Patrick Stewart Reveals Eerie Encounters with Ghosts

Last year, iconic Hollywood and theater actor Patrick Stewart shared personal stories during an hour-long conversation with video blogger and podcaster Rich Roll. In addition to discussing his career in film and theater, Stewart recounted his encounters with the paranormal. Years ago, during his time on Star Trek, Stewart purchased a house on Moreno Drive in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. Strange events began occurring shortly after he moved in. One evening, he returned home to find the door between the garage and the house inexplicably open, despite always ensuring it was closed. On another night, he woke up to the strong smell of burning food. Rushing to the kitchen, he found everything turned off, yet the scent lingered. Other unsettling phenomena followed. He often heard footsteps on the stairs and voices in empty rooms. One day, his school-aged son, who had recently moved in with him, greeted him with alarming news. The boy led Stewart to the living room, where books lay scattered across the floor, the shelves completely disarrayed. The son insisted he had done nothing and claimed the books had flown off the shelves in an instant, without any apparent cause. Despite Los Angeles being prone to earthquakes, no tremors were recorded that day. There was also a peculiar area in the house Stewart called the “Ice Zone” at the base of the stairs. Every time he passed through, the temperature dropped sharply, returning to normal after climbing just one step. After three years, Stewart moved out. Shortly after, he received a call from the new homeowner, who casually mentioned her child had seen a strange man at the bottom of the stairs—the same Ice Zone. Curious, Stewart asked longtime neighbors about the house and learned that a man had once died there in a terrible accident. This wasn’t Stewart’s only brush with the paranormal. Years later, while searching for a home in the UK with his wife, Sunny Ozell, they toured a centuries-old cottage. As Stewart explored the top floor, he suddenly felt invisible hands gripping his throat. Struggling for air, he cried, “Help! Help!” Sunny rushed to his aid, pulling him into the hallway, where the choking sensation finally stopped. These eerie experiences left a lasting impression on Stewart, adding a real-life layer of mystery to the actor’s storied career. George Lopez Comedy Reminds Viewers of the True Meaning of Christmas

George Lopez Comedy Reminds Viewers of the True Meaning of Christmas

It’s not often Hollywood remembers the true meaning of Christmas and that “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Hollywood usually enjoys hating on Christianity. So, it was a nice surprise when NBC’s comedy Lopez vs. Lopez celebrated the true meaning in their Christmas episode, “Lopez vs. Santa.” The show stars George Lopez and his real-life daughter Mayan Lopez, who reunited after a long estrangement and now live together along with Mayan’s boyfriend/baby daddy Quinten (Matt Shively), their son Chance (Brice Gonzalez), and Mayan’s (TV) mother Rosie (Selenis Leyva). In the episode, Rosie is depressed after a breakup and doesn’t feel up to decorating for Christmas. Quinten attempts to motivate her by telling her they applied to be the final house in their church’s annual tradition called Posadas, which is done in remembrance of Joseph and Mary’s search for a place to stay when she was about to give birth to Jesus: Quinten: I'm sorry, Rosie, but you are la Reina de Navidad. It is not Christmas without your decorations. Rosie: Well, you've seen them. Close your eyes and remember. Quentin: Ok. But the neighbors haven't seen them, and we applied to be the final Posada house this year. Oscar: I love Posadas. Beans, cheese, a little guacamole. Quentin: That's tostadas. Las Posadas are when people go from house to house, reenacting when Mary and Joseph were turned away. Rosie: I campaign every year to be the final house where Jesus is born, and everyone comes and celebrates, but every year, the church always gives it to that old virgin, Irma Valdez. Quinten decides to lie to Rosie, telling her they were chosen as the final house because Irma isn’t feeling well. Aside from the lying, cringey language, and fighting over the baby Jesus (who wasn’t supposed to be born yet), it was awesome to see the Holy Family being celebrated rather than denigrated for once. Rosie: They're here. It's Posadatime. Quinten, get the door. "Joseph": Hello, innkeeper. We've traveled all of Bethlehem, looking for a place to stay. Do you have any room? Quinten: Of course. Come on in. "Joseph": Well, thanks anyways. Wait, you do? Quinten: Hell, yeah, we do! Get your asses in here! Rosie: Oh, who wants champurrado? It's spiked. Unlike virgin Irma's virgin drinks. Oscar: Tostadas, tostadas. FYI, these are not the same as Posadas. Rosie: And this is where our little Lord Jesus lays his sweet head. May I? Oh, come on. Hand him over to me! “Joseph”: I think there's been a mistake. We were supposed to be turned away. Irma's expecting us. Oscar: Irma fell down a well. “Joseph”: What? Quinten: No, no. He means Irma is not feeling well, so she asked us to host. Cocktail weenie? Of course, Irma shows up and the lie is revealed, but Rosie forgives Quinten after he explains, “I hated seeing you so depressed. So, in the spirit of Christmas, I stole an old virgin's one day of happiness.” After George Lopez made it on our naughty list last year, he has definitely redeemed himself and gets to be on our nice list this year for reminding everyone why Christmas is celebrated. Feliz Navidad!

CBS's Beloved Hit Drama 'Blue Bloods' Hilariously Disses Gender Pronouns in Second to Last Episode

After 14 amazing seasons, one of the few shows in Hollywood that isn’t woke will be ending for good, much to the dismay of many faithful viewers. CBS’s hit procedural drama Blue Bloods is airing its series finale with only one episode left to go, despite tens of thousands of fans fighting to keep it alive. Friday’s episode “Entitlement” featured a hilarious anti-woke quip by the show’s patriarch Henry Reagan (Len Cariou) during the family’s popular Sunday dinner scene (which is featured in every episode and has become a favorite staple of the show among fans): All: Amen. Sean: Uh, wait, everybody, I have an announcement to make. Frank: Oh! Danny: Now? I just spent the entire grace drooling over these pork chops. Sean: It'll only take a second. Henry: If you're gonna change your pronouns, I'm out. Haha! Oh, Blue Bloods, you are such a rare treasure that will be sorely missed! Thank you for all the wonderful memories you brought to viewers over the years.

Republican wins mayoral race in deep-blue Louisiana parish

A Republican political rookie has just unseated the Democrat incumbent mayor-president in one of the bluest parishes in Louisiana.Last month, eight candidates tossed their hats in the ring for the East Baton Rouge Parish mayor-presidency open primary. Among them were two-term incumbent Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, a Democrat, and political neophyte Emile "Sid" Edwards, a Republican. The election was contentious. In the weeks leading up to the primary, Weston Broome even released an ad that seemed to accuse one of her fellow Democrats of secretly harboring racist and sexist ideas. The subject of the ad, Ted James, ultimately endorsed her, as did Democrat former Governor John Bel Edwards, BRProud reported.Despite the party rallying behind Weston Broome, Edwards handily won the runoff election on December 7, 54% to 46%.'We’re not saying that everything has been bad in Baton Rouge. ... But there’s some things that need to change.'"This is a movie. I mean you couldn’t make this up," the 61-year-old mayor-president-elect said at his victory party on Saturday night, according to WWNO. "It’s God-anointed. This was a God-driven campaign, and it will be a God-driven administration."As in other urban areas, crime and homelessness have spiked in Baton Rouge in recent years. WWNO reported that the number of homicides in the city may reach a new record this year. Edwards has pledged to hire 100 new police officers to help keep the streets safe and to use local high schools to sell groceries to address issues of food access."We are the change agent," Edwards continued. "We’re not saying that everything has been bad in Baton Rouge. We never said that. But there’s some things that need to change, and as my promise to you, as the next mayor-president, it’s going to happen."Weston Broome, a 68-year-old seasoned Louisiana politician and former TV reporter, acknowledged defeat and thanked her supporters Saturday night."I may no longer be leading from the mayor’s office, but I promise you this, I will continue to lead from wherever I am called," she said. "I started this journey many, many years ago, as you know, and I have no regrets, none whatsoever."East Baton Rouge is one of only a handful of blue parishes in a state that President-elect Donald Trump otherwise carried in a landslide, 60% to 38%. Failed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris won East Baton Rouge by double digits, 54.5% to Trump's 43.4%.H/T: Red Eagle PoliticsLike Blaze News? Biden calls toppling of Assad by US-designated terrorists who previously targeted Christians 'fundamental act of justice'

Biden calls toppling of Assad by US-designated terrorists who previously targeted Christians 'fundamental act of justice'

Turkish-backed Islamic militants led by the al-Qaeda spinoff group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham — a U.S.-designated terrorist organization linked in its formative years to the late leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and whose current leader is a Specially Designated Global Terrorist who fought against American forces in Iraq — have seized the Syrian capital of Damascus following a 10-day shock offensive. President Bashar al-Assad and his family successfully fled to Russia — a nation that with Iran backed the Assad regime during Syria's 13-year civil war despite its reported use of chemical weapons in Ltamenah and various other war crimes. President Joe Biden addressed the regime change in a speech Sunday evening, claiming partial responsibility and stating, "Rebel forces have forced Assad to resign his office and flee the country." "At long last, the Assad regime has fallen," continued Biden. "This regime brutalized and tortured and killed literally hundreds of thousands of innocent Syrians. The fall of the regime is a fundamental act of justice. It is a moment of historic opportunity for the long-suffering people of Syria to build a better future for their proud country. It's also a moment of risk and uncertainty." Biden indicated further that the U.S. "will work with our partners and the stakeholders in Syria to help them seize an opportunity to manage the risk." Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, the leader of HTS who has a $10 million State Department bounty on his head, noted in his victory speech in Damascus' Umayyad Mosque that Syria would become "a beacon for the Islamic nation," reported Al Jazeera. "This victory is for all Syrians; they were all part of this victory." Although HTS generally advocates for the imposition of Sharia law, al-Jolani has suggested there might be relative tolerance, including for non-Muslims. Nevertheless, the fate of the country's beleaguered Christian population — which has been reduced from 1.5 million people, or 10% of the population, to roughly 300,000 over the past decade — is uncertain. 'Our approach has shifted the balance of power in the Middle East.' Jeff King, president of the persecution watchdog group International Christian Concern, said in a statement to the Christian Post, "The coming days and weeks will be crucial for the fate of [the] Christian community." The European organization Christian Solidarity noted in a statement that reports from Aleppo indicated that so far, "Christians and religious minorities have been treated well by HTS and its allies. Still, HTS' ideology and history give religious minorities in Aleppo serious reason to doubt these promises." Christian Solidarity indicated that the three primary religious minorities under threat in Syria are the Alawites, Druzes, and Christians. The first two groups are Muslim sects regarded as heretical by the jihadists that were previously protected by the Syrian government. Christians, while not similarly regarded as heretical, were also brutalized throughout the civil war by HTS terrorists. "HTS has often targeted Christians throughout Syria in violent attacks and kidnappings, repeatedly killing Christian civilians and confiscating their property. Since 2012, the vast majority of Christians who lived in Aleppo or Idlib during the periods under the jihadists’ authority have fled," said Christian Solidarity. Biden acknowledged in his speech that "some of the rebel groups that took down Assad have their own grim record of terrorism and human right abuses." 'THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.' The Democratic president suggested that the victorious terrorists are, however, "saying the right things now, but as they take on greater responsibility, we will assess not just their words but their actions." Within hours of U.S. Central Command forces conducting precision airstrikes on a different group of Islamic terrorists in Syria, Biden claimed credit for the demise of the Assad regime, suggesting that the following proved decisive: a "comprehensive sanctions program against [Assad]"; America's continued military presence in the country; support for "Israel's freedom of action against Iranian networks in Syria and against actors aligned with Iran"; and American military action against "Iranian networks." "Our approach has shifted the balance of power in the Middle East," said Biden. "Through this combination of support from our partners, sanctions, diplomacy, and targeted military force when necessary, we now see new opportunities opening up for the people of Syria and for the entire region." Biden vowed that the U.S. would do "whatever we can to support [the Syrian people], including through humanitarian relief to help restore Syria after more than a decade of war." Although with just weeks left in office, Biden has signaled a role for the U.S. in Syria following the regime change, President-elect Donald Trump appears less than enthused about the prospect of getting bogged down. Ahead of the rebel coalition taking Damascus, Trump noted on Truth Social, "Syria is a mess, but is not our friend, & THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT. LET IT PLAY OUT. DO NOT GET INVOLVED!" Vice President-elect JD Vance, responding to Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin's celebration of the regime change, tweeted Sunday, "As President Trump said, this is not our fight and we should stay out of it. Aside from that, opinions like the below make me nervous. The last time this guy was celebrating events in Syria we saw the mass slaughter of Christians and a refugee crisis that destabilized Europe." Like Blaze News? Biden's case to BLOCK Tennessee's child sex-change ban EXPLAINED

Biden's case to BLOCK Tennessee's child sex-change ban EXPLAINED

The Supreme Court spent last week hearing arguments over a Tennessee law that bans doctors from providing transgender puberty blockers or hormone treatments to minors. It’s a logical law that protects against the mutilation of children, but of course, the left is upset that kids won’t be given what it euphemistically calls “gender affirming care.” Despite being a state-level case, the Biden administration has intervened, apparently deciding that this will be the battle that concludes its disastrous term. Josh Hammer, senior editor at large for Newsweek, joins Jill Savage and Blaze News editor in chief Matthew Peterson on “Blaze News Tonight” to discuss the situation. “Does the Biden administration actually have grounds right now to intervene in a state policy like this?” Jill asks. Hammer explains that the Department of Justice filed what is called a writ of certiorari — a legal document that requires the Supreme Court to review a lower court’s decision, granted four SCOTUS judges agree to hear the case. “This case is styled U.S. vs. Skrmetti, which means that the United States is the lead plaintiff here,” Hammer says. “That actually has a very concrete, practical application when it comes to Donald Trump and JD Vance and Pam Bondi, assuming that she's going to be the AG pick come January 20.” “They can move to withdraw this case, and specifically, they should make a motion to ... dismiss it as ‘improvidently granted,’” meaning that SCOTUS should never have accepted the case for review in the first place, he adds. “There's no reason why the United States should be in the procedural posture of suing Tennessee for a common sensical, civilizationally sound law.” However, even if the Trump administration moves to “dig this case” and motion is denied, Hammer predicts the outcome will still be favorable. “I was pretty happy with the way this argument went,” he says. Peterson, who also watched the hearing, says that “the discrepancy between the two sides” was “astounding.” “On the one side, you have the ACLU lawyer claiming that less than 1% of minors who undergo this surgery have regrets, and then you have Tennessee and the attorney general saying, ‘No, no, actually 85% desists from transition,”’ he recounts. “You really do have two sides talking in completely different universes.” Hammer agrees: “What you saw at SCOTUS on Wednesday, I think, are two diametrically opposed conceptions of the human person. You saw two diametrically opposed conceptions of anthropology — of what it means to be human in the first place.” “On the one hand, you have the ACLU left-wing argument, which is that human life is basically a pick-your-own adventure. ... On the other hand, you have the old-fashioned view — the view of Genesis 1:27: ‘Male and female, God created them,”’ he adds. Because of the radically opposed viewpoints, “Neutrality here is just not an option.” “You actually have to put a thumb on the scale from both a political perspective and indeed from a judicial and a jurisprudential perspective here. At some point, you actually have to say that the moral heart of the issue in this particular case dictates that there is male and female and that we are not going to arbitrarily concoct some sort of pseudo classification based on alleged ‘transgender status,’” says Hammer. “I am hopeful that in the majority opinion, or at least in one of the concurrences there, that we will get some morally forthright language.” To hear more on the case, including Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson likening transgender surgeries on minors to interracial marriage, watch the clip above.
