Wife Gives Her Husband The Perfect Birthday Present — A Teddy Bear With A Special Loved One’s Voice Recorded Inside.

You might not expect a grown man to break down over receiving a teddy bear‚ but it was the voice recording inside this gift that brought him to tears. Jesus was mourning his brother‚ who had died in a hit-and-run accident. So‚ his wife got him a very special present: a teddy bear with a recording of his brother’s voice inside. When Jesus heard the toy speak‚ he held it close and began to cry. Jesus’s family captured footage of the touching moment. As he burst into tears‚ his loved ones were immediately at his side to comfort him. It must have been overwhelming‚ albeit in a beautiful way‚ to hear his late brother’s voice coming from the teddy bear. We’re sure he’ll treasure this gift from his wife for many years to come. @humankind This man couldn’t hold back the tears when he saw the touching present from his wife inside this gift box. #humankind #christmasgift #latebrother #rememberingfamily #goodnews ♬ snowfall – Øneheart &; reidenshi Many commenters were moved by the emotional clip‚ which has gone viral online. “Oh his heart hurts so much‚” wrote one user. “This killed me.” “All of them in the matching pajamas coming to hug him I’m sobbing‚” added another. Screengrab from TikTok Grief is painful and difficult to get through‚ but having something special to remind you of the person you lost can help. It was so thoughtful and creative of this loving wife to put her late brother-in-law’s voice inside a teddy bear for her husband to keep. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. Engineers Filmed An Ice Hockey Match From Below The Ice‚ Recording A Once “Impossible” Angle

In today’s world‚ modern camera technology is used in so many ways‚ from taking snaps during a poolside holiday to surveying the grounds of a vital business. Despite these important uses‚ not all cameras are made the same‚ and some are not as weather-resilient as others. Although there are many extreme conditions that affect the performance of security cameras‚ ice is known to be particularly troublesome. It can drain batteries while also obscuring the image.Axis Communications is a network technology and industry leader that offers solutions in video surveillance‚ access control‚ intercom‚ and audio systems. They decided to push the boundaries of their technology in a harsh environment by creating an unusual experiment to test it in the extreme. They went to Ulricehamns Ishall in Sweden to film an ice hockey match from a seemingly “impossible” angle – inside the ice.Ice hockey is a fast-paced‚ thrilling sport that is one of the most popular winter sports in the world. It is a game between two teams who wear skates and play on an ice rink; the aim is to propel a rubber disk (called the puck) past the goal line that is guarded by a goalie. Translating the excitement to a screen for at-home-viewers means that footage needs to come from all angles‚ but is it really possible to film it from inside the ice? There were some logistical challenges to this experiment. Firstly‚ the camera itself would have to be workable after being encased in ice. Secondly‚ the ice in an ice rink is less than 40 millimeters (1.6 inches) thick‚ so the camera would have to fit into that space. Thirdly‚ the ice had to be clear enough so that the camera could film the spectacular footage. The camera selectionThe experimental setup included a sensor and a main unit with audio. The camera that was chosen was AXIS F2135-RE Fisheye Sensor. This was a full high-definition sensor that had 60 frames per second at 1080p and could record in color and audio. It also provided a 185° horizontal field view and a rugged sensor unit.  Outside the experiment setup‚ this sensor can be installed practically anywhere (inside and outside) and is able to withstand vibrations and temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) and as high as 60°C (140°F). For the main unit‚ AXIS F9114 was used. This had a rugged design and connectors‚ along with multiple sensor and cable options. The set upThe team took the camera and mounted it horizontally within the ice‚ due to the limited space. A custom 3D-printed jig was made to house the camera. A mirror was placed at a 45° angle so the camera could record the above action. Then the whole system was frozen in the ice. “The biggest challenge with this project has been the time constraint combined with getting clear ice‚” Niklas Hansson‚ expert concept development engineer of the project‚ said in a video sent to IFLScience. “The combination of the two has made it very hard to cycle and experiment with the different ice setups we’ve been doing where it actually takes time to make a liter of ice freeze.”The camera set up.Image courtesy of Axis CommunicationsThe sensor had to be optimized to take into account the ice refraction and other impurities. Ice refraction is 1.44-2.50 μm‚ which is the measurement of the bending of a ray of light when passing through different mediums. Changes to the index can influence the size and position of an image taken by a lens.  To optimize the setup‚ the module had to be frozen and defrosted multiple times to ensure that the relevant tweaks worked. “We were not sure that it would be good image quality. We had to test it out. The water could contain different particles. There could be air bubbles‚ cracks in the ice. And then there is the surface of the ice itself‚” said Hansson. “That would affect how the image would be. So‚ we had to do multiple tests to make sure that we get a good image quality.”Once the optimization was complete‚ the module setup was frozen at the Axis Communications facilities. Inserting into the ice rinkYou might think it would be easy to position the camera within the ice‚ but this is not as straightforward as it seems. An ice hockey rink is firstly made up of a concrete slab that has a cooling element in it. Then the ice is built up layer-by-layer (roughly an inch and a half). For this experiment‚ a hole had to be created so they could insert the ready-made puck-shaped camera rig. Once inserted‚ a Zamboni was driven back and forth to freeze it into place. The resultThe results were clear footage of the ice hockey match from a perspective few but the puck have seen. Overall‚ the experiment was a success. The sensors recorded the hockey match through the ice and were able to record exciting footage. “It’s a proof of our quality in the design and the build on the cameras. They are tested for vast temperature ranges‚ both from the very cold to the very hot. So‚ this is proof that it actually works in practice as well‚” Hansson stated. To read more about the equipment used‚ click here! This article includes sponsored material. Powerful tsunami wiped out Britain’s population 8‚000 years ago

The enormous tsunami that swept through northern Europe more than 8‚000 years ago may have been responsible for the tragic extinction of northern Britain during the Mesolithic period‚ according to recent research. New research published in the Journal of Quaternary Science provides insight into this ancient natural disaster. During the Mesolithic period‚ also known as the Middle Stone Age‚ the population of northern Britain was around 1‚000. Most of them lived in small coastal settlements‚ potentially exposed to giant tidal waves. Archaeological finds indicate a sudden decline in human settlements in the region around 8‚200 years ago. Previously it was associated with climate change‚ but new research points to a mysterious tsunami‚ which was given the name Storegga. The Storegga tsunami was caused by an underwater landslide off the coast of Norway‚ creating waves over 20 meters high. They hit the Shetland Islands and the north of England. Waves reached 3-6 meters in the north of England. Using computer modeling‚ scientists reconstructed the event at the coastal settlement of Howick in Northumberland. Although sediment cores dating back to the time of the tsunami have been discovered‚ researchers have disagreed. Modeling showed that a tsunami could only inundate the site at high tide. If the assumptions are correct‚ then the Storegg tsunami could have caused a catastrophic decline in the population of northern Britain. The researchers suggest that “at Howick‚ mortality estimates varied‚ but were as high as 100 percent within the resource-rich intertidal zone.” The wave not only claimed lives‚ but also destroyed food supplies‚ accelerating population decline throughout northwestern Europe. “Alien structures” on the Moon discovered by researcher

The famous ufologist and virtual archaeologist Scott Waring said that he discovered mysterious alien structures on the Moon. The south polar region of the Moon has become the focus of ufologists’ attention after Scott Waring claimed to have discovered alien structures hidden in craters. Each of the mysterious structures has an bizarre appearance‚ raising many questions and theories. The image shows a structure in a crater with a diameter of about 8 miles‚ and the length of the structure itself is 4 miles. Humanity is accustomed to standard building forms on Earth‚ but Waring argues that aliens may represent completely different architectural concepts. “We develop our ideas from past experiences on Earth‚ but alien designs may differ significantly. This creates difficulties in their interpretation‚” said the ufologist. One of the key questions is the presence of life in these structures. Waring raises an important question: “Are these structures inhabited by aliens‚ or are they simply monuments to them?” Waring calls for more research and emphasizes the need for deeper study of the Moon to unlock the secrets of these mysterious structures. Column: Joe Biden Launches 2024 Campaign with Fact-Checker Silence

President Joe Biden kicked off his re-election campaign with two speeches filled with his usual fact-challenged bombast. But since checking that might sound like “normalizing” bombastic Donald Trump‚ the “independent fact checkers” have filed nothing after his speech near Valley Forge on January 5 and his speech in Charleston on January 8. But USA Today leaped to Biden’s defense on January 7‚ censoring Facebook posts that claimed Biden didn’t condemn political violence after the race riots in the summer of 2020. In Charleston‚ Biden glorified “the historic movement for justice" at that time‚ which is whitewashing some history. Let’s review a few “checkable” misstatements by Biden‚ starting with the Valley Forge speech: 1. Trump is “willing to sacrifice our democracy‚ put himself in power.” If we can be literal – as fact-checkers often are with Republicans – Trump is running for president‚ not sending tanks into the streets.   2. “Jill and I attended the funeral of police officers who died as a result of the events of that day [January 6]….because of Donald Trump’s lies‚ they died because these lies brought a mob to Washington.” Joe and Jill attended two memorial services for Capitol police officers. Brian Sicknick died of a stroke a day after the riots. Billy Evans was crushed by a car on April 2‚ 2021 by a follower of Louis Farrakhan. 3. “More than 1‚200 people have been charged for their assault on the Capitol.” Obviously‚ not everyone charged for January 6 was charged with violence. Many were charged with “parading” or “trespassing." But Biden blurred them all together‚ adding “Trump’s mob wasn’t a peaceful protest. It was a violent assault.”  4. He attacked “those who seek to bury history and ban books. Did you ever think you’d be at a political event talking about book banning…in a presidential election?” Liberals often describe the removal of any book from a school library as a “book ban‚” but that term sounds much broader‚ like conservatives have banned a book from being circulated or sold. There were more in the Charleston speech. 1. He repeated “they’re trying to erase history and your future‚ banning books‚ denying your right to vote and have it counted‚ destroying Diversity‚ Equality‚ Inclusion all across America.” This is an even broader accusation‚ blurring book controversies with “erasing futures” and depriving people of a right to vote. This line is coming from Democrats who want to strip Trump’s name off the ballot. 2. “I’ve spent more time in the Bethel AME church in Wilmington‚ Delaware…than most people I know‚ black or white…there’s where I started‚ it started with the civil rights movement.” Obviously‚ Biden isn’t in that Delaware church more than its weekly parishioners. The New York Post reported Biden previously claimed he attended civil-rights organizing sessions at Wilmington’s Union Baptist Church‚ yet congregants and a longtime assistant to the pastor at the time have said they don’t recall that. And he previously admitted he wasn’t involved in the civil-rights movement. “I was not an activist‚” he confessed in 1987. “I was not out marching. I was not down in Selma. I was not anywhere else.” 3. “We had buried my son Beau‚ a veteran who was exposed and died because of those burn pits in Iraq for a year.” In this case‚ FactCheck.org previously pinged Biden on this claim‚ saying there was no evidence that burn pits led to cancer in veterans. As he often does‚ Biden implies his son was a soldier‚ not a military lawyer (while he was still serving as Delaware’s Attorney General). Democrats get "fact checkers" as a fringe benefit.

Why I am going to Davos

Why I am going to Davos

I don’t typically go where I’m not wanted‚ but I do tend to go where I’m needed. So I was intrigued by the invitation to attend a globalist sleepaway camp in the beautiful Swiss Alps — some pop-up utopia called Davos. At first‚ it sounded as dreadful as a road trip with the New York Times editorial board. The infamous hypocritical self-avowed Marxists‚ private-jet environmentalists‚ and genocide-adjacent humanitarians want to hear from the Heritage Foundation how they can “rebuild trust” with everyday Americans against whom they have weaponized their institutions. The biblical principle “cast not your pearls before swine” came to mind. But a deeply meaningful part of my role at Heritage is to represent the voice of millions of forgotten men and women across this country. We are the everyday American’s outpost in Washington‚ D.C. So I could happily — while admittedly dreadingly — hop across the Atlantic to the land where leftist elites indulge fellow insufferable elites and be a voice on the world stage sharing inconvenient truths. And here is what I’m going to tell them. First‚ trust must be earned. Global elites have not merely failed on that score. They have squandered the vast reserves of credibility they inherited from their institutional predecessors. The media‚ the academy‚ government agencies‚ international organizations‚ corporations‚ and the arts have traded in centuries’ worth of public trust in exchange for unaccountable‚ ideological exploitation of the people they claim to serve. Sooner or later‚ the everyday citizens‚ workers‚ and families who shoulder the burdens of Davos-style global elitism will reclaim their individual rights and national sovereignty. National leaders at this conference openly reject the nation-state. They refuse to secure their own besieged borders. Scholars and journalists openly subordinate facts to serve partisan ends that undermine transparency and choice for their citizens. Generals promote woke politics over military readiness. Corporate executives ship jobs overseas to tyrants like China’s Xi Jinping while lecturing their own countrymen about “diversity‚ equity‚ and inclusion.” Artists and entertainers celebrate each other's sneering contempt for the people and values that fuel their privileged lives. There is no mystery here. Around the world‚ people distrust global elites because they hate us. They use their power to disempower us and their cultural influence to smear anyone who questions their self-serving corruption. This is the common virtue of constitutionalism‚ republicanism‚ nationalism‚ and free enterprise‚ as they are traditionally practiced in the United States. They subject elites’ ambitions to the authority of the people instead of the other way around. This arrangement is good for the world and for every person who has ever embraced it. But it is uniquely frustrating to elites‚ who resist checks on their power and resent accountability to “the unwashed masses” — which‚ of course‚ is the point. Unchecked‚ centralized power leads to tyranny. And the disasters compound the farther the power drifts (or is untethered) from the people. To regain trust‚ then‚ Davos must accept the moral virtues‚ practical benefits‚ and natural rights of individual nations (and‚ ultimately families and individuals) to govern themselves. No serious person believes that the global elites' grand moral stands over the last generation — bowing to China‚ erasing borders‚ worshipping climate extremism — just so happened to serve their class interests at the direct expense of ordinary people’s democratic sovereignty and economic opportunity. Our fractured and fractious world doesn’t need any more lectures about “openness” from the people who covered up COVID-19’s origins and then locked down people’s lives for a year. Or about “disinformation” from people who spent weeks defending Harvard University’s plagiarist president. Or about diversity from a hermetically insulated claque of race-hustling‚ anti-American‚ anti-Christian‚ anti-Semitic bigots. What we need is nothing more than the freedom to govern ourselves. That is what Brexit‚ Donald Trump‚ Viktor Orban‚ Javier Milei‚ Geert Wilders‚ and the rising global tide of populist‚ patriotic conservatism represents. Nationalism — love of one’s own nation and culture and a policymaking preference for one’s own people and customs — cannot be erased and will not be trampled. It must be respected. Trust is a choice. Sooner or later‚ the everyday citizens‚ workers‚ and families who shoulder the burdens of Davos-style global elitism will reclaim their individual rights and national sovereignty. The only question is whether our elites can pivot their corrupt institutions back toward trust and trustworthiness before “We‚ the People” take matters into our own hands. Those attending the World Economic Forum need to hear this message. And that’s why I’m going to Davos.
