Plagiarism Expert Drops Damning Post After Being Cited in NYT Article Downplaying Allegations Against Kamala Harris

As one gets older, one finds solace in the little extras in life, the little things you don't usually notice. The flowering tree that's unusually fragrant this year. An especially well-made burger from your favorite greasy spoon. A long email or message from an old friend you haven't caught up...

Multiple Medical Emergencies Force President Trump To Cut Town Hall Short

President Trump cut his Pennsylvania town hall short Monday night after multiple audience members experienced medical emergencies. The event, which took place in the Philadelphia suburbs, had two lengthy pauses due to medical episodes in the crowd. Trump forced to cut Pennsylvania town hall short after multiple audience members experience health emergencies https://t.co/AOaxl14WKL pic.twitter.com/jKtaplj3MM — New York Post (@nypost) October 15, 2024 6 ABC reports: There was a medical emergency that required an attendee to be placed on a stretcher about 30 minutes into the event. As the crowd started singing “God Bless America,” Trump requested that “Ave Maria” be played on the loudspeakers as medics tended to the man. Moments later, there was a second medical emergency. “The safety and well-being of President Trump’s supporters is always his top priority,” Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s campaign press secretary, said in a statement to ABC News after the event. “The two individuals who fainted were immediately given medical attention. As President Trump said tonight, they are great patriots,” Leavitt added. Following the medical emergencies, Trump requested that the doors be opened but he was advised that for security reasons that wasn’t possible. Both Trump and moderator South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem commented on the heat in the room. “Open the doors. I wish we could open those doors to outside,” Trump said. “For security reasons, they can’t. But you know what I suggest? Open them. Because anybody comes through those doors, you know what’s going to happen to them.” WATCH: There have now been two medical emergencies at Trump's Pennsylvania Town Hall. Please pray for everyone there. This is very unusual. Trump's patience is unmatched. pic.twitter.com/NheKrM06st — George (@BehizyTweets) October 14, 2024 "Personally, I enjoy this. We lose weight. We can do this, lose four or five pounds, it's okay with me…They don't want to give us air conditioning…Would anybody else like to faint? Please raise your hand." — Trump reacting to room temperature, Town Hall, Oaks, Pennsylvania pic.twitter.com/BAFtUmvD1I — Howard Mortman (@HowardMortman) October 15, 2024 From the New York Post: The much-hyped event initially went sideways when attendees heard a loud thud of what sounded like someone falling from bleachers — before a heavyset middle-aged man was wheeled out on a stretcher with his shirt cut open. Minutes later, Trump was prevented from answering a question by more attendees shouting for medics. The ex-president asked for the facility’s doors to be opened, but said later they could not be left ajar due to security concerns — as he and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, the event’s emcee, speculated that inflation had made air conditioning too expensive for the facility’s operators. Trump outlined some, but not all, of his economic platform as he courted suburban voters in Pennsylvania’s third-most-populous Montgomery County, which he lost by large margins in both 2016 and 2020, as statewide polls show him neck-and-neck with Harris, 59. If he returns to the White House — “You’re going to buy that house, and you’re going to pay two and a half, 3% interest, and you’re going to say, ‘I love this guy,’” Trump told his first questioner, a military veteran who said his family was struggling to buy a home. Asked about grocery costs by a woman who said she was raised in a black and Democratic-voting union household in Philadelphia, Trump focused on record-high illegal immigration during Harris’ tenure as Biden’s point person on reducing migration along the southern border.

The French duo’s seventh album, Les Chants De L’Aurore, arrived after a period of writer’s block. It’s still blackgaze, but it’s surprisingly uplifting – and there’s a reason for that

Jennifer Garner Gets Bamboozled By A Hen In Hilarious Farm Video Outtake

Jennifer Garner is always a lot of fun. She seems to be the kind of person who loves to try new things and takes on almost any challenge with a smile and a can-do attitude. She recently celebrated National Farmers Day with a fun compilation of Jen doing farm duties.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jennifer Garner (@jennifer.garner) At first, she seems to be tooling around a toy tractor when a chicken suddenly attacks. “I don’t like this,” she says. Jennifer admits she doesn’t “have that much love for chickens, ” which makes her cough. Jen Garner Comes From A Farming Family She then shared a few pics of her family’s farm in Oklahoma. She purchased the land in 2017 and primarily uses it as a pumpkin farm, People reported. Jen’s been open about her family’s struggles as farmers and her support for those who help feed our country. Her father passed away in March, so Jen shared a sweet pic of the two of them in the fields, followed up by a photo of her parents together. She also took us for a spin on her tractor and captioned the video, “Farmers are the heart of our country, Happy #NationalFarmersDay! Love from your biggest fan, Farmer Jen.” Fans loved her video, and this one would love a Farmer Jen shirt. “I would buy a T-shirt with the Farmer Jen on her green tractor drawing! Let me know if this idea comes true.” The video made this fan’s day. “Okay this is the cutest thing I’ve seen all day and Farmer Pat is in there too!” This fan would love to see Jen as an author. “You need to write a book called “Farmer Jen”, for the kiddos. It would be great farming adventures.” “Celebrating our Certified Humane egg farmers, Farmer Jen, and every farmer around the country,” someone wrote. The Terrifying Truth About Those Apartment Buildings in Aurora

Author of The Widow in the Woods A while back, I wrote an article about migrant crime in the US being up. In it, I posted a video that showed an apartment building in Aurora, Colorado, that was being taken over by force by gang members. A couple of folks in the comments said it wasn’t happening. The local politicians said it wasn’t happening. The left-wing news said it wasn’t happening. But now, CBZ Management, the property management group that handles the buildings, has gone on the record on X to tell their story. Spoiler: It did, in fact, happen, exactly as reported here. If you don’t have it already, it might be time to grab a physical copy of my anthology from The OP, How to Survive During Dangerous Times. Here’s what CBZ had to say. Here is what the company managing the buildings had to say about what happened. Gangs have taken control of several of our properties in Aurora, Colorado. In an attempt to discredit this fact for political purposes and avoid governmental accountability, some have spread false information about our situation. Let’s set the record straight…   Gangs have taken control of several of our properties in Aurora, Colorado. At the time, the properties were in poor condition, and our mission was to renovate them, thereby increasing their value. This was an ambitious project that would significantly benefit the people of Aurora while providing returns to the new owners. We understood this project would take years to yield results and would be both time-consuming and costly, involving comprehensive upgrades to every unit and the overall structure. To manage the project effectively, given our New York-based operations, our representative moved to Colorado with his family. We also undertook a complete renovation of nearly every unit in the now well-known building you’ve seen in the news. (The images shown depict our newly renovated apartments.) Everything was progressing smoothly: property values were rising, and vacancy rates were dropping. It was a win-win for both the owners and the city of Aurora. Then, the gangs arrived…” The tweet included some photos of the apartments. We started managing these buildings when new owners acquired the Colorado properties in 2019. The most alarming moment occurred when our local CBZ representative was attacked at the end of 2023. He had gone to inspect a recently vacated three-bedroom apartment (a rare occurrence for such a large unit) only to find a group of men already inside. When he refused their $500 bribe to overlook the situation, they brutally attacked him. (This photo was taken shortly after he escaped, just before being admitted to the hospital. The video footage comes from one of our security cameras, capturing part of the assault.) After some time, we noticed a rise in crime and tenant complaints. We also frequently found people illegally occupying newly vacated apartments during scheduled tours. This was initially attributed to an influx of migrants exploiting squatter laws. We even received a call from a tenant returning from vacation, only to find strangers living in his apartment. This legitimate tenant was forced to find a new home after police couldn’t help him.   After the attack on our CBZ representative, he began getting threatening text messages. They were paying rent to a different entity. To address this entity (gangs) we contacted every city official we could think of for help with the problem. Unfortunately, none were willing to take meaningful action. Meanwhile, our CBZ representative continued receiving threatening messages, in which these criminals revealed his home address and his spouse’s name. Finally, the APD, FBI and Homeland Security informed us that those sending the messages and controlling our buildings were part of the notorious Tren De Aragua gang from Venezuela. They also mentioned that our situation was just “a blip on the radar,” as this gang is causing significant problems nationwide. Two days after our FBI meeting, the gang confronted our on-site manager, asserting control over all three properties. They offered an ultimatum: share rental income 50/50 or lose the buildings permanently. They also threatened to harm him and his family. For the safety of our management team and their families, we withdrew them from the properties and focused on seeking help from government agencies. That never happened. Instead, we were left helpless, watching as violence, bullets, and destruction overtook our buildings. Many of our legitimate tenants fled out of fear. Despite the obvious crisis, several city officials refused to acknowledge the reality. Instead, they blamed us, citing “code violations” as the reason for shutting down our property—violations we couldn’t resolve for tenants who weren’t even ours.     Once we fully understood what we—and our tenants—were facing, we expected a swift response, with the city offering meaningful resources and police protection—perhaps even from the National Guard—to help us regain control of our properties. Luckily, Cindy had her own cameras (most of ours had been destroyed by the gangs) and provided video proof to the councilwoman. She realized the city could no longer ignore the situation if it was documented on camera. Once she gathered sufficient video evidence, she assisted the tenant in relocating to safety before publicly releasing the footage.   Finally, one city councilwoman, @DaniJurinsky, decided to take action after one of our last remaining legitimate tenants, Cindy Romero, reached out to her in desperation. That’s why we are no longer staying silent. We will continue to counter falsehoods with simple facts and evidence. Yes, gangs did take control of our apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, and the government did nothing. That is the real story. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The situation has not been resolved. Despite clear evidence, many still deny the reality of the situation, sometimes using us as scapegoats. That’s why we are no longer staying silent. It’s just a handful of apartment buildings. In an interview with Martha Radditz of ABC News, she decided to “fact check” Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance. Then, she uttered words to Vance that she’s probably still having nightmares about. See the exchange below. What are your thoughts? Is it okay if it’s only a few properties being taken over by Venezuelan gangs? Is the company’s story, videos, and images enough to convince you that it’s truly happening? Verizon Denies Relationship With Leftist Group Despite Promoting Its Education Program After Black Lives Matter Riots

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Right after the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots in Minneapolis, Verizon promoted education materials from the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center that advocated for teaching Black Lives Matter in school. The company now denies any relationship with the SPLC. Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative Christian law firm that urges companies to respect viewpoint diversity through its Viewpoint Diversity Score program, highlighted a Verizon announcement from June 2020, in which the telecom company promoted the SPLC’s education arm, then called Teaching Tolerance. Verizon promoted a “panel discussion on race, equality, and justice,” and listed a variety of online resources as a “toolkit.” The “toolkit” included “tools for families to start a conversation” including “Teaching Tolerance” and The National Museum of African American History and Culture. (Verizon screenshot) What Is the SPLC’s Teaching Tolerance? The Southern Poverty Law Center promotes a bevy of leftist causes, from transgender orthodoxy to critical race theory to drag queen story hour to a path to citizenship for illegal aliens. Critical race theory refers to a lens by which educators tell white students they are inherently oppressors and black students they are inherently oppressed, and present America as institutionally racist. CRT often presents various aspects of Western culture—including the nuclear family, science, capitalism, and even a work ethic—as an oppressive “whiteness” that must be rejected. The “Talking About Race” page on the National Museum of African American History and Culture website (another Verizon “tool for families”), previously included an infographic explicitly making those connections. The museum later removed the infographic and apologized. CRT advocates call for overhauling American society, and some have justified looting, rioting, and burning down police stations in the name of racial justice. The SPLC also raises money by scaring donors, releasing a “hate map” that plots mainstream conservative and Christian groups (which oppose the SPLC’s agenda) alongside chapters of the Ku Klux Klan. The SPLC recently attacked the parental rights movement, placing organizations such as Moms for Liberty and Parents Defending Education on the “hate map.” A former employee called those “hate” accusations a “highly profitable scam,” and a defamation lawsuit challenging those claims cleared a major legal hurdle last year. The SPLC promotes its education-related causes through its education arm, long known as Teaching Tolerance. In 2021, the SPLC rebranded the program Learning for Justice. The program has long supported acceptance of racial diversity in schools, but it also supports divisive messages such as CRT, transgender orthodoxy, and political causes such as Black Lives Matter. The archived version of the Teaching Tolerance website from June 2, 2020, the date Verizon linked to it, showed the program urging educators to teach about the Black Lives Matter movement in school. (Teaching Tolerance archived website screenshot) At that time, while many Americans expressed outrage over the death of George Floyd in police custody, Black Lives Matter protests in Minneapolis had already descended into arson and looting. Many defended the arson and looting in the name of racial justice, using critical race theory to justify it. Last year, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr filed domestic terrorism charges against an SPLC lawyer who had been present at a riot in Atlanta involving Molotov cocktails. The SPLC claimed the lawyer had been a legal observer. Criticism for Verizon Alliance Defending Freedom, which flagged the Verizon materials for The Daily Signal, condemned the company for relying on the SPLC. “No one should be relying on the highly discredited Southern Poverty Law Center,” Michael Ross, a legal counsel at ADF, told The Daily Signal. “Verizon owes its customers, shareholders, and workforce an explanation for why they decided to partner with the SPLC. It also needs to assure them that it won’t partner with fringe political operatives like the SPLC going forward.” “The SPLC has spent decades shaming everyday Americans in its cynical fundraising scam that’s been denounced on both sides of the political aisle,” Ross added. The SPLC has branded ADF an “anti-LGBTQ Hate Group” since 2016, but even ADF’s ideological opponents—notably Military Religious Freedom Foundation founder and President Mikey Weinstein and former American Civil Liberties Union President Nadine Strossen—have repeatedly condemned SPLC’s attack on ADF. “The SPLC keeps itself busy by maligning people like Dr. Ben Carson and Franklin Graham, and moms and dads who speak up at school board meetings; and by participating in anti-police violence,” Ross said. “The SPLC’s bigoted agitprop doesn’t belong anywhere near the very school-aged children whose parents it publicly targets.” Verizon’s Response Verizon distanced itself from the SPLC, and denied suggestions that it might load Learning for Justice materials onto devices for educators or students. “Verizon has no affiliation [with], nor does it work with, the Southern Poverty Law Center,” Verizon spokeswoman Tessa Giammona told The Daily Signal in an email Wednesday. “In addition, the Company does not load Learning for Justice materials onto educator or student devices.” Giammona did not respond to questions about why the company promoted Learning for Justice in 2020.
