Governor Youngkin: Trump Is Surging Because He Cares About What Voters Care About

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said over the weekend that former President Donald Trump was surging in the polls because he cares about the issues that matter the most to voters. Youngkin made the remarks during a “Fox News Sunday” interview with Shannon Bream while discussing the state of the 2024 presidential race. He said that the reason Democrats resort to making pathetic attacks against Trump is that they do not have a candidate in Vice President Kamala Harris who is “unable to really convey a future vision for the country and what she will do to tackle the most important issues.” “The reality, of course, is if they would just focus on what the voters are focusing on, which is the economy, the border, national security, and of course, feeling safe in our own country because of the number of illegal immigrants who have come across and turned every state into a border state,” Youngkin said. He said that as he travels around his purple state and listens to voters that what he hears is their “massive concern about the economic future and their ability to afford groceries, gas, tuition, and to buy a home or make rental payments.” “What I hear over and over again are major concerns about the millions of people that have come across the border and the hundreds of thousands of violent criminals that have crossed the border, just identified two weeks ago by senior ICE officials,” he said. “What I also hear are major concerns about safety. These are the topics President Trump is talking about.” “The reason why the other side can’t talk about them, and why they want to distract everyone, is because they have demonstrated over the last three and a half years that they don’t have the answers,” he continued. “They’ve unleashed unprecedented inflation that has been a gut punch anytime someone walks into a grocery store, they’ve allowed millions upon millions of illegal immigrants to come across the border and turn every state into a border state.” He said that what has happened over the last three and a half years is the result of having a weak president and vice president in office. “Americans and Virginians want strength back in the White House,” he concluded. “They want someone who will stand for a strong economy, where the lives of all Americans are lifted, like we had before. High growth and low inflation, not low growth and high inflation, where people can’t get great jobs, and where manufacturing comes back to the United States. This is the future Virginians and Americans are talking to me about, and that’s why we see President Trump surging in the polls around the country.” WATCH: @GovernorVA discusses the DOJ’s lawsuit against Virginia, over the timing of the removal of noncitizens from voter rolls. pic.twitter.com/RcxEVEzoTj — Fox News Sunday (@FoxNewsSunday) October 20, 2024

WSJ Dismisses Attacks On Trump’s ‘Mental Decline’ After 90-Minute Interview

WSJ Dismisses Attacks On Trump’s ‘Mental Decline’ After 90-Minute Interview

No evidence of former president Donald Trump’s alleged “mental decline” showed during Trump’s 90-minute interview with The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board last week. The former president’s age, 78, and mental acuity have become targets lately of Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign and other critics. The WSJ editorial board found no basis for the attacks during a lengthy interview with Trump on Thursday, however. In some ways, Trump seemed more knowledgeable and competent during the 90-minute grilling than he did eight years ago during his first run for the White House, according to WSJ. According to WSJ’s report on the meeting: “Lately Mr. Trump’s detractors have been speculating about his ‘mental decline.’ There’s no sign of such slippage in our Thursday meeting. The 2024 Trump seems more confident and is certainly more knowledgeable about policy than he was in 2015. His discursive style of talking can confuse listeners, but that was equally true nine years ago, and he never appears lost in his thoughts the way President Biden repeatedly did in their June debate.” Harris, who turned 60 on Sunday, has campaigned on the difference in age between herself and the former president, in addition to other issues. In a recent interview on Fox News, Harris said she represents a “new generation of leadership.” Over the weekend, Harris attacked Trump as “increasingly unstable and unhinged.” “He’s becoming increasingly unstable and unhinged, and it requires that response,” Harris told reporters on Saturday, according to CNN. “I think the American people deserve better than someone who actually seems to be unstable.” While Harris continues to question Trump’s fitness for office, she has avoided criticizing 81-year-old President Joe Biden, who’s mental acuity and health was seized on by Democrats who wanted Biden to end his reelection bid after the June 27 presidential debate. During the debate, Biden appeared muddled and nonsensical at times. Biden trailed Trump in polling amid the pressure to drop from the race. Harris has maintained that Biden’s mental acuity has not suffered at all during his time as president, and she has continuously defended the president over questions about his health despite the misgivings voiced by Democrats and donors prior to Biden dropping out of the race.

MOTHER'S EERIE 'DOPPELGANGER' & VOICE Force Family to Flee House!

The witness arrives home, hearing her parents arguing. They were both supposed to be at work. The witness freaks out and runs out of the house. Then things get really weird!I received the following account:"Hi. This story is from a childhood friend who told me this and it still unnerves me to this day. She was genuinely freaked out and her family even backed up her claims.Basically, my friend and her family moved into this rental property which my friend said was haunted. It gave everyone an 'off' feeling, those who visited or stayed over would mention it. I experienced this odd feeling of foreboding whenever I went over there and believed in the consensus that the house was haunted. It honestly felt oppressive in the house and you would feel this pitiful dread that is hard to compute into words and was extremely uncomfortable to experience, to say the least.Anyway, this particular inexplicable event, which is the basis of this post, was enough for my friend's family to pack up and stay with relatives until they moved out permanently. On this fateful afternoon, my friend had arrived back home from the park and heard an argument taking place in the kitchen between her mom and dad. My friend thought this was odd as both her parents should be at work so she called out, "Mom?" She then unlocked the front door and went inside. My friend said the house fell instantly silent. It was an uncanny silence like all the air had been sucked out of the place and felt stifling and wrong. Then her mom said, "Hey, Sara (my friend's name), we're in here." My friend was just outside the closed kitchen door at this point and froze beyond opening. It was her mother's voice but there was something off like the cadence was missing that made it her mother. It sounded flat and unnatural. My friend decided to bolt back out the front door and wait outside until her brother came home but she said as she turned back and looked toward the house. She saw her mother peering at her from the lounge room window. But it wasn't her mother. The face was the same, everything was the same but her face was devoid of anything that made it her mother. There was no recognition on her mother's face, there was no indication that she was looking directly at her daughter, and there was no emotion in her expression. Nothing. The eyes looked uncaring and utterly blank. My friend screamed and ran down the street to her mother's work and confirmed that she was there all this time and had never been home. Initially, my friend's mother reasoned that someone must have broken in but a later investigation proved nothing had been stolen and the back door was locked as was the front door when my friend came home. No one could rationalize who my friend saw in the window and why it looked so much like her mother (but not fully human) so that was the deciding factor for finding somewhere else to live. The landlord of the house denied anything like this happening when they lived there but did admit tenants didn't stay long saying there was something was "wrong" in the house. My friend also told me she was the only one who actually saw anything definitively sinister in the house, but her family said they definitely felt an evil presence there which ultimately manifested into the doppelganger experience my friend had. Utterly terrifying." S**********DJINN & CURIOUS MIDDLE EASTERN TALES | LIVE Chat | Q & A | Join Us! (MODERN & HISTORICAL ACCOUNTS)PHANTOMS & MONSTERS VIDEO LIBRARYPOLL: WHAT DO YOU THINK? Group of 7-12 FOOT TALL 'VERY DARK BIGFOOT' Seen in Tucker County, WV Field

Four occupants in a car were riding on a rural road in Tucker County, WV when they observed a group of upright, dark Bigfoot that were 7-12 feet in height walking in a field.I received the following account:"This happened on a Sunday morning at about 10:30 in the morning. Four of us were in a small car and went to the top of a hill where fields and hills were rolling off into the distance. In the fields, there are a few bushes and trees scattered about. The car was sitting perpendicular to this one field and hill.I looked up and saw four very dark and large creatures walking upright on the hill. At first, I thought they were bears, but why four? And why are they walking upright? They were taller than the bushes, but not quite as tall as the mature apple trees. They all looked somewhere between 7 to 12 feet tall. They were dark, very dark for how bright it was. Although they appeared hairy, I could not make out any features except that they were shaped very much like all the Bigfoot drawings that I have seen. Large head, large shoulders, huge chest, long arms, etc.I am sitting in the backseat behind the driver closest to this field. When I yelled to get everyone to look, I could see four of them, but one was disappearing over the top of the hill. As the driver looked up, he only saw three of them. Then my girlfriend beside me saw them, and she only saw two. The last person only saw one. They had covered a good 80-100 yards in mere seconds but seemed to only be lumbering along. I guess none of that part really matters, but it really kind of freaked us all out. Was this some kind of a warning or a foreboding? I would go first and then the driver and so on.We had planned to get out of the car and hang out up there for a while. But it was so eerily quiet, no cows, no birds, and even the insects seemed quiet. There were no odors, but we were downwind. It scared four country kids pretty well. The unnatural silence was what really got us. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. This occurred in Tucker County, West Virginia." Sundowners in Dogs: Signs, Diagnosis, Treatment & Care (Vet Answer)

Click to Skip Ahead What Is Sundowners? Sundowners vs. Alzheimer’s Signs Diagnosis Treatment Care Guide Every positive has a negative, and sadly, the privilege of living a long life comes with the downsides of getting old, and as age increases, so too do the chances of suffering some form of degenerative disease like dementia. Sometimes referred to as “Sundowners”, this sad and often debilitating condition affects 1 in 15 humans over the age of 75 years, and it is one of the most common reasons for euthanasia in elderly dogs. So, what exactly is Sundowners? Can it be prevented? And, how do we look after dogs that are affected by it? Keep on reading for the answers and advice you seek. What Is Sundowners? For those unfamiliar with the term, Sundowners is a deceptively cheerful term to describe the deterioration and degeneration of brain function known as dementia. The word comes from the tendency for the clinical signs of this condition to get worse in the evenings, as the sun goes down. Senile dementia, more accurately called cognitive dysfunction (CCD), is seen in dogs as well as humans, but diagnosis is not entirely straightforward, as there are a number of health conditions that may mimic the signs. And because our dogs can’t tell us if they are feeling confused, disoriented, or forgetful, it is up to us to monitor their habits and behavior to look for signs that things are not quite right. Another factor that makes canine dementia difficult to recognize is that the signs tend to appear quite gradually, and each dog will be affected, cope, and adjust differently. Most of the clinical signs of canine cognitive dysfunction (CCD) are behavioral, and people who are not familiar with your dog’s habits or personality may not even be aware that there is a problem, so it’s important to pay attention to any changes in your dog’s behavior and seek veterinary advice if things don’t seem right. Is Sundowners the Same As Alzheimer’s? No. Alzheimer’s Disease is fatal in humans, involving the accumulation of certain substances within the brain cells. It is one cause of dementia, but it also has other clinical signs and effects.1 One way of looking at it is that all Alzheimer’s patients have dementia, but not all dementia patients have Alzheimer’s. At present, there is no evidence that dogs can be affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Image Credit: Renko Aleks, Shutterstock What Are Signs of Sundowners? The nature of dementia is very unpredictable, and different dogs will have different experiences. For some, the disease may be severe and progress rapidly, while for others, the signs will barely be noticeable. Most importantly, many of the signs of CCD can coincide with signs of other health conditions, so do not dismiss any changes in your dog’s habits or behavior as just ‘old age’. Some of the more common changes and signs associated with CCD include: pacing, panting, or seeming generally unsettled, particularly at night soiling indoors asking for food when they have recently been fed (of course, this can simply be the sign of a greedy dog, but if this is unusual for your dog, it can be a sign of confusion) lethargy hyperactivity wanting to go out more/less often irritability or aggression changed interactions with other dogs or people changes in sleeping patterns disorientation, standing and staring into space How Is Sundowners Diagnosed There is no specific test for CCD, and diagnosis is based on a combination of taking a detailed owner history, physical examination, and laboratory tests to rule out other health conditions. If you think your dog could be suffering from dementia, it may be useful to start keeping a diary of the changes and signs that are concerning you. Additionally, there is a helpful assessment tool created by Dr Gary Landsberg, a leading authority in canine and feline cognitive dysfunction. It uses the acronym ‘DISHAA’ to help navigate the areas affected: D – Disorientation I – Social Interactions S – Sleep/Awake Cycles H – Housesoiling, Learning & Memory A – Activity A – Anxiety It is important to schedule an appointment with your vet to talk about any of the changes you have noticed. If your dog’s signs are due to CCD, there are some things that can be done to help, and the earlier we start, the better. Image Credit: SeventyFour, Shutterstock How Is Sundowners Treated? Sadly, there is no cure for dementia, and it is likely that your dog’s condition will progress over time. There are a few medications and supplements that have been found to help slow the progression of deterioration, and even alleviate some of the current clinical signs. Medication Selegiline: Commonly used to help control the clinical signs of Parkinson’s Disease in humans, this drug has three main benefits for dogs with cognitive dysfunction. Increases dopamine levels in the brain, improving brain function and mood Reduces the amount of free radicals in the brain that can cause nerve damage Promotes the synthesis of new nerve growth factors, aiding repair Propentofylline: Improves blood flow and circulation to and around the brain, leading to increased alertness and energy levels for dogs suffering cognitive dysfunction. Nutritional Management Studies have found that dogs fed a high-quality diet designed for their size and life stage are significantly less likely to suffer from CCD as they get older, indicating that getting the right balance of nutrients, as well as enhanced fatty acid and antioxidant levels, are essential for good health throughout your dog’s whole life. Some ingredients to look out for in both your dog’s food and supplements include: Arginine Antioxidants, including vitamins C, E, and selenium B vitamins Fish oil containing DHA and EPA Omega-3 fatty acids } Known collectively as the “brain protection blend” (BPB)   Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) Phosphatidylserine Ginkgo biloba Resveratrol, L-carnitine Alpha-lipoic acid Coenzyme Q Selenium How Can I Help a Dog With Sundowners? Apart from using the treatments discussed above, there are a few things you can do to help your dog get the most enjoyment out of their twilight years. Here are just a few: Stick to a routine as much as possible Take them for regular vet checks to ensure they are receiving appropriate treatment for this, and any concurrent medical conditions—diseases like cancer, kidney disease, and arthritis become much more common as dogs get older, so it’s important to stay on top of their health care. Avoid moving furniture around – rearranging the house can cause stress and confusion, and dogs with failing vision will rely on their memory to navigate the layout of your home. Leave some lights on at night – most dogs over the age of 8 or 9 years develop nuclear sclerosis (aka lenticular sclerosis), a normal aging condition that increases the opacity of the lens, gradually reducing the amount of light that can reach the back of the eye. This can have a significant impact on your dog’s night vision, which can be very stressful for a dog that is used to being able to see well in the dark. Check in with your dog regularly so they know where you are in the house Be patient with them, and don’t get angry about toileting accidents—Let them out later in the evening, earlier in the morning, and possibly during the night if needed. “Use it or lose it” as the saying goes, and keeping your dog’s mind active can help them stay mentally sharp. Dogs that aren’t able to be as physically active as they once were can still be challenged with puzzles, trips to new locations, and scent training/retrieving. Perform ‘quality of life’ checks with your dog, and make sure that they are still getting plenty of enjoyment out of life. Sometimes the stress and anxiety caused by dementia can become overwhelming for our pets, and we need to be able to recognize if that happens. Dogs with advanced cognitive dysfunction will often ‘go through the motions’ of eating, drinking, etc, but are unable to manage anything beyond that, particularly if they are struggling with other health issues like arthritis. Dementia is a progressive condition, but not a fatal one. You may need to consider euthanasia for your canine companion if their quality of life becomes poor. Final Thoughts We all want our dogs to live a long and happy life, but unfortunately, old age brings with it some unavoidable downsides. Canine cognitive dysfunction, also known as dementia or ‘Sundowners’ is one of the conditions we see in dogs as they get older, and it can be distressing to witness. There are a number of ways that the progress of this cruel disease can be slowed down, and things we can do to make our dog’s final years as happy, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. The earlier we start intervention for geriatric health conditions like dementia, the greater our chances of improving our dog’s quality of life, for as long as we can. If you have an older dog, talk to your vet about having a full health assessment so that you can make sure you are doing everything you can to make their retirement years great. Is your car a lemon? How to tell — and what to do about it

Does your car spend more time in the shop than in your driveway? And for the same repairs, over and over again?Congratulations — you might just have a lemon. The term 'lemon' is often tossed around to refer to any beat-up car, but it’s actually a legal distinction, indicating a defective product that is therefore covered under applicable statutes and special lemon laws in your state.Ok, it's not exactly something to celebrate, but the good news is you do have the leverage to seek a refund or replacement and maybe reimbursement for repairs. All thanks to lemon laws. What are lemon laws? Before I talk about what lemon laws cover, let me be clear about what they don't: any complaints about a vehicle’s fundamental design or other non-critical issues such as squeaks and rattles, minor vibrations, or fading paint.Lemon laws only apply to problems that either impair the normal operation of the vehicle or affect its value, intended use, or safety — problems that the manufacturer has failed to fix satisfactorily after ample opportunities to do so. If you have a vehicle that breaks down or fails in some way, even frequently, but in different ways each time, then you're probably NOT going to be covered. The awful truth in that case is probably that you don't have legal grounds to be reimbursed; you simply have an unreliable, trouble-prone, or poorly designed car.The term “lemon” is often tossed around to refer to any beat-up car, but it’s actually a legal distinction, indicating a defective product that is therefore covered under applicable statutes and special lemon laws in your state. Lemon laws vary from state to state. In some states, used vehicles are covered, and in others, the law applies only to new vehicles. Some states may also include motorcycles and RVs in lemon laws. How do I find my state's specific lemon law?Check the Center for Automotive Safety for state-by-state lists, including details about what’s covered under lemon laws and contact numbers for more information on each state. How do I know if my car is covered? Here are three basic conditions you need for your car to qualify for lemon law coverage: 1. They’re doing the same repair over and over again. The vehicle has an issue that's ongoing or has occurred repeatedly that you've first given the manufacturer (through a dealership service department) several chances to repair. Lemon law usually applies only after the manufacturer has tried to fix a particular problem three or four different times (depending on the state) and has failed to provide a lasting solution.Again, if your car has had many different but unrelated repairs during the warranty period, then it is not covered by lemon law. Your best solution in that case would be to contact the manufacturer and inquire about the possibility of a warranty extension.2. It’s a nearly new vehicle (to you).Lemon law only applies during the first year or two and first 12,000 or 24,000 miles of vehicle ownership, depending on the state. Identification of the problem and all of the repair attempts must be made during this period. If the problem first occurred in the first year of ownership but subsequent repairs were not made until later years, then the vehicle will likely not be covered under lemon law.3. You own rather than lease.Lemon law does not usually apply to leased cars. That’s because the manufacturer or a bank is the actual owner of a leased car, and lemon law often only applies to the original buyer even if the car was bought used when less than a year old.How do I strengthen my case?1. Keep all your repair documentation.Document each repair done during the warranty period. Keep all of your receipts. Consumer laws won’t apply unless you keep your own records as proof of all repairs done. Keep copies of the original repair order for each repair and make sure that the dealership correctly documents your problem and how long your car was in for the repair (In some states, 30 days in repair in the course of a year defines a lemon car). Also, make sure you get a repair invoice for repairs covered by technical service bulletins.2. Create and keep your own documentation. If a component of your car that has already been repaired fails in a situation where it puts your safety in jeopardy or causes an accident, document it with pictures, witnesses, and a police report, if applicable. How do I file under lemon law?Filing a complaint and getting the lemon law process underway again depends on what state you reside in and where you purchased the car. In some states, filing a lemon law complaint involves no more than filling out a formal complaint form, but in many other states, it is a more complicated legal process and involves the hiring of an attorney. In either case, the advice of an attorney who is familiar with your state’s lemon laws will increase your chance of getting the refund. If satisfactory action still isn't taken, be sure to lodge a consumer complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Consumer complaints are the primary signal for the NHTSA to launch an investigation on a particular problem. This often leads to recalls (if it relates to safety in some way) or technical service bulletins regarding the problems.NOTE: The 30-day lemon law for used cars means that if a car is being repaired for 30 days out of a year, it is a lemon. However, the nuances of the law vary by state. Whether or not the lemon law can be applied to a used car with no warranty depends on the issue with the car and the specifics of the state’s laws.So never buy a car that says “no warranty expressed or implied” as you will have no protections. Buyer beware. What if my car isn't covered? In the case that the lemon law doesn’t apply to you or if lemon law doesn’t give you the retribution you desire, there are often other laws that may apply. If your car is highly troublesome but not covered under lemon law, first try contacting the regional service representative of the manufacturer. Document and request return receipts for all communications. Manufacturers will often take generous actions to maintain their reputations.I hope you don't need the above information. But if you do, I hope you find it useful — and don't get too frustrated with the process. We all know what they say about life giving you lemons.
