According to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), whistleblowers alleged that FEMA has wasted taxpayer dollars, misappropriated funds, and left local responders without deployment orders in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The Florida congressman described the whistleblower allegations in a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “FEMA whistleblowers allege agency misappropriated funds amid Hurricane Helene disaster, withheld pre-disaster aid, and left first responders and service members waiting in hotels without deployment orders,” Benny Johnson wrote. My office has been in contact with whistleblowers in numerous emergency-management functions at the federal, state, and local levels, and they all point to the same critical mismanagement issues. FEMA has wasted taxpayer funds, misappropriated funds, and left other federal, state, and local responders without deployment orders on the ground. As reported and further confirmed by my office, hundreds, if not thousands of service members were deployed by the Department of Defense to North Carolina and have sat idle, waiting for FEMA. We have confirmed FEMA employees deployed, on the clock, awaiting orders in hotels. FEMA pre-disaster aid was withheld, exacerbating the emergency. It is also public that NGOs have purchased airline tickets for migrants through the use of FEMA funds. The aftermath of Hurricane Helene is a major disaster, and your waste and unpreparedness are leaving Americans in distress—unable to access food, water, or medicine—and expecting help, with none coming. Please provide answers to the following questions to my office by October 11, 2024: (1) What policies and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA prevent emergency funds from being wasted on illegal immigrants, including what conditions are placed on grantees of the agency?; and (2) Of FEMA’s total budget for FY 2024, what portion of funds can be guaranteed to have been spent solely on American citizens, and what portion of funds was or may have been spent on noncitizens?; and (3) In FY 2024, what portion of funds in the Disaster Relief Fund has been spent on non-disaster-relief programs, such as providing services to illegal aliens or providing routine training to FEMA employees
authorized out of general appropriations? Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said FEMA doesn’t have enough funding to last through hurricane season. Also, Kamala Harris announced a slap-in-the-face $750 to victims. Daily Mail reports: With over 200 Americans dead and the agency strapped for cash, FEMA’s massive budget for illegal immigrants has come under scrutiny as a possible way to provide support to devastated U.S. citizens. Over the last two years, FEMA has handed out more than $1 billion taxpayer dollars to specifically support illegal migrants with housing. But now there’s no money to help out the 150,000 American citizens who have reached out for federal assistance after their homes were damaged by Hurricane Helene. ‘FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season,’ Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted on Wednesday. But only last week Congress passed a funding bill for an additional $20 billion for the anticipated hurricane season. And the whistleblowers allege the department, despite receiving the recent funding, has been slow and ineffective in its response to Hurricane Helene.

Because I started looking and I could find anything actually from Jamie Dimon saying it, and the luddite doesn’t even appear to have a Twitter account! So we didn’t run the story. Now news is breaking that Jamie Dimon is claiming the endorsement is “Fake News”…. From CNBC: JPMorganChase on Friday flatly denied that its CEO, Jamie Dimon, has endorsed Donald Trump for president, minutes after the Republican nominee claimed on social media that Dimon had endorsed him. “Jamie Dimon has not endorsed anyone. He has not endorsed a candidate,” Dimon spokesman Joe Evangelisti told CNBC in a phone call. Trump on Truth Social had posted a screenshot falsely claiming, “New: Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has endorsed Trump for President.” … But Dimon and Trump have also clashed repeatedly over the years. During the Republican presidential primary season, Dimon had urged corporate leaders to support former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley over Trump. But it turns out I actually didn’t know even a FRACTION of his story…. The man is absolutely fascinating and inspiring, and he responded in the way we all should have responded when the COVID lockdowns and restrictions hit. These Pastors also don’t know their history, because that’s what the Christians (and especially the Christian clergy) did during the Black Plague….they fearlessly took care of all the sick, and guess what?  They did not get sick themselves!  That powerful testimony of their “love in action” as well as the clear demonstration that they were not getting sick led Christianity to grow like wildfire! That should have been what happened again in 2020.  They should have invited anyone and everyone in — including the sick. Instead, the vast majority proved they don’t actually believe in what they preach each Sunday.  They don’t actually believe in the POWER of Jesus, the power of Jesus over a virus.  They cowered in fear, closing the churches almost immediately.  So sad. Not Artur… He kept his church open, treating the sick, feeding the poor, and they grew by thousands upon thousands, becoming so big and so popular that he became a threat to the Canadian Government. It’s a common tale, from Bible times until now — the popularity and fast growth of Christianity always clashes with tyrannical Governments desperate to hold on to control. It was a true honor and privilege to get to chat with Pastor Pawlowski, and I will have him back on again soon. Review by Shawn Perry After a five-year hiatus, The Experience Hendrix Tour is back on the road with a winning roster of young and veteran musicians paying homage to guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. For over two hours, the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Noah Hunt, Taj Mahal, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Zakk Wylde, and Eric Johnson graced the stage, each offering their own interpretation of one or two of Hendrix’s songs. The rhythm section of drummer Chris Layton and bassist Kevin McCormick kept the engine room purring for the duration of the night. After a Hendrix video montage and brief introduction by Jani Hendrix, Jimi’s step-sister and Experience Hendrix CEO, guitarist Mato Nanji of acclaimed Native American band Indigenous began the night off with a rousing take of “Foxey Lady.” Heavily influenced by Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Carlos Santana, Nanji leaned into his distortion while images of Jimi Hendrix filled backdrop screen. Seattle-based guitarist Ayron Jones followed with heavy readings of “Stone Free” and “The Wind Cries Mary.” Jones played many of the landmarks leads in his own distinctive way, infusing his style into the seams. And it was about to get better. Disregarding the age gap, 82-year-old Taj Mahal was joined by 25-year blues, R&B and soul guitarist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram for burning renditions of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor,” The Leaves’ “Hey Joe,” and Robert Petway’s “Catfish Blues” — all revived, reinvented, and recorded by Hendrix. Steel guitarists Chuck Campbell and Calvin Cooke (AKA The Slide Brothers) dusted off Elmore James & His Broom Dusters’ “The Sky Is Crying” with such fury and vitality, it wouldn’t have surprised anyone if the heavens had actually opened up to shed a tear or two. Things got downright wild when longtime Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde stepped up for a screeching “Manic Depression.” Wylde, who also sings, gave an impassioned reading of “Little Wing” without compromising his own mastery of lead work. He’d return later to perform Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower.” Veteran guitarist Eric Jonhson prodigiously took the baton from Wylde to slay deep, cerebral Hendrix nuggets “…And the Gods Made Love / Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland)” and “Burning Of The Midnight Lamp.” Ayron Jones and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram returned to the stage for a red-hot “Red House.” Jones popped up later for a run through of Buddy Miles’ “Them Changes” before handing off the rest of the night to Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Noah Hunt. Together, the duo churned though “Gypsy Eyes,” Earl King’s “Come On (Part I),” “I Don’t Live Today” and the epic “Voodoo Chile / Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” which provided a showcase for Shepherd’s impervious gifts on the fretboard. There is little doubt that Shepherd, who released his latest solo album Dirt On My Diamonds Vol. 2 in September, has taken the reins from players like Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn and inserted his own signature cut to the framework. While it might have been nice to have garnered an appearance from Samantha Fish or Dweezil Zappa, both of whom have been at other shows, or maybe even bassist Billy Cox, conspicuously missing from this tour — the performances in Anaheim most definitely exceeded all expectations. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Experience Hendrix Tour, along with the new documentary Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision, is keeping the music and spirit of Jimi Hendrix alive for past, present and future generations. As more young guitarists discover the legacy and more music emerge from the vaults, it seems like the love for Jimi Hendrix is never ending.
