On May 8, President Biden took the very unusual step of submitting to an interviewer who was an actual journalist (not a Howard Stern or Drew Barrymore). It wouldn’t be long before he started mangling his record – and Donald Trump’s. CNN's Erin Burnett began with how Trump’s promises of new jobs in Wisconsin didn’t come true: “Why should people here believe that you will succeed at creating jobs where Trump failed?” Biden bragged: “He's never succeeded in creating jobs and I have never failed. I have created over 15 million jobs since I have been president.” He did it all by himself! He claimed other than Herbert Hoover, Trump's "the only other president who lost more jobs than created in his four-year term.” There’s a massive asterisk – the global Covid pandemic. Trump’s employment record in the first three years of his presidency was strong. The raw number of employed Americans reached new records. In October 2018, it had reached more than 165.6 million. The unemployment rate hit record lows across demographics: for women, blacks, Latinos, Asians, and youth. Obviously, the severe lockdowns during the pandemic – most aggressively pushed by the Democrats and their media allies – drove massive job losses. Non-farm payroll employment in the United States declined by 9.4 million in 2020. So Democrats blame that on Trump, and when the pandemic was over, they took credit for the economy climbing out of that hole. But that wasn’t Biden’s worst mangle. He claimed to CNN that “no president's had the run we have had, in terms of creating jobs and bringing down inflation. It was nine percent when I came to office, nine percent.”  That’s ridiculous! It’s a bald-faced lie. Inflation was 1.4 percent, again, due to the pandemic. Burnett didn’t check his facts, during or after the interview. She pushed him to acknowledge inflation was bad, but she didn’t suggest he was lying. Fox News contributor Joe Concha tweeted: “And of course, CNN makes sure its pious fact-checker is nowhere to be found afterward.” That would be Daniel Dale, who's almost entirely deployed on TV to “fact check" Trump. Since Trump’s Manhattan trial began in mid-April, Dale has appeared nine times  to "check" him. He has not appeared to check anyone else. On April 18, Jake Tapper said “he’s handy to have around at times like this.” Some of these fact checks are “brag checks.” Trump will say he’s ahead in all the polls, when he’s ahead in most polls. But Dale sounds most exasperated when Trump blames Biden for his legal troubles. On April 18, Dale decried “his false conspiracy theory that essentially that Joe Biden is behind this case, which was brought by a locally elected district attorney.”  Dale can’t even disclose DA Alvin Bragg is a Democrat. He acknowledged Trump’s lead prosecutor, Matthew Colangelo, was a Biden Justice Department official, and then joined Bragg’s team. A “conspiracy theory” between Democrat lawyers looks obvious here, and declaring it “false” is lame spin. On May 7, Dale threw a penalty flag at Trump for saying Bragg is a “Soros-backed” prosecutor….and Trump didn’t say that in the remarks they’d just aired. Dale turned on the spin machine by saying Soros is “a frequent target of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories,” and then claimed “at best” the money was indirect:  Soros donated to the Color of Change PAC, and then the PAC backed Bragg. If a conservative DA received big money from a pro-Trump PAC, CNN would call him or her “Trump-backed” without hesitation. CNN deploys Dale not as a “fact checker” as much as a spin spoiler.

Those are just the facts.”Remember when I told you months ago on “The Steve Deace Show” that the dumbest thing Democrats could do is make Hakeem Jeffries the speaker of the House? Why in the name of Allah would they do that? I know a lot of people on the — ahem — “conservative” side of this business were self-pleasuring themselves with that talking point to get clicks, but they either forgot or don’t care that Democrats just aren’t like us.You’ll see 100 Democrats cross over and vote to retain Mike Johnson as speaker during an election year if that’s what it takes to keep the world nice and flat.Democrats actually believe things. They’re always on message because it’s a message they believe and take seriously. So, why would they want to change speakers when they are already getting everything they want under the current arrangement? All the while, Republicans share in the political liability, thus shielding Democrats from total responsibility.If Hakeem Jeffries were to be elected speaker, do you know what would happen the very next day? The same Republicans who told you they didn’t have the margins to do anything as the majority are going to be screaming, “Defund everything!”Defund Jack Smith! Defund the persecution of Trump! I mean, literally, they're just going to have a shameless rally on the Capitol steps with biblical worldview Mike Johnson as the martyred keynote speaker, despite supposedly just throwing him out for funding all the things.You know it’s true.Many of your friends and family who watch shows on loop like Jesse “Shallow” Watters on Fox News will lap that up like a dog, because the dog returns to its own vomit. Then they’ll angrily contact you and ask why you would dare criticize the Republicans on your Facebook page when they think “the show” has never been better! Wasn’t it Patrick Henry who said, “Give me endlessly unfulfilled talking points about ‘We mean it this time,’ or give me death”?Jeffries knows all this better than the Fox audience members know themselves, which is why he is content to maintain the status quo and let the Republicans get their fingerprints all over the current congressional murder weapon. Then, when it comes time to attack Democrats on anything, they can just turn right around and say the GOP funded it, too.They’re inoculated.It’s tragi-comic really. The Republican Party is the one vaccine that still works, apparently. It's truly safe and effective. None of us have any standing now to criticize Democrats for any of this demonic, evil monstrosity. And you’ll see 100 Democrats cross over and vote to retain Mike Johnson as speaker during an election year if that’s what it takes to keep the world nice and flat.Meanwhile, over in the actual conservative paradise, Ron DeSantis is continually disproving the narrative of virtually every incestuous GOP consultant who has ever lived by thrusting a stake in the heart of such juvenile reindeer games and merely governing well. Turns out, if you make people’s lives objectively better with your policies, then you can be just as ruthlessly right-wing as you want to be. Even in a state Barack Obama won twice.For example, Disney’s stock dropped again earlier this week and is currently trading where it was about 20 years ago before you even adjust for inflation. Ironically, the only things in Disney’s latest report that are showing a profit are its Florida theme parks. Stop and think about that. DeSantis took money out of Disney's pocket so it could then turn around and put it back in his. And remember how many people — including Donald Trump — said this would never work.That’s because being obsessed with the media and the donor class instead of being content to serve the actual citizens and taxpayers known as “We the People” means leaders don’t fundamentally understand how making your life better is a win-win. They are too busy resenting you or manipulating you to understand the math.But that’s a biblical worldview for you, I guess, when in the hands of Speaker Johnson. Right, Hakeem?

It’s a tough world for strategy games. Between Civilization 6, Age of Empires, erstwhile classics like Command and Conquer, and now the likes of Manor Lords and Frostpunk, there’s a terrific amount of competition. Expectations are high, and some great games are overlooked and partly maligned even if they have relatively minor flaws. Small-scale and intense, one WW2 RTS is a classic example of a game that deserves more attention, despite some of its shortcomings. If there's one thing that I love about League of Legends, it's the rotating skin store. I've picked up some of my favorites at huge discounts, and consistently find myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see which cosmetics will get slashed in price next time around. Teamfight Tactics, however, doesn't have this feature at the moment, meaning chibis and cosmetics are folded into LoL's store.
