HEAD IN SAND: Paul Krugman Claims Bidenomics Has Been Vindicated

How far does your head need to be buried in the sand to convince yourself that Bidenomics has been absolved of all the disaster it wrought on the U.S. economy? Only New York Times economics pseudo-savant Paul Krugman appears to know. Krugman's desperate attempts to rewrite the pathetic story of Bidenomics continues to get worse with each new column he spits out on The Times’s homepage. “All the Good Economic News Vindicates Bidenomics,” read Krugman’s latest drivel-laced headline. “It’s hard to overstate just how good recent economic numbers have been,” pointing to a small string of meaningless anecdotes that get obliterated in context, especially in light of the aftermath of the blistering inflation crisis Americans have wrestled with for years under President Joe Biden. Krugman asked his readers if his uncontextualized view of Biden’s supposedly “solid” jobs “growth,” so-called “falling inflation” and low unemployment rate “vindicate Bidenomics?” In Krugman’s view, “I would say yes — but not quite the way you might imagine.” Krugman’s new spin not only gaslights on the true, precarious state of Biden’s economy, but he also claims that Biden’s policies aren’t necessarily the cause of the mirage of success he’s cheering for: But if President Biden’s policies weren’t the main cause of low unemployment and inflation, why do I say they were vindicated? Because our success at getting to the good place where we are right now shows that progressive economic policies are, in fact, feasible. Huh? Somebody please make it make sense!  Krugman’s assertion that inflation is “falling” is grossly misleading given that prices haven’t gone down. In fact, consumer prices are a whopping 20 percent higher than they were since Biden took office, and still increasing, albeit at a slower rate, according to Heritage Foundation economist E.J. Antoni. In fact, wrote Antoni in a post on X, “many consumer staples are up 30% to 40% - or more.”  On jobs, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released a Sept. 27 analysis sounding the alarm on “America’s labor shortage.” According to the analysis, “Even if every unemployed worker were to fill an open job within their respective industry, there would still be millions of unfilled job positions, highlighting the widespread labor shortage.” In August, Antoni confirmed to MRC Business that “[o]ver 5 million Americans are still missing from the labor force compared to pre-pandemic.”  Prices overall have risen 20% since Jan '21, according to the CPI, but many consumer staples are up 30% to 40% - or more: pic.twitter.com/n2Vx3g0EAx — E.J. Antoni, Ph.D. (@RealEJAntoni) October 12, 2024 But there is a laundry list of other mitigating factors that undercut Krugman’s starry-eyed euphoria about the Biden economy. The Ascent reported Oct. 8 that 63 percent of U.S. employees can’t afford a $500 emergency expense. In addition, “76% of employees don't have enough savings to cover one month of their expenses” and “Over one-third of employees earning $100,000 or more live paycheck to paycheck.” Another Sept. 25 analysis by the Financial Health Network determined that “the majority of Americans are not financially healthy, with expenses outpacing income, little wiggle room to protect against financial shocks, and diminished hope for the future.” But Krugman, clearly high on his own unbreakable ego, had the audacity to lecture critics of giving dire predictions about the economy that, in his view, haven’t panned out, despite the fact that he’s the same person who spent months falsely lecturing the country that the inflation crisis was transitory: In other words, many of those dire predictions about the economy should be seen as ideological, or just cynical assertions that if you try to protect the environment and help families and important industries — as opposed to, say, cutting taxes on the rich — you’ll wreck the economy. Looks like Krugman just happened to mind-wipe the past three and a half years of the Biden policy-induced economic disaster from his memory’s data bank. It’s difficult to find a media talking head more disconnected from economic reality than Krugman, who spent America’s bout with inflation cushioned on top of a $5 million net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth.  American Enterprise Institute fellows Danielle Pletka and Marc A. Thiessen were more forthcoming about the enormous struggles facing Americans under Bidenomics: [W]hile inflation may be lower today than it was three years ago, its compounding effects mean that prices are still sky-high. On top of that, Americans recently hit a record high of over a trillion dollars in credit card debt. In short, it doesn’t take a PhD to understand that Americans are hurting. It also doesn’t take a PhD to conclude that Krugman is about as much of a serious economist as a hammerhead shark is a serious vegan. Conservatives are under attack. Contact The New York Times at 1 (800) 698-4637 and demand it distance itself from Krugman’s terrible economic takes.

NBC Only Newscast to Report Latest on ISIS-K Election Day Attack

Although NBC News is a card-carrying member of the Regime Media in good standing, from time to time they will attempt to commit random acts of journalism- more reliably so than their Regime counterparts. Case in point, their reporting on the latest developments regarding the foiled ISIS-K Election Day attack. Here is the brief in its entirety as seen on NBC Nightly News on Tuesday, October 16th, 2024: LESTER HOLT: New details tonight about the Afghan suspect arrested in the U.S. for an alleged terror plot on Election Day. Tom Winter is here. Tom, what do officials know about this? TOM WINTER: Well, Lester, an Afghan man arrested by the FBI here in the U.S. last week was plotting an Election Day attack directed by ISIS-K, the ISIS branch based in Afghanistan, according to two U.S. officials. Nasir Tawhedi was allegedly going to commit a mass shooting. He has yet to enter a plea. This is significant because most would-be attackers over the past ten years have been self-radicalized so-called lone wolves. Now the same group behind the attack that killed 130 near Moscow is believed to be responsible for planning an attack on our Election Day, officials say. The U.S. has been successful in identifying recent terror plots including an ISIS-inspired plot against a Taylor Swift concert this summer. Lester. HOLT: All right, Tom Winter. Thanks.  More details beyond the brief per NBC News: Tawhedi had worked as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan, two sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News last week. A month after the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan, he arrived in the U.S. in September 2021 on a special immigrant visa, court documents said. Tawhedi had passed two rounds of vetting — as every Afghan resettled in the U.S. undergoes a rigorous screening and vetting process regardless of which agency they previously worked with — and no derogatory information was detected, a senior administration official familiar with the details previously told NBC News. Tawhedi’s mother, who lives in Afghanistan, is believed to be an ISIS sympathizer, two U.S. officials said.  There does, though, appear to be some conflict with the reporting on Tawhedi’s vetting. Perhaps this explains the rest of the media’s reluctancy to cover the story. Reports of an unvetted Afghan national conspiring with ISIS-K (the same people behind the horrific Abbey Gate attack that left 13 service members dead and maimed many others) would be catastrophic for the Regime. Per Fox News Senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich: The Biden-Harris administration now admits that an Afghan national accused of plotting an election day terror attack did not undergo certain vetting they previously claimed he passed. Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi was never vetted or approved by the State Department for special immigrant (SIV) status, despite officials from other agencies claiming that he cleared that stringent process.  Additionally, sources familiar with the investigation tell FOX that Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi was not well known to the US government when the administration facilitated his departure to the U.S., despite his security role with the CIA in Afghanistan. FOX has learned Tawhedi was employed as a local guard outside the base perimeter and he would not have been among the most thoroughly vetted U.S. partners. The news upends claims officials made last week that Tawhedi was vetted three times: 1) to work for the CIA in Afghanistan 2) to come to the U.S. on DHS humanitarian parole during the withdrawal, and 3) when he was approved for special immigrant (SIV) status after arriving in the U.S. Officials now acknowledge Tawhedi was never vetted or approved for special immigrant (SIV) status, a thorough State Department process which can take years to complete. The State Department has maintained all along it had no role in Tawhedi’s refugee status, despite what a DHS case agent told investigators -- leading to its inaccurate mention in the DOJ criminal complaint. NBC deserves credit for reporting the story, which the rest of the Regime outlets avoided altogether. But the details as reported by Heinrich are terrifying, and merit broader coverage. As is the case with many stories not reported over the course of the last three and half years, the easiest standard to apply remains “what of Trump?” What if a dangerous terrorist were allowed into the country unvetted (or at least with conflicting reports of vetting) under the Trump Administration? The question is NOT whether or not it would be covered, but rather, how many A-block minutes would the story garner and over how many days, especially three weeks from a presidential election? You may find, dear reader, that there is a (D)ifference as to how such things are covered.  P.S: Per the great Sultan Knish, the failed border deal may would have legalized this potential ISIS-K terrorist, and many others: Operation Allies Welcome brought huge numbers of Afghans here were allowed to go to the airport by the Taliban The Biden Harris administration refuses to deport them and keeps trying to legalize them The so-called bipartisan immigration deal would have legalized all the Afghans https://t.co/YydPTEXBkV — Daniel Greenfield - "Hang Together or Separately" (@Sultanknish) October 16, 2024

Lemon: ‘Far-Right’ Media, ‘Misogyny’, ‘Sexism’ Are Why Black Men Have Ditched Kamala

Monday on his eponymous independent show, former CNN host Don Lemon lashed out at black and Latino men who’ve, at a minimum, shown an iciness toward Vice President Kamala Harris and an openness to former President Trump. This, Lemon argued, was due to consummation of a “center right or far right” media “ecosystem” of “digital, streaming podcasts” as well as “misogyny” and “sexism” “that they're being left behind, especially by women.” Later in the show, Lemon surprisingly came to the defense of CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil by rebuking CBS News for their all-but public struggle sessions by pro-Palestinian employees humiliating Dokoupil for his grilling of author Ta-Nehisi Coates. But starting with minorities being interested in Trump, Lemon first lamented that “young men of all ethnicities are listening to media now...as we call ‘mainstream media’ or ‘corporate media’” but rather “digital, streaming, podcasts, all of this and in that ecosystem, everything is pretty much to the right — either center right or far right.”     Lemon continued by taking a dig at minority men for consuming the same news as white people: And so, black men and Latino men are listening to the same sort of media BS that white men in general are listening to and let's not forget the elephant in the room...is sexism, is misogyny men feel that they're being left behind, especially by women, they're resentful of it and whether you want to believe that or not, it is a real thing, right? Pivoting last week to Barack Obama’s public shaming of black men for not rallying behind Harris as the Democratic Party would like, Lemon praised him for what our friend Peter Hasson argued was Obama “clearly implying here that...black men who don’t vote Democrat in this election are secret bigots, as opposed to rational actors.” “I think telling the truth — many people don't wanna hear it,” Lemon argued in a lead-in to part of Obama’s remarks to a group of black men. After the clip, he praised Obama for hitting them for “coming up with all these excuses about her that are not right, that your information is off”. Lemon doubled down on the sexism angle, arguing those expressing uproar about it just don’t like “tough conversations” and won’t accept that “sometimes, people need to be chastised” (click “expand”): [Y]ou're using every excuse in the book except the one that is probably the most accurate and truthful one. And that is she's a woman and you don't think a woman or you don't want a woman to be the president of the United States because you don't think that she's deserving of it or there's some, you know, internalize misogyny or — and you're being sexist, basically, it's what he said. (....) [T]here's also some truth into what Barack Obama is saying and some people may not like to hear it and I think that was a tough conversation to have. Tough conversations are just that tough and people don't want to hear them. Sometimes people need to be chastised, right? You don't want your message to bounce off. I don't think that all the blame should be put on black men, but the black men that I have spoken to and I continue to speak to on a daily basis, come up with these excuses and these reasons that are just inaccurate. They're just plain wrong.  Lemon paused to recap the argument he was making that minority men aren’t getting in line because they’re falling victim to “misinformation,” “the media ecosystem” they consume, misogyny, and being a conservative. Even the latter was unacceptable to Lemon because “usually, people cannot come up with...reasons” why Harris is bad on policy. Lemon further unspooled that shaming is caring and compared Obama to a loving parent (click “expand”): [S]hould you be chastising people? Ummm. Listen — I mean, you guys may not like it. I don't see sometimes, what a little bit — I don't see what's wrong with some chastising. I really don't because, most of the time, that I have learned and I have corrected course has been when someone chastised me — someone who was in a position of power, who knew better when they chastised me and they shocked me into reality. (....) I believe Barack Obama is holding up a mirror. Now, I wasn't insulted by it because that did not, I'm a black man. That did not apply to me because I am neither of those things. I'm also informed. And so, that didn't offend me.  (....) But just because someone is telling you the truth and you don't wanna hear it does not necessarily mean that it's wrong. Because when your parents chastise you, did you want to hear it? Do you think that that was the right thing to do? Were they trying to — was there a sort of scared straight aspect to it? Of course, that's what it is and perhaps in this day and time, maybe folks need that. Now, you can disagree with me all you want. I'm just saying the truth often hurts and people become offended by the truth. As for Dokoupil, he said “messy conversations” are great so “long as people are respectful” and, when that condition is met, “you should keep the corporate overlords out of it” and “[n]o one should be putting their thumb on the scale.” Lemon then outlined what CBS should have done, which was stand behind Dokoupil as having engaged in “good journalism” and “spark[ed] another conversation” versus “embarrassing him” and letting news executives run roughshod (click “expand” to read more of what Lemon had to say about this): Don Lemon argues CBS News should *not* have done the Struggle Sessions embarrassing Tony Dokoupil for his Ta-Nehisi Coates interview: "CBS should have responded, saying this is good journalism and this will spark another conversation and this is what we do at CBS News instead… pic.twitter.com/3Cm1LLOXu1 — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) October 15, 2024 To see the relevant transcript from Lemon’s show on October 14, click here.

Not Happy With FEMA Hurricane Response? Mayorkas Calls Complaints Disinfo

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been exposed for running a vast government censorship enterprise and yet he made a new call to fact-check views that taint the image of the department he oversees.  Sec. Mayorkas joined CBS host Margaret Brennan on the Oct. 13 edition of Face the Nation following the tumult of Hurricane Milton. During the show, Mayorkas ranted about the threat of so-called misinformation about the DHS’s response to the recent hurricane disasters. “Well, I'll tell you what we need. We need individuals, elected officials, people who have the platform to really debunk this false information and we are not having enough of that and I find that to be incredibly irresponsible,” he said.  Brennan teed up Mayorkas for his rant against alleged misinformation with her question about “dangerous misinformation being amplified online,” She asked Mayorkas, "Are you concerned when you see this and how widespread it is that it is a preview of what is to come with the upcoming US election as well, an attempt to manipulate people.”  Mayorkas responded by saying that he was “incredibly concerned,” defining disinformation as “false information deliberately spread to impact people's behavior” and claiming the issue is “extremely pernicious.” The so-called “false” information Mayorkas referred to included online outrage aimed at the DHS-led FEMA response to Hurricane Milton. For example, X owner Elon Musk took to his platform to highlight a message from a SpaceX engineer warning him about FEMA’s misdeeds. “The big issue is FEMA is actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away to state they are their own. It’s very real and scary how much they have taken control to stop people helping.” Just received this note from a SpaceX engineer helping on the ground in North Carolina. @FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help! “Hey Elon, update here on site of Asheville, NC. We have powered up two… — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 4, 2024 Mayorkas’ call for censorship and fact-checking follows the major backlash he received for admitting that FEMA “does not have the funds” to properly support Americans through the rest of hurricane season. This came after the agency spent over 1.4 billion since the fall of 2022 to supposedly deal with the migrant crisis at the southern border. FEMA denied both of these claims in its “Hurricane Rumor Response” page designed to mitigate these complaints. These comments are not a one-off example of Mayorkas’s anti-free speech approach to DHS operations. Mayorkas’s DHS has been notorious for its censorship endeavors.  For example, in 2022 it released a National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin that claimed that one of the “key factors” of a “heightened” terrorism threat included “false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19.”   Mayorkas also worked to establish a Disinformation Governance Board to collude with Big Tech platforms to target online speech and under Mayorkas’s supervision, the DHS has also financed censorship initiatives across the country that target American schools and journalism.     Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representative and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on so-called “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. Florida says man abandoned his dog before the hurricane. State plans to bring down the hammer.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced on Tuesday authorities have found the man who they say was responsible for tying up a dog to a fence and abandoning him as Hurricane Milton was approaching the state last week. The dog was found near the interstate by Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Orlando Morales. By the time Morales found the dog, now named Trooper, he was standing in a large puddle of water due to the heavy rain. In the video that went viral of the moment Trooper was rescued, the bull terrier was distressed and initially suspicious of Morales. 'State Troopers secured and executed a felony arrest warrant yesterday on Giovanny Aldama Garcia, 23.' "I'm proud to announce the authorities have identified the dog's former owners, and State Attorney Suzy Lopez is now pursing animal cruelty charges against the individual. We said you'd be held accountable, and you will be held accountable," DeSantis said. — (@) "Based upon a subsequent criminal investigation, State Troopers secured and executed a felony arrest warrant yesterday on Giovanny Aldama Garcia, 23, of Ruskin, Florida, for aggravated animal cruelty. Our agency is grateful for the unprecedented support of State Attorney Suzy Lopez and her prosecutors, particularly during a state of emergency," said Dave Kerner, executive director of Florida's Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. — (@) "An arrest has been made in this case. Trooper’s former owner is going to be facing aggravated animal cruelty charges. We take this crime very seriously and this defendant will face the consequences of his actions," Lopez said on X. NewsNation reporter Brian Entin revealed Garcia apparently told law enforcement the reason he abandoned Trooper was because he "couldn’t find anyone to pick the dog up."Trooper is now receiving care at the Leon County Humane Society in Tallahassee.Like Blaze News? Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 and 5060 could launch sooner than expected, says leak

We could be getting the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 as soon as March 2025, while the RTX 5070 will arrive in February 2025, according to a new rumor. If this leak is to be believed, then Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 graphics cards could be here far sooner after the RTX 5090 and 5080 launch than we would normally expect. The next generation of Nvidia graphics cards have long been rumored to be publicly announced during the CES 2025 tech trade show in Las Vegas in January 2025. Based on everything we've seen so far, we’d strongly expect these new GPUs to be among the best graphics cards you can buy, with the RTX 5090 in particular replacing the Nvidia RTX 4090 at the very top of the performance pack. However, realistically it will be cards like the RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 that most gamers will be buying, so news of a sooner than expected arrival is cause for celebration, if it turns out to be true. Stock of the hugely popular AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is all but dried up in retailers worldwide, hinting that one of AMD's most impactful processors ever is finally on its way out. So if you are looking to finally upgrade your AMD AM4 system to the best gaming CPU you can buy for that platform, now is the time. With its revolutionary 3D V-Cache tech, the 5800X3D - and other X3D processors - transformed AMD's gaming CPU performance, with the 5800X3D being the best gaming CPU around when it launched. However, that was two years ago and the PC landscape has moved on rapidly with AMD's even more dominant AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D having stolen the 5800X3D's crown while ushering in a new era of the AMD AM5 platform using DDR5 memory.
