Boeing's Starliner spacecraft will launch two NASA astronauts to the International Space Station today (June 5) in the final test of the spacecraft's capabilities.

Roseanne Barr has a reputation for starting controversies, especially after the racist tweet against former President Barack Obama’s adviser, Valerie Jarett, calling her a product of the “Muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes.” She was immediately fired by ABC, and her revival show, Roseanne, was canceled just after the consulting producer Wanda Sykes quit. Barr tearfully apologized for her mean statement, adding that she thought Valerie was white; however, it was too late for a comeback. She also blamed the use of the sedative Ambien and her mental health struggles for her actions, but that was not all. She named co-star Sara Gilbert as the reason for her downfall, too. In Barr’s words, Sara’s response made things worse for her career, and she ended up “owning my work” alongside Tom Werner. She alleged that Sara begged her to come back to Roseanne and promised to protect her through her mental health problems. She accused the network of trying to kill her by pushing her to suicide after announcing their decision. She followed her rant with a statement, noting that she had forgiven them both. Barr apologized to the “wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet,” particularly John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf. Some actors come practically as a set; you can’t have one without the other. Martin Short and Steve Martin have certainly done plenty of projects independently, but the two comedians are pulled always together by the magnetic force of their friendship, which celebrates 40 years of respect, love, and—most importantly—laughter. 78-year-old Martin and 74-year-old Short first worked together in a film in 1986’s Three Amigos! followed by iconic performances in Father of the Bride. Most recently, they’ve been bringing the chaos alongside Selena Gomez in Hulu’s whodunit, Only Murders in the Building. Almost four decades into this creative, comedic camaraderie, Short has explored the essence of what gives their friendship such strong foundations and his hopes for the future. At this, Short emphasized, “Always with gossip.” This is exactly the trend both comedians hope to keep going for another 40 years. The two have been promoting Wells Fargo’s Active Cash Credit Card in ads and a series of shorter promotional videos, every bit of content feeling natural and lighthearted throughout. Once, Martin jested that he is able to “trick him” using their respective credit cards, explaining, “For example, the bill will come, and I say, ‘Let’s put both our credit cards — our Wells Fargo credit cards — so we could both get 2% cash back on the thing, so that we’ll split’ and then I remove mine. And then he pays for it and doesn’t realize it, but the problem is he gets the 2% and I don’t.” With ease, Short fired back, “The reality is that if we do split it, we agree on the tip, and I deliberately do $10 more.” The two have taken their friendship very seriously since the start, back when they were tasked with playing close friends in The Three Amigos! and so went to one another’s trailer to play Scrabble together. “And laughter is a great bonding mechanism,” said Short. “If you make someone laugh or they make you laugh, you want more of that. When the film wrapped, we started having dinners, the three of us and our wives. And it just continued on. UPDATED 6/5/2024 In the 1970s and 1980s, Richard Simmons was TV’s best known and most enthusiastic fitness guru. As a result of his success, not only did he manage to open and maintain a chain of gyms, but he also appeared on news segments, talk shows and had roles in a wide variety of TV series and movies. All of which led to the public’s concern over the fact he had disappeared for about a decade, with many fearing for his health and welfare. Earlier this year, he finally made some public statements, but leading up to them there was a feeling that something terrible had happened. This past January, he finally went on social media to provide an update to those who have been worried about him, noting, “I no longer have a manager, and I no longer have a publicist. I just try to live a quiet life and be peaceful. Thank you for all your love and support.” At the same time, he also came out against a biopic in development with Pauley Shore cast as him, exclaiming, “I have never given my permission for his movie. So don’t believe everything you read.” Since then, he’s made more frequent posts, but mostly with motivational messages. He also came out with one in March proclaiming that he was dying, and then elaborated. “Please don’t be sad. I am .. dying,” he wrote. “Oh, I see your faces now. The truth is, we are all dying. Every day we live we are getting closer to our death. Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to enjoy your life to the fullest every single day. Get up in the morning and look at the sky … count your blessings and enjoy.” To many, that was Richards Simmons being … well, Richard Simmons. A Look Back at the ‘Mystery’ of Richard Simmons It was in 2014 when he stopped all public appearances and some weird conspiracy theories began floating around that, in 2016, Simmons was being held hostage by his housekeeper. He did, however, appear on the news later on to deny these speculations. But when Simmons’ gym then closed without warning, people were, again, wondering if he was okay. And for 40 years, he took care of everyone but himself,” says Simmons’ spokesman Tommy Estey. And Simmons hasn’t shied away from speaking fondly of the people he’s helped. “Over the years, thousands came to laugh and sweat with me. I’ve dedicated my life to helping others feel better about themselves and they helped me to do the same. Thank you for always supporting and loving me,” he once said in a statement. The legal battle between Priscilla and Riley has lasted for about a year, but they now appear to have resolved the dispute. Priscilla Presley denied filing a lawsuit against Riley Keough – more inside the Graceland feud Instagram Amid Lisa Marie’s burial proceedings, rumors about Priscilla suing her granddaughter went viral online but she soon denied the claims, noting that she simply made a plea to the court. Instagram Priscilla’s decision to give up Graceland to Riley comes after a fraudulent lending company, Naussany Investments & Private Lending, tried to auction off the estate weeks ago. They claimed Lisa Marie had put down the property as collateral for an unpaid $3.8 million loan; however, Riley was swift to push back on their attempt.
