‘The hand of God was over Tampa’: The legacy of Lieutenant Dan

Florida man Joe Malinowski, known as “Lieutenant Dan,” became a social media sensation overnight for his decision to ride out Hurricane Milton on his 22-foot sailboat despite warnings for all residents of Tampa to evacuate. While the mayor had threatened to arrest Malinowski, he rode out the storm in his boat — just as he did during Hurricane Helene — and he's now become a symbol of defiance. “We have tried so many times with that individual to get him off of that boat, and the officers will eventually just take him into custody, and for his own good, because he’s not to survive in a sailboat in the bay with anywhere from eight to 12 feet of storm surge,” the mayor said. The mayor had also stated in a previous interview that anyone who stays would die, which turned out not to be the case. The man remained defiant despite threats and told cameras “that the safest place to be is on a boat in a flood,” while rolling his eyes. “We learned that with Noah. Everybody that stayed on land drowned. Noah and the animals live,” he added. Malinowski, who is missing his lower left leg, live-streamed his experience and insisted that he had no issues during the storm. As the sun rose over Tampa, he celebrated his survival, stating that “The hand of God was over Tampa.” Pat Gray of “Pat Gray Unleashed” never saw an issue with Lieutenant Dan’s refusal to leave. “It’s his choice. He’s an adult. He’s an American,” Gray says. Trump says Joe Rogan interview will happen: 'I'm doing it'

President Donald Trump suggested on the Monday episode of the "Full Send Podcast" that he would soon appear on "The Joe Rogan Experience" to speak with the titular host. While the Republican has appeared on a number of popular podcasts in recent weeks, a sit-down with Rogan would undoubtedly help maximize his reach. Rogan's show is in the top three podcasts on Spotify, which is the top U.S. podcast network, and Rogan's show boasts over 17.4 million subscribers on YouTube. "Full Send Podcast" host Kyle Forgeard said to Trump, "You're doing a lot of podcasts recently. One that I would love to see you on is — I think Joe Rogan has to have you on." Forgeard then asked, "Would you do that?" "Oh, sure I would," said Trump. "I mean I think I'm doing it, actually." Forgeard pressed the Republican for clarification, "So you are going to do Joe Rogan?" "Yeah, I am," said Trump. After Forgeard suggested that Rogan's massive popularity is the result, in part, of his illumination of corruption during the pandemic, Trump noted that Rogan is a "good guy" with a "good voice." The Daily Beast indicated that neither the Trump campaign nor a Rogan representative responded immediately to its requests for comment. While there has not been an official response from Rogan or his team, the Joe Rogan Podcast account posed the question Saturday, "Do you want to see @realDonaldTrump on the podcast?" At the time of publication, the post had received over 480,000 likes and the comments were overwhelmingly supportive. Days prior to the poll, Elon Musk said definitively, "It will happen." The Joe Rogan Podcast X account subsequently shared an article referring to Trump's possible appearance on the show. Rogan has long downplayed the possibility of having President Donald Trump on his podcast. He told Lex Fridman in July 2022, for instance, "I'm not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I've had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once; I've said no every time." 'It would be interesting to hear his perspective on a lot of things.' "I think you'll have him on," responded Fridman, citing Kanye West as an example of a guest Rogan had a good conversation with despite possible earlier skepticism. Rogan said, "Yeah, but Kanye's an artist. Kanye doing well or not doing well doesn't change the course of our country." Rogan, who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in 2020 and signaled he would back Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) were he to go the distance in 2024, has sporadically defended Trump in the time since while also softening his position about not doing an interview. Patrick Bet-David pressed the issue last year, asking if it might happen. Rogan told the entrepreneur, "Maybe. Maybe." "It would be interesting to hear his perspective on a lot of things," Rogan told Bet-David. "I would like to know: What is it like when you actually get into office? I would like to know things like what is like versus perception. What is it actually like when you get in that building? ... When do you know that people are f***ing with you? When do you know that the intelligence agency's lying to you?" In a September interview with Fridman, Trump indicated that he was unaware there was "any tension" between Rogan and himself, noting, "I've always liked him, but I don't know him." "I only see him when I walk into the arena with Dana [White], and I shake his hand," said Trump. "I see him there, and I think he's good at what he does, but I don't know about doing his podcast. I guess I'd do it, but I haven't been asked, and I'm not asking them. I'm not asking anybody." Trump characterized Rogan as a "liberal guy, I guess," but alluded to possible common ground. "He likes [Robert F.] Kennedy," said Trump. "Bobby's going to be great. But I like that he likes Kennedy." Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed Trump on Aug. 23, indicating that in a second Trump administration, he would have the opportunity to help "Make America Healthy Again." Like Blaze News? Violent felon accused of fatally shooting off-duty corrections officer who intervened after suspect allegedly beat female

A felon with a violent criminal history is accused of fatally shooting an off-duty corrections officer who intervened when the suspect allegedly was beating a woman at a Florida truck stop early Saturday morning. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 29-year-old Demaurea Grant at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at a home in Gastonia, North Carolina, and is pending extradition to Jacksonville, the Florida Times-Union reported, citing Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters' announcement during a news conference.Grant is charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a firearm, and discharging a firearm in public.Grant is accused of killing Officer Bradley McNew, a sheriff's office corrections officer and 24-year veteran of the department, the Times-Union said. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a male and female were involved in a violent dispute around 1:20 a.m. in the 12900 block of Duval Road. You can view surveillance video of the incident here. The suspect was observed exiting a black Mustang, placing a black handgun on the hood, removing the female from the driver’s seat, and then battering the female, throwing her against the vehicle and the ground.Off-duty Corrections Officer Bradley McNew had just finished his shift, heard the disturbance, and went to check on the female victim, the sheriff's office said. The suspect approached McNew, said it was a family matter, re-engaged with the female, and then pointed the gun in Officer McNew’s direction, the sheriff's office said. The suspect and female returned to the vehicle, and as they were leaving the scene, the suspect was observed hanging out of the window, firing the handgun, and striking Officer McNew, the sheriff's office said, adding that he was taken to a hospital where he died. The Times-Union said McNew was in plain clothes at the time. The sheriff's office noted that the Mustang had a North Carolina license plate of RHL-4285. Sheriff Waters said the U.S. Marshals took Grant ― a felon with a violent criminal history ― into custody without incident, the Times-Union said, adding that tips from citizens as well as the investigation by detectives from the Sheriff's Office, the Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, and the State Attorney's Office led to his arrest.Grant is charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a firearm, and discharging a firearm in public, Waters said, according to the paper. The sheriff added that a female who was with Grant was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant regarding a North Carolina crime, the Times-Union said, adding that the sheriff's office didn't release her name or say what her relationship, if any, might be to Grant.Like Blaze News? Trump supporter arrested at Coachella rally blasts 'corrupt,' anti-MAGA cop who cuffed him

The man arrested outside a Trump rally in Coachella, California, on Saturday issued a lengthy video statement denying that he posed any danger to former President Donald Trump or any rally attendees and claiming instead that he has been a victim of "corrupt officials operating under the color of law."On Sunday, news spread on social media that a possible third assassination attempt on Trump had been thwarted after officers and deputies in Riverside County arrested Vem Miller, a 49-year-old Las Vegas resident, at a checkpoint about a half-mile from the event.'There isn't a universe his intention was to kill Trump, he's worked too hard in this movement to expose the Deep State and all the people against him.'According to reports, Miller had in his possession two loaded firearms — a shotgun and handgun — as well as multiple phony passes, including a press pass and a VIP rally pass."We probably stopped another assassination attempt," Sheriff Chad Bianco told reporters.Miller was charged with possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine and released on $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court again in January.Rather than wait for his day in court, however, Miller took to Rumble and posted a 75-minute video statement refuting the accusations against him and instead insisting that the arresting officer targeted him for his political views. In the video, Miller claims he voluntarily notified officers at the security checkpoint about the firearms in his vehicle "as a courtesy.""I told him that, in full transparency, 'I just wanted to let you know that in the back of my truck, I got, you know, two lawful firearms, purchased lawfully, registered lawfully, and I'm just letting you know that that's back there," Miller recalled.Miller claimed he purchased the guns after receiving death threats but added that he has never fired either of them, even at the gun range. "Frankly, I am ... like a kindergarten student when it comes to guns," he explained. "I just have never shot a gun."Furthermore, Miller claimed that, rather than phony passes, he had been issued "a special invite" to the Coachella rally as a Trump caucus captain and Trump team leader in Nevada. "I had a special entry pass directed to me, sent directly to me by officials within the Republican Party of Nevada," he insisted. "I was an actual invitee to that event."Miller spent much of the video calling out the arresting officer for alleged misconduct and maltreatment. Miller said he overheard the officer, whom he did not name, calling him "a MAGAt and one of those Donald Trump people.""At this point, it becomes very clear that this arresting officer's role was to make an example of a Trump supporter, was to persecute a Trump supporter, having nothing to do with the law," Miller continued.Sheriff Bianco later described Miller as "a lunatic."According to Miller, the "incredibly corrupt police officer" and his colleagues:left him roasting in the back of a police cruiser for at least an hour without access to medicinal supplements necessary to regulate his blood sugar;took him to jail even after Secret Service and FBI agents declined to interview him; denied him the opportunity to make a phone call as required by law; placed him in a holding cell with dangerous suspects such as an "MS-13 type of gangster guy" and someone who appeared to be a "mentally ill individual"; and then when speaking to the press later,"they literally created hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of liability slandering my name as a potential assassin."He claimed that email documentation as well as police footage would corroborate his version of events. He likewise pledged to file a "major lawsuit" "to bring a lot of attention to corrupt officials operating under the color of law."For its part, the Trump campaign seemed to downplay any threat Miller may have posed. "Sources close to" the campaign reportedly told Bill Melugin of Fox News that "there was no assassination attempt against Trump" at the Coachella rally. "We’re told a man with a gun was arrested at the perimeter of the event without incident," Melugin tweeted on Sunday afternoon. The Secret Service made no mention of a possible assassination attempt in its statement following Miller's arrest: "The incident did not impact protective operations. The Secret Service extends its gratitude to the deputies and local partners who assisted in safeguarding last night’s events."Mindy Robinson, whom Miller described as his "business partner," rose to Miller's defense, posting to X on Sunday:There isn't a universe his intention was to kill Trump, he's worked too hard in this movement to expose the Deep State and all the people against him. If he had guns in his car that were illegal, whooptie-f***ing do. As a pro-2A advocate, ask me if I give a s*** about a good guy with a gun in an unsafe s***hole like California. ...I stand by Vem Miller....and I will get to the bottom of this bulls***. Watch me.Blaze News made several calls to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office for comment during regular business hours on Monday but repeatedly received a recorded message stating the office was closed.Like Blaze News? JD Vance embarrasses ABC News anchor for downplaying migrant gang crime to slam Trump — and he gets her to make big admission

Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance was left dumbfounded this weekend when ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz minimized the impact of Venezuelan gangs in Colorado. An apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, became the center of national controversy in August after a viral video showed heavily armed men storming through the property. Locals complained that members of the violent Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua had taken control of the property. City leaders, meanwhile, have denied that any part of Aurora has been take over. However, at least one person seen in the viral video at the apartment complex has reportedly admitted to being connected to Tren de Aragua. The city, indeed, has an ongoing problem with the gang. 'Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem and not Kamala Harris' open border?!' On Sunday, Raddatz demanded that Vance answer for Donald Trump's remarks about the situation. Trump, according to Raddatz, claims Aurora has "been invaded and conquered by Venezuelan gangs." But, the ABC News host added, Aurora's mayor has denied Trump's assertion. "Do you support Donald Trump making those claims that the Republican mayor says were grossly exaggerated and have hurt the city's identity and sense of safety?" Raddatz asked Vance. At first, Vance responded with kid gloves, hinting at his frustration with the question. "Martha, you just said the mayor said they were exaggerated. That means there's got to be some element of truth here," he pointed out. "Of course, President Trump was actually in Aurora, Colorado, talking to people on the ground, and what we're hearing, of course, Martha, is that people are terrified by what has happened with some of these Venezuelan gangs." But instead of listening to the issues Vance raised, Raddatz claimed that she knows the truth of what is happening on the ground in Aurora. "Sen. Vance, I'm going to stop you, because I know exactly what happened. I’m going to stop you," Raddatz boasted. "The incidents were limited to a handful of apartment complexes, and the mayor said our dedicated police officers have acted on those concerns. A handful of problems." In response, Vance called out Raddatz for downplaying the problems in Aurora. "Only?! Martha, do you hear yourself?!" Vance shot back. "Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem and not Kamala Harris' open border?! "Americans are so fed up with what's going on, and they have every right to be. And I really find this exchange, Martha, sort of interesting because you seem to be more focused with nitpicking everything that Donald Trump has said rather than acknowledging that apartment complexes in the United States of America are being taken over by violent gangs," he continued.Raddatz, unfortunately, did not offer a substantive response to Vance. Instead, she simply doubled down."Let's just end that with they did not invade or take over the city as Donald Trump said," the host said."A few apartment complexes, no big deal," Vance snarked.
