iPadOS 18.2 beta 4 now available with 8 new features

Today, Apple released iPadOS 18.2 beta 3. The company continues to move forward on the iPadOS testing cycle and plans to launch this upcoming software update to users early next month. This build should improve general stability while continuing to master the new Apple Intelligence features. These are the main features available with iPadOS 18.2 beta 3: Genmoji: Create custom emojis by combining two figures; users can type a prompt like “monkey with pink hat” to make an entirely new emoji; here’s how to use it; Image Playground: Users can create playful images in seconds, choosing from Animation, Illustration, or Sketch. This app is built right into apps like Messages and is also available in a dedicated app; having trouble with the waitlist? Despite these Apple Intelligence features, Apple is also adding a few more features to iPadOS 18.2 during the beta test, such as: Find My changes: With beta 2, Apple offers the option to Share Item Location with an “airline or trusted person.” This feature creates a link that lets someone easily access your AirTag’s location. Photos app tweak: Videos in the Photos app no longer zoom in or out when you tap on them. TV app tweak: The TV app navigation bar can be customized. Users can choose their favorite shortcuts to be shown. it’s unclear what else Apple is bringing with iPadOS 18.2. With iOS 18.2, the company is testing an all-new Mail experience. However, it might never be released to iPad users. Here’s what Apple says about this upgrade:  Mail is introducing new ways for users to manage their inboxes. On-device categorization organizes and sorts incoming emails into Primary for personal and time-sensitive emails, Transactions for confirmations and receipts, Updates for news and social notifications, and Promotions for marketing emails and coupons. Mail also features a new digest view that pulls together all of the relevant emails from a business, allowing users to quickly scan for what’s important at the moment. BGR will let you know if we find anything new in today’s iPadOS 18.2 beta. Apple is also releasing the fourth testing versions of iOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2. macOS 15.2 beta 4 comes with expanded Apple Intelligence features

As the testing cycle follows, Apple just released macOS 15.2 beta 4. This upcoming software update adds new Apple Intelligence features while Apple works on improving the system’s general stability. So far, macOS Sequoia 15.2 beta 4 includes the following Apple Intelligence feature: Image Playground: Users can create playful images in seconds, choosing from Animation, Illustration, or Sketch. This app is built right into apps like Messages and is also available in a dedicated app; ChatGPT integration: When you feel Apple Intelligence isn’t enough, you can allow ChatGPT to access Writing Tools and other features for a better response; Create Images expansion: Another Apple Intelligence feature available with macOS 15.2 beta 4 is the ability to create an image when you highlight text in the Notes app. While Genmoji wasn’t available in the first beta versions, we hope Apple adds it to the fourth build. With this feature, you can create custom emojis by combining two figures; users can type a prompt like “monkey with pink hat” to make an entirely new emoji; here’s how to use it. We also don’t know other features Apple is planning for macOS 15.2 beta, which is expected to be released later this year. With macOS 15.1, Apple added iPhone Mirroring improvements and the first Apple Intelligence features, which include: Writing Tools: Proofread your text, rewrite different versions until the tone and wording are right, and summarize the selected text with a tap. Improved Siri: With a new design, Siri can maintain context between requests. Even if you stumble over words or shift what you’re saying mid-sentence, Siri can understand what you actually want. Priority notifications: They appear at the top of the stack, letting you know what to pay attention to at a glance. Notifications are summarized, so you can scan them faster. Clean Up: This feature can identify and remove distracting objects in the background of a photo without accidentally altering the subject. Summarization: Apple Intelligence can now summarize more than just Messages and Mail notifications. Alongside macOS 15.2 beta 4, Apple is seeding the fourth developer’s beta of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2. BGR will update this article once we learn more about the new features. watchOS 11.2 beta 3 now available to Apple Watch developers

A week after releasing the second beta of watchOS 11.2, Apple has seeded its third testing version. At the moment, it’s unclear what’s new with it. Unlike other software updates from Apple, watchOS 11 has already delivered all the features announced at WWDC 2024. With watchOS 11.1, Apple added two Apple Intelligence features powered by iPhone 15 Pro or newer devices, which include: Reduce interruptions: An all-new Focus Mode understands the content of your notifications and shows you the ones that might need immediate attention, like a text about picking up your child from daycare later today. Summarization: Apple Intelligence can summarize all your notifications. Since watchOS 11 is a mild update after a packed watchOS 10 release, it’s unclear what Apple has in store for Apple Watch users. For example, the company unveiled the new sleep apnea detection with watchOS 11. However, it still needs to be rolled out to more countries. With watchOS 11.2 beta 3, we might see it coming to more regions. Apple says sleep apnea is a potentially serious condition where breathing stops repeatedly during sleep. “The condition, which is estimated to impact more than 1 billion people worldwide, goes undiagnosed in most cases. If left untreated, sleep apnea can have important consequences on health, including an increased risk of hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, and cardiac issues.” To detect sleep apnea, the Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to monitor small movements at the wrist that are associated with interruptions in normal respiratory patterns. This is tracked by a new Apple Watch metric called Breathing Disturbances. While some of these disturbances are normal, they are important to track as they can be used to help understand restfulness of sleep and, when occurring frequently over multiple nights, may be associated with sleep apnea. Users can view their nightly Breathing Disturbances in the Health app, where they are classified as elevated or not elevated and can be viewed over a one-month, six-month, or one-year period. Alongside watchOS 11.2 beta 3, Apple also released the third testing version of tvOS 18.2 and visionOS 2.2 a few days ago. We’ll let you know if we find anything new in these betas.
