Green Energy Needs Minerals, Yet America Blocks New Mines

People eagerly give money to rich environmental groups. The Natural Resources Defense Council has $463 million in assets. It claims it uses law “to confront the climate crisis.” What it really does is pay lawyers to torture people who try to do useful things. Example: America needs minerals like copper and silver to make things. Even President Joe Biden made a speech saying America will need 400-600% more such minerals to make “solar panels, wind turbines and so much more!” An iPhone alone requires aluminum, iron, lithium, gold, copper ... But when investors dare try to dig up such minerals in America, the NRDC objects and uses political connections to stop them. Twenty years ago, entrepreneurs tried to open a mine in Alaska. Before they even got the application in, the EPA vetoed it. Why? Because groups like the NRDC say the mine “would be a catastrophic threat to the wildlife and ... fragile ecosystem.” They get their way because when Democrats run the EPA, they not only support NRDC’s positions, they even hire NRDC employees. The next Republican administration removed the EPA’s veto. The Army Corps of Engineers then studied the mine and concluded that it wasn’t an environmental threat. So, is Pebble a bustling mine today? No. Democrats got elected and vetoed it again. Physicist Mark Mills wonders why anyone would try to open a mine in America today. “Why in the world would you put millions, maybe billions of dollars at risk, spending those decades to get a permit, knowing there’s a very good chance they’ll just cancel a permit? How in the world do you build mines in America knowing that that’s the landscape you have?” Well, you don’t. America now ranks second to last in the time it takes to develop a new mine -- roughly 29 years. Only Zambia is worse. “You start applying for permits,” says Mills, “You’re going to be waiting not months, not years, but decades!” Waiting while the NRDC sues and runs frightening anti-mine ads, saying nature will be “destroyed by a 2,000-foot gaping hole in the ground!” Mills points out their deceit. Today’s mines disturb “a tiny infinitesimal pinprick in the landscape” and we do need to disturb the landscape a little, because “we need metals and materials and minerals to build everything that exists to make society possible!” I confronted NRDC spokesman Bob Deans, saying the NRDC killing mines also kills people’s opportunity. He responded that “clean” energy creates jobs. “We created 50,000 new jobs in this country, putting up wind turbines, solar panels, building the next generation of energy efficient cars. This is where the future is!” “But also, you need copper and gold,” I point out. “That’s right,” says Deans, “And we have to weigh those risks.” But the NRDC doesn’t weigh the risks. They just oppose American mines. I asked Deans, “Are there any mines that the NRDC doesn’t complain about? “Sure,” he replied. He said he’d send us some names. But he never did. I asked again this month. Again, no names. “Don’t hold your breath,” says Mills. “The mines that they implicitly support are in Africa.” “Implicitly” because they don’t actually say mining should be done in poor countries. “They don’t say that,” says Mills, “But the green movement has been perfectly happy outsourcing mining to disadvantaged countries where thousands of children in bare feet, working by hand with shovels, dig minerals out of the earth.” At least in America, children wouldn’t be digging with their hands, advanced equipment would make mining safer and our rules would reduce pollution. You’d think environmentalists would want more mining done in America. “To have a sane world,” says Mills, “We should be doing a lot more of it. Not all of it. But not none.” Allowing America to do more would definitely be good. Our future needs minerals. “Society can’t exist without mines,” concludes Mills.

‘Do Not Do That at My Table’: CNN's Abby Phillip Scolds Calling a Woman 'Dear'

‘Do Not Do That at My Table’: CNN's Abby Phillip Scolds Calling a Woman 'Dear'

CNN host Abby Phillip broke out the scolding on Wednesday night’s NewsNight when Bruce LeVell – the former executive director of Trump’s 2016 National Diversity Coalition used the apparently offensive word “dear” to Democrat strategist Julie Roginsky, in a “condescending tone.” However, it was all right to accuse Matt Gaetz of “statutory rape.” Phillip didn’t mind that one bit. As they discussed all the allegations of sexual impropriety against Gaetz, Roginsky said: “They have a responsibility to do the right thing here, which is to say to the president, Mr. President, you get to choose your cabinet, but we have advice and consent powers, and we do not consent to Matt Gaetz. Find somebody else of similar ideology who doesn't have problems with potentially sleeping with underage girls, doing drugs and going to sex parties.” Levell protested that after Gaetz was investigated, “The bottom line is the DOJ said there’s nothing there.” Roginsky protested that no, “they said they didn’t have enough to indict. That shouldn’t be the standard.” Put aside that this is typically the standard for Democrats like Bill Clinton. Then Levell said: “No, it’s a charge, dear.” Roginsky took offense: “Dear? Excuse me. Thank you for the misogyny.” Then Phillip played the disciplinarian: Abby Phillip update: Bruce LeVell said the word "dear" to Julie Roginsky. She said "thanks for the misogyny," then Phillip scolded: "Please do not address a grown woman as 'dear' in a condescending tone. Do not do that at my table!" But you can accuse Gaetz of statutory rape... pic.twitter.com/BHJNQb4GzI — Tim Graham (@TimJGraham) November 21, 2024 PHILLIP: Hold on. Hold on. I'm just going to stop it right here because we're not going to get off on a wrong foot. Please do not address a grown woman as dear in a condescending tone. Do not do that at my table. You can continue. FMR. REP. DENVER RIGGLEMAN (R-VA): I was going to say for me, you know, Abby, my background is intelligence, and a lot of times when we track bad actors is through financial networks. So, once you have a follow the money diagram there, you're screwed. It ain't going to happen. And I want to tell you this also. It's not just the fact that he used public Venmo to actually, I guess, engage in statutory rape, right? Being accused of "statutory rape" (sex with a minor) seems like a tougher term than "dear." Levell didn't call Roginsky an "ignorant slut," but the reaction seemed about the same. Phillip doesn't object to mocking conservatives with rougher terms. She sat blankly as disgraced ex-PBS host Tavis Smiley said J.D. Vance has "mommy issues." Phillip also played the schoolmarm two weeks ago when CNN analyst Shermichael Singleton offended the LGBTQ cops by saying the supposedly horrific term "boys in girls sports." CNN contributor Ryan Girdusky was removed from CNN a month ago for joking on this show that Mehdi Hasan might have an exploding beeper like a member of Hamas.

Illegal alien NOT in custody after deadly crash claims life of beloved Michigan pastor

A beloved Detroit-area pastor was fatally struck while out on a morning walk earlier this month, yet the illegal alien believed to be involved in his death is still out roaming the streets.Around 6:45 a.m. on November 3, Stephen Singleton — a 72-year-old pastor, family man, and avid athlete — was out for his usual morning walk in Rochester Hills, Michigan, a city of some 76,000 residents about a half-hour north of Detroit. Wearing a reflector vest, Singleton stepped into the designated crosswalk so that he could safely cross Rochester Road near Avon Road.He didn't make it.At some point, an individual driving a 2013 Ford Focus struck Singleton with such force that he flew in the air and shattered the windshield, his grieving widow said."The car hit him so hard that he flew in the air and hit the windshield and broke it," Teri Singleton told WXYZ-TV.The injuries he sustained were catastrophic."He had almost every bone in his body broken," she told WJBK. "He had his collarbone fractured, internal organ damage, and his skull was cracked. He had two craniotomies in the hospital."Deputies initially told Mrs. Singleton that her husband was responsive despite his injuries, but by the time the family arrived at the hospital, he had taken a serious turn for the worse. He was placed on life support and died a few days after the crash.'I had to sit and watch my husband of 53 years die in front of me.'Stephen Singleton, always known for his devotion to others, went to New York City in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, praying with those in need and searching desperately — but ultimately in vain — for survivors."I started tearing because I couldn't find survivors," he recalled in a 2022 interview with WXYZ-TV, where Singleton once worked. "We would find people who were perished, but we couldn't find survivors."A GoFundMe page established following his death gives even more insight into the man Stephen Singleton was:He never met a stranger, was a friend to everyone and made lifelong friendships. His motto was everyone was his brother or sister and sharing support, wisdom and the love of the Lord was his responsibility. He was a father to the fatherless, as well as all his nieces and nephews and every child in all the neighborhoods he frequented. While the Singleton family is left to mourn the loss of such a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the man believed to be involved in his death is not in custody."I had to sit and watch my husband of 53 years die in front of me, and then to know that the person who did this is walking around is very difficult to deal with," Teri said, adding, "He’s dead and they’re walking around. That’s bothering me."Investigators told WJBK that the individual is a Colombian national and that U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that he crossed the border illegally and was released pending a future hearing in federal court. WXYZ-TV also noted that the man had a valid foreign driver's license, "which is accepted in Michigan."According to WJBK, police do not believe alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.A spokesperson from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Blaze News that the crash remains under investigation but declined to comment further.Like Blaze News? ‘Morning Joe’s’ civil sit-down with Trump leaves ‘The View’ hosts FUMING

Like most of the mainstream media, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” hosts, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, called Donald Trump “Hitler” for years. Now they’re attempting to build a civil relationship with the president-elect, including by sitting down for a meeting with him — and “The View’s” Sunny Hostin could not be less thrilled. “The bottom line is that America needs a free press that is willing to speak truth to power, right now, more than ever,” Hostin began. “I think that we have to be very clear-eyed when we think about the president-elect and cover the president-elect, and I don’t think you need to sit down for 90 minutes a Mar a Lago and kiss his ring to be able to speak truth and to be able to cover a story,” she continued. “So maybe they’re not journalists in the true sense, maybe they’re saying that they’re opinion journalists, but we have to remember that Trump is the guy who ushered in the era of fake news,” she concluded. Of course, Ana Navarro wholeheartedly agreed. “I think there’s a lot of people who are probably looking at what Joe and Mika did and find it opportunistic,” she said. “There are people who change their stripes, or maybe their spots, I should say today, depending on who is in power and what benefits them.” “We don’t know what they’re going to do if he commits abuses of power as president. So, you know, everybody has to live with their decision. Everybody has to look at themselves in the mirror,” she added. Surprisingly, Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” agrees. “Yes, I’ve been saying you people have to look at yourselves in the mirror. I don’t think you’re quite there yet, Ana, although the Ozempic is working, but that’s not really what you should be looking in the mirror for,” Rubin says. “What you should be looking in the mirror for is that your hypocrisy is off the charts. You think people change their stripes to be opportunistic? That’s kind of funny, Ana Navarro, because you used to work when you were a Republican, a conservative, for Marco Rubio, who’s now secretary of state,” he adds. 'All the guys wanted me to do it': NFL players respond to Trump-dance publicity as league passes issue down to networks

NFL players will not be disciplined for doing Donald Trump-inspired celebrations, with multiple players saying they are simply trying to have fun. After San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was fined over $11,000 for wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat for mere seconds during a postgame interview, he later did the Trump dance after a sack against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many assumed this would lead to the league clamping down on the politically themed celebrations and making another example out of Bosa. However, the league later revealed that its guidance on the topic was actually no guidance at all.NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said there is "no issue" with the dance by Bosa or any of the players in the last two weeks, Blaze News reported.Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers was one of the first players to offer up an explanation for his dance moves after the fact. The 21-year-old told USA Today that he thought the dance would be a cool addition to his touchdown repertoire. "I’ve seen everyone do it," Bowers explained. "I watched the UFC fight [Saturday] night, and Jon Jones did it.""I like watching UFC, so I saw it and thought it was cool," he added.Bosa, on the other hand, said that his teammates were the ones who pushed him into performing the on-field shimmy."All the guys wanted me to do it. I wasn't even going to do it, but the boys reminded me. And it was fun."'It's up to the networks to cover them as they see fit.'At the same time, Front Office Sports asked the NFL spokesman if the league had given any directives to television networks surrounding whether or not they should show the celebrations. The league seemingly pulled a Trumpian move of its own, pushing the decision to states (networks)."It's up to the networks to cover them as they see fit," the league spokesman said of the dances.Certain networks have been caught ignoring or outright clipping certain viewpoints. NBC in particular has has edited out remarks relating to Christianity and also entirely avoided the fact that Elon Musk was at an NFL game the network was airing. While this is certainly the network's own prerogative and freedom of choice, these decisions certainly have a much bigger downside when they are noticed.Furthermore, the NFL's comments came after reporter Safid Deen said just days earlier that the Las Vegas Raiders' public relations team ended their question period after he asked Bowers about his Trump dance."Raiders PR ended his postgame availability after my question," Deen wrote on X.Despite this, the team still posted a stand-alone video of Bowers doing the dance on social media.Like Blaze News? City official boasts Los Angeles has largest illegal immigrant population, won't collaborate with ICE

Los Angeles City Council member Hugo Soto-Martinez told CNN his city is proud of the fact that it has the largest illegal immigrant population in the country, meaning the city will not aid the incoming Trump administration in its deportation efforts.CNN host John Berman asked Soto-Martinez if Los Angeles' new sanctuary policy is out of step with what Americans voted for this election cycle since President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on conducting mass deportations. "We’re fighting to build affordable housing. We’re giving folks options to get around the city, whether that’s through bus or bike. And so we’re really trying to speak to the issues that the people have. And so — and I think that’s why here in Los Angeles, our message is resonating. And the messages that you described earlier from the Republican Party is not," Soto-Martinez replied.'Read about that and don't cross that line because it’s a felony to harbor and conceal an illegal alien from ICE.'When Berman pressed the council member on the issue again, Soto-Martinez said he believes going against deportations and detaining illegal immigrants is the right thing to do."And especially here in the City of Angels, where we have some of the largest — we are a city of immigrants. We have the largest undocumented population. They make our economy run. And so I think here in Los Angeles, I think our message is just fine," he said.Soto-Martinez acknowledged the city council will have an uphill battle because the Trump administration will have more power and resources to carry out the operation."But what we are sending as L.A. City officials is that the city of Los Angeles will not participate in any collaboration with ICE and that we as city officials will do our best to keep families together and protect people," he explained. Incoming border czar Tom Homan has made clear that any Democratic leaders who do not want to collaborate with federal officials should get out of the way. He also warned them not to violate Title 8 U.S.C. § 1324."They need to educate themselves. They need to review this: Title 8 U.S.C. § 1324. Read about that and don't cross that line, because it’s a felony to harbor and conceal an illegal alien from ICE. Don’t cross that line," Homan warned this week.Homan has said sanctuary cities are only hurting themselves by not working with the federal government, since their refusal to cooperate will force more federal agents to scatter throughout their jurisdictions rather than keep mainly to the local jail.Like Blaze News? Does Stalker 2 have multiplayer?

Does Stalker 2 have multiplayer? Exploring a hostile environment can be a huge detriment to your health, and The Zone is no exception. There seemingly isn’t a single being in the wasteland that doesn’t want to tear you limb from limb. A lot of the time, the only thing you can rely on is yourself, and the weapon in your hand. Multiplayer could change that, but does Stalker 2 have it? We quite enjoyed Stalker 2, but one evident thing is that the survival game can be a lonely place sometimes. Sure, there are Stalker 2 missions to go on, creepy basements to explore, and abandoned cities to wander, but we can’t shake the feeling that bringing a friend or two along would lift the mood a little, if nothing else.
