'Bizarre' Setting for Kamala Harris-MSNBC Interview Earns Widespread Mockery: 'Just Hilarious'

At this point, one wonders how much sympathy we should bother extending to our deeply propagandized neighbors. After all, in light of everything Americans have endured in the last four years, if they fail to see through the gaslighting as they gleefully cast their votes for the establishment candidate, then...

This Puppy Was Found With a Note That Read ‘Help Me,’ Now He’s Looking For a New Home

A lonely puppy was found wandering the streets of Wales with a "help me" sign hanging from his collar, but, thankfully, he is now in good hands! We humans love our pets and perhaps our dogs most of all. So, it's sad to consider having to leave one behind. Unfortunately, life's circumstances sometimes make it impossible to care for a canine companion or feline friend. That appears to have been the situation for the family or individual owner of sweet Chase. RELATED: Couple Going Door-to-Door to Find Lost Dog's Owner Stop As They Hear Cries for Help Chase Was Found With a Help Me Sign Chase was found in the town of Bridgend, Wales, which is 20 miles west of Cardiff. Attached to Chase's collar was an envelope that read, "Help me!! My name is Chase." Inside the envelope was a heartbreaking note that provided more information about the abandoned dog. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hope Rescue (@hoperescuewales) According to Wales Online, the note read, "My name is Chase. I am 1 yr old November 16. I am very friendly and kind, good with kids. I need a new home as my owner cannot take care of me. Please help me. Thank you." When Chase and the note were discovered, he was taken to Hope Rescue. Chase was "very nervous" and "shell-shocked" after being on the streets; however, the shelter provided lots of love, and he slowly became more trusting. Initially, Chase stayed in his kennel and chose not to play or interact, but he eventually became more comfortable with the shelter's staff. Chase is now waiting for a forever home while in the loving care of a wonderful foster family. Hope Rescue told Wales Online, "A foster home came forward. They've got two little dogs that he's really enjoying the company of and he's already starting to show his playful side. Although he's been through a really stressful situation, we're hoping that now he is on the way up and will have a lovely life with his people." RELATED: Woman Looking For a New Pet Gets Reunited With Lost Dog She Thought Was Gone Forever The Center Posted It Online On August 26, the center posted on Instagram photos of the note Chase was wearing when found. They also posted a photo of him being held by one of their staff members. They hoped that Chase's owner might see the post and find comfort in knowing that Chase is now safe and being well cared for. Hope Rescue further shared, "In July alone we received 156 calls to take in 226 dogs. We took in 72 dogs in July, and this month so far we have already taken in 146 dogs. Most of these dogs are strays or dogs seized from illegal and low welfare breeders. With the animal welfare sector in crisis, we know how hard it is to find rescue spaces right now, but we would urge owners to still call local and breed rescues and try their hardest to wait for a space." The People story and the Instagram post received both kind and critical comments. Many readers had a hard time fathoming how an owner could leave their pet to fend for itself. A few seemed to understand that it might be unavoidable. What a blessing it is that Chase's story turned out well, thanks to an alert citizen and the work of their local pet shelter. Time To Stock Up? Strike Looms Next Week At Ports From Maine To Texas

A strike looms for the second-busiest U.S. ocean container port and dozens of ports from Maine to Texas. “Strike preparations are underway at the Port of New York-New Jersey, Port Director Bethann Rooney said in a letter to customers, offering details on operational plans during the stoppage,” FreightWaves reports. Port of NY-NJ Prepares for Potential Strike The Port of New York-New Jersey, the second-busiest U.S. ocean container port, is gearing up for a possible strike set to begin at midnight on October 1. The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), representing 25,000 workers,… https://t.co/973vE4EDyX pic.twitter.com/vWsEqWkAiy — -e?- (@eXonX589) September 26, 2024 Per FreightWaves: The International Longshoremen’s Association representing 25,000 members in container and roll-on/roll-off services covered under the current master contract will walk off the job when the contract with port employers represented by the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) expires at midnight Oct. 1. The pact covers workers at three dozen ports from Maine to Texas handling some $92 billion worth of freight each year. No contract negotiations are scheduled. Major issues are wages, benefits and port automation. The union on Monday termed the latest wage offers “stingy” and disputed claims by USMX that the union is demanding wage hikes of more than 75% over a proposed six-year agreement. Some people warned to stock up due to the looming strike. It was unclear just how fast the NLRB might act on the request. A message was left seeking comment from the agency. Its unlikely that the NLRB will rule on the complaint before the Tuesday strike deadline, and with no talks scheduled, a strike appears to be likely. The NLRB request comes just four days before the ILA’s six-year contract with the ports expires, and the union representing 45,000 dockworkers from Maine to Texas says it will go on strike at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday. The two sides haven’t bargained since June in a dispute largely over wages and a union-proposed ban on increased automation of port cranes, gates and trucks that could cost jobs. A message also was left Thursday seeking comment from the union. “USMX has been clear that we value the work of the ILA and have great respect for its members,” the alliance statement said. “We have a shared history of working together and are committed to bargaining.” In early bargaining, industry analysts say the union sought 77% pay raises over six years to make up for inflation and give workers a chunk of the billions made by shipping companies since the coronavirus pandemic. UPDATE: Indictment For NYC Mayor Eric Adams Unsealed

Manhattan prosecutors unsealed the indictment against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, the first against a sitting NYC mayor. The 57-page indictment accuses the Democrat mayor of conspiracy, wire fraud and bribery charges. “In 2014, Eric Adams, the defendant, became Brooklyn Borough President. Thereafter, for nearly a decade, Adams sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him,” the indictment reads. “By 2018, Adams – who had by then made known his plans to run for Mayor of New York City – not only accepted, but sought illegal campaign contributions to his 2021 Mayoral campaign, as well as other things of value, from foreign nationals,” it continued. “As Adams’s prominence and power grew, his foreign-national benefactors sought to cash in on their corrupt relationships with him, particularly when, in 2021, it became clear that Adams would become New York City’s mayor,” it added. New York City Mayor Eric Adams' federal indictment has been *UNSEALED.* Mayor Adams is being charged with accepting bribes from "wealthy foreign business people," including "at least one Turkish government official." He is also accused of campaign finance fraud. pic.twitter.com/Weoe9zIpzw — Kyle Becker (@kylenabecker) September 26, 2024 From the New York Post: Prior to the indictment coming down, sources had revealed the charges were likely connected to allegations the Turkish government had illegally funneled money into Adams’ mayoral campaign in exchange for approval of the Turkish consulate in Manhattan. “Eric Adams the defendant, sought and accepted illegal campaign contributions in the form of “nominee” or “straw” contributions, meaning that the true contributors conveyed their money through nominal donors, who falsely certified they were contributing their own money,” the indictment states. “By smuggling their contributions to Adams through U.S.-based straw donors, Adams’s overseas contributors defeated federal laws that serve to prevent foreign influence on U.S. elections.” It wasn’t immediately clear when Adams would have to appear in court in the wake of the indictment. Sources had earlier told The Post he wasn’t expected to turn himself in until early next week. The court filing dropped shortly before US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, was slated to hold an 11.30 a.m. news conference to announce “significant public corruption charges.” INDICTMENT AGAINST ERIC ADAMS UNSEALED pic.twitter.com/M0IAHj3QKh — NYC Bike Lanes (@NYCBikeLanes) September 26, 2024 The five counts against Adams are the following: Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Federal Program Bribery, and to Receive Campaign Contributions By Foreign Nationals Wire Fraud Solicitation of a Contribution by a Foreign National Solicitation of a Contribution by a Foreign National Bribery Federal Indictment against #NewYork Mayor Eric Adams unsealed Count 1: Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Federal Program Bribery, and to Receive Campaign Contributions By Foreign Nationals Count 2: Wire Fraud Count 3: Solicitation of a Contribution by a Foreign National Count… — Susan Li (@SusanLiTV) September 26, 2024 Per CNBC: Much of the indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan centers on the Turkish community and Turkish businessmen who allegedly exerted influence on Adams. The indictment says a “senior official in the Turkish diplomatic establishment” facilitated illegal campaign donations to Adams, and also arranged for the mayor and his companions to receive free or discounted travel on Turkey’s national airline, which is owned in large part by that country’s government, to France, China, Sri Lanka, India, Hungary and Turkey. In September 2021, the indictment alleges, the Turkish official told Adams “that it was his turn to repay” that official by pressuring the New York City Fire Department to facilitate the opening of a new Turkish consulate building, which is 36-stories-tall, “without a fire inspection, in time for a high-profile visit by Turkey’s president.” “At the time, the building would have failed an FDNY inspection,” the indictment says. Adams “did as he was instructed,” and an FDNY official “was told that he would lose his job if he failed to acquiesce,” the indictment says. The building then opened as requested, according to the indictment. “I look forward to defending myself and defending the people of this city, as I’ve done throughout my entire professional career,” Adams said outside Gracie Mansion while flanked by supporters, after the indictment was unsealed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
