended on the U.S.-Mexico border between the time President Joe Biden declared there was nothing more he could do to stop illegal immigration and when he issued an executive order. Border Patrol agents made nearly 525,000 illegal immigrant encounters across the southern border in February, March, April and May, according to the latest data by Customs and Border Protection. Those were the four months between Biden claiming to the media on Jan. 30 that he had done “all I can do” unilaterally to stop the immigration crisis and the executive order he issued on June 4 that seeks to cap southern border crossings. “Mr. President, on the border … Have you done everything you can do with executive authority?” a reporter asked Biden on Jan. 30 before the president departed on Marine One. “I’ve done all I can do. Just give me the power,” Biden responded. “I’ve asked from the very day I got into office.” “Give me the Border Patrol. Give me the people—give me the people, the judges. Give me the people who can stop this and make it work right,” the president continued. Four months after those statements, however, the White House issued a presidential proclamation that largely suspended the entry of foreign nationals across the U.S.-Mexico border. The order stops the flow of migrants after the weekly average surpasses 2,500 daily crossings, and the suspension does not stop until two weeks after there has been a seven-day average of fewer than 1,500 daily encounters. Border Patrol agents made 140,637 apprehensions between ports of entry in February, 137,473 apprehensions in March, 128,893 apprehensions in April, and 117,906 in May. There were, in sum, 524,909 illegal migrant crossings in the months when the president maintained he could do nothing more about the border crisis. However, critics of the executive order note that it is full of loopholes. The order still allows 1.8 million illegal crossings annually, provides exemptions to unlawful migrants that cross at ports of entry with the CBP One app, and does not apply to unaccompanied minors or parolees. Additionally, those who face immediate medical emergencies and those who are deemed victims of a “severe form” of trafficking are also exempted from the order. An internal memo from Immigration and Customs Enforcement obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation reveals there are even further avenues for migrants to avoid being returned, such as making “credible fear” claims. Snowflake? The View’s Whoopi Goldberg Spits After Saying Trump’s Name

Representing ABC News well on Tuesday, The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg couldn’t keep her cool after former President Donald Trump’s name came out of her mouth. Often quick to all people on the right “snowflakes,” Goldberg quickly pretended to spit on the ground after realizing her grievous slip of the tongue. Ironically, it came after one of the other co-hosts opined about how Trump didn’t show respect for the presidency. The spitting fit came as they were previewing the upcoming CNN presidential debate later in the week. Co-host Sara Haines was going on about how amid Trump’s “bluster” everyone needed to remember to really listen, take him seriously, and take him literally.” Goldberg was trying to praise President Biden’s abilities as a debater when she accidentally said “Trump” instead of her usual “You Know Who” nickname for him: GOLDBERG: I don't think that we have to -- I think it would be remiss of us to not say, “Joe Biden knows how to do this.” HOSTIN: Yes. GOLDBERG: He knows how to do this. He's quite good at this, and, you know, you can't refute anything with him because he just -- when I say him, I mean -- BEHAR: He rambles, Trump. GOLDBERG: Trump. He tends to just -- uh. [Pretend spits]  The left-leaning audience applauded and were entertained by Goldberg’s over-the-top reaction to saying Trump’s name.     “Did you say his name?” staunchly racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin (the descendant of slave owners) wondered with a laugh. Goldberg suggested she was somehow tricked into saying his name by co-host Joy Behar. “I said his name. It was a trick and it made me do it. But I'm just saying that he  – that Biden knows what not to do,” she said “You can't refute that man, because he just spins and spins and spins. All you can really do is talk about what you do and how you do what you do,” she completed her previous thought. All of this came minutes after faux-conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin huffed about Trump not showing respect for the presidency: Right and I just wish we could get to a place where there was enough respect for the American presidency, you don’t have to respect the individual but the American presidency to not just casualty insinuate baselessly that the commander-in-chief is on drugs and it’s being echoed by members of Congress, who, again, I wish they had enough dignity and respect for the offices they hold. Our allies and adversaries are watching; we look like morons. This wasn’t the first time Goldberg pretended to spit on set. In 2022, she spit at the Austin American-Statesman (a local Texas newspaper) because they exposed the inaction of the Uvalde Police Department by releasing leaked video of them just standing around the hallways of the school and not trying to save the kids. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View 6/25/2024 11:04:38 a.m. Eastern ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: Right and I just wish we could get to a place where there was enough respect for the American presidency, you don’t have to respect the individual but the American presidency to not just casualty insinuate baselessly that the commander-in-chief is on drugs and it’s being echoed by members of Congress, who, again, I wish they had enough dignity and respect for the offices they hold. Our allies and adversaries are watching; we look like morons. (…) 11:07:51 a.m. Eastern SARA HAINES: What he said in all the debates– SUNNY HOSTIN: I get it. HAINES: – forecasted what he did. He also said he wouldn't necessarily recognize election results and that was foreshadowing. HOSTIN: Got it. HAINES: So I'm just saying, like, in the bluster, remember to really listen, take him seriously and take him literally. JOY BEHAR: How about give him a lie detector test! WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I don't think that we have to -- I think it would be remiss of us to not say, “Joe Biden knows how to do this.” HOSTIN: Yes. GOLDBERG: He knows how to do this. He's quite good at this, and, you know, you can't refute anything with him because he just -- when I say him, I mean -- BEHAR: He rambles, Trump. GOLDBERG: Trump. He tends to just -- uh. [Pretend spits]   [Laughter] FARAH GRIFFIN: But, can I mention one thing, because –  [Cheers and applause] FARAH GRIFFIN: Trump is out there – HOSTIN: Did you say his name? GOLDBERG: I said his name. It was a trick and it made me do it. But I'm just saying that he  – that Biden knows what not to do. You can't refute that man, because he just spins and spins and spins. All you can really do is talk about what you do and how you do what you do. You can’t –  BEHAR: But he should do it like this, like while Trump was gargling Lysol, whatever he was drinking, I was fixing infrastructure. (…)

White House denies involvement in Julian Assange deal

Julian Assange, 52, will likely soon return to his native Australia as a free man, but not because of President Joe Biden, a White House spokesperson said.Court papers released Monday night revealed that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who has spent more than a decade either holed up at an embassy or locked away in prison, had finally reached a plea deal with U.S. officials. In 2010, Assange had coordinated with Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to release information about U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.'There’s nothing to be gained by his continued incarceration and we want him brought home to Australia.'A few years later, Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison, but President Obama commuted his sentence before leaving office in 2017. Meanwhile, Assange languished at the Ecuadoran embassy in London, attempting to avoid extradition to Sweden on allegations of sexual assault. The statute of limitations on the sexual assault allegations — which Assange always denied — eventually expired, but Ecuador withdrew its offer of asylum in 2019, the same year the Trump administration indicted Assange in connection with the disclosure of U.S. military information. Assange then attempted to take refuge at the embassy but was arrested by British police and thrown in jail for skipping bail, the AP reported. He then remained behind bars for five more years until reaching the deal with U.S. officials. On Monday night, Assange reportedly flew from London to Saipan, the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth. He is expected to appear in a U.S. federal court in Saipan on Wednesday, when he will likely plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defense information and receive a sentence of time served.Assange is then expected to return to his family in Australia, where leaders are almost assuredly celebrating this sudden turn of events. Earlier this year, the Australian House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to urge the U.K. and U.S. governments to let Assange return home."Regardless of the views that people have about Mr. Assange’s activities, the case has dragged on for too long," Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at the time. "There’s nothing to be gained by his continued incarceration and we want him brought home to Australia."As the U.S federal government secured a conviction and Assange will likely soon have his freedom, both sides can credibly claim victory in this case. However, the Biden administration is not taking any credit for it."This was an independent decision made by the Department of Justice, and there was no White House involvement in the plea deal decision," said Adrienne Watson, a spokeswoman for the White House National Security Council. The New York Post sought comment on the subject from the DOJ but did not receive a response. The outlet also cited a source who "said they were unaware of what if any role Biden may have played in the final resolution of the case."Back in April, Biden told reporters that he was "considering" bringing Assange's case to a conclusion but did not comment further.Like Blaze News? Kasie Hunt shuts down interview with national press secretary for Trump campaign after she criticizes bias of CNN moderators

An interview with the national press secretary descended into a shouting match before Kasie Hunt shut down the interview after she criticized Jake Tapper and Dana Bash at CNN. Hunt accused Karoline Leavitt of attacking the CNN hosts who were scheduled to moderate the first presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden. 'You come on my show, you respect my colleagues. Period.' "It would take someone five minutes to Google Jake Tapper Donald Trump," said Leavitt, 'to see that Jake Tapper has consistently ..." "Ma'am, I'm going to stop this interview if you continue to attack my colleagues," interrupted Hunt. "I would like to talk about Joe Biden and Donald Trump who you work for.""Yes!" Leavitt responded. "If you are here to speak on his behalf, I can continue this conversation," Hunt continued. "I am stating facts that your colleagues have stated in the past," Leavitt replied. "OK, sorry guys, we're gonna come back out to the panel," Hunt interrupted. "Karoline, you are welcome to come back any point she is welcome to come back and speak about Donald Trump," Hunt continued. "And Donald Trump will have equal time to Joe Biden when they both join us now at early next week in Atlanta for this debate."The feud continues on XHunt appeared shaken up by the interaction, but she defended her decision later on her official social media account. "You come on my show, you respect my colleagues. Period. I don’t care what side of the aisle you stand on, as my track record clearly shows," said Hunt on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Leavitt fired back from her own account. "You cut off my microphone for bringing up the debate moderator’s history of anti-Trump lies," she wrote. "This proved our point that President Trump will not be treated fairly on Thursday. Yet he is still willing to go into this 3-1 fight to bring his winning message to the American people, and he will win."Leavitt also went on other shows and podcasts to press her accusation that Tapper had shown bias against Trump. "CNN is a propaganda network for the Democrat Party and for Joe Biden. They have pushed endless lies about President Trump," she said, "from [the] Russia hoax to the Charlottesville lie to the Hunter Biden laptop. They've covered for Joe Biden over the past several years."Some liberals praised Hunt for ejecting Leavitt halfway through their interview, but many on the right said she only proved the bias at CNN is real. The video of the argument was widely circulated on social media. The first presidential election is scheduled for 9 p.m. on Thursday on CNN and will be simulcast on other networks. Like Blaze News? The Riven remake is out now, already has a 95% rating on Steam

Playing Riven and Myst back in the day was an experience unlike anything else and is something that will probably never be repeated. As a verified old person who was there and even read the novels, it’s impossible to understate the buzz and excitement these obtuse, confusing puzzle games caused. Whispered conversations in school corridors about what to do with levers, no guides or walkthroughs to help, just the collective minds of a bunch of nerdy children all bashing their heads against puzzles. It was a unique time and while it may never be seen again, there’s a chance now to experience it in a different way as the stunning Riven remake has just launched.
