Vice President Kamala Harris admitted during an interview with MSNBC that she wants mass amnesty for the millions of illegal immigrants who have come to the United States during the Biden-Harris administration.Telemundo host Julio Vaqueiro grilled Harris on her plans for addressing the massive issue, a longtime weak spot for Democrats even before the border crisis started when Joe Biden became president."Right now, we're talking about border security, and there's nobody, no Democrat, talking about pathway to citizenship, immigration relief, benefits that migrants bring to this country," Vaqueiro said to Harris."I am. I am talking about it. ... There's no question that ... migrants bring — America is a country that was built in part by immigrants," Harris stammered.When Vaqueiro brought up former President Donald Trump's plan to conduct mass deportations, Harris interjected that she is not proposing that."We need smart, humane immigration policy that includes a pathway to citizenship," Harris continued, adding a need for more "resources in terms of security" at the southern border.U.S. Customs and Border Protection finally released the data for the number of illegal immigrants encountered at the southern border for fiscal year 2024, which ended at the start of October.U.S Border Patrol encountered over 1.5 million illegal immigrants in this recent fiscal year, a slight drop from 2 million in fiscal year 2023. The drop in encounters, while still historically high, is due to the Biden-Harris administration expanding the nation's parole program, typically used on a case-by-case basis, to thousands of people per day. This was an effort to reduce the number of illegal crossings in order to reduce the bad optics of people flooding the border even though the strength of their cases is very much in doubt.Despite those efforts, illegal crossings in areas around Eagle Pass, Texas, are starting to pick up again as illegal immigrants want to enter the country before the presidential election.Like Blaze News? Battlefield 1 received an update on October 22 that updated the game's anti-cheat and in the process removed any compatibility for the Steam Deck. This isn't the first EA game to adopt an anti-cheat that isn't Linux-friendly, but it's painful nonetheless to see another game disappear from the Steam Deck library. EA is using EA Anti-Cheat (EAAC) in most of its in-house published games now, and the system isn't compatible with the best handheld gaming PC. In fact, it's not compatible with Linux at all, and it's led to a discussion around just how large the Steam Deck user base is if large publishers are happy to remove compatibility without remorse. This also recently happened to GTA 5 on Steam Deck, where an update also added an anti-cheat that is incompatible with Valve's handheld. That genre of fantasy adventure fell out of the mainstream quite some time ago, but the colossal success of Larian’s megahit brought it back to the forefront. From Ossian Studios, Pathfinder: The Dragon's Demand is poised to capitalize on that success. Built by Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights veterans, the entire game is based on the Pathfinder module of the same name, which itself is a spinoff of DnD. The Arc Raiders system requirements have been revealed with the first technical playtest taking place on October 24 and lasting four full days. These aren't the final specs, but they do offer a great insight into where the system requirements may sit come the 2025 release date. With technical tests, the listed specs can sometimes be inflated as the game isn't yet completely optimized and developers can often play it safe by selecting more powerful hardware to account for poor performance. This doesn't mean the best graphics card is required, but the Arc Raiders specs shouldn't be taken as final until specified as such by developer Embark Studios.
