Ron DeSantis To Attend Army-Navy Football Game With President Trump Amid Defense Secretary Rumors

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will attend the annual Army-Navy football game with President Trump amid rumors he may be a backup pick for defense secretary. Multiple GOP senators have signaled resistance to confirming the nomination of Pete Hegseth to lead the Pentagon. Trump has stood firm behind Hegseth, saying he’s “doing very well.” “Pete Hegseth is doing very well. His support is strong and deep, much more so than the Fake News would have you believe. He was a great student – Princeton/Harvard educated – with a Military state of mind,” Trump said on Truth Social. “He will be a fantastic, high energy, Secretary of Defense Defense, one who leads with charisma and skill. Pete is a WINNER, and there is nothing that can be done to change that!!!” he added. ( @realDonaldTrump – Truth Social Post )( Donald J. Trump TRUTH POSTS (@TruthTrumpPosts) December 6, 2024 Prior reports stated that Trump spoke with DeSantis about the job. The Florida governor reportedly expressed interest in the position. President Trump Reportedly Meets With Ron DeSantis About Defense Secretary Position As Multiple GOP Senators Signal Resistance Against Confirming Hegseth Fox News reports: DeSantis, a popular conservative governor and a Navy veteran who served in the Iraq War, waged a bitter battle last year and early this year with Trump during a very combative and divisive GOP presidential nomination race. But the two Republican heavyweights seemed to make peace after the primaries, and DeSantis helped raise funds for Trump during the general election. DeSantis, who was re-elected in a landslide in 2022 but is term-limited and cannot run for re-election in 2026, is "very much" in contention to replace Hegseth, multiple sources told Fox News. Another source told Fox News' chief political anchor and "Special Report" host Bret Baier that it was the president-elect himself who floated the governor's name, and that Trump and DeSantis discussed the idea as they met Tuesday while appearing together in Florida at a memorial service for fallen law enforcement officers in Palm Beach County. Ron DeSantis is set to attend the upcoming Army-Navy game along with President-elect Donald Trump, a source familiar with planning confirmed to Florida’s Voice. The Army-Navy game will be held Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. in Washington, D.C. DeSantis, a U.S. Navy veteran, received a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service and the Iraq Campaign Medal.

First-Ever ‘Climate Change’ Arrest Made By Biden Administration

First-Ever ‘Climate Change’ Arrest Made By Biden Administration

The Biden administration set a dangerous new precedent by making the first-ever arrest for a so-called ‘climate change-related crime.’ With bolstered enforcement measures for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), including 300 new employees since last year, the agency has rapidly increased issuing financial penalties. According to Fox News, the EPA “reported issuing $1.7 billion in administrative and judicial penalties.” The enhanced enforcement efforts led to the arrest of a California man for allegedly “smuggling climate-damaging air coolants into the United States,” the Associated Press noted. Biden EPA makes first-ever climate change arrest https://t.co/WoiRUYYOYR — Fox News Politics (@foxnewspolitics) December 6, 2024 From the Associated Press: The case involved hydrofluorocarbons, a highly potent greenhouse gas also known as HFCs, a gas once commonly used in refrigerators and air conditioners. A 2020 law passed by Congress prohibits importation of HFCs without allowances issued by the EPA. The law is part of a global phaseout designed to slow climate change. Uhlmann called enforcement of the HFC law a high priority for the United States and the world. “Alongside methane, HFCs are one of the most significant near-term drivers of climate change. And the criminal program is front and center there,’’ he said. In other highlights, engine maker Cummins Inc. paid more than $2 billion in fines and penalties — and agreed to recall 600,000 Ram trucks — as part of a settlement with federal and California authorities. Cummins was found to use illegal software that let Ram trucks — manufactured by Stellantis — to skirt diesel emissions tests for nearly a decade. The fine is the largest ever secured under the federal Clean Air Act. EPA hails 'revitalized' enforcement efforts as Biden administration heads to exit. As of the end of 2024, there are about 480 open criminal investigations on environmental programs. The results reflect a 3.4% increase in civil cases and a 17.6% increase in criminal charges compared to 2023, The Associated Press reported. In the FY 2024 report, the EPA also noted that collaborative efforts on the “implementation of EPA’s national priorities” led to a “12% increase in criminal leads opened because of referrals from EPA Headquarters and regional offices.” “In Fiscal Year 2024, EPA’s enforcement and compliance assurance program produced its strongest results since 2017, focusing on efforts to combat climate change and tackling some of the nation’s most significant environmental threats to our shared air, water and land,” David M. Uhlmann, assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, said in a statement. “The progress made under the Biden-Harris Administration has sent a clear signal that polluters will be held accountable and that protecting communities from harm is a top priority.” The agency zeroed in on six areas of priority for FY 2024 as part of their National Enforcement and Compliance Initiative: mitigating climate change, exposure to PFAS, working against communities from coal ash contamination, reducing air toxics in overburdened communities, increasing compliance with drinking water standards and chemical accident risk reduction.

Sec. of Defense Hopeful Joni Ernst Advocates for Woke Transism

Senator Joni Ernst has publicly supported the inclusion of transgender individuals in the U.S. military, citing the need for “transgender talent.” You can’t make this stuff up! She’s the opposite of the agenda. Nothing against transgenders, but the ideology is intended to promote Wokeism in the military. Trump wants a strong fighting force. Jeff Bezos: I’m ‘Super Optimistic’ About What Trump Is Going To Do For U.S.

Jeff Bezos said during an interview this week that he was excited about what President-elect Donald Trump’s second term in office means for the economy and he looks forward to helping him. Bezos made the remarks during the annual New York Times DealBook Summit on Wednesday in New York City. “I’m actually very optimistic this time around,” Bezos said. “He seems to have a lot of energy around reducing regulation. And my point of view, if I can help him do that, I’m going to help him because we do have too much regulation in this country. This country is so set up to grow.” “By the way, all of our problems, all of our economic problems, like if you look at the deficit and the national debt, and how gigantic it is as a portion of GDP — these are real problems, and they’re real long-term problems — and the way you get out of them is by outgrowing them,” he continued. “You’re going to solve the problem of the national debt by making it a smaller percentage of GDP, not by shrinking the national debt, but by growing the GDP. You have to grow the denominator. That means you have to grow GDP at 3%, 4%, 5% a year, and let the national debt grow slower than that. If you can do that, this is a very manageable problem.” Bezos said the U.S. needs “a growth orientation” and a “growth mindset” to remain on top. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “We are the luckiest country in the world,” he said. “We have all these natural resources, including energy independence. We have the best risk capital system in the world, by far.” Bezos said that America’s dominance in risk capital attracts big companies, investment, and entrepreneurial success to the U.S. “It’s not the banking system. We have a good banking system, but so does Europe,” he said. “What’s different here is that you can raise $50 million of seed capital to do something that only has a 10% chance of working. That’s crazy, but the people who are giving you that seed capital know that their expected value is still positive, in many cases — or they’re at least gambling that that’s true. That risk capital system we have in this country is turning out to be very hard for other countries to duplicate.” He added again on the subject that he was “super optimistic” about what Trump could do for deregulation. Bezos said that Trump has grown over the last eight years and believes he is now “calmer” and “more confident and more settled.” WATCH: NEW: Jeff Bezos says he’s ‘very optimistic’ about the incoming Trump administration, offering to help streamline regulations and dismissing concerns about Elon Musk leveraging government power against competitors. “I’m actually very optimistic this time around.
