Published 2024-11-11
A 37-year-old Egyptian citizen is charged with murdering his two children in Södertälje in April this year. This is evident from court documents that Samnytt has seen.
According to the indictment, the 37-year-old murdered his two children, a nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl, by putting a bag over their heads and then filling the bags with helium. The children have died from lack of oxygen.

The prosecutor writes of both murders that they were "preceded by careful planning and were particularly reckless".
Multi-ethnic family
The deceased children's mother, a 40-year-old woman from Ecuador who has been a Swedish citizen since 2020, was initially also suspected of crime. However, she was released fairly immediately when it became clear that she had nothing to do with the double murder.
The 37-year-old Egyptian has lived in Sweden since 2009 and has on repeated occasions unsuccessfully tried to obtain a residence permit. He finally managed to stay since he married the Hispanic woman. The couple have since separated from each other this summer.
The prosecutor has demanded that the 37-year-old child killer, if convicted, be deported from Sweden for life after serving his sentence.
