A teen boy was at his family's cabin in northwestern Maine. Along with the family dog, he sensed something unusual in his vicinity and then heard it 'mimic' his voice and words.I received the following account:"I had a scary experience happen to me in 2018 that has stuck with me throughout the years and I’m wondering if you all could possibly help me explain what I witnessed in the woods all those years ago.I was about 16 at the time and I am half indigenous. I was visiting my uncle on my mom's side (the Indigenous side) at his cabin located in the woods of northwestern Maine because I was driving my Grandpa up to visit them for the fall season. The cabin was rather small and could only accommodate my uncle, auntie, and grandpa so I was told to sleep in the camper that was set back further into the woods.That evening went by as usual. My auntie made dinner and we all laughed and shared stories and eventually turned in for the night. I took a flashlight and started my way out to the camper. About halfway down, I shut off the flashlight and looked up to admire the night sky. It was at this point I noticed how quiet the forest had become. There were no birds or sounds of crickets or rustling leaves just pure silence. I suddenly got this intense feeling of dread deep within my gut and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. The voice in my head told me to bolt to the camper as fast as I could. For some reason, my instincts told me I didn’t belong there and something was watching me. When I made it to the camper I slammed the door shut and double-locked it; closing the window blinds. I swear I could hear my heart pounding in my ears as I laughed at myself for getting so worked up over nothing. The entire night I was restless in my sleep. I couldn’t help but hear footsteps and movement all around the camper. I told myself it was just curious animals and grazing deer but my dreams were haunted by something I couldn’t see. Unfortunately, this would not be my final experience of the weekend.By morning all seemed normal. I thought about mentioning what had happened to my Grandfather over breakfast but worried that he would brush me off as being over dramatic or “too used to the city life”. I let the odd night slide off my mind as I enjoyed the day with my family and their German Shepard Jack. Just to calm my nerves, I asked Jack to accompany me in the camper that evening to ensure I felt safe. The walk back was once again fine until I began to enter the tree line. I’m not sure if it was because I was feeling nervous as well but Jack seemed to be on edge with his ears perked and head on a swivel. That night he slept in the bed of the trailer with me. I felt safer with the dog there however I had an extremely awful dream in which when I awoke, Jack was staring at the wall of the trailer with his hackles standing on end.When the morning came I packed my bags to leave in the afternoon, brought Jack out of the trailer, and led him out to the small field between the cabin and the thick woods. I kicked a ball so that Jack would fetch it. He raced down to grab the ball until his full sprint turned into a full stop, digging his paws into the dirt meters past where the ball had landed. He was standing stiff, fur on end, ears pinned back, and unmoving. I called for him to come (which he always responded to) but he didn’t even acknowledge me. I began to walk down to where he was, calling his name a little bit louder still with no response. I grabbed him by the collar, getting kind of worried at this point as his eyes stared directly into the trees. I yelled his name loudly giving him a little tug. The forest was silent. Moments later the silence was broken by an echo of my voice yelling back. However, this echo was delayed and distorted. It sounded like me but also not like me. I froze and looked into the dark woods, holding my breath only for another scream to come from the woods in MY voice. I immediately turned and booked it back to the cabin.I came to my auntie trying to tell her that there was something out there in those woods. She comforted me and told me it must have been nothing but she seemed as if that was not the answer she wanted to give. My family is rather superstitious, especially me, and I’m guessing she didn’t want me to overthink anything. I left that afternoon and I have not been back since that weekend.A friend of mine told me to share my story with you as you all might have an idea of what I experienced. A Manitoba high schooler and his friend were walking on a local trail at night when they encountered, what seemed to be, a pale-white crawler humanoid in the tall grass.I received the following account:"Hi. I'm 24 now, but this happened during my senior year in high school. I lived at home (near Winnipeg, Manitoba) at the time, and by my house were two elementary schools separated by some forest, joined together by a paved bicycle/ walking trail through said forest. It was night time and my best friend at the time and I were out walking the trail from one school to the other. To paint a good picture of what this trail was like for some reason there were only street lights at the ends of the trail where you would be entering school property. The trail was pitch black almost making it super eerie at night. Anyway, my buddy and I were coming around a bend just outside of where the first school was, and where there was a light, but as we approached the bend in the trail we made it to a point where the light was barely lighting up the trail anymore.I was walking with my head down looking at my phone, my friend was just a few steps ahead talking, when out of nowhere he stopped and said "WTF Is that?" Naturally, I stopped too, and at first, I didn't see anything. I caught up to where he was as he was a few steps ahead of me and he said look over there in the bush at that white thing. Now when I saw this thing I absolutely froze. Sitting at the side of the trail off the pavement in this tall grass was this hunched over, super pale and white thing that looked like a person who was super skinny to the point where I could see its spine bones, and rib cage.When we first saw it, it had its back to us and then turned towards us, it looked like a bald, pale, naked white man with absolutely no hair, severely unnourished with sunken-in eyes and super long arms moving towards us on all fours like an animal, we didn’t even say a word to each other we just both immediately started running the opposite direction to get home. We nearly sprinted the entire way back which was about 1.5 kilometres.We told my parents when we got home, and the next day in the daylight of course my mom and I went back to where my friend and I saw this thing, and sure enough right where we saw it was a bunch of packed down long grass as if something were sitting there or laying there. I actually messaged this friend who witnessed it with me as I was writing this and he still remembers it clear as day, and the fact that it looked almost like a creature mixed with a human. All at once with reverb."This account and video were forwarded to me:"I caught this encounter on video on July 17, 2024. I'm super experienced with extremely rugged camping. I avoid cold at all costs, not my cup of tea but heat and rugged. I love it.I ride out on quad usually to remote locations. Often cowboy camp. Literally just facedown in the mud/dirt/sand, you name it, etc.This year I ventured out. Found an off-grid site that had an old iron trash can as a fire pit and a picnic table.About 10 minutes after I shut the quad off, I began hearing these odd screaming sounds with reverb off in the far southeast distance of my position, moving northeast.Didn't think much of it at all. Thought some fired-up riders passing through or something as quite common. It being a Tuesday though, barely saw anybody out there the entire week until Friday.Finally noticed it getting closer and closer to me. That's when I started rolling film.It sounded like a male adult primally screaming in dying agony, some type of creature, and either an adult female screaming or a small child screaming. All at once with reverb. The way the sound was bouncing through the trees was downright bizarre. No echo I've ever really heard in my life in the woods or anywhere.It all suddenly phased into sounding like it was completely surrounding all around me at this point a few yards beyond the tree line. (Imagine hearing screaming in a specific direction and it suddenly clicks to sounding like it's all around you).It all suddenly halts.I then hear semi-unintelligible words screaming from the male with reverb, in the northwest of my location.The female/little child screams back from the same location.More word screaming commenced as some other rider came up chasing after it for whatever reason.I halted the guy on the bike and he said he had no idea what it was, but was following it to try and see what it was. Have no clue how he even came across whatever this was.It began moving quickly off in the distance again and the rider took off immediately thereafter.No clue what it was personally or why the guy was even trying to see what it was either...Never heard anything like this in my entire life of camping/riding and I have completed hundreds of excursions at this point.Was never spooked for some odd reason either, through the entire experience.I've listened to the recording a million times over and I still have zero clue.The state I was in is known for wolfmen and other cryptids if one believes in folklore as such I suppose. I've never encountered any creatures eyes-on in my life so I can't say personally if they exist or not. I don't dismiss anything as it can't be totally ruled out though. Life is mysterious in general so I stay open-minded.I simply have absolutely zero clue what I encountered that night and it's still driving me nuts.Just for reference, no mountain lions exist in the state I was in. The possibility of mountain lions being rouge either can't be ruled out obviously. I do believe Bobcats may roam about but I'm not fully certain. But either way, I don't think they speak English at least what resembled English.I recently returned and took a trip back to the same exact location. Passed out in the dirt/sand for a few and woke up around 11:20 PM. Didn't feel like camping there a full night again because I wanted to explore new locations to camp so I ended up taking off.I am in the process of making another video of that trip but it's nothing spectacular by any means. No occurrences took place at all on that trip. Barely even any wildlife for the three days I was out there...I'm clueless as to what this was. I listen to these sounds, my hair stands like static."
