Sony Pictures Television is producing Pop Culture Jeopardy!, which turns the classic academic quiz show with three challengers into a team-based trivia game that touches on music, movies, culture, sports, celebrities, entertainment, and more. The series will be produced in collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge serving as the show’s writer and executive producer, confirming rumors reported earlier last year. Sam Altman teased ChatGPT's GPT-4o update as something that "felt like magic" to him. He also said that people would love this ChatGPT upgrade, and I think he was correct on both counts. Seeing ChatGPT hold a voice conversation with humans while looking at images was just mind-blowing. Add the human-like speech that ChatGPT now has, and you end up with a precursor to a personal AI assistant that's miles better than what Siri can do on the iPhone. As soon as I saw the demos, I was hooked. We are getting closer to a future of computing where voice will play a major role. AI will be at the center of it all, ready to answer questions about anything and hopefully help you control your devices. While we wait to get there, I really hope that ChatGPT becomes part of iOS 18 later this year. Rumors already say that Apple is in advanced talks with OpenAI about adding the chatbot to iOS 18. Rabbit unveiled the r1 AI gadget in early January, promising a device that can interact with apps instead of just answering questions and generating content. At the time, I already felt like that was functionality coming down the road to all smartphones. Once Rabbit launched the r1, it became clear the device was essentially an Android smartphone running a single "r1" app. Fast-forward to mid-May, Expedia announced an "AI-powered travel buddy" called Romie. As the name might suggest, this chatbot is supposed to help you with all your traveling needs, whether it's booking and canceling hotels, searching for attractions and securing tickets, or providing your loved ones with information about your itinerary. Romie is one of many AI offerings that will help kill the Rabbit r1. As a reminder, one of the features Rabbit demoed in January was booking trips by voice.
