How to maximize move cooldowns in Palworld

If you’re like me‚ you die a lot in Palworld. Palworld can be brutal and unforgiving even on normal difficulties‚ but you can help yourself by ensuring your Pals attack as often as possible. Here’s how to maximize move cooldowns in Palworld. Getting the most out of active skill recharges/move cooldowns in Palworld There is a little-known tip to ensure your Pals are attacking at their full capacity‚ and it involves mounted Pals. Flying and Ground mount Pals have two different cooldowns for their Active Skills. This means even if your Pal uses a skill while you’re not riding it‚ you can immediately mount them to use it a second time‚ and vice versa. While most skills recharge quickly enough already‚ this is especially valuable for the 150-power slow recharge Active Skills. This allows you to use them twice in a row against powerful enemies like bosses and therefore effectively double your damage output. Cooldown times range from t...

Graham to Social Media Execs: ‘You Have Blood on Your Hands’

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Wednesday told Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other social media executives to their faces‚ “You have blood on your hands” and that their product “is killing people.” The CEOs of the largest social media companies testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about online child exploitation.  The CEOs in the committee hot seat were Zuckerberg of Meta‚ parent company of Facebook and Instagram; Evan Spiegel of Snap; Shou Chew of TikTok Inc.; Linda Yaccarino of X Corp.‚ the social media platform formerly known as Twitter; and Jason Citron of Discord Inc. “Social media companies‚ as they are currently designed and operated‚ are dangerous products‚” said Graham‚ R-S.C.‚ the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. “They are destroying lives‚ threatening democracy itself. These companies must be reined in‚ or the worst is yet to come.” Graham related the story of a teen who was blackmailed through social media messages and eventually killed himself.  “Mr. Zuckerberg‚ you and the companies before us—I know you don’t mean to be so—but you have blood on your hands‚” Graham said to applause in the hearing room.  “You have a product that is killing people. When we had cigarettes killing people‚ we did something about it.” Sen. Graham to Mark Zuckerberg and other Big Tech CEOs at social media hearing: "You have blood on your hands." pic.twitter.com/MiEyaGzs5X— Fred Lucas (@FredLucasWH) January 31‚ 2024 Graham and other senators on the panel suggested repealing Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act that makes social media companies immune from liability for the content users post. “Of all the people in America we could give blanket liability protection to‚ this would be the last group I would pick. It is now time to repeal Section 230‚” the South Carolina lawmaker said.  He added the companies are treated differently than those in any other industry.  “What do you do with dangerous products? You either allow lawsuits‚ you pass statutory protections to protect consumers‚ or you have a commission of sorts to regulate the industry in question‚” Graham said. “To take your license away if you have a license‚ to fine you. None of that exists here. There is no regulatory body to deal with the most profitable‚ biggest companies in the history of the world. They can’t be sued‚ and there is not one law on the books that is meaningful protecting the American consumer. Other than that‚ we are in a good spot.“ During his opening statement‚ Zuckerberg told the Senate panel there is no link between social media use and teen mental health.  “With so much of our lives spent on mobile devices and social media‚ it’s important to look into the effects on teen mental health and well-being. I take this very seriously‚” he said. “Mental health is a complex issue‚ and the existing body of scientific work has not shown a causal link between use of social media and young people having a worse mental health outcomes.” Have an opinion about this article? New Jersey Dad Sues School Over Daughter’s Secret Gender Transition

New Jersey Dad Sues School Over Daughter’s Secret Gender Transition

A father is suing a Garden State school district after his daughter’s gender transition was allegedly kept a secret from him. The father‚ who is remaining anonymous to protect his daughter’s identity‚ found that New Jersey’s Delaware Valley Regional High School had been calling his daughter by a male name and male pronouns for at least two months‚ after a pro-LGBT student club’s staff adviser—who is not licensed to practice either medicine or psychology‚ according to the lawsuit—asked teachers and other school staff‚ faculty‚ and administration to refer to the girl by a male name and male pronouns and not to tell her father. “I was devastated‚” the father said. “If a kid gets a headache in school‚ they have to call the parents to give them Tylenol‚ but they’re going to choose to allow them to identify as something?” He said that his wife died when his daughter was only 4 years old‚ and his daughter has been in treatment for depression and anxiety since 2022. She has also been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome‚ attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder‚ and borderline personality disorder‚ prompting her doctors to agree to a “cautious approach” regarding her gender-identity confusion. The father says he only learned of his daughter’s social transition when a neighbor and fellow parent accidentally told him. The neighbor referred to the girl by her male name‚ and the father asked‚ “What the hell are you talking about?” The father removed his daughter from DVRHS and began homeschooling her. He said that LGBT activists in the school system showed her a “fantasyland” version of transgenderism‚ and once he showed his daughter photos and videos of the reality of gender-transition surgeries‚ she began crying. Last month‚ the father met with DVRHS staff to inform them of his daughter’s mental health history‚ but was told that the school district would continue to use a male name and male pronouns for his daughter unless she requested that they stop. The girl’s therapist and doctor both approved of removing her from DVRHS. In comments to The Washington Stand‚ Meg Kilgannon‚ Family Research Council’s senior fellow for education studies‚ said‚ “These cases are becoming more and more common. And while some of the details are the same‚ the overall situation is still shocking.” She explained‚ “Children who have their names changed at school by teachers and are treated as the opposite sex or an imagined gender are not able to consent to these therapies. Social transition is made to seem harmless and reversible by school counselors and gender activists‚ but it’s neither of those things.” Last summer‚ a poll showed that a majority of New Jersey voters—including a majority of Democrats—support mandatory parental notification policies for students’ attempted gender transitions in schools. Another poll found that parental notification requirements were supported by a majority of Americans nationwide. But New Jersey Department of Education’s official guidelines say‚ “There is no affirmative duty for any school district personnel to notify a student’s parent or guardian of the student’s gender identity or expression.” Although the guidelines are not state law‚ lawyers say that they are enforced by state anti-discrimination laws. According to an updated list from Parents Defending Education‚ nearly 1‚100 school districts across the U.S. have policies in place prohibiting teachers from telling parents about students’ gender-transition attempts. The majority of those school districts are in California‚ where Attorney General Rob Bonta‚ a Democrat‚ has actually sued school districts for keeping parents informed. The U.S. is increasingly alone in its support of gender-transition procedures for children. Last month‚ the U.K.’s Department of Education introduced new guidelines not only demanding that parents be notified and involved in students’ social gender transitions‚ but also that teachers wait a period of time before agreeing to even consider a student’s request to be called by a new name or pronouns‚ in order to ensure the decision is made after careful consideration over time. A report last summer also declared the U.S. an “outlier” among Western nations‚ where gender-transition procedures for minors were concerned. A number of liberal nations have backed away from the subject—including France‚ Sweden‚ Finland‚ and the U.K. The New Jersey father’s lawsuit names the DVRHS Board of Education‚ Superintendent Scott McKinney‚ School Counselor Ashley Miranda‚ New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin‚ acting Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education Angelica Allen-McMillan‚ and other school staff and administrators. The case will be heard by the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Originally published by The Washington Stand Have an opinion about this article? Easy Stuffed Dates with Goat Cheese‚ Nuts‚ Honey and Thyme

Are you looking for a delicious‚ unique‚ and healthy snack or party appetizer idea? Look no further than this easy vegetarian stuffed dates recipe! Filled with creamy goat cheese‚ crunchy nuts‚ a sweet drizzle of honey‚ and savory pop of thyme‚ these stuffed dates hit ALL the right spots. Even better‚ this raw appetizer idea comes together quickly – no cooking required. We recently brought these goat cheese stuffed dates to a holiday party‚ and they were the most popular item at the table! Are stuffed dates good for you? Dates boast a variety of nutritional benefits. They’re high in fiber‚ antioxidants‚ and vitamin B6‚ as well as essential minerals like copper‚ magnesium‚ manganese‚ and potassium. Dates do contain a good amount of natural sugars‚ so as a Type 1 diabetic I have to be careful not to eat toooo many. Yet the addition of goat cheese and nuts bring a nice balance of savory protein to offset the sweetness of the dates. Compared to most appetizers or party snacks‚ I’d say these vegetarian stuffed dates are a pretty darn healthy option! Ingredients to make vegetarian stuffed dates Dates. Medjool dates are the biggest and best‚ and also the easiest to stuff! We buy organic Medjool dates at our local Costco. Goat cheese. Use the soft spreadable type (usually available in logs) not a block of firm cheddar-like goat cheese. I used about one 11-ounce log of goat cheese to stuff about 40 large dates. Nuts of choice. Walnuts‚ pecans‚ pistachios‚ or slivered almonds are all fantastic options for these vegetarian stuffed dates. With walnuts and pecans‚ you can either use pieces or halves – placing one half on each date. Honey for drizzling. Raw local honey is a wonderful option! For this particular platter‚ we used homemade fermented jalapeño-infused honey‚ which brought a tasty little kick of heat to the stuffed dates! Learn how to make infused honey in this post (it’s made the same way‚ just substitute sliced jalapeños instead of garlic). Optional: a handful of fresh thyme to sprinkle on top Tips before getting started It’s easiest to stuff the dates with goat cheese when it’s slightly softened. So‚ take the goat cheese out of the refrigerator an hour or two before you plan to make stuffed dates if possible. For the sake of food safety‚ please don’t leave it out for more than three to four hours though! If you want to make these ahead of time‚ I recommend the following: Pit and stuff the dates with goat cheese in advance‚ and then store them in the refrigerator. If it’s only a few hours in advance‚ go ahead and add the nuts early too. To make them a day in advance‚ wait to add the nuts until closer to the time of serving so they don’t get soft. Both the dates and goat cheese will become quite firm when they’re cold. Therefore‚ I recommend lightly warming them in the oven before serving to improve the texture and flavor. Heat the cold stuffed dates for only 5 to 8 minutes on 350°F – just enough to take the chill off‚ but NOT melt the cheese! Wait to add honey and thyme until the time of serving. Instructions First‚ remove the pits from the dates. Do so by cutting a slit down one side of the date‚ gently prying it open‚ and removing the pit with your fingers. Some dates have a hard little nubby stem at the top that should be removed too. Next‚ use a spoon or butter knife to press a dollop of goat cheese into the center of each date. It’s not important to measure. I like to use enough to completely fill the void inside the date plus have a little extra sticking out (spreading the date slightly open) for toppings to stick to. Add nuts to each stuffed date (e.g. a half a pecan‚ or pinch of walnut pieces). Lightly press the nuts into the goat cheese to stick. Spread the stuffed dates out on a plate or serving platter. If you’re going to add honey‚ lining the plate or tray parchment paper first will help make for an easy clean-up! Next‚ add a light drizzle of honey over the stuffed dates. Tip: If your honey is cool and firm‚ set the jar of honey in a bowl of hot water. This will warm it up and make it easier to drizzle. Avoid heating honey directly (don’t microwave it) as heat will kill the beneficial properties of honey. Finally‚ sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over everything (washed and stems removed.) Thyme adds a wonderful pop of flavor to the stuffed dates‚ and also makes the platter look even more pretty! Serve and enjoy! And that is how you make your new favorite party appetizer! Lol‚ you’re welcome. I hope you (and your friends and family) enjoy this easy vegetarian stuffed dates recipe as much as we do. New York Judge Rejects Madison Square Garden’s Bid To Dismiss Biometric Privacy Case Involving Facial Recognition

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. A New York judge has denied Madison Square Garden Entertainment’s motion to dismiss a biometric privacy lawsuit. The litigation revolves around a contentious policy‚ enacted by MSGE‚ which deployed facial recognition technology to prohibit certain attorneys from gaining entry into the entertainment giant’s renowned venues. The lawsuit‚ had previously survived MSGE’s initial attempt to dismiss it. The entertainment firm once again finds itself rebuffed in the District Court for the Southern District of New York‚ despite raising multiple arguments pleading for a dismissal. In the core of the dispute lies MSGE’s use of facial scanning systems. Initially installed to deter individuals deemed dangerous‚ the company made adjustments to the dataset on June 22. Following these changes‚ the system started pinpointing specified lawyers‚ citing claims that these attorneys – typically tied to firms currently in litigation against MSGE—might be present on MSGE premises for lawsuit-related duties. The suit will move forward‚ as ruled by the presiding judge‚ focusing on whether MSGE’s tactics violate the city’s Biometric Identifier Information Protection Law. Even though the judge acknowledged MSGE’s rationale for wanting to dismiss the plaintiffs’ claims of civil rights violations and unjust enrichment‚ the alleged breach of the city’s biometrics statute remains a query. The judge found credence in the plaintiffs’ assertion that MSGE could “profit” from executing face scans on the specified attorneys‚ which might contravene the city’s biometric policy. This argument contends that any profits accrued by company executives from these scans – attributed to dissuading litigation and hence curbing MSGE’s significant legal costs – indeed poses a potential breach of the law.
