Hall of Famer Randy Moss will take an extended leave from his analyst role on “Sunday NFL Countdown” after he revealed that he’s dealing with some kind of health battle. “Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss will step away from ‘Sunday NFL Countdown’ for an extended time to focus on a personal health challenge,” a statement from ESPN on Friday read. “He [Moss] briefly addressed the matter at the start of the show on Dec. 1,” it added. “For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating Countdown with his insight and passion. Authorities believe they have recovered the backpack belonging to the assassin who gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City, CNN reported Friday evening. The assassin, wearing a dark hoodie and “distinct” gray backpack when he killed Thompson, fled the scene on foot before getting on a bike, which he rode into Central Park. Authorities said the suspect was seen leaving the park without his backpack, and police recovered a backpack between “some boulders just south of the Central Park Carousel,” CNN’s John Miller reported. The backpack was then taken to the NYPD’s crime lab where its contents will be searched and potentially analyzed for DNA evidence. Police still have not identified the suspect. CNN reported that NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Friday that investigators have “reason to believe” a “person of interest” in connection to the assassination fled New York City. Kenny said that the suspect arrived in Manhattan in a Greyhound bus from Atlanta on November 24, according to the Associated Press. “From every indication we have from witnesses, from the Starbucks, from the hostel, he kept his mask on at all times except for the one instance where we have him photographed with the mask off,” added Kenny. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Friday morning that authorities are “on the right track” to find the assassin and bring him “to justice.” Shell casings recovered by detectives from the scene had the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose” written on them. Video of the assassination showed that the assassin appeared to be using a handgun with a silencer, and the killer seemed proficient in handling firearms. Thompson’s company UnitedHealthcare has been criticized for rejecting patients’ insurance claims. UnitedHealthcare is a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest companies in the world.

Democrats and other pestilential nudniks are still trying to solve the impenetrable mystery of how their presidential candidate lost to someone as horrible as they pretended Donald Trump was. Chairman of the Democrat National Committee Vladimir Jihad recently discussed the issue on a Zoom call with a group of masked rioters and financial con men called Black Lives Matter Unless They Don’t. Mr. Jihad, who usually identifies as a woman except at this time of month when he feels the cramps just aren’t worth it, told the group, “Like many of you, I’ve been trying to unravel the puzzling riddle of how anyone could reject the Democrat party. After weeks of reflection, I began to wonder if it was because we burned down cities, mismanaged wars, mutilated children and allowed criminals to pour across our borders, but then I thought, Nah, it must be the fault of the voters. Sure, there was terrible inflation, higher crime and more global threats, but that was just in real life. On the news, everything was great! The problem was that instead of getting the facts from trusted sources like NBC and the New York Times, voters were swamped with misinformation from social media, and their wallets, and the sad, hungry faces of their children, and their own eyes. We have to work harder to keep that misinformation from spreading by repeatedly calling people racist until they’re intimidated into silence. “For every American who is discouraged about the American present and the American future, whatever the reason for that is, it’s time to saddle up, because we’re going to take our country back,” Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts promises.  Roberts made that vow in a discussion with Joshua Treviño, chief transformation officer at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, on this week’s episode of “The Kevin Roberts Show” podcast. Roberts, who previously served as chief executive officer of the TPPF, discussed his new book, “Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America.”  For starters, Roberts contended we don’t have a genuine free market in this country. “You only have a free market, for example, if you have good families, a stable society, and a government that reflects those virtues,” he said. “And we don’t have a free market in America today.” Instead, it’s “an utter collusion” between Big Government and Big Business, replete with corporate welfare.  That segued into a discussion of a differentiation between conservatism and libertarianism. “The philosophical shortcoming of American libertarianism is that it’s about the material and it’s about the freedom to do whatever the heck you want,” Roberts said. “The good news is you hit a triple,” he added, drawing an analogy to baseball. “And we’re going to get you home. And home is conservatism, properly understood, with gratitude at the top, which then can be gratitude for both material and nonmaterial things.”  One of the foundational tenets of conservatism is a certain communitarian nature, Roberts said.  “Communitarian in the sense that, before we care about who we’re voting for, we care about one another, we care about our neighbors, we care about community,” he asserted.  The way to undermine the power of Washington is by emphasizing the power of our local communities, the Heritage Foundation chief said.   Roberts later said that if Americans continue to let education in this country deteriorate, all of the policy work will be useless.  “Once we secure that delivery vehicle of universal school choice, we need to make sure that we are regenerating the intellectual tradition that founded this country, because if you don’t do that, you will never understand liberty the way our Founders did,” he said, adding: “You will never understand order the way our Founders did. And it doesn’t require you to subscribe to one religious faith or another. A cat couldn't contain her joy when she was finally taken out of the shelter with her four lookalike kittens. Bianca and her kittensHeidiA cat and her four newborns found themselves at an animal shelter, where the conditions were far from ideal for raising kittens.She was incredibly friendly, greeting every visitor, hoping that someone would take her little family home. When Heidi Shoemaker, founder of Foster Kitten Mama, learned about them, she jumped at the chance to help."Out of over 600 fosters, I've never had a cat with two clear, different-colored eyes (heterochromia)," Heidi shared. HeidiThe mom cat, Bianca, arrived with four "snowflake" kittens, each with a charming little "haircut." They were about one week old when they came into foster care, and some were just starting to open their eyes.After a quick tour of her new surroundings, Bianca settled by her food bowl and began to dig in while Heidi moved the kittens into their new nest. HeidiOverjoyed in her cozy room, she purred loudly as her foster mom cleaned and treated her watery eye.After filling her belly, she lay down with her kittens nestled beside her, feeling content and secure. "I'm so happy she and her littles are here safe and sound." HeidiThe kittens were bursting with energy and had a strong will to live. Even at a young age, they waved their little paws around, vying for the best spot to nurse. "Bianca's babies are very spirited. They are so scrappy."The kittens, with their snowy white coats, closely resemble their mom, except for their adorable "haircuts." One of them sports a different color. AngelinaHeidiAngelina has darker markings on the top of her head, making her stand out among the rest. Despite being the only girl in the litter, she holds her own with her feisty spirit whenever she wrestles with the boys.She was the first to scream for food and attention, clambering over her brothers and even trying to scale the pen. HeidiWhenever Heidi picked up a kitten, she insisted on being next and wouldn't take no for an answer.The kittens soon outgrew their nest, eager for new adventures. With more space to scamper around, they began honing their feline skills and took an interest in their food bowls. HeidiMama Bianca kept a watchful eye on them, making sure they didn't wander too far or get into trouble.Angelina was brave and independent, mastering the litter box on her own, even as her mischievous brother tried to get in her way. At four weeks old, they were finding their footing, mimicking their mom, and getting more boisterous each day. HeidiBianca continues to be the model mother, keeping her kittens impeccably clean, even when all four of them swarm her at once. With the patience of a saint, she dotes on them with unconditional love."I love the way they all gather around her. They are such a happy and playful bunch." HeidiBianca is usually calm and relaxed, but she goes wild for treats. With her kittens weaned and bouncing with energy, she continues caring for them, catering to their every whim.When she finishes raising her last litter, she will be able to focus on herself and become the one who gets spoiled and adored.
