Toledo, Ohio, was the place to be when two very vibrant and beautiful twins celebrated their 102nd birthdays together! Born in 1922 and raised in Toledo's Old West End, the "Johnson twins" just celebrated their milestone birthday on September 15 in the Toledo suburb of Sylvania. Guests traveled from as far as Texas to commemorate the special day with twins Marilyn Wright and Madelyn Casper. We just thought we have to really celebrate this one big time." Marilyn and Madelyn have always been close. Between the two of them, they have 13 children! And, while they must have kept very busy growing and raising their large families, they've made time for each other. Madelyn says they are like "two peas in a pod." Even when they haven't lived in the same city, they've been on the same page-thinking and doing like one another. Marilyn shared an example, "[I would get] on the phone, I say, ‘Madelyn, I just made a meatloaf. I wish you could be here.' She says, ‘I made one too.'" On one occasion, the two unknowingly bought the same fabric to make curtains for their sons. The Two Sisters Bond Over the Most Basic and Magnificent Things Sisters bond over the most basic and magnificent things, and, quite likely, even more so when those sisters are twins. Moming, meatloaf, and a million other things have connected these special ladies, who continue to work together. Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Casper used to talk on the phone until Madelyn "couldn’t hear." These days, according to Marilyn, she is Madelyn's ears, and Marilyn is her eyes! At 102, the centenarians are healthy and going strong. Marilyn's daughter, Julie Fox, told WTVG, "We feel very blessed to still have both of them with us, and they’re both still in pretty good health, too — physical health, not only mental." Just show kindness. Don’t hate. The word hate should be out of the dictionary," said Marilyn. It sounds like the Toledo twins will be spreading joy and light until their last days, and those may be many days away!
