With commencement season ramping up, some universities have decided to protect the rights of the vast majority of their students and put swift ends to the anti-Semitic/pro-Hamas mobs that were trying to ruin the special day their classmates had worked toward by calling in the police to break them up. But ABC’s Good Morning America took exception to their efforts and whined that police were using tear gas on the unruly crowds of terrorist sympathizers. “We’re going to turn now to the new clashes on college campuses across the country including the arrests just moments ago at the University of Pennsylvania,” co-anchor Michael Strahan clutched his pearls at the top of the segment. Correspondent Victor Oquendo put the focus on the University of Arizona and decried the cops’ use of tear gas, treating the situation as though the police gassed the crowd with chemical weapons of war: Let's start at the University of Arizona were they are gearing up for their graduation ceremony later today. This is the second time this month that chemical irritants have been used to disperse protesters on campus.     Along the spectrum of his reaction to the different campus news, Oquendo seemed to hype the mob at George Washington University who were “shutting down traffic and setting up tents” outside the home of the university’s president. “And this comes just one day after police cleared the encampment on campus there,” he added. He also didn’t seem to have a problem with the students of the University of Southern California having their commencement ceremonies canceled: And here in Los Angeles, the University of Southern California canceled the official graduation opting instead to what they called “a celebration” at the L.A. Coliseum. Students there instead of walking and getting their diploma onstage, they were treated to a drone and fireworks show. Over on NBC’s Today, foreign correspondent Richard Engle huffed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sat down with Dr. Phil for a “non-confrontational interview” and “took aim” at the students siding with terrorists. “You have a lot of ignorant people there whose sense of history, at best, goes back to breakfast, not even that,” the Prime Minister mocked them. Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) officially filed one article of impeachment against President Joe Biden on Friday for withholding weapons from Israel. Biden ignited controversy this week after threatening to withhold military weapons from Israel and essentially placing conditions on military aid, warning Israel not to invade Rafah, a major population center in southern Gaza. "... used the powers of the Presidency in a manner that compromised the national security of the United States and its ally Israel." "I made it clear that if they go into Rafah ... I'm not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah," Biden said on CNN. The White House confirmed on Thursday that officials have already withheld one shipment of weapons, consisting of 3,500 munitions. The article of impeachment, therefore, accused Biden of "abuse of power," claiming that by conditioning military aid to Israel, the president has engaged in a quid pro quo. The impeachment article states: Using the powers of his high office, President Biden solicited a 'quid pro quo' with the foreign government of Israel by withholding precision guided weapons shipments in order to try an extract military policy changes. President Biden sought to pressure the Government of Israel to take steps by conditioning official United States Government acts of significant value to Israel. Specifically mentioning Biden's remarks on CNN, the article accuses Biden of having "used the powers of the Presidency in a manner that compromised the national security of the United States and its ally Israel." "He thus ignored and injured the interests of the Nation," the article alleges. On Thursday, Mills labeled Biden "Quid Pro Joe." The resolution language mirrors the language that Democrats used in their impeachment resolution against then-President Donald Trump in 2019, accusing him of withholding military aid from Ukraine for political reasons. For its part, the Biden administration called Mills' resolution "ridiculous." A White House official said that Israel is receiving all aid that Congress has appropriated to it. "Trump failed to spend dollars appropriated by Congress that he was legally required to spend," that official said. "This is about a purchase made by a foreign government and our decision whether to deliver that purchase right now, which could enable an operation we’ve publicly and privately objected to." Meanwhile, more than two dozen House Democrats sent National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan a letter on Friday urging the administration not to move forward with plans to withhold military aid from Israel. "With democracy under assault around the world, we cannot undermine our ally Israel, especially in her greatest hour of need. America’s commitments must always be ironclad," they said. "We have a duty to continue to equip Israel with the resources she needs to defend herself and crush the terrorists who also seek to do America harm, free the hostages including the Americans, continue delivering critical humanitarian aid to innocent civilians in Gaza, and to stand by our democratic allies around the world." A new voting reform bill in Georgia, just signed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, would require all absentee ballots to be tabulated and the results reported on Election Night.On Monday, Kemp signed SB 189, which makes several significant changes to Georgia's election procedures. The bill removed some possible conflicts of interest between the secretary of state, the state Board of Elections, and those involved with counting ballots; compels homeless residents to list their county register's office as their mailing address; prevents voters from using a P.O. box or private mailbox service as proof of residency; and requires individuals who have voted or registered to vote in another state or district to re-register in their original district before they will be allowed to cast a ballot there, WSBTV.com reported."Public confidence in elections is paramount to keeping civil order and facilitating transfers of power from one party to another."The bill also explicitly requires all absentee ballots to be counted and reported within one hour of the polls closing on Election Day:All absentee ballots that have been verified and accepted ... by the Monday prior to the day of the primary, election, or runoff shall be tabulated and the results reported by no later than 8:00 P.M. on the day of such primary, election, or runoff or within one hour of the closing of all polls in such county, whichever occurs later.This new rule is so noteworthy that Jeremiah Poff of the Washington Examiner claimed that it "will do wonders for election integrity in the Peach State" and that "every state should pass" a measure like it. "Public confidence in elections is paramount to keeping civil order and facilitating transfers of power from one party to another. Counting votes in a timely and accurate manner is essential to keeping that confidence," Poff wrote.However, many on the left are less enthusiastic about the new bill. Fair Fight Action, an organization reportedly founded by twice-failed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, called it "a gift to MAGA election deniers" and claimed it will embolden "right-wing activists in their efforts to kick Black and brown voters off the rolls."Andrea Young, executive director of the ACLU of Georgia, likewise called the bill "a step back for voters’ rights and voting access." "This bill will require already overburdened election workers to spend time processing unnecessary voter challenges," Young said in a statement.Some of the bill's changes will not be implemented for months or even years to come, but most of them — including the new rules regarding absentee ballots — go into effect in July.A spokesperson for Gov. The settlement, which follows an investigation from a coalition of 50 attorneys general, requires the three companies to make their advertisements more transparent. Under the terms of the agreement, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T can only advertise their plans as “unlimited” if there are no limits on how much data someone can use during a billing cycle. GameStop apparently doesn’t want just any cards, though: employees across multiple states say they’ll only be buying cards that have already been graded by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) at an 8, 9, or 10, meaning they’re in near-mint condition or better with only slight imperfections. Preorders opened May 7th, with the former tablet starting at $999 and the latter at $599. Both models come in 11- and 13-inch sizes and are set to arrive in stores on Wednesday, May 15th. One of the most notable changes in the Pro models is the switch from LCD-based displays to OLED, which could be the killer feature for creatives. One of the iPad Pro's big upgrades is the ultra-thin Tandem OLED screen that we knew Apple was working on. The screen has two OLED layers, hence the "tandem" name, and they let Apple significantly increase the screen's brightness. You also get a better contrast ratio, deeper blacks, and better efficiency from the Tandem OLED panel. Additionally, the tech should prolong the iPad Pro's lifespan by reducing the risk of burn-in. Not to mention that the Tandem OLED screen paired with the M4 chip allowed Apple to make an insanely thin iPad Pro that still offers terrific battery life. But some people have already found a reason to complain about the new OLED screen. The M4 iPad Pros do not support always-on display functionality, something Apple introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022.
