Trump DOJ Could Crack Down On DEI-Fueled Discrimination Against Whites And Asians

Under President Donald Trump, the Department of Justice could stop corporations from implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion policies that disadvantage white and Asian applicants. As The Daily Wire has reported, companies across industries appear to have discriminated against white and Asian individuals through their DEI programs, which prioritize hiring and promoting black applicants and other “underrepresented racial minorities.” David Pivtorak, a lawyer who has active cases against American Express for alleged racial discrimination against white employees, told The Daily Wire that the Trump Justice Department will have a wide range of tools at its disposal to combat DEI discrimination. “The DOJ has a panoply of remedies it can seek to address the discrimination that results from these DEI programs,” Pivtorak said. The department’s Civil Rights Division, for instance, “can initiate investigations” to obtain “a wide variety of a company’s internal data and documents,” or file lawsuits to take “depositions of high-level executives and even the CEO or Board of Directors if they were directly involved in implementing these DEI programs.” The Justice Department could also go further, issuing a “consent decree,” which would let the department “oversee a company’s operations for years to come.” Such a move — which “has an extreme coercive effect” — could push companies to abandon DEI programs outright, Pivtorak says. “From a cost-benefit perspective, companies may decide that the hassle of maintaining DEI is just not worth it, especially since these are not profitable endeavors but are mostly there to keep a small contingent of vocal activists satisfied.” Reporting in the lead-up to the presidential election indicated that Trump’s allies could apply laws from the Civil Rights era to cases of “anti-white racism,” in which DEI programs utilize racially discriminatory criteria. Stephen Miller, whose America First Legal filed a successful suit against a $29 billion pandemic relief program that was found to have discriminated against white male business owners, will be at the forefront of these efforts as Trump’s deputy chief of staff for policy. Should the Trump Justice Department decide to prosecute companies that engage in discriminatory practices, it would have no shortage of programs to investigate. At Oracle, for example, whites and Asians were ineligible for two career advancement programs reserved for “African American/Black, American Indian – Alaska Native, Hispanic American” applicants. IBM hosted two internship opportunities, including one that barred white and Asian applicants and another that barred male applicants — unless those men identified as women. The company’s “internship for underrepresented minorities” said that “applicants must be underrepresented minorities” and listed the approved racial backgrounds of “African American, Hispanic, or Indigenous.” The “internship for undergraduate women” required that applicants be female, but caveated that “all students who present or identify as women and/or trans women,” were also eligible. David Bernstein, a professor at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, told The Daily Wire that the programs “clearly violate Title VII,” which “does not allow for race or sex-based preferences for employment except perhaps as part of bona fide affirmative action programs initiated to redress past discriminatory policies.” Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey sued IBM over other acts of alleged discrimination against white and Asian job applicants. Microsoft boasted in a report that it paid non-white employees slightly more than white employees, even when they had the same job titles. And Apple’s entrepreneur camp development program, where founders could receive “one-on-one code-level guidance from Apple engineers,” required companies to have personnel from certain demographic backgrounds in certain roles. Apple’s underrepresented founders program required companies to have “a black, Hispanic/Latinx, or Indigenous founder, cofounder, or CEO” as well as a “black, Hispanic/Latinx, Indigenous, or female developer.” There’s also NASCAR’s diversity internship program, which Bernstein called “blatantly illegal” because it barred white people from applying. NASCAR amended its internship program and removed the racial requirements in the wake of The Daily Wire investigation. Robert Kraft’s company, best known for owning the New England Patriots, appeared to engage in anti-white discrimination when it advertised a job posting that listed “BIPOC,” a term that means “black, indigenous, people of color,” as a job qualification. “The goal of this program is to diversify the future of the sports and entertainment management industry by providing opportunity and access to BIPOC candidates connected to the New England community,” the job posting said. Voya Financial was equally brazen when it barred white students from its Financial Services Diversity Scholars Program. Applicants for the now-defunct program were only eligible if they self-identified as “Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; American Indian or Alaska Native American; Asian; Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander; or multi-racial.” Voya Financial is just one entity among a long list of banking and financial institutions that implemented discriminatory DEI programs. One Daily Wire investigation revealed that several of the most prominent banks in America advertised racially discriminatory DEI programs. A Morgan Stanley summer training program was limited to “historically underrepresented populations.” The eligibility criteria explained that the term referred to “women, Hispanic, Black, veteran, disabled, LGBTQ+, and first-generation college student populations.” J.P. Morgan’s now discontinued “launching leaders undergraduate program” was only open to “Black, Hispanic and Native American sophomores and juniors from all majors who are interested in financial services and have a 3.5 GPA minimum,” while a Wells Fargo fellowship was limited to “underrepresented candidates,” including “female, Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Native American/Alaskan Native and LGBTQIA+ students, as well as protected veterans and people with disabilities.” U.S. Bank’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy Manager Astrid Benedetto celebrated a career advancement program from McKinsey and Company that appeared to discriminate against white professionals, The Daily Wire also revealed. The consulting giant hosted race-specific professional development programs, respectively titled the “Black Leadership Academy,” the “Hispanic and Latino Leadership Academy,” and the “Asian Leadership Academy.”

WaPo Torched For Dismissing Pete Hegseth’s 2 Bronze Stars As ‘Common,’ ‘Participation Trophy’

WaPo Torched For Dismissing Pete Hegseth’s 2 Bronze Stars As ‘Common,’ ‘Participation Trophy’

The Washington Post took a virtual beating on Friday after publishing an article declaring that the two Bronze Star medals awarded to Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Pentagon, were less than because they were awarded for “Meritorious Service” rather than for “Valor.” In the article, military reporter Alex Horton argued that Bronze Stars “were issued somewhat liberally throughout the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan” and suggested that because Hegseth was an officer rather than enlisted, the award — which he said had been compared to a “participation trophy” — had even less comparative value. “While many officers have risked their lives on the battlefield, the majority of fighting and exposure to danger is performed by the enlisted troops they command,” Horton wrote. The next sentence refuted most of the article’s claim, however. After five paragraphs effectively — and thoroughly — disparaging Hegseth’s Bronze Stars as though they were far from proof that he had distinguished himself as a combat veteran, Horton wrote the following: “Hegseth also received a Combat Infantryman Badge, which is awarded when infantry soldiers and officers engage an enemy in combat.” In order to receive the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), soldiers must meet ALL of the following criteria: Be an infantry Soldier satisfactorily performing infantry duties. Be assigned to an infantry unit during such time as the unit is engaged in active ground combat. Actively participate in such ground combat. Campaign or battle credit alone is not sufficient for award of the CIB. In order to earn the CIB, Hegseth had to not only be assigned to the unit that participated in direct armed conflict, he had to be an active participant in such combat action. Horton’s willingness to write off Hegseth’s “Meritorious Service” Bronze Stars as trivial while only including his CIB as an aside suggests an agenda that many on X picked up on. Clip Shows Entire Pool Shaking During Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake In Northern California

Yesterday, over 4 million people near the California-Oregon state line were in for quite a scare. First, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake took place around 10:44 a.m. PT, making it the area’s strongest since 2005. Back then, they experienced a 7.2 earthquake. This moment alone was anxiety-inducing, but it’s what happened after that sent many residents into a bit of a panic. That’s because it triggered a Tsunami Warning in parts of California and Oregon. As a result, lots of people were informed to get to higher ground. Because, while there was no guarantee there would be a destructive tsunami, the chance was too high to risk it. The magnitude of this earthquake can be seen in videos residents have shared online. A particularly viral video shows someone’s backyard pool shaking to an alarming degree. See for yourself in the video below. Since when is our pool a wave pool omg this is crazy. It’s still rolling 10 min later there’s apparently a 6.0 near the coast #earthquake #california pic.twitter.com/4jXnbgq468— Sultana‍ (@anatlus89) December 5, 2024 California Woman’s Pool Shakes Just Before They’re Given a Tsunami Warning One minute, everything seems fine. Then, all of a sudden, Ana’s pool shakes violently. What’s even more strange is the fact that, in the video, Ana says she can’t feel the earthquake. She only knew it was happening because of the pool’s unusual movements. Not long after, the Tsunami Warning was announced. “A tsunami is not a solitary wave,” Pat Abbott, a San Diego State University Geologist says. “It’s the front of a big sheet of water coming in. So if it’s even coming in knee-depth, then you can’t stand up and it’s going to carry you, you know, 100 feet, 1,000 feet, a quarter of a mile. And it could be beating you up with three branches and things at the same time.” Thankfully, the tsunami warning was canceled not long after the initial announcement. But, had there been one, residents would have been given a much better chance at making it to safety. “It’s best to give people time. We don’t want to give fake warnings, you know, warning that there’s nothing behind this kind of thing. You don’t want people to lose faith in the system,” Pat continues. “But this one, it needed to go out.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! Ten 1970s Songs We’ve Heard Way Too Many Times

Let’s make this clear right from the start: we love these songs, we respect these songs, and the mere fact that they are among the most overplayed in rock and roll and popular music history is a testament to just how great they truly are. This article is simply a presentation of brilliant songs that, for many of us, have likely been played just one too many times in our individual lives. That’s all—it’s a statement of fact and a reflection on rock and roll and pop music history. Why is any song overplayed? Major Textbook Publisher Caught Spreading LGBTQ and DEI Ideology in Schools

Major Textbook Publisher Caught Spreading LGBTQ and DEI Ideology in Schools

“Pretty disgusting” and “grotesque.” That’s how a Florida parent described an online session for students on “gender” provided by two K-12 virtual public schools in November—a session that virtual school officials held without first informing parents. This schools’ attempt to sidestep families is just the latest in a long list of examples demonstrating that some educators and academic publishers will simply go around parents to push lewd content on K-12 students. Yet this particular incident has implications for local, state, and even federal policymakers. Connections Academy and Pearson Online Academy, online public schools managed by the U.K.-based Pearson publishing company, offered the online programing as an optional “Pride Snack and Chat” for students last month. Yet the session was not listed on the online calendars parents use to track student activities and assignments, and a parent told a Florida news station that the “chat” was a surprise. The session’s instructors described terms such as “sexually fluid abrosexual,” “masexual,” and “syndemisexual,” to name a few. Presenters displayed a slideshow to students during the chat that also promoted organizations such as GLSEN, a group that promotes LGBT issues in K-12 schools, and The Trevor Project, an organization that hosts a website connecting adults with minor-age children for discussions on everything from chest binders to puberty blockers to explicit sex acts. Considering Pearson’s record, the surprise “Snack and Chat” should come as anything but a shock. Pearson is the world’s fourth-largest textbook publisher by revenue and operates the virtual K-12 schools known as Connections Academies, which have locations around the country. Pearson also has a history of advocating for school materials that include discussions of diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI; “antiracism;” and gender issues. In 2023, Pearson officials scrubbed their website after a Heritage Foundation investigation exposed their radical content. The company had published editorial guidelines for its content creators stating that the publisher was committed to DEI and antiracism and would make “colorism,” “colonial discourse,” “genderism,” and “intersectionality” part of everything the company produces. Yet after the Heritage report, Pearson removed some of the antiracist materials from its website without explanation. The company’s “Business Partners Code of Conduct” now says Pearson and its partners will follow any state laws prohibiting the teaching of “gender” in K-12 schools. The “Snack and Chat” content appears to violate Florida’s rules against exposing K-12 students to the topics of gender or sexual orientation. Florida Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. sent a letter to Connections’ Florida director Marcie Trombino and has opened an investigation into the programming. “As commissioner of education, I expect you to govern yourselves according to state law,” Diaz wrote. Other state officials and even federal lawmakers should be on notice. Though Pearson has sold off some of its K-12 operations in recent years, the company still holds large testing-related contracts with states such as Tennessee. Of significance for federal taxpayers today, Pearson owns PDRI, the company that operates USA Hire, which is the web portal that the U.S. Office of Management and Budget uses to receive and review applications for federal job postings. Some 40 federal agencies use USA Hire, and more than 500,000 applications are submitted to the site annually. Federal officials should be aware of Pearson’s repeated attempts to inject DEI and other discriminatory ideas throughout its portfolio of services, even as it attempts to hide its dealings when exposed. Lawmakers at the state and federal levels have introduced proposals to prohibit the use of taxpayer spending on DEI, and some of the proposals include prohibitions on using contractors that operate DEI programs. When he was a U.S. senator from Ohio, Vice President-elect JD Vance sponsored a federal proposal to do so and said he hopes to “root out DEI from our federal bureaucracy” and intends to “[strip] funding for DEI policies anywhere it exists.” The optional “chat” for Florida virtual school students connects to a web of gender-related advocacy and racial discrimination that reaches all the way to Washington. State and federal officials should unravel this network, rejecting both graphic sexual content in schools and the racial discrimination promoted by DEI ideology.
