Sacré Bleu! Newsweek’s Josh Hammer Rips That French Guy at NYT For Incoherent Woke DEI Babble

The New York Times columnist David French has debased himself to become the Paul Krugman of the culture wars by being consistently on the wrong side of the argument. French‚ the pompous NeverTrumper‚ lectured in his latest piece of propaganda that the “Actual Danger” of Diversity‚ Equity and Inclusion – already embroiling universities and workplaces – wasn’t the ideology itself. Instead‚ he pointed to the “unconstitutional” way in which DEI was being “advanced” through speech codes and other restrictive measures. But French still proceeded to ridiculously defend the concept. French led-off his Jan. 14 op-ed claiming that “[DEI] — like the related progressive concepts of wokeness and critical race theory — used to have an agreed-upon meaning but has now been essentially redefined on the populist right.” [Emphasis added.] Given that DEI is inherently nebulous‚ it’s unclear where French got the idea that there was some universally accepted definition out there. Newsweek Senior Editor-at-Large Josh Hammer tore into French’s argument in a Jan. 14 X post: “In what world did DEI ever have an ‘agreed-upon meaning?’ Are you kidding‚ ⁦@DavidAFrench⁩?.”  In comments to MRC Business‚ Hammer ripped French further for genuflecting to his overlords at The Times by regurgitating leftist drivel. “David French continues to beclown himself‚ seemingly reaching yet another new low with every new column‚” he said. “There is no lie too egregious for him to spout‚ if it gains him favor in the eyes of his liberal paymasters.”  In what world did DEI ever have an “agreed-upon meaning?” Are you kidding‚ ⁦@DavidAFrench⁩? pic.twitter.com/MeKZWHWBgg — Josh Hammer (@josh_hammer) January 14‚ 2024 Hammer is right on point. French even engaged in a bit of self-hating anti-white agitprop to validate the “D” component of DEI: “[T]he immense backlash from parts of the right against almost any diversity initiative is a sign of the extent to which millions of white Americans are content with their vastly disproportionate share of national wealth and power.” Hammer concluded: “At this point‚ we can reasonably expect him to campaign for AOC for president in 2028 or 2032.” If French is that adamant about “white American” privilege‚ why doesn’t he give up his lucrative Times column to a minority writer more worthy of the space than he is? After all‚ one should “practice what one preaches‚” right?  To prove his point about the darned‚ ruling “white Americans‚” French linked out to a report from the Federal Reserve of St. Louis‚ which conveniently excluded Asian Americans and other minorities from its analysis to make it appear that “white Americans” were the dominant race when it came to racial wealth disparity.  The problem for French is‚ they aren’t. Pew Research Center reported in December 2023 that “Asian households overall had more wealth than other households two years since the start of the pandemic.” Pew Research added‚ “In 2021‚ Asian households had a median net worth of $320‚900‚ compared with $250‚400 for White households.” Is that still “vastly disproportionate” according to French’s logic or does that only apply when it concerns his self-loathing smear of white Americans? Asking for a friend.  In French’s view‚ the leftist concepts of Diversity‚ Equity and Inclusion were “all vital values.”  Apparently‚ French is ignorant to the fact that the terms in “DEI” have been hijacked to push leftist politics onto employees and students alike‚ and the outcomes of such initiatives have not been worth the resources. As Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Chris Rufo pointed out in a July 2023 Times column: Even on its own terms‚ does D.E.I. actually work? And the answer‚ according to the best available evidence‚ appears to be no. Researchers at Harvard and Tel Aviv University studied 30 years of diversity training data from more than 800 U.S. companies and concluded that mandatory diversity training programs had practically no effect on employee attitudes — and sometimes activated bias and feelings of racial hostility. There is no reason to believe that similar programs on university campuses have better outcomes. Jack Miller‚ president of the Jack Miller Center‚ wrote in an April 2023 piece repudiating DEI as a concept that “the meaning of words can change over time‚” a fact that apparently flew over French’s head. “Rather than the Founders’ vision of equal opportunity for all‚ the use of the word ‘equity’ today denotes equal outcomes for all. The implementation of this ‘equity agenda‚’ however well-intentioned‚ will lead to terrible consequences.” But for French‚ DEI is just “another catchall boogeyman” for the populist right. French appears to be hopelessly plagued by the “Woke Mind Virus‚” and it doesn’t seem like he’s recovering from it any time soon.  After all‚ this is the same French who called children’s Drag Queen Story Hour “one of the blessings of liberty.” He also notoriously castigated Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) for issuing a directive treating the pharmaceutical and surgical castration of children as “abuse” “regardless of the good faith and desires of the parents‚ children and caregivers involved.” It’s not surprising that he’s out with a new terrible take on DEI. [Emphasis added.] Conservatives are under attack. Contact The New York Times and demand it report the truth about the leftist concept of DEI and its dangers for workplaces and universities across the U.S.

United Airlines Hiring Pilots Based on Skin and Gender

This is not a flex‚ bro. The CEO of United Airlines‚ Scott Kirby‚ was interviewed by Axios on the HBO channel back in June of 2021. After the reposted video went viral this weekend‚ United is raking in tons of backlash over Kirby boasting that gender and racial quotas are one of his main considerations when determining who will pilot his airplanes. .@United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby explains aviator academy diversity requirements: "We've committed that 50% of the classes will be women or people of color." Airline pilots should be selected based on merit. pic.twitter.com/aPnFC2ZUwD — MRCTV (@mrctv) January 15‚ 2024 “We have committed that 50 percent of the classes will be women or people of color‚” Kirby said confidently when asked about United’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion guidelines back in 2021. “Today‚ only 19 percent of our pilots at United Airlines are women or people of color. And by the way‚ from all the data I’ve seen‚ that’s the highest of any airline in the country‚” Kirby added. “White males don’t just dominate in the cockpits‚” the Axios reporter added.  Yeah‚ so essentially the airline is picking pilots based on skin color and what’s in a person’s pants‚ not their merit or skill. Related: 'No Justice‚ No Peace!' Sharpton Leads Protest Against Hedge Fund Billionaire Targeting DEI  Frankly‚ I don’t care what color skin you have or what your naked body looks like. I just want you to be a good‚ safe‚ and qualified pilot if I am going to comfortably get on your plane! Many users shared that sentiment on social media. “This is insane‚” ACT for America Founder Brigitte Gabriel wrote.  “Why not just pick the best pilot? People want a safe &; competent pilot. They don't care what color or race they are. Pick the best pilot‚” another posted. More chimed in about how unsafe this tactic is. “He doesn’t care whether or not they can effectively fly an airplane - all that matters is race and gender. DEI is going to get people killed‚” Michael Seifert‚ Public Square CEO and founder‚ wrote. Another said‚ “Air travel is about to get turbulent‚ keep your seat belts on.” These people are right! I don’t want someone flying my plane just because they’re a black woman! I want them to be good at flying and if they just so happen to be a black woman‚ great! If not‚ who freakin' cares?! Frank Luntz visibly squirms as he is forced to admit Trump is the favorite to win 2024 election: 'The guy's a survivor'

Pollster Frank Luntz declared last year that Donald Trump "could never win" the 2024 presidential election. Now‚ Luntz says he would bet six figures that Trump does win.Speaking on a New York Times podcast‚ Luntz said last May:If Donald Trump runs for president‚ as a Republican‚ he’s the odds-on favorite to win the nomination. He could never win a general election. But I can’t imagine losing a Republican primary. That’s how significant he is within the GOP. ... I would bet on him to be the nominee. And I would bet on him losing to whatever Democratic nominee there was.But the Republican pollster now believes Trump is the odds-on favorite to win the 2024 election. In a video posted to social media last week‚ Luntz is asked‚ "If you had to bet $150‚000 on who's gonna win in November‚ who would you bet on?"Clearly uncomfortable with what he was about to say‚ Luntz squirmed as he admitted that he would bet the large sum of money on Trump to defeat President Joe Biden in a re-match."I never dreamed that I would say this‚ but I would bet on Trump‚" Luntz admitted"Never — I thought it was done. I thought it was over. You don't come back from an impeachment. You don't come back from Jan. 6. You don't come back from any of this‚ but he's come back‚" he explained. "The guy's a survivor‚ and his opponent is having so much trouble that I would‚ at this point‚ give the edge to Trump." — (@) The admission is significant‚ not only because it demonstrates a complete departure from what Luntz said just eight months ago‚ but because it came from someone who has not hidden his disdain for Trump. But Luntz has also maintained that he will not shy away from reporting the truth."I’m going to make a lot of people mad this year with my observations. But @FrankLuntz will be the place to check if you want the truth‚" Luntz said in response to the video of his prediction going viral.Indeed‚ there is no way an honest pollster can deny what the polls have shown for months: Trump is surging‚ and Biden is a deeply unpopular incumbent who will have a difficult time repeating a victory. Airplanes will continue breaking if we don't abandon THIS

On January 5‚ Boeing secured a place in the spotlight again when a door plug fell off an Alaska Airlines jet mid-flight. The company has gone from the poster child of engineering to a company facing possible bankruptcy‚ and author Porter Stansberry believes the downward spiral is due to two major decisions. First‚ Stansberry notes that Boeing switched its focus from engineering to “financial engineering‚” and then the company fully embraced ESG. “Boeing’s planes began falling out of the sky as a result‚” Stansberry writes. The company isn’t just taking a hit when it comes to quality‚ but with its finances as well. The cumulative net income of the company over the last three years is negative $20 billion‚ and the company has $52 billion now in total debt. In addition‚ Boeing’s interest expense is a whopping $2.5 billion a year. The company’s chief operating officer is Stephanie Pope‚ who has zero engineering background. “Now‚ why would someone with this kind of background be placed in charge of operations in the world’s leading aerospace engineering firm? Maybe it’s because she is the executive sponsor of Boeing’s Women Inspiring Leadership‚” Stansberry explains. The group is dedicated to “increasing gender diversity awareness.” “Boeing’s planes keep falling apart‚” he writes. “These outcomes are the results of years and years of bad ideas — starting with the intentional destruction of Boeing’s engineering culture‚ followed by the GE-style financial engineering‚ and now the company’s full embrace of modern Marxism — ESG.” Glenn Beck is in 100% agreement with Stansberry‚ noting that this destruction won’t just come for airplanes. “Until our government gets away from this craziness‚ America’s republic will keep falling out of the sky‚” he says. Fani Willis paints allegations of misconduct and home-wrecking as racist

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis broke her silence Sunday after a week of criticism over allegations of misconduct behind the scenes of Trump's Georgia election interference case as well as of home-wrecking. In her Sunday address to a congregation at Big Bethel AME Church in Atlanta‚ Willis denied neither allegations of bedding a married subordinate nor of taking fancy trips on his dime. She also did not deny the suggestion that she coordinated with elements of the Biden White House and Jan. 6 committee to take down the Democratic president's top rival. Rather‚ the Democratic DA attempted to cast herself as a victim of racial animus‚ one who has been selected for greatness by God. What's the background? A motion was filed Jan. 8 to disqualify Willis and her alleged lover‚ special prosecutor Nathan Wade‚ from prosecuting the election interference case of one of former President Donald Trump's co-defendants in Georgia‚ Michael Roman. The motion claimed that Willis‚ who has since been subpoenaed to testify in Wade's divorce case‚ was embroiled in "an improper‚ clandestine personal relationship" with Wade — a married attorney she appointed without the approval of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners as required by law — whose apparent lack of experience has been subjected to greater scrutiny in recent days. The motion further alleged that Willis' "apparent intentional failure to disclose her conflict of interest to Fulton County and the Court‚ combined with her decision to employ the special prosecutor based on her own personal interests may well be an act to defraud the public of honest services since the district attorney 'personally benefitted from an undisclosed conflict of interest.'" Extra to exposing Willis to a possible federal criminal investigation‚ the motion prompted additional concerns over the Biden White House's direct involvement in the prosecution of the Republican front-runner. Blaze News previously noted that Willis and Wade met with elements of the Biden White House before and after their recommendation of charges against Trump at taxpayers' expense. The duo also appear to have coordinated with Jan. 6 committee staff over the period of months when building their case against Trump in Georgia. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a complaint with Gov. Brian Kemp and Georgia AG Carr Wednesday‚ requesting that they order "the immediate and formal criminal investigation into the alleged criminal misconduct" by Willis‚ along with Wade. Victims of a closer look Willis set the stage early in her 35-minute address Saturday by suggesting that Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream was still a "work in progress" and that "Americans have normalized ... cruelty‚ they've normalized bigotry‚ they've normalized hate." According to Willis‚ critiques of her leadership and hiring decisions are motivated not by concerns over fairness‚ lawfulness‚ or conflicts of interest‚ but by hate — specifically‚ racial animus. "They call me the N-word more than they call me Fani‚" said Willis. "[God‚] you did not tell me as a woman of color it would not matter what I did. My motive‚ my talent‚ my ability‚ and my character would be constantly attacked." — (@) The Democratic DA made clear who she had in mind when denouncing her critics: "God‚ I do not want to be like those that attack me. I never want to be a Marjorie Taylor Greene who has never met me but has allowed her spirit to be filled with hate. ... How did such a woman come to think that it was normal and normalized that another woman was worthy of such cruelty?" After painting Greene as a villain and suggesting God used the congresswoman to test her‚ Willis attempted to drum up sympathy‚ recalling the recent instance where she was allegedly swatted — something Greene has been subjected to several times. Willis then singled out Fulton County Commissioner Bridget Thorne for criticizing her appointment of Wade. According to the DA‚ those critical of Wade's appointment were "playing the race card." "I'm a little confused. I appointed three special counselors. It's my right to do. Paid them all the same hourly rate. They only attacked one‚" said Willis. "I hired one white woman‚ a good personal friend and a great lawyer; a superstar‚ I tell you. I hired one white man — brilliant — my friend and a great lawyer. And I hired one Black man‚ another superstar‚ a great friend and a great lawyer." There are presently no allegations that Willis had an affair with the other special counselors or traveled the world at their expense. Willis went on to defend Wade's "impeccable credentials" without naming him‚ saying‚ "The Black [man] I chose has been a judge for more than 10 years; run a private practice more than 20; represented businesses and civil litigation. ... Served a prosecutor‚ a criminal defense lawyer‚ special assistant attorney general." Wade was formerly a prosecutor in Cobb County‚ where he never prosecuted a felony case‚ according to the motion. Newsweek noted that Willis' alleged lover ran three times to become a judge in Cobb County Superior Court between 2012 and 2016 but failed in all three instances. Politico reported that Willis' "impeccable" pick was found in contempt in August 2023 for "willfully" defying a court order‚ having refused to turn over documents concerning his income. The income of interest appears to have been the nearly $700‚000 Wade has been paid from the Fulton County DA's office‚ which Willis signs off on. Willis stressed‚ "You cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world. We need to be allowed to stumble." The Democratic DA is scheduled to stumble into Wade's acrimonious divorce proceedings to testify on Jan. 23. Roman's defense attorney who filed the motion‚ Ashleigh Merchant‚ told WSB-TV over the weekend that she has eyewitnesses who can confirm Willis' affair with Wade. "I would never have filed something like this if I didn’t have multiple sources to corroborate‚" said Merchant. "We look forward to litigating this motion in court where we can bring forward all of our evidence." Jeff DiSantis‚ a spokesman for Willis' office‚ maintains that her office will respond to the allegations in court filings. Like Blaze News? 'Hellhounds coming for you': Loved ones of grandmother murdered in carjacking blast her 'demon' teen killer at his sentencing

Loved ones of a 73-year-old grandmother murdered in a 2022 New Orleans carjacking during which her arm was torn off blasted her "demon" teen killer at his sentencing Friday‚ in which he got life in prison.'Hellhounds coming for you'Kathy Richard — a sister-in-law of the victim‚ Linda Frickey — said she'd fight to keep 18-year-old John Honore behind bars if he ever appears before the Louisiana Board of Pardons and Parole‚ NOLA.com reported."When you take your last breath‚ may the only thing you hear be the hellhounds coming for you‚ to drag your a** back down to where you belong‚" Richard said to Honore — who was 17 at the time of the carjacking — at the hearing‚ according to NOLA. "Personally‚ I hope you don’t make it out of [prison] and that those hellhounds come after you quick."Jinnylynn Frickey‚ Frickey's sister‚ said outside the courthouse that Honore "got what he deserved."“He’s a little jerk‚ he’s a little punk‚ OK? And he deserves to go where he's going. He is a demon‚ and God saw that demon that day‚ and that’s how ... Linda’s arm got severed ... we put away the demons now. And the future demons‚ they better look out because the DA’s office is not playing anymore‚" Frickey added. What's the background?Frickey on March 21‚ 2022‚ was dragged for a block next to her stolen vehicle‚ her arm was torn off‚ and she died of blunt force injuries on the street‚ NOLA reported in a previous story‚ citing a coroner’s report. It took a day for police to arrest the four teenagers involved in the carjacking‚ NOLA said‚ adding that some of their parents turned them in. District Attorney Jason Williams decided to charge all four as adults‚ and all four were charged with second-degree murder and faced life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years‚ the outlet said.According to prosecutors‚ Honore — who was the only one to plead not guilty — punched and kicked Frickey‚ threw her from her SUV‚ then got behind the steering wheel while Frickey was caught in a seatbelt‚ NOLA said. The other three teens — Briniyah Baker‚ 17‚ Lenyra Theophile‚ 16‚ and Mar'Qel Curtis‚ 16 — pleaded guilty to reduced charges of attempted manslaughter on the day their November murder trial was set to begin. They each were sentenced to 20 years in prison.A jury deliberated four hours in a one-day trial Nov. 27 before convicting Honore of second-degree murder‚ NOLA said.On Friday‚ Criminal District Court Judge Kimya Holmes handed down Honore's mandatory life sentence‚ the outlet reported. Because Honore was 17‚ a juvenile‚ at the time of Frickey's killing‚ NOLA said Honore will have a chance of parole after 25 years. The outlet noted that he wasn't eligible for the death penalty because the U.S. Supreme Court in 2005 outlawed execution of minors. While NOLA said a number of individuals took the stand in Honore's defense‚ noting that his difficult upbringing contributed to his poor decisions‚ a WDSU-TV video report indicated that a jailhouse phone call was played in court during which Honore was heard "rapping" and making a comment directed to prosecutors saying "forget those people." 'Echo' tops of the list of worst Marvel productions yet

Marvel’s latest TV mini-series‚ “Echo‚” just dropped on Disney+ last week‚ and it’s already making waves‚ which isn’t that surprising when you consider Marvel’s downward spiral into wokeness. The series revolves around Maya Lopez – an indigenous‚ deaf female amputee – who becomes Kingpin’s top hit man. “I guess [Kingpin is] like really into DEI‚” mocks Lauren Chen. “If the obvious ESG push behind the show wasn't enough to just kind of give you pause‚” she explains‚ there have also been “reports of production issues as well as Disney being so unhappy with the final product that they even considered not releasing the show at all and instead just taking the loss as a tax credit.” “I've watched it‚” Lauren admits‚ and “I've got to say‚ if I were Disney‚ I probably would have taken the tax credit.” After a series of tragic life events‚ Maya ends up working for her father’s mob boss‚ Kingpin‚ in order to avenge his gruesome death. Given that Maya is Kingpin’s muscle‚ she’s doubly disabled‚ and the fact that this is a Marvel production‚ one would think Maya must have incredible superpowers. But no. Maya’s vague superpower is that she can connect with her ancestors’ abilities when she finds herself in dire situations. This strange supernatural gift was a drastic diversion from Maya’s original powers in the comic books‚ however. “The director behind the show was very clear that she believed Echo’s comic book powers were ‘lame‚”’ explains Lauren‚ admitting that she’s “still not 100% sure what [Echo’s powers] exactly are” in the TV adaptation. “Essentially Echo’s powers in this series equate to her maybe having had an energy drink. … Sis had a Red Bull‚ so she's a little more focused‚ a little more confident‚” she criticizes‚ adding that it’s clear that the writers and producers “didn't want to make a Marvel series; they wanted to make a series focusing on disabled people or the Choctaw nation.” According to Lauren‚ Maya’s powers were so vague and underdeveloped that “if you were to remove [them] entirely from the plot‚ the show could still happen and basically remain unchanged.” But that’s just the beginning of the long list of complaints audience members had about “Echo.” In addition to Maya’s character being “very unlikable‚” viewers expressed frustration with the pacing of the series‚ confusing plot twists‚ and cringeworthy scenes‚ including one featuring a “70-year-old Native American grandmother beating up mobsters.” To hear Lauren’s full review of “Echo‚” watch the video below. OpenAI in a 'tough spot' as the company fights against a slew of lawsuits over copyright violations

OpenAI appears to have its hands full as it attempts to win a slew of lawsuits that have been brought against it by media outlets and individuals who claim the company has used copyrighted material without proper permission‚ according to the New York Post.OpenAI and other AI companies have been accused of using copyrighted material without giving credit to the publishers and creators of the work. Experts now say this development could destroy the media business if it continues unchecked. The New York Times sued OpenAI and Microsoft last month for using its material without permission.Writers John Grisham and George R.R. Martin have also filed lawsuits against the AI company.OpenAI CEO Sam Altman — who recently made a return after initially being dismissed by the company's board — has reportedly been in talks with various media outlets‚ suggesting the company would pay for access to content that can be used to train the company's chatbots. The Post reported that OpenAI has already landed deals with Axel Springer and the Associated Press. However‚ some have raised concerns that OpenAI and other similar technologies could damage the integrity of journalism in the future.Blaze News reported last week that OpenAI has mourned the potential progress of AI chatbots by suggesting it is "impossible" to create advanced technological services like ChatGPT if it is barred from using copyrighted work. The issue could spill over into debates about the legalities of using protected material to further technological advances.OpenAI — which some have valued at around $100 billion — plans to fight against the copyright claims. In early 2023‚ the Post Millennial published a piece that suggested OpenAI could eat up as much as 80% of the U.S. job market in the coming years. And some have expressed reluctance about the quick developments in AI tech‚ claiming that it could pose a risk to humanity.“They’re [OpenAI] in a tough spot‚” an industry source told the Post. The source wished to remain anonymous. “I think they’re now seeing what happens‚ if you negotiate with entities individually‚ then you’re beholden to each one acting differently. Whatever comes from that‚ It’s not as predictable.”Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
