'Tonight was my revenge': Female boxer who lost to male at Olympics wins national title

A female Olympic boxer won a national title in her home country months after losing a controversial bout in less than a minute to an opponent accused of being a man.At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Italy's Angela Carini retired after just 46 seconds during a match against Algeria's Imane Khelif, a fighter shrouded in controversy over rumors the boxer has male chromosomes. Khelif went on to win the gold medal. Now, Carini has reportedly won the Italian women's national boxing title and was shown in a photo celebrating with her medal. "Tonight was my revenge," Carini said, per the Telegraph's Oliver Brown.Carini's ability to win a national title perhaps showcases that even top female athletes are at a disadvantage when it comes to directly competing against men.'I'm going out with my head held high.'After her loss to Khelif at the summer games, Carini broke down in tears as her opponent celebrated. "I got into the ring to fight," Carini said following the fight. "I didn't give up, but one punch hurt too much, and so I said enough.""I'm going out with my head held high," she added. However, the Italian would later apologize for not shaking her opponent's hand and said she accepted the decision by the International Olympic Committee to allow Khelif to compete against women."All this controversy makes me sad," Carini said. "I'm sorry for my opponent, too. ... If the IOC said she can fight, I respect that decision." This included the International Boxing Association and the World Boxing Organization. The IBA disqualified the boxer at the 2023 world championships with IBA President Umar Kremlev saying at the time that Khelif had "XY chromosomes."The WBO's István Kovács said, "The result of the gender test ... clearly revealed that the Algerian boxer is biologically male."After the Olympics, Khelif still denied any possibility of being a man and even filed hate speech complaints in France against names like Elon Musk and author J.K. Rowling over "alleged acts of aggravated cyber harassment."It wasn't until November when a journalist acquired medical documents that stated Khelif has testicles, a penis, and XY chromosomes. A pelvic MRI also reportedly revealed the "absence of a uterus."Despite this report, Khelif has still been reported on as a female, telling reporters that "based on unverified information, [critics] attacked a young girl who was just there to realize her dream."According to the Daily Mail, an endocrinologist involved in the report said his name was being used to disseminate an anti-trans agenda but also did not deny the claims made in his report. Nancy Mace allegedly attacked on Capitol Hill by crazed LGBT activist

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced a resolution last month to make biological reality — not delusion — the determining factor for which single-sex facilities House members or employees can use. That would mean, of course, that Delaware Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D) would have to use the men's restroom in the new year. House Speaker Mike Johnson put the ban in place on Nov. 20. For stating that "biological men do not belong in private women's spaces," Mace, the first woman to graduate from the Citadel's Corps of Cadets and a rape survivor, has faced incredible abuse from her Democratic peers and was even threatened by a cross-dressing activist who stated in a video, "I do hope that one day I do find you in that woman's bathroom, and I grab your ratty-looking f***ing hair and drag your face down to the floor while I repeatedly bash it in until the blood's everywhere and you're dead." 'All the violence and threats keep proving our point.' True to form, an LGBT activist reportedly attacked Mace on Capitol Hill Tuesday. Mace stated on X, "I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it'll heal just fine." "Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down," wrote Mace. "FAFO. #HoldTheLine." The congresswoman noted in another post, "All the violence and threats keep proving our point. Women deserve to be safe." 'I'm going to double down on this.' U.S. Capitol Police officers from the House Division and agents with the Threat Assessment Section tracked down and arrested Mace's alleged attacker, 33-year-old James McIntyre of Illinois, reported WTTG-TV. The USCP indicated in a statement that McIntyre, now facing a charge for assaulting a government official, passed through a standard security screening before entering the Rayburn House Office Building. Citing a source with knowledge of the incident, journalist Andy Ngo reported that McIntyre allegedly grabbed Mace's hand "aggressively, tightened his grip and shook her around by the arm." After introducing her resolution last month, Mace told Fox News, "They're threatening to kill me now because I as a woman am standing up to protect other women from men being in our private spaces." "I will not be bullied into silence. I will not back down, and in fact, I'm going to double down on this. I'm going to file even more legislation to protect women beyond the Capitol, across every state in the nation," continued Mace. "I have PTSD from the trauma that I have endured at the hands of a man. ... I'm absolutely going to stand in the way solidly of any guy that wants to come into our spaces." The congresswoman indicated Wednesday morning that President-elect Donald Trump had called to check on her. "I'm going to be fine just as soon as the pain and soreness subside," Mace noted on X. "January 20th can't come soon enough." Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Grocery giant to close San Francisco store over ‘persistent’ theft, safety concerns under leftist mayor’s leadership

Safeway, a grocery chain under Albertsons Companies, reportedly sent a letter on Tuesday to San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D), notifying her of the company's intent to shut down one of its locations because of "persistent" theft and safety issues. The letter, reviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle, told Breed that Safeway would close its location on Webster Street in Fillmore, a neighborhood in San Francisco, on February 7. 'Unfortunately, the challenges we face are too great to overcome.'The grocery store reportedly kept the location open for an additional 11 months "to provide a greater transition period for the community."The store location, which has been open for four decades, became the latest in a long line of retailers fleeing the San Francisco area because of rampant theft.Safeway's letter to Breed cited "ongoing concerns about associate and customer safety, as well as persistent issues with theft."Last year, the grocery store removed its self-checkout kiosks to reduce retail theft. It noted that all the store's employees will be assigned to one of its other 15 remaining San Francisco locations.According to the Chronicle, the San Francisco Police Department has many incident reports for the store, including complaints regarding car break-ins, assaults, loitering, and illegal dumping. Safeway stated it is "actively working on a transition plan to ensure a smooth and secure closure of the store, while allowing for continued access and traffic flow to neighboring businesses.""These are difficult decisions we make as a business with more than 255 stores across Northern California, and we do not take it lightly," it continued. "We appreciate the time and resources you've invested in trying to help us find a way to stay open, but unfortunately, the challenges we face are too great to overcome."Breed responded to the announcement by stating that she was "saddened" but thanked Safeway for delaying its close date by nearly a year. She said San Francisco is committed to ensuring "our residents and seniors continue to have access to healthy food, banking, and pharmaceutical needs and will be working closely with the community, local businesses, and commercial property owners to attract these vital services to existing storefront vacancies."San Francisco District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston has encouraged Breed to acquire the property through eminent domain and turn it into affordable housing. Safeway reached an agreement to sell the plaza to Align Real Estate, which aims to turn the property into a mixed-use space with housing and retail shops. Preston told the Chronicle that closing down the grocery store "with no replacement is cruel.""I continue to believe that the best path forward to guarantee a future grocery store and affordable housing on this former redevelopment site is for the city to commence negotiations to acquire the site," he stated.Preston noted that Breed's office has not responded to his request to seize control of the property.Last month, leftist Mayor Breed, who has supported the "defund the police" movement and backed soft-on-crime initiatives, was defeated in her re-election bid by Democratic challenger Daniel Lurie, an heir to the Levi Strauss fortune. Lurie's campaign focused on a commitment to reclaiming public safety.Safeway did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.Like Blaze News? Mitch McConnell's jaw-dropping insinuation about the MAGA movement

Mitch McConnell's jaw-dropping insinuation about the MAGA movement

In the aftermath of President-elect Donald Trump's landslide victory, former Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell compared the MAGA movement to American isolationists in the 1930s, insinuating that Trump would have been indifferent to the fascist uprising in Europe at the time.Trump, whose foreign policy is far more hands-off than McConnell's hawkish approach, is fundamentally at odds with the former leader's geopolitical worldview. Consequently, McConnell spoke about the current state of foreign affairs and said it was "reminiscent" of the times leading up to World War II, criticizing American isolationists from both today and nearly a century ago. It all comes down to McConnell and money. McConnell has greenlit over $170 billion to Ukraine, while Trump has repeatedly called for an end to the war altogether.“We’re in a very, very dangerous world right now, reminiscent of before World War II,” McConnell said. “Even the slogan is the same. ‘America First.’ That was what they said in the ’30s.”McConnell has famously been a thorn in Trump's side and has been a staunch critic of the president-elect, both on and off the record. He reiterated his opposition to Trump and said he intends to push back on him and the incoming administration. “No matter who got elected president, I think it was going to require significant pushback, yeah, and I intend to be one of the pushers," McConnell said.It all comes down to McConnell and money. McConnell has greenlit over $170 billion to Ukraine, while Trump has repeatedly called for an end to the war altogether. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) takes a question from a reporter during a news conference following the weekly Senate Republican policy luncheon at the U.S. Capitol on November 19, 2024, in Washington, D.C. Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images“To most American voters, I think the simple answer is, ‘Let’s stay out of it,'" McConnell said. "That was the argument made in the ’30s, and that just won’t work. Thanks to Reagan, we know what does work — not just saying peace through strength, but demonstrating it.”While McConnell may have stepped down from his leadership role, his grip on foreign funding is not loosening any time soon. McConnell notably stepped into the new role of chairing the Senate appropriations subcommittee on defense, which will allow him to continue influencing the cash flow to our "democratic allies." “That’s where the real money is,” McConnell said. While he didn't say how much more money he is willing to approve for foreign conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war, he said, "The goal here is for the Russians not to win.""We've got two democratic allies fighting for their lives," McConnell said. "I don't think we ought to micromanage what they think is necessary to win." McConnell has generously signed off on hundreds of billions of dollars of foreign funding. At the same time, Trump poses a threat to McConnell's preferred foreign policy. As a result, McConnell resorted to drawing perverse comparisons between Trump and American isolationists who were lukewarm about fascistic uprisings in Europe during the 1930s.That being said, McConnell likely draws this comparison because Trump is a legitimate threat to the political infrastructure he has built since he was first elected Republican Senate leader in 2007. McConnell can't dispute Trump's support, even admitting that the president-elect has become the most influential Republican in the party. One thing is for sure: The old-guard Senate Republicans, especially McConnell, won't go down without a fight. Like Blaze News? Dead Cells dev’s Windblown finally updates an unfair mechanic and adds even more

If you love Dead Cells as much as I do, you need to give Windblown a shot. The newest roguelike from the former's developer Motion Twin, it's already an incredibly promising evolution of what the team can do. With an isometric viewpoint and co-op, Motion Twin is clearly pushing itself with new ideas, but that does mean that the Steam Early Access launch needs some improvements. Well, the game's first feature patch is here, and it makes some much-needed changes while adding some new content for good measure. I tried the latest Cyberpunk 2077 update on a new Intel CPU, and it’s 91% faster

Gaming is looking like a much better prospect for Intel Arrow Lake CPUs now, thanks to the latest Cyberpunk 2077 update. Noticing that the patch notes stated that the game is around 33% faster now on Intel Arrow Lake chips, I decided to try it out for myself on an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K. The results are absolutely transformative, turning this Intel CPU into a genuine gaming contender. I first benchmarked this Intel CPU in Cyberpunk 2077 for our my Core Ultra 7 265K review, and the results were shockingly bad. Not only was there no hope of this CPU competing with the latest chips from AMD, but it was even well behind all of Intel’s own 14th-gen CPUs. This was categorically not the best gaming CPU.
