FCC passes auto safety spectrum rules

Image: Department of Transportation The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has voted to finalize new spectrum rules that will push cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communications technology forward. C-V2X will use existing cellular networks to send messages from vehicle to vehicle, vehicle to infrastructure, vehicle to cyclists, or vehicle to pedestrians to warn of each other's presence for safety purposes. It could cross-alert for hazardous road conditions, including speeding cars, weather, or traffic congestion. FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said the agency’s efforts will drive innovation in wireless and transportation economies and “keep us safe on our roadways when we walk, ride, and drive.” The decision on the proposed rule promotes “efficient use of... 5 reasons I returned the iPhone 16 Plus and downgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro

The iPhone 16 Plus is the first Plus-sized iPhone I've ever bought. It's also the first non-Pro iPhone I've owned since Apple introduced the iPhone X, which effectively spawned the Pro series. I'd usually look at Pro iPhones before even considering a non-Pro model. The iPhone 14 Pro actually made things clear to me: I could easily "downgrade" to non-Pro devices. After nearly two months of using it, the iPhone 16 Plus is also the first iPhone I have returned. I'm now back to the purple iPhone 14 Pro, the 2022 flagship phone that served me for precisely two years before I switched to the oversized iPhone 16. I do miss the iPhone 16 Plus, but I have reasons for wanting to get rid of it, which I'll explain below. Continue reading... Forgotten Giants: Were There Really Giants in Ancient Times?

One of the most enduring myths of humankind is that pertaining to giants. In almost every major civilization and culture in the world, there are tales of ancient giants, enormous and powerful, credited with the construction of many great sites. But for the most part, the myths about giants remain only that - myths. For generations, scholars and historians tried to bring these myths to reality, to find some evidence that giants really existed. Their efforts are shrouded in enigma. There are stories of giant skeletons being excavated, and many oral legends that point to their existence. But they all somehow, “mysteriously” disappear, or are placed “under the rug”. So what is the truth? Did the giants really live in ancient history? Nibelungs – Germanic Race Of Elves Or Giants? The Relic of Bir Hooker - Proof of a Race of Giants? - Part 1 Read moreSection: NewsHuman OriginsFolkloreMyths & LegendsRead Later

Ryan O’Neal Forbade Farrah Fawcett’s Request To Live With Cher In Her Final Days

Cher and Farrah Fawcett shared a friendship that was envied by many. From the moment the pair met at the show Cher co-hosted with her ex-husband Sonny Bono, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour in the ’70s, they became inseparable. After their initial meeting they joined the same social circles and frequently attended parties and events together. Despite their different career paths, Cher, the music icon, and Farrah Fawcett, the Charlie Angels star, maintained a strong bond until Farrah died in 2009 from anal cancer. However, Cher recently shared in her new book, The Memoir: Part 1, that she was unable to grant Farrah Fawcett one of her last wishes because the actress’ then lover Ryan O’Neal refused. Ryan O’Neal refused to let Farrah Fawcett move in with Cher Cher and Farrah Fawcett/Instagram Cher revealed that Farrah Fawcett wanted to move in with her during her last days as the late actress loved the view of the ocean, and her Malibu estate has clear views of the Pacific. However, it might be possible that Farrah Fawcett just wanted the comfort and encouragement of her friend during her final days, hence the request. However, Ryan O’Neal didn’t let her go and offered her his house instead, and the late actor was by her side when she took her last breath. Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett’s tumultuous and passionate relationship spanned over three decades. The couple began their romance in 1979, shortly after Farrah Fawcett’s separation from her ex-husband, Lee Majors. Although they never married, they had a son, Redmond, together. Their relationship ended in 1997, but they reconnected in 2001 and remained together until Farrah Fawcett’s passing in 2009.  Cher, Farrah Fawcett and Sonny Bono/Instagram Cher is dedicated to preserving her late friend’s legacy Cher and Farrah Fawcett’s friendship is one that stood the rest of time; Cher’s dedication to her friend was unwavering even after her passing. Amidst the media frenzy of Michael Jackson’s death on the same day, Farrah’s death was overshadowed. But Cher appeared on programs to pay tribute to her friend, celebrating her life, courage, and strength. Farrah Fawcett/Everett Even in Farrah Fawcett’s absence, Cher has ensured her memory would live on. Cher’s memoir where she details more about her life and friendship with Farrah is now available.
