Hillary Clinton Weighs In on Oscars Controversy as Robbie and Gerwig Miss Out on Nods

In a move that has sparked considerable conversation across social media platforms‚ former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took to the digital sphere to express her dismay over the recent Oscars snub of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig. The absence of nominations for best director and best actress for these prominent figures in the film industry has not gone unnoticed‚ with Clinton’s commentary adding fuel to the ongoing debate about the Academy’s selection process. Clinton’s reaction is indicative of a broader sentiment that permeates certain circles in Hollywood and beyond—a sentiment that often aligns with progressive stances on representation and recognition in the arts. Her engagement with the topic underscores an enduring connection to cultural conversations‚ even as she remains a figure primarily associated with political spheres. Hillary Clinton is offering her support to "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie following their Oscars snub. "While it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold‚ your millions of fans love you." https://t.co/zTFt88q5zc pic.twitter.com/HdDyQkDLzk — CBS News (@CBSNews) January 25‚ 2024 The snub of Robbie and Gerwig has reignited discussions about the criteria and biases that may influence the Academy’s decisions. Critics argue that the lack of nominations for these talented women reflects a persistent undervaluing of female contributions to cinema‚ a critique that resonates with those who advocate for gender parity in all professional realms. While some may view Clinton’s input as a welcome show of support for underrepresented voices in the film industry‚ others might interpret it as another instance of celebrity politicking. The intersection of politics and entertainment has long been a contentious issue‚ with debates about whether public figures should use their platforms to weigh in on such matters. Hillary Clinton was roasted after she bizarrely tried to insert herself into the controversy over the Barbie movie not receiving Oscar nominations in key categories.https://t.co/DWBCDhjYrj — Paul Joseph Watson (@PrisonPlanet) January 25‚ 2024 The Oscars controversy also brings to light the question of meritocracy in the arts. Are awards truly reflective of the highest achievements‚ or do they mirror a more complex web of industry politics‚ personal connections‚ and subjective tastes? This incident serves as a reminder that accolades in any field are not immune to scrutiny and that the court of public opinion often holds significant sway. As the conversation continues‚ it is clear that the Oscars snub has implications beyond the immediate disappointment of fans and industry peers. It touches on broader themes of inclusivity‚ fairness‚ and the role of awards in shaping cultural legacies. Whether or not one agrees with Clinton’s stance‚ her involvement speaks to the enduring impact of these issues. In the wake of this development‚ many will be watching closely to see how the Academy responds to the criticism and whether future nominations will reflect a shift towards greater diversity and acknowledgment of a wider range of talents. For now‚ the discourse surrounding the Oscars snub remains a microcosm of larger societal debates—a testament to the power of film as a medium that both reflects and influences the world in which we live. Ultimately‚ the absence of Robbie and Gerwig from the list of Oscar nominees this year has catalyzed a discussion that transcends the entertainment industry. It has become a touchstone for conversations about equality‚ recognition‚ and the ever-evolving landscape of cultural appreciation. As such‚ it is a narrative that will likely continue to unfold in the public eye‚ with or without the commentary of political figures. Boyfriend Doesn’t Let A Broken Finger Stop Him From Proposing In Ambulance.

No matter how hard we may try‚ not everything can go according to plan. Still‚ sometimes even the most unfortunate turn of events can’t take away from an otherwise perfect day. This is certainly the case for the day that Angela Gayle’s boyfriend proposed. That same day‚ however‚ is also when he got a broken finger. With the help of loved ones‚ this romantic fellow spends the day prepping for the proposal. While doing so‚ he ends up smashing his finger in the car door‚ something that Angela says “tore his finger up.” So much so‚ in fact‚ that they call an ambulance. TikTok When this happens‚ they let Angela know — about the finger‚ that is‚ not the proposal. In fact‚ even though it seems he’ll need stitches‚ this sweet guy stays set on popping the question. Luckily‚ someone is around to capture the moment. Naturally‚ her focus is on making sure that he’s okay. For this nervous guy‚ however‚ he’s more concerned with what he’s about to do next. “I love you‚ and I want to spend the rest of my life with you‚” he says‚ fighting back tears. “Can I spend the rest of my life with you?” Clearly overwhelmed with a million emotions‚ Angela gives a resounding “yeah!” TikTok Since their unique proposal went viral‚ folks are pointing out how much they adore Angela’s fiancé. They’re also taking note of her absolutely stunning ring! What matters to her the most‚ though‚ is getting to spend her life with such an amazing person. “In the middle of him preparing the proposal he smashed his finger in the car door and tore his finger up… he still called this a win‚” Angela says. Snoot Boops: The Extremely Scientific Way Vets Get Leopard Geckos To Open Wide.

Leopard geckos are amazing little pets. The folks at Chewy recommend them as a great “starter” pet for beginners. They are easy to care for‚ have low maintenance needs‚ and are absolutely adorable. You’ll still need to research to learn about this species to provide proper care. There are 2‚000 different types of geckos worldwide‚ although not all are suitable as pets. You will also need a veterinarian who works with lizards and knows how to care for them. Veterinarians have specific training based on their specialty area. A general practitioner vet typically works with more conventional household pets. Many are adding reptiles‚ including lizards‚ to their patient list and getting special training to handle these tiny reptiles. Image from TikTok. Part of the training vets receive with leopard geckos is the unique method of coercing them to open wide during an exam. Unlike humans‚ you can’t just jam a tongue depressor in their mouth. Image from TikTok. During a recent classroom demonstration‚ the vet instructor was showing students the proper way to get a leopard gecko to open its mouth during an exam. Passing this little guy from instructor to student‚ he looks slightly stressed‚ but he is in good hands. The instructor explains what the student should do‚ and the hands-on experience begins. Image from TikTok. This technique‚ known as the “Snoot Boop‚” is the most reliable way to get the little lizard to open wide for an examination. When you’re in vet school‚ this is one of the unmentioned benefits of the training. You have the privilege of snoot booping the cutest of the cute! Now… say‚ “Aaaaaaa.” Image from TikTok. You can check out the full process here: @nocoherpsociety no geckos were harmed in the administration of snoot boops ♬ original sound – NOCO Herpetological Society Who Knew A Leopard Gecko Would Respond Like That To A Snoot Boop? That has to be the most adorable little snoot boop of a leopard gecko on the planet! If you have a pet leo‚ we don’t recommend doing this too often. Maybe once‚ to see the cuteness firsthand‚ but after that‚ leave this trick to the pros. Doing this too often will get your pet accustomed to the booping and they may not react when the vet really needs to see their mouth. If you enjoyed learning this bit of leo trivia‚ please share it with other reptile lovers. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. Fascinating Species of 200 Million-year-old Flying Reptile Discovered in Britain

In fantasy fiction‚ the dragon is one of the most common mythical beasts‚ but these giant flying lizards defy the reality that flying lizards have actually been found on Earth through many once upon a times—they were just really small. Case and point is this small fry from 200 million years ago‚ a Kuehneosaur‚ a flying […] The post Fascinating Species of 200 Million-year-old Flying Reptile Discovered in Britain appeared first on Good News Network.
