It happened around 8:44 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Vic Joy Drive when fire officials responded to report of a fire with possible entrapment. This content is imported from Twitter. Bethel-Tate Fire Chief Christopher Cooper confirmed crews heard reports of an explosion on the way to the scene and when they arrived, they found debris and heavy fire. The large flames were under control in about 45 minutes, with four mutual aid departments responding. Cooper said debris was sent across the neighborhood. Fire officials confirmed two people have died, a man and a woman. Cooper said the age and relationship between the victims are unknown at this time. A third person, a man, was taken to UC Medical Center with burn injuries. Neighbors said they were able to talk to him, saying he was a heating repair man and that he was covered in soot and burned but was alert and able to talk. “He’s bent over with his hands on his knees, trying to trying to get his breath, his face was dirty. I got closer and was like ‘are you ok?’ and his whole hair was singed. And me and the other neighbor said you need to go get an ambulance,” Neighbor Stephanie Young said. The man’s current condition is unknown at this time. Cooper also confirmed there was a large amount of cats in the area. The cause is unknown and is now under investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office. Investigators remained at the scene throughout the day Tuesday and responded again early Wednesday after flames rekindled under the rubble of the fire. Photos and videos taken from the scene show the extent of damage to the home, with debris scattered across the lawn and the house still in flames. Cooper said they are now working to sift through debris and find the source of the explosion fire and will likely be at the scene all day. He says neighboring homes suffered minor damage. A neighbor’s doorbell camera captured the moment the house exploded. The explosion could be felt by surrounding homes in the area, with many taking to social media to report what they felt. “I heard a boom,” Young said. “You could feel it; it was louder than any boom I’ve ever heard. This was undeniably loud.” She said she opened the door, and that’s when she could see the debris. “A mess. Just everywhere,” Young said. The most recent was April 22, 2022, at 5021 Hialeah Drive. A couple and their three sons who lived there survived. As of September, the cause of the explosion had not been released. Matt Brown, chief of the Allegheny County Department of Emergency Services, said in an email Saturday that the investigation has been lengthy because of forensic testing of natural gas lines and appliances and follow-up interviews. He said all of that requires extensive planning and coordination. A March 2008 house explosion on Mardi Gras Drive was eerily similar in its destruction to Saturday’s incident on Rustic Ridge Drive. In that incident, when the house at 171 Mardi Gras exploded, two others were destroyed and 11 were damaged. A grandfather, Richard Leith, 64, of Trafford, was killed and his granddaughter, Gianna, then 4, suffered a broken leg. A National Transportation Safety Board investigation found that a 2-inch natural gas distribution pipeline had been hit by a backhoe when a sewer line was replaced five years prior in 2003, stripping the pipeline of its protective coating and making it susceptible to corrosion and failure. But it seems as though they have indeed regained at least some of their composure, and are now engaging in the same old mud slinging that they always resort to when there’s nothing more solid to throw at conservatives. Here is one CNN report from a few days ago running with the previously investigated closed case, regarding the accusations of sexual assault against Pete Hegseth — nominated by President Trump as the next Secretary of Defense. Last Thursday, for instance, Vanity Fair ran a piece in which they described panic among the Trump transition team because of the allegation against Pete Hegseth mentioned in the CNN report above. The Vanity Fair story cited a source from within President Trump’s transition team. Donald Trump’s transition team scrambled Thursday after Trump’s incoming chief of staff Susie Wiles was presented with an allegation that former Fox & Friends cohost Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to be Defense Secretary, had engaged in sexual misconduct. According to two sources, Wiles was briefed Wednesday night about an allegation that Hegseth had acted inappropriately with a woman. One of the sources said the alleged incident took place in Monterey, California in 2017. According to the transition source, the allegation is serious enough that Wiles and Trump’s lawyers spoke to Hegseth about it on Thursday. A source with knowledge of the meeting said that Hegseth said the allegation stemmed from a consensual encounter and characterized the episode as he-said, she-said. On Thursday evening, Hegseth’s lawyer Timothy Parlatore said: “This allegation was already investigated by the Monterey police department and they found no evidence for it.” One Hegseth ally blamed the surfacing of the sexual misconduct allegation on GOP establishment members who are trying to thwart Hegseth’s nomination. “They’ll try to kill all these nominations before the confirmation vote,” the ally said. And then, just yesterday the same writer ran with a story highlighting “doubts within the Trump transition” regarding Hegseth’s ability to survive the allegations. In yesterday’s article in Vanity Fair, the writer referenced not one, but two different GOP sources, seemingly within President Trump’s transition team. For now, Donald Trump is reportedly standing by Pete Hegseth, his embattled pick for defense secretary, but some Trump transition officials are beginning to doubt whether the Fox News host can survive the controversy. According to two Republicans close to Trump, the transition team is quietly preparing a list of alternative defense secretary candidates should Trump abandon Hegseth. “It’s becoming a real possibility,” one of the sources says. The second source tells me that transition team members are frustrated that Hegseth failed to disclose he had paid a financial settlement to a woman who alleged he raped her at a Republican women’s event in 2017. The incident was investigated by Monterey police in 2017 with no charges ever filed. Recently, someone claiming to be “a friend” of the accuser contacted President Trump’s transition team with the accusations, according to a report in The Independent. Police investigated Hegseth for alleged sexual misconduct in Monterey, California in 2017. The Washington Post reported at the weekend that Hegseth paid the woman who accused him of sexual assault as part of a non-disclosure agreement. Despite the payment, he has maintained the encounter was consensual. The Post, citing a statement from Hegseth’s attorney Timothy Parlatore, reported that Hegseth was “visibly intoxicated” when he encountered a woman in Monterey seven years ago. Parlatore said in this statement that the woman contacted the police, and they concluded, “the Complainant had been the aggressor in the encounter.” However, Monterey police did not confirm this to the Post. Hegseth later agreed to pay the woman as part of an NDA because he was concerned he’d be fired by Fox News, the Post reported. The NDA and payment came after she threatened to litigate further in 2020, the Post reported, citing Hegseth’s attorney. The Post also obtained a memo which was written by an unnamed individual — who claims to be a friend of the accuser — and sent to Trump’s presidential transition team. That memo claimed Hegseth raped a 30-year-old conservative group staffer in a hotel room in Monterey in 2017, the Post reported. Police investigated the incident but Hegseth never faced charges, the memo said. As reported, President Trump has acknowledged the alleged attempts to discredit his nominations, and is so far standing behind his picks. But that hasn’t stopped the increasing attacks and ignorant mud slinging against President Trump’s would-be cabinet members. I don’t know whether that is true, or whether it is a concoction to add legitimacy to a flimsy accusation, and thereby paint the Trump team as being disorganized and panic stricken. If it is not true — shame on the media for continuing to spread the lies that have lost them the confidence of the American people.  If it is true — I’m praying those individuals are found out and removed. There is a reason President Trump isn’t exactly following the script during the transition process.  The operation is happening at Mar-a-Lago; away from prying federal eyes and ears. And away from attempts from within the Deep State to prevent it’s own deconstruction. The last thing President Trump needs are moles leaking information from inside of his transition team in an attempt to mitigate his ability to install the right people in the right areas of responsibility. I have no doubt the attacks will continue.  Some will surely dredge up facts; no one is perfect, and almost all of us have things in our past that we’d rather not have dredged up. But so far, I’m not seeing substantial investigations by the mainstream legacy media — I’m seeing the same old smear tactics that they resort to when they have nothing else to run with.

A Philadelphia woman was wrongly declared dead by the Social Security Administration. Renee Williams, 66, was shocked during a recent medical checkup when employees at the medical center told her they could not obtain her insurance information because she was declared dead. Williams shared, “They couldn’t get my insurance information. She said she tried several places, and they said it was inactive. They said that I was deceased.” The reason behind Williams’ bizarre circumstance is due to her identity being accidentally placed in the Social Security Administration’s Death Master File. Renee Williams, 66, of Philadelphia, got the unwelcome news during a recent medical appointment. “They couldn’t get my insurance information. She said she tried several places, and they said it was inactive. They said that I was deceased,” she said. Her name seems to have ended up on the Social Security Administration’s Death Master File. She suspects the error happened after her husband died in August. The blunder has not only stopped her Social Security benefits but has caused her to lose access to her bank accounts and health insurance. Williams is not the first person to be incorrectly declared dead by the government. According to the most recent available data, as many as 7,000 Americans wrongly end up on the Death Master File every year. An Office of Inspector General memorandum says that’s an improvement. Erroneous death reports have decreased by 45% since 2011 as all states have moved to electronic reporting. If a person suspects they have been incorrectly listed as deceased on their record, they should contact their local Social Security office as soon as possible. Senator Lindsey Graham has surprisingly come out in defense of Matt Gaetz.  And maybe just as surprisingly, he fact checked CNN live on air in the process! A gaggle of reporters caught up with the Republican Senator from South Carolina today in the Capitol building. CNN specifically asked Graham about the allegations of sexual misconduct against President Trump’s Attorney General appointment, Mike Gaetz — to which Graham shockingly responded with facts, common sense, and none of the limp-wristed lack of backbone he is known for.  Watch the clip! He has so often sided with so-called moderates and the left-leaning democrats that I’m not sure the reporters knew how to handle his sudden stiff pushback against their attempt to use the “but, there are allegations!” smear tactic. Graham specifically said that he feared that Gaetz’ nomination process “is turning into an angry mob”, and mere allegations are being treated as facts, according to a report on Fox News: “My record is clear. I tend to defer to presidential cabinet choices unless the evidence suggests disqualification,” said the South Carolina senator. “I fear the process surrounding the Gaetz nomination is turning into an angry mob, and unverified allegations are being treated as if they are true. I have seen this movie before.” Graham appears to be alluding to the 2018 confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, which was rocked by unproven allegations of sexual assault made by Christine Blasey Ford. Kavanaugh emphatically denied Ford’s claims, and she was never able to identify the time and place of the alleged assault or provide corroborating witnesses to support her account. Kavanaugh was narrowly confirmed, mostly along party lines, after Ford provided emotional testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Graham served as chairman. Senator Graham, to his credit, first showed signs of a backbone a week ago concerning President Trump’s decision to put Matt Gaetz forward as his AG pick. Last Wednesday he said very clearly on Fox News that he is “predisposed” to allowing a President the opportunity to pick their own cabinet without pre-disqualifying candidates based on something as insubstantial as mere allegations. Pfeiffer pinned blame for the allegations squarely on former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, according to a report by CBS News: Accompanied by Vice President-elect JD Vance, a senator from Ohio, Gaetz is sitting down with Republican senators, whose votes will be crucial in confirming him to the position of the nation’s top law enforcement officer next year. The GOP is set to take control of the Senate in the next Congress and hold 53 seats, but Gaetz will need backing from a majority of the chamber to win confirmation. The Republican has denied wrongdoing and called the Ethics probe a “smear.” He has blamed the investigation on former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, whom Gaetz helped oust last year. Considering Gaetz’ history of loyalty to President Trump during the smear campaigns against him over the last few years, it should go without saying that most Congressional democrats are terrified — shaking in their boots — imagining Mike Gaetz at the head of the U.S. Department of Justice. Eric Swalwell (Rep. CA) is not handling the possibility very well at all.  In fact, he is in flat out denial that such a thing could even happen. I… pic.twitter.com/L9FhF1FmmM — TheStormHasArrived (@TheStormRedux) November 13, 2024 The memory of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings may be weighing heavy on those Republicans who would have a vested interested (namely their own re-elections) in avoiding anything resembling a repeat of that witch hunt taking place on their watch, as pointed out by a report in The Hill: Graham appeared to be alluding to sexual assault allegations that were made against conservative Judge Brett Kavanaugh when Trump nominated him to serve on the Supreme Court in 2018. Kavanaugh’s Senate confirmation became bitterly contentious after Christine Blasey Ford accused him of sexually assaulting her decades earlier at a high school party in Bethesda, Md. Kavanaugh was ultimately confirmed on a mostly party-line vote. Some Republicans, including Graham, are starting to deploy the same arguments from that time — that the allegations of sexual misconduct against Gaetz remain unproven. “After years of being investigated by the Department of Justice, no charges were brought against Matt Gaetz. This is something we should all remember,” Graham said in his statement. Graham said he had “a very good meeting” with Gaetz and Vance and pledged the confirmation process to go forward “in a manner consistent with past practices and fundamental fairness.” But as Senator Graham himself stated, that meeting with Graetz and Vance was “a very good meeting”. While I’m not ready to remove the RINO label, it seems as though the Senator from South Carolina, known for straddling the fence, is having a hard time getting away with that tactic at the moment. It appears that President Trump’s sweeping victory, and the unprecedented mandate he is wielding with his bold cabinet picks and nominations, may simply be too much heat for the historical Republican fence-sitters to handle.
