Kamala Will Dole Out Disaster Aid by Race and Gender

You can expect a President Kamala Harris to determine everything by race and gender. Kamala doesn’t have much of a core, but she does believe that, as she has shown so many times. She plans to dole out disaster aid by race and gender, not by who needs the help most. The wannabe president bases […] The post Kamala Will Dole Out Disaster Aid by Race and Gender appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Hurricane Helene Death Toll Approaches 180 As Hundreds Still Missing

The death toll from Hurricane Helene has risen to at least 180 people across the southeast U.S. as emergency workers continue to conduct search and rescue operations for hundreds of missing people.  Deaths from Helene have been reported across six states, including Florida (17), Georgia (25), South Carolina (36), Virginia (2), Tennessee (9), and North Carolina (91). Surpassed only by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Helene is one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit the mainland United States in the last 55 years, according to Fox Weather.  Additionally, the death toll is expected to increase as hundreds have been reported missing, with roads and communications being destroyed in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. The latest update from North Carolina Democratic Governor Roy Cooper’s office said that search and rescue teams from 16 states have rescued 440 people and evacuated 4,700 others, with the North Carolina National Guard rescuing another 400. Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! “Our emergency responders are continuing to rescue people and rush aid to the mountains,” Cooper said. “The challenges are immense, but our joint response effort has and will continue to be massive.”  In North Carolina, large portions of Asheville, Chimney Rock, Swannanoa, and Biltmore Village were wiped out by flooding after the area was rocked by torrential rain. President Joe Biden is expected to make a stop in Asheville on Wednesday as part of a tour of storm-ravaged areas.  “God willing they’re alive, but there’s no way to contact them,” Biden said on Monday of those still missing. Duke Energy, which provides power in the region, said on Monday that “major portions of the power grid” were “simply wiped away.” The company said it expects there will have to be a complete rebuild of energy infrastructure due to the storm.  As of Wednesday morning, more than a million residences and businesses in the storm-impacted regions were still out of power. According to PowerOutage, there are 341,091 customers out of power in North Carolina, 493,006 in South Carolina, and 365,541 in Georgia.  Officials expect that repairing the region will cost hundreds of millions of dollars and will take months to repair damaged infrastructure.  “In most neighborhoods, the whole infrastructure has been destroyed. Poles have been knocked over. Lines are all down, so they’re going to have to rebuild the whole system. This is not going to be a quick fix,” Patrick Fitzsimmons, the mayor of Weaverville, North Carolina, told CNN on Wednesday.  Roads throughout the southeast have been destroyed, including a portion of Interstate 40 connecting Tennessee and North Carolina. The Tennessee Department of Transportation said it expects some routes in eastern Tennessee to require a “total rebuild” and some routes to be closed for the immediate future. North Carolina officials reported that there were around 400 roads closed in the state. There are a variety of organizations providing relief to victims of the hurricane’s destruction including ministries like Samaritan’s Purse while other aid is being organized by local political officials. Conservative activist Robby Starbuck is working with Tennessee state Reps. Jason Zachary and Jeremy Faison to collect water, toilet paper, non-perishable foods, and other supplies to help those hit in East Tennessee.

Doug Emhoff Accused Of Hitting Ex-Girlfriend In The Face At High-Profile Event: Report

Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, reportedly hit his ex-girlfriend in the face because he thought that she was hitting on another man at a high-profile event more than a decade ago. Three friends of the woman, a New York lawyer, told the Daily Mail about the alleged attack in 2012 on the condition that neither they nor the woman, who was only identified as “Jane,” be named out of fear of retaliation. The altercation reportedly happened at the May 2012 Cannes Film Festival in France as Emhoff and Jane waited in line for a taxi to take them back to their hotel room. The two met on an online dating website and had been dating for three months when the incident occurred, the report said. The friends provided the British publication with photos of the two together, travel documents, and emails that they say confirm that the two were in a relationship and attended the event together. The disturbing incident comes after former Biden-Harris official and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki declared in a recent interview with Emhoff that he had “reshaped the perception of masculinity.” Psaki made the remarks even though it had been recently revealed that Emhoff impregnated his children’s babysitter, which led to the end of his first marriage. Jen Psaki to Second Gentleperson “Doug”: You have “reshaped the perception of masculinity.” ? pic.twitter.com/Hsd3EIWkZW — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) September 29, 2024 Jane received tickets to the star-studded May 24, 2012, event from wealthy friends and decided to take Emhoff as her plus one. The first person who Jane told about the alleged assault was one of her male friends, who is a top New York businessman, the report said, who got a phone call from her moments after the attack happened. “It was hard to hear her because she was sobbing. She told me she was with a guy and he hit her,” he told the publication. “It was very clear what she was telling me. She said she was with a guy, her date, she was at the Cannes Film Festival, and he hit her. She was in the car with the guy at the time.” He said he did not know how to respond and wasn’t sure if he needed to call the police in France. Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! “It was something like 3am. They were trying to get out of there and they both had been drinking. There was a gigantic line for taxis,” he said, adding that she “went up to one of the valet guys, offered him 100 Euros or whatever, to get to the head of the line.” “She told me she put her hand on his shoulder. Doug apparently thought that she was flirting, and came over and slapped her in the face,” he continued. “She slapped him back. My impression is that he had a lot to drink. She was sobbing [on the phone afterwards], but she wasn’t slurring her words. She told me that she broke up with him that night.” Jane reportedly told a second friend, who is also a lawyer in New York, about the attack around the time that it happened. “They had dinner. She said Doug was very charming, and it was lovely. Then I believe it was between 2-3am, it was still raging, but she was wearing four-inch heels and a floor-length gown, so it was time to depart,” the lawyer said. “She said there’d been no fight before he hit her. You would have thought it was this fairytale trip.” “She put her hand on the valet’s shoulder, and as she was talking to him, Doug comes up,” she continued. “She said he turned her around by her right shoulder, and she was completely caught off guard. He hauled up and slapped her so hard she spun around. She said she was in utter shock.” The second friend said that Jane had slapped him back and that she had tried to get out of there by herself but that Emhoff had forced his way into the taxi. “She couldn’t believe he is the person that he is, and that it turned into this trailer trash moment,” the second friend said. “It woke her up about the self-delusion she was having, explaining away the teacher story. She realized he was bad news. This was the first time she saw his ugly side.” “She said she called [her male businessman friend] because she wanted Doug to see her on the phone, telling somebody,” the second friend said. “She felt that would afford her some protection.” A third friend, a female executive, said that Jane told her about the story in 2018. “I don’t know if it was an aggressive slap or a punch, but it was something that I know she would never forget, and something that would end a relationship immediately,” the third friend said. “She had never been hit in her life. [Jane] is a gorgeous, strong woman and you would never expect somebody to hit her.” “I asked her if he ever apologized. She said no, but he commented about the hit she gave him. It was a tennis metaphor. But no apology at all,” she continued. “He was a tennis fan. All he said to her was, ‘Don’t worry about it, you got one across the court and down the line.'” The friends said that Emhoff allegedly told Jane that he impregnated his child’s babysitter and that the nanny claimed Emhoff was so “aggressive with her, shouting or whatever, to the degree that she lost the baby.” The publication obtained Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) records that showed they were called to the home where the nanny was living in 2009, around the time she was allegedly pregnant, about a “life threatening emergency, lights and sirens on.” The department did not release any information about the incident or who was involved. The female executive told the publication that she and Jane were both Democrats, and she felt that the public needed to know about Emhoff, given the possibility that his wife could end up becoming president. “He’s holding himself out to be something he absolutely is not. And that’s bulls***.’ she said. “[Jane] was always leaning Democratic. I have always voted Democratic. If anything I would like to tell a story on the other side. But this is the truth.” “He’s a really bad guy,” she added. “To hold him out as a supporter of women is just disgusting.” Neither Emhoff nor Jane responded to requests for comment.

Even Leftist Media Think Vance Won The VP Debate

Following the vice presidential debate on Tuesday night, many in the legacy media were forced to admit that Republican VP candidate JD Vance won the night against Democrat nominee Tim Walz. While many in the media declared Walz the winner, others acknowledged Vance’s grasp of the issues and Walz’s shaky performance. Jonathan Karl of ABC, for example, said “Walz did seem unsteady and, frankly, what I saw in Walz is somebody who has not faced questions on a national stage.” “In contrast, JD Vance was very smooth. He took the arguments … to Kamala Harris,” Karl added. “Walz did seem unsteady and, frankly, what I saw in Walz is somebody who has not faced questions on a national stage,” says @jonkarl. “In contrast, JD Vance was VERY smooth. He took the arguments … to Kamala Harris.” ??? pic.twitter.com/BpQz6RhUOt — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) October 2, 2024 Abby Phillip of CNN had a similar comment, saying “JD Vance came to this debate to land a bunch of punches — and he did. … Walz did not seem prepared for it.” Even known Trump hater @abbydphillip of CNN admits JD Vance CRUSHED Tampon Tim tonight… “JD Vance came to this debate to land a bunch of punches… and he did. Tim Walz DID NOT seem prepared for it.” pic.twitter.com/1W91s9qkjP — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) October 2, 2024 CNN’s Jake Tapper also said after the debate: “If one were just going by traditional debate scoring … JD Vance would’ve won the night. He just was more polished, he was more clean, he pivoted more effectively.” WATCH: @jaketapper to @SenAmyKlobuchar: “If one were just going by traditional debate scoring…JD Vance would’ve won the night. Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! “It kind of reminded me of the June 27th debate when Kamala Harris that night said of Joe Biden ‘it was a slow start but a strong finish,’” Davis said, before adding that “JD Vance needed to come away as that humble, likable guy from Hillbilly Elegy — [and] it seemed like he did.” ABC’s Linsey Davis says Walz’s debate performance was reminiscent of Biden’s humiliating performance in June. Will Tampon Tim do the right thing and drop out of the race due to sheer embarrassment and incompetence? pic.twitter.com/Sf2kaiLaZb — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) October 2, 2024 Tom Llamas with NBC was forced to ask Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) following the debate: “Does Gov. Walz have a problem with the truth?” NBC: “This is the 3rd or 4th time that he’s said something that hasn’t been true… Does Governor Walz have a problem with the truth?” Kamala surrogate Amy Klobuchar: “No.” pic.twitter.com/HGYZmcGI37 — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) October 2, 2024 CNN’s John King also noted that Vance won on the most important issues of the campaign: the economy and immigration. “On those two issues, Vance carried it,” King said, after noting that Vice President Kamala Harris is polling at a deficit on those same issues. KING: “Vance carried it” on the top two issues of the race: the economy and immigration. pic.twitter.com/vILQsYBgRs — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) October 2, 2024 Print media also had to hand it to Vance, with POLITICO writing, “Vibe check: JD Vance is doing really well tonight.” One Democrat strategist tried to explain away the problem by saying Walz is “a regular guy against a slick politician.” MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow attempted the same explanation, saying Vance was much “slicker,” “more practiced” and a more “professional debate-style speaker.” She then claimed Walz won the debate and the only “bad moment” for Walz was when he was forced to explain why he lied about being in China during the Tiananmen Square massacre. The problem for the strategist and Maddow is that Vance has only been in politics since 2022, while Walz has been in politics since 2006 and has had more debate and interview experience. Maddow: JD Vance is a “slicker” speaker only because he, who entered politics like four years ago, has more experience speaking in debates than the 12-year-congressman, current governor of Minnesota. Another MSNBC #HotTake I didn’t know I needed, but I did. https://t.co/80eXoGsfal — Ace of Spades (@AceofSpadesHQ) October 2, 2024 Other media outlets also called the debate for Vance, including the BBC, which said: “the even-tempered, policy-focused debate, with few political body blows, probably served Vance – a polished public speaker – best in the end.” Slate also noted that “Vance won the debate,” though it went on to claim Walz had the best clip of the night during a question about January 6, 2021. The Washington Post wrote that “Walz struggled,” while The New York Times explained: “Mr. Vance looked polished throughout. Mr. Walz spoke haltingly, especially at the start, taking a series of verbal stutter-steps before getting to his point.” Whether or not these performances will help or hurt their respective campaigns remains to be seen.
