We Have Now Begun the ‘Resolution’ of this Fourth Turning

by Bob MacGuffie, co-author of The Seventh Crisis   Many of us have heard the term, Fourth Turning, referenced or discussed over the past decade or so.  But the term was actually coined by two American demographers some 27 years ago. In their 1997 book, “The Fourth Turning,” demographers William Strauss and Neil Howe viewed history […] The post We Have Now Begun the ‘Resolution’ of this Fourth Turning appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

San Diego County Board Of Supervisors Votes To Protect Violent Illegals. Sheriff Fires Back.

On Tuesday, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 3-1 for a policy that would turn the jurisdiction into a “super sanctuary” county, thereby preventing its sheriff’s department from notifying ICE about illegal immigrants who had committed violent crimes. The policy goes beyond California state law and will require a judge’s order for ICE to receive assistance from the county to transfer illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes to immigration authorities. San Diego County Sheriff Kelly A. Martinez immediately responded, issuing a statement that said: “The Sheriff’s Office will not change its practices based on the Board resolution and policy that was passed at today’s meeting. The Board of Supervisors does not set policy for the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff, as an independently elected official, sets the policy for the Sheriff’s Office. California law prohibits the Board of Supervisors from interfering with the independent, constitutionally and statutorily designated investigative functions of the Sheriff, and is clear that the Sheriff has the sole and exclusive authority to operate the county jails.” “I think this policy goes beyond California’s existing sanctuary laws by adding an additional layer of bureaucracy that hinders local law enforcement from directly notifying ICE about illegal immigrants who are currently in our jails,” Supervisor Jim Desmond, the lone dissenting vote, declared. “And they have committed heinous crimes, including child abuse or endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but only if this conviction is for a felony, possession of an unlawful deadly weapon, gang-related offenses, a crime resulting in death or involving personal affliction or great bodily injury, possession or use of a firearm in the commission of an offense, torture, rape, and kidnapping. That’s the population we’re talking about.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE He pointed out that if an illegal immigrant committed one of those crimes, “San Diego County would be legally prohibited from directly coordinating with ICE … effectively protecting these offenders from deportation.” “Today’s outrageous decision to turn San Diego County into a ‘Super’ Sanctuary County is an affront to every law-abiding citizen who values safety and justice,” Desmond wrote on X. “The Board of Supervisors’ 3-1 vote to embrace this radical policy is a direct betrayal of the people we are sworn to protect. This reckless measure not only goes far beyond California’s already extreme Sanctuary State laws but actively endangers our communities by shielding illegal immigrant criminals from deportation.” “I have already been in contact with the incoming Administration and will fight relentlessly to undo this disastrous policy and ensure that illegal immigrant criminals are removed from our neighborhoods,” he concluded. Today’s outrageous decision to turn San Diego County into a “Super” Sanctuary County is an affront to every law-abiding citizen who values safety and justice. First Time On Film: Researchers Capture Rare Footage Of Mysterious Bigfin Squid

Did you know that over 80% of the ocean remains unexplored by humans? It’s hard to imagine just how many undiscovered creatures reside in these areas. Heck, even the areas of the ocean we do explore are full of elusive creatures. And the bigfin squid is the perfect, weirdly fascinating example. Although this type of squid was discovered back in 1907, it’s highly rare for us humans to spot them. In fact, recorded sightings of this alien-like creature have only been documented around a dozen times. For further perspective, that’s about 12 times in 117 years! That’s why the Tonga Trench Expedition was thrilled to stumble across a bigfin squid while exploring the Southern Pacific Ocean. Check out this strange underwater animal in the video below! @oceanx This is the first sighting of the rare bigfin squid (Magnapinna) in the Tonga Trench in the Southern Pacific Ocean. Filmed at a depth of 3,300 meters using a deep-sea lander in September 2024, the squid’s iconic tentacles take up the entire view of the camera. There have only been around a dozen sightings of bigfin squid on record, so to have new footage of this creature to study is incredibly important. Because there have been so few sightings, very little is known about these alien-like squids. We do know that they can be over 8 meters long, their tentacles jut out perpendicular to their body giving them the appearance of “elbows”, and they are the only know squid to live below 6,000 meters, giving them the title of the deepest dwelling squid on Earth. The Tonga Trench Expedition that filmed this bigfin squid was lead by Professor Alan Jamieson and included researchers from the Minderoo-UWA Deep-Sea Research Center at The University of Western Australia (@deepseauwa) , Kelpie Geoscience (@KelpieGeo) and Inkfish (@inkfishexpeditions). ♬ original sound – OceanX Elusive Bigfin Squid is Caught on Camera 3,300 Meters Under the Tonga Trench “We always hope to see this type of animal,” Alan Jamieson, a professor and deep-sea scientist at the University of Western Australia who helped lead the team, says. “[Bigfin squid] are not something you would actively go looking for, they are a species that relies on us coming across them by accident.” Because the bigfin squid is so elusive, we still don’t know a lot about it. But what we do know is fascinating. They can be over 8 meters long, and their tentacles are shaped in a way that makes it seem as though they have their own version of “elbows.” Plus, because they live below 6,000 meters, it makes them the deepest-dwelling squid. “I’ve never seen anything look so real and so fake at the same time,” someone admits in reply to this rare footage, with another asking, “Are we 100% that’s not one of those aliens?” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here!
