Battleground State Has About 500,000 More On Voter Rolls Than Eligible Voting Population

With the 2024 election under three weeks away, Michigan, among the most critical battleground states, has immensely bloated voter rolls. According to Bridge Michigan, the state’s voter rolls have nearly 500,000 more than the eligible voting population. “The state currently has 8.4 million registered voters, according to the latest records obtained by Bridge Michigan, nearly 500,000 more than the number of people in the state who are old enough to vote,” Bridge Michigan wrote. Michigan’s voter rolls are under scrutiny less than three weeks from the Nov. 5 election, following a report the state has 500,000 more registered voters than people old enough to vote. The discrepancy has led to concerns about election integrity. https://t.co/ePN7wWtyrP — NEWSMAX (@NEWSMAX) October 19, 2024 The outlet noted Michigan’s voter rolls are among the most bloated in the nation. A voter-approved 2018 proposal that automatically registers those 18 and older to vote when applying for a driver’s license, unless they opt out, is partially blamed for the imbalance. Bridge Michigan reports: The Republican National Committee sued the state in federal court over the issue in February, demanding the state trim the rolls. The GOP in 2020 filed a similar suit, which was dismissed after thousands were removed from the rolls. A spokesperson for Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who has been named in multiple lawsuits, said the complaints are part of an effort to sow distrust of elections. The lawsuits, including three filed in the last month, “lay the groundwork to overturn the results of the election if they don’t like them,” said Angela Benander. The legal challenges “are an attempt to cause people to question the process,“ Benander said. The GOP lawsuit did not allege fraud but argued the rolls increase the opportunity for it. The suit also claims that inflated rolls cause political parties to spend more money on mailers and other voter outreach. Since the lawsuit was filed, more than 200,000 more people have registered. Although 600,000 inactive voters are scheduled to be purged from the state’s voter rolls, it won’t be completed until 2027. NEW – 500,000 more people are registered to vote in Michigan, than those old enough to vote. Democrat officials say they'll purge over 600,000 "inactive voters" after this election. pic.twitter.com/xeMpHk2Jsj — Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) October 19, 2024 A closer look: (Credit: Bridge Michigan) Per Newsmax: Secretaries of state are required by law to maintain clean voter rolls by removing people who have died, moved, been convicted of a felony, or have otherwise become ineligible to vote. Benson’s office has removed approximately 800,000 voters since 2019 and plans to remove another 360,000 in 2025. Still, more than 200,000 new voters have registered since the RNC lawsuit was filed, further complicating the issue.

Trump Might Not Participate with Government Transition Team

According to Politico, Donald Trump might not engage with the presidential transition system involving the federal government. This has implications for government coordination, cybersecurity, and transparency. The report says it will slow his takeover of the federal government. In 2016, the federal transition side slowed the transition and worked against him at every opportunity. Vegas Swing Voter on PBS News Hour: Donald Trump One Who 'Slept Their Way to the Top'!

Sarah Longwell ran Republican Voters Against Trump in 2020, which spent millions of dollars to defeat President Trump. She's at it again in 2024. On Wednesday, Judy Woodruff and the PBS News Hour pretended she's a "Republican Strategist," even as she campaigned on Monday with Harris and Liz Cheney in three states.   Woodruff presented "Republican strategist and host of "The Focus Group" podcast, Sarah Longwell….Longwell is the publisher of The Bulwark, a center-right media outlet opposed to Donald Trump. She runs focus groups like these across the country, using a nonpartisan approach to better understand all voters' thinking." This matches the dishonest branding of The Bulwark as "No partisan loyalties. No tribal prejudices." Even as Longwell's out on the campaign trail with Kamala. At least Longwell's focus group of swing voters in Nevada -- who voted Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020 -- produced an eye-opening smidgen of a discussion about Kamala Harris being "mentored" in the 1990s while she was dating a much older Willie Brown, who then became mayor of San Francisco. There were no specifics, just a voter worried about "sleeping her way to the top." Another swing voter ripped Trump as somehow sleeping his way to the top! PBS did not jump in to say there was "No Evidence" of that. NICOLE, Nevada Voter: I'm very uncertain about her. There's just a feeling. And I'm going to do lots more research before I do vote. There are rumors and things that I need to research more. Still leaning towards him a little bit more. SARAH LONGWELL: Rumors about her. Like, what kind of rumors? NICOLE: Sleeping her way to the top. Anybody can say that about a woman. I'm tired of hearing that. Hopefully, it's not true. MARGIE, Nevada Voter: Well, what about the men that slept their way to the top? There's a lot of them. NICOLE: There are. Yes. MARGIE: We should give them both… I mean, Trump's done a lot of that. So, hey, there you go. NICOLE: He's had how many wives? But, yes, no, I'm tired of hearing it about women. Like, because just she went to school. She has… MEAGAN, Nevada Voter: So why bring it up now? NICOLE: These are rumors that I need to research. MEAGAN: Okay. NICOLE: That's what I said. MARIA, Nevada Voter: But she was elected to all of her positions. So there is no sleeping her way to the top with that. A few seconds before, Margie gushed over Kamala Harris taking over for Biden: "I felt like I had a breath of fresh air. It was shocking to me. But I think it was like, oh, my gosh, somebody else. And it just infused so much energy. And I was like, oh, I like this!" This was on the same show that PBS interviewed James Carville.
