An Eventful Weekend in Review

President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine over the weekend to strike Russia with U.S.-made missiles. The escalation of our involvement in their war with two months and two days to go in his presidency puts all parties — Russia, Ukraine, the United States — in an uncertain situation. Does Donald Trump presumably canceling this permission slip, given in the 11th hour of the Biden presidency, lead to pre-planned denunciations by Democrats that he let Ukraine lose? Does Putin bide his time for the next two months or does he strike Ukraine hard now? Does this escalation hasten or delay peace talks? Does it make World War III more or less likely? Extra MSG Saturday night’s massive Madison Square Garden ovation, the surreal, surrounding posse that included the richest man on the planet and the speaker of the House of Representatives, and UFC heavyweight titlist Jon Jones offering a Trumpian celebration dance and his championship belt to the president-elect all illustrated the star-power commanded by Donald Trump lacking in his loathsome opposition. Michael Moore: ‘We Are Not a Good People’ Michael Moore illustrated the conditional love — and that’s perhaps a generous assessment — so many American leftists harbor toward this country. When their candidates win, they wave the Stars and Stripes, sing the national anthem, and celebrate the Fourth of July. When their candidates lose, America becomes evil — evil. “If you stop and think about it, we’ve come up with a lot of doozies in our history,” Moore writes. “Like the genocide of 20 million Native Americans. Or the enslavement of 12 million kidnapped Africans. Or us invading Vietnam and killing 4 million Asian people for no reason at all. We are not a good people. We have a non-stop cavalcade, a sordid laundry list of evil deeds that led us directly to last week, to the point where we the people, by popular vote, elected a 34-time convicted felon, a fascist, and a civilly-charged and convicted sexual abuser to be our 47th president of the United States.” Moore lists a number of redundant suggestions for his readers, such as “join something” and stand for immigrants and Palestinians and trans kids. He tellingly neglects to advise walking around the block, rejecting Doritos as one of the four food groups, or using toothpaste. South Poll J. Ann Selzer, the pollster who gauged a 47 percent to 44 percent lead for Kamala Harris in Iowa days before the presidential election, announced her retirement on Sunday. Donald Trump won the state by more than 13 points. “Polling is a science of estimation, and science has a way of periodically humbling the scientist,” she wrote in The Des Moines Register. “So, I’m humbled, yet always willing to learn from unexpected findings.” Citizen Bill Bill Clinton, quiet since Hillary’s loss to Donald Trump in 2016 (and #MeToo, which heated up around the same time), released a post-presidency autobiography called Citizen. The timing, coming days after the election, seems curious. Democrats do not value Bill Clinton as they once did, do they? Anyhow, CBS Sunday Morning featured a segment on the former president. He displays his charm, offers some political wisdom, and speaks in a more tolerant tone than others in his party when discussing the incoming president. Intellectually, the 78-year-old seems sharp. Physically, he appears weak. His voice lacks the power it once commanded. His neck, a la Adam Schiff, looks ready to fall under the weight of his head. His cheerful and warm demeanor offers an example for Democrats, the party of Debbie Downers and Harry Haters, to follow on their path from out of the political wilderness. People like people who like people. Bill Clinton’s political success owes to that truth. Biden Ramps Up Nuclear Brinkmanship On His Way Out The Door

by Caitlin Johnstone, Caitlin Johnstone: The New York Times reports that the Biden administration has authorized Ukraine to use US-supplied long-range missiles to strike Russian and North Korean military targets inside Russia — yet another dangerous escalation of nuclear brinkmanship in this horrific proxy war. The Times correctly notes that authorizing Ukraine to use ATACMS, which have a range […]

Ramaswamy Says Some Government Agencies Will Be ‘Deleted Outright’

from The Epoch Times: ‘We expect mass reductions. We expect certain agencies to be deleted outright,’ he says.
