3 Major Problems Which Are Looming Over The U.S. As The Month Of October Begins

by Michael Snyder, The Economic Collapse Blog: I have a feeling that October is going to be one of the most tumultuous months that we have seen in a really long time.  Ports all along the East Coast and all along the Gulf Coast are about to shut down, and that could throw U.S. supply […]

NES High Score – by 8-Bit Steve

When people hear the name Donkey Kong there are many thoughts that might enter into their minds. The most obvious thought might be the arcade game that was released in 1981 that became Nintendo’s first arcade smash hit selling over 170,000 units and generating over 2 billion dollars in revenue from 1981 through 1983. Maybe you weren’t around for the arcade game and instead you think of the very successful documentary film The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters which portrays Steve Wiebe’s attempts to break the Donkey Kong high score world record. Perhaps you remember one of the various Donkey Kong sequels released in quick succession after Donkey Kong took over the world. Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong 3, or Mario Bros. (more of a Mario spin off). There is also a really strong chance if you are subscriber to this magazine that you grew up playing one of video game console ports of Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600, Intellivision, Colecovision, Atari 8-Bit, TI-99/4A, IBM PC….. New On Antstream This Week: Centipede & The Lords Of Midnight

An arcade shooter and a retro strategy/RPG hybrid join the library this week. Another week means yet more games added to the Antstream library. This time we have the classic arcade shooter Centipede (Atari 8-bit) and the just as classic strategy/RPG The Lords of Midnight (Spectrum) Previously a VCS exclusive, the Atari 8-bit version of Centipede joins Antstream this week. An iconic game that proved incredibly popular in the arcades, Centipede originally launched in 1981 before being released on multiple platforms. The game is a fixed shooter where the titular centipede moves left and right across the screen, getting lower with each crossing. The goal is to shoot all of the centipede segments before it reaches the bottom. Mushrooms litter the screen, increasing as the player advances through the levels, but they can also be shot and destroyed. The centipede will move until it hits the edge of the screen or a mushroom, and will then turn around. Shooting the middle segments of the centipede will cause it to split in two, and the player is scored depending on what they manage to shoot. A true classic from the golden age of arcade games, Centipede is not a game to miss. The Lords of Midnight is a fantasy strategy/RPG hybrid game that launched originally for the ZX Spectrum in 1984, before being converted to other home computers. The game proved to be very well regarded by the players and spawned a couple of sequels in later years. In The Lords of Midnight, players are charged with destroying the Witchking Doomdark and bringing about the end of the perpetual winter that hangs over the Land of Midnight. Played very much like a graphic adventure, The Lords of Midnight employed an innovative 3-D effect to immerse the player in the fantasy world. Players initially begin with four characters, but can recruit many other characters to their cause as they progress. The game has two different goals that change how the game is played. Players can either choose to destroy the source of Doomdark’s power, which plays as an adventure, or raise enough armies to storm Doomdark’s citadel, which is more wargame. For the most adventurous players, combining both objectives into one game is the way to go. The Lords of Midnight is a classic example of early strategy games and still has a devoted following even now. This week’s challenge is for Double Dragon players who think they are hard enough. Titled “C’mon Then, If You Think You’re Hard Enough”, players must earn the highest score possible on the highest difficulty. Good luck! We’ll be back next week with more games to play anytime, anywhere. The post New On Antstream This Week: Centipede & The Lords Of Midnight appeared first on Old School Gamer Magazine.

A.F. Branco Cartoon – Hosed

A.F. Branco Cartoon – Kamala returns to the scene of her disaster as border Czar and promises to fix it if she is elected as President. Biden and Harris are responsible for eliminating all of Trump’s executive orders, which gave us a secure border. Although they could reinstate those executive orders today, they continue to blame Trump for their disaster. Kamala’s Border Photo Op BACKFIRES | Drew Hernandez By Drew Hernandez – The Gateway Pundit – 09/30/2024 DEI VP Kamala Harris FINALLY made it down to the Southern Border over the weekend on Friday. She went down to Douglas, Arizona, and spent only 20 minutes talking to a couple of officers while wearing high heels and what appears to be a $62,000 dollar Tiffany necklace for a quick photo op. Users on social media quickly ripped her apart for the clearly staged photo-op on top of neglecting the open border massacre for the past nearly 4 years. ANGEL mothers, the Border Patrol Union, Arizona locals and ranchers, the Trump Campaign, and members of the media all in unison quickly called Kamala Harris out for the ridiculous display of hypocrisy. She also spoke at Cochise College in Douglas, Arizona, and gave one of the most gaslighting speeches she has given to date. READ MORE…   DONATE to A.F. Branco Cartoons – Tips accepted and appreciated – $1.00 – $5.00 – $25.00 – $50.00 – it all helps to fund this website and keep the cartoons coming. Also Venmo @AFBranco – THANK YOU! A.F. Devin Nunes, Dinesh D’Souza, James Woods, Chris Salcedo, Sarah Palin, Larry Elder, Lars Larson, Rush Limbaugh, and President Trump.
