Democrat Debbie Dingell Doubles Down On Claim Trump Will Put People In Internment Camps

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) doubled down Saturday on her claim that former President Donald Trump will put people in internment camps if he wins next week’s election. Dingell made the remarks on Fox News after she claimed earlier the week on CNN that Trump wanted to “start internment camps.” “You feared that if Donald Trump would win this race, you and others like you would be thrown in internment camps,” said host Neil Cavuto. “You said the same about Muslims and Arabs if Donald Trump won.” “Do you regret those comments?” he asked. “No, I don’t regret those comments,” Dingell responded. “And I’m going to be very clear–” Cavuto interrupted: “You really think you would be thrown into an internment camp?” “You, a sitting U.S. congresswoman?” he asked. “That’s what you said.” Dingell then claimed that she was half joking when she made the remark, but she was still serious about it. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “I said it as a joke,” she said. “Now let me be very clear on this. And I want to be very clear on this. I said it half sarcastically. Donald Trump has been very clear that he is going to go what he calls ‘the enemy from within.'” “I think we’re all Americans, and you can disagree agreeably,” she continued. “He names his enemies by name. I do not think it is okay to say someone should have eight barrels pointed at their face.” Cavuto pushed back, saying that Trump never mentioned internment camps. “So what made you take it to that level?” he asked. “If you criticize his language, you criticize his language, that’s pretty inflammatory language in and of itself.” Dingell claimed that she would send Cavuto “10 articles” that supported her claims. “He has talked about detention camps,” she claimed. “He has talked about banning Muslims. He did. One of the first things he tried to do when he became president–” When pressed again about whether she stood by her remarks that Trump was going to put people in internment camps and if she was trying to put fear in people’s minds, Dingell deflected, claiming: “I believe he has talked about– he has talked about detention camps.” WATCH: ? The Destruction Of Identity-Affirming Psychotherapy And Advocating For Your Future Self

In the fifth and final episode of “Depression & Anxiety,” Dr. Jordan B. Peterson hones in on the topics of identity and the future. The seriousness and gravity of the subjects he discusses in “Reconstructing The Future You” match the black-and-white cast of the production, but Peterson’s demeanor brings light to the episode. Posed with information to divulge, he begins, “One of the things that’s come up recently on the political front is this idea that psychotherapeutic care, and medical care for that matter, should be identity affirming. And this is absolutely 100% preposterous.” Yet this is not a claim he avoids extrapolating. Peterson goes on to explain there are questions that should be asked with regard to identity affirmation: What do you mean by identity? How should identity be properly measured? What is the proper role of a therapist in relation to identity? As a licensed clinical psychologist, Peterson knows the ethical requirements by which therapists are bound. They are not to rely on the reports of sporadic emotion, as doing so violates ethical clinical care. Rather, therapists are to explore identity with their clients. Such an initiative becomes one of elaboration of identity. Exploring identity is an undertaking a therapist engages in with their client by asking: Who are you? Peterson explains that might involve walking through your whole life: “Where did you come from? Who are you now? Where are you going?” Past, present, and future are all the parts of the whole. Peterson explains the point of therapy in the context of this episode and the discussion of identity, but he makes a statement that applies to therapy at large: “We’re here so that things can be better for you, and we’re going to explore what ‘better’ means because that’s, in some ways, something you have to determine — conceivably in consultation with me because we’re trying to solve the problem. But you have to define what ‘better’ is.” Again, Peterson provides an element of hope, a running theme throughout this series. WATCH: DR. JORDAN B. PETERSON’S SERIES, “DEPRESSION & ANXIETY,” ON DAILYWIRE+ While Peterson addresses that what you feel moment-to-moment is not incontrovertibly correct, he also explains the importance of developing the skills to discern what is true with regard to identity — and getting the story straight. A therapist can help people confront the traumas of their past, and writing about such trauma, though difficult, proves helpful and predicts improvement. People are able to figure out why and how they might avoid it again in the future. But it is your future self that Peterson leads to in the conclusion of “Depression & Anxiety.” For years, Peterson has taught on the subject and necessity of aiming up, advocating that we should each do what we can in the confines of our own life in the unlimited expanse of the opportunity of our own lives to aim up. He reiterates this in his concluding episode, saying, “We’re aiming to make things better. I’m on the side of you that wants things to be better, so I’m an advocate for that — whatever that is. I’m an advocate for that, that part of your identity.” It is the betterment of lives that Peterson continually strives to impress upon his viewers, though it is not an undertaking to pursue without effort. He explains this to be part of the true essence of effective psychotherapy. Genuine growth does not come from simple affirmation, as growth is by no means “simple.” It requires exploration, reconstruction, and meticulous attention to details of your own life, but it is a task that will lead to a future self worth pursuing.

NBC Admits Pro-Lifers Aren't Banning Birth Control, Fearmonger Anyway

The media fearmongering about pro-lifers is nothing new. Admitting the fears are false, but fearmongering anyway is something different. Yet, that is exactly what NBC’s Dasha Burns did on Friday’s edition of Nightly News as she traveled to Missouri ahead of that state’s upcoming abortion ballot measure. Host Lester Holt introduced Burns’s segment by declaring, “the issue of contraceptive deserts, places where many women don't have enough access to birth control. According to a reproductive rights nonprofit, more than 19 million women are affected, just as millions of Americans vote on access to contraception.”     The segment sought to answer whose fault that is, and right away Burns said there is nothing to suggest pro-life laws have anything to do with it, “In the months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Maggie Oliva went to the pharmacy to pick up her birth control prescription… Maggie, who now works for a grassroots reproductive rights group in St. Louis, says the pharmacist denied her prescription because they were unsure if it was legal, which it was.” Instead of asking the liberal activist why her movement keeps fearmongering, Burns instead asked, “How does that experience sit with you today?” Olivia claimed, “It feels infuriating. I definitely felt like I was doing something wrong.” Burns then tried to tie the issue to abortion, “Two months later she got pregnant and crossed state lines to get an abortion... Family planning experts say since the near-total abortion ban in Missouri, women have been facing mounting barriers to accessing contraception.” But Burns just said it is legal, so maybe pro-life laws aren’t the problem. However, still trying to force a narrative, Burns then turned to Missouri Family Health Council Executive Director Michelle Trupiano, who declared, “Politicians purposefully conflate abortion and birth control. Our polling shows almost 30 percent of Missourians don't believe or don't know that all forms of birth control are legal.” Trupiano isn’t wrong, but it is the liberal politicians she supports who do that. Conservative politicians are always making it clear that they aren’t coming to contraception. Burns surely knows this true as she turned to State Sen. Denny Hoskins, “That confusion, a strained healthcare system, and contraceptive deserts covering much of Missouri makes accessing birth control more challenging.” Hoskins, however, rebutted, “You say there's contraception deserts, I guess, I would say I respectfully disagree.” While Burns lobbed the “how do you feel” kind of questions to liberal activists, in her questioning of the Republican, she used liberal logical that says if something is not subsidized by taxpayer money, it is being curtailed, “But, didn't the state specifically take action to not support funding for contraception?” Hoskins, who earlier claimed “They do have adequate access to contraception in Missouri,” pointed out, “We did. We did, most certainly. I don't think it should be paid for by taxpayer dollars.” Towards the end of the segment, Burns warned, “Six in ten women in Missouri are concerned about passing laws that limit access to birth control.” Nurse Kate Wagner replied, “Some of our patients would, you know, show up and they would say, ‘My device is due to be replaced next year, but I want to go ahead and have it replaced sooner than that, because I'm worried about, you know, the politics changing.’” She was followed by Olivia, who recalled, “I remember somebody called the office and asked if she needed to rip out the IUD herself. She was so scared.” And what did they say in return? Burns herself said birth control is legal and Hoskins gave absolutely no reason to believe “politics changing” will change that. Instead of allowing abortion activists to prey on people’s fears for votes, Burns should’ve asked them why certain doctors and pharmacists are incapable of reading the laws that actually exist. Here is a transcript for the November 1 show: NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt 11/1/2024 7:10 PM ET LESTER HOLT: Also tonight, the issue of contraceptive deserts, places where many women don't have enough access to birth control. According to a reproductive rights nonprofit, more than 19 million women are affected, just as millions of Americans vote on access to contraception. Here is Dasha Burns. BURNS: Two months later she got pregnant and crossed state lines to get an abortion. OLIVIA: When you can't control the care that your body can receive, it's a devastating feeling of powerlessness. Our polling shows almost 30 percent of Missourians don't believe or don't know that all forms of birth control are legal. HOSKINS: They do have adequate access to contraception in Missouri. BURNS: But, didn't the state specifically take action to not support funding for contraception? HOSKINS: We did. We did, most certainly. I don't think it should be paid for by taxpayer dollars. BURNS: On Missouri's ballot this year, a constitutional amendment, ensuring “a person's fundamental right to reproductive freedom” which would include abortion and birth control. Kate Wagner works at the only clinic in a 45-mile radius that provides the full ranges of birth control methods. KATE WAGNER: Good morning, ladies. WOMAN: Good morning. WAGNER: It's not just one size fits all. BURNS: Six in ten women in Missouri are concerned about passing laws that limit access to birth control. WAGNER: Some of our patients would, you know, show up and they would say, "my device is due to be replaced next year, but I want to go ahead and have it replaced sooner than that, because I'm worried about, you know, the politics changing." TFT’s new event is an Arcane inspired fiesta that brings back its best mode

Arcane Season 2 is almost here. We've been waiting for it since 2021, champing at the bit to see what happens to Piltover as Jinx's Super Mega Death Rocket crashes into the council's chambers. Does Mel survive? Does Yasuo arrive and Wind Wall it at the last second and save the world? While that latter one is never going to happen in the series, Teamfight Tactics: Into the Arcane promises to let me live out my bizarre, memey fan fiction, and I can't wait. Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix splits players over its artist POI takeovers

Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is here, but it doesn’t have everyone enthralled. While it brings back that chapter’s beloved map, the community is split on just how Epic has implemented the revival. Multiple points of interest are steadily being taken over by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ice Spice, revamping their visuals and offering new challenges. While some POI changes are yet to come, many are already frustrated with Chapter 2 Remix’s focus on musicians, and what they mean for this chance to revisit the old-school map. 10 Amazing Deckbuilder Games You Need To Play

There are few genres more divisive to gamers than the deckbuilder. It generally boils down to either loving or hating them, though people in the latter group often haven't played many examples. Which is a shame, since it's a legitimately fun and incredibly creative genre.
