Kamala Harris Owes Us Some Answers

It’s been more than two months since Vice President Kamala Harris was deeded the Democratic presidential nomination. During that time, she has not held a news conference or sat with many mainstream journalists to answer serious questions about how she would lead the country and who she would choose as her advisers. On Saturday, riding high on her first debate win against Trump, Harris accepted CNN’s offer of a second presidential debate on Oct. 23. Trump declined the offer to appear on the Harris-friendly and anti-Trump CNN saying, “it’s too late.” Harris has promised to bring down the cost of everything, though costs still remain high partly because of the spending policies of her and President Biden’s administration. Will those policies continue and if not, what policies will replace them? She has said she wants to impose price controls, but they have never worked. Wouldn’t it be better to address and change the policies that have caused prices and inflation to rise? How would she handle the war in Ukraine? Should China invade Taiwan on her watch, would she commit U.S. troops and resources to defend the democratic nation? Would she support laws already on the books to keep migrants who are not U.S. citizens from voting in federal elections? How would she do this? Does she still intend to tax unrealized capital gains, meaning people would pay on assets, like their homes, 401K’s and other retirement savings that have increased in value but whose owners have not benefited from them? The Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, has promised to bring in outside auditors to reduce the size, cost and reach of the federal government. Is this something she endorses? If not, what would she do to reduce the debt which is a record $35 trillion. According to the Peter G. Peterson Foundation: “In 2023, the federal government spent $658 billion on net interest costs on the national debt. That total grew by 38 percent from $476 billion in 2022.” All of this – and more – could be discussed if Harris would stop engaging in a stealth strategy that keeps her from having to answer hard questions the public has a right to know. Real journalists, not the kind who used to work for politicians and activist organizations (“Mr. President, what is your favorite ice cream flavor?") should be demanding she start holding long news conferences. Every other president for the last century has done so before and after elections. John F. Kennedy held his in the State Department auditorium. Lyndon Johnson had a different approach, answering reporters’ questions as he walked around the White House driveway, sometimes pulling the ears of his dogs. Barack Obama was a master of the news conference. Ronald Reagan, too, projected strength and good humor. Are Harris and her campaign staff afraid she will revert to her incoherent word salads? Americans have a right to know what kind of president they are voting for and how she will lead. This shouldn’t be an “arranged marriage” in which neither side knows much about the other. This is the 100th anniversary year of Calvin Coolidge’s ascension to the presidency following the death of Warren Harding, Coolidge’s oldest son, John, once told me his father invented the modern news conference. John showed me transcripts of those meetings with reporters, which were off the record, but which gave reporters information they could use without attributing it to Coolidge. Even while traveling, Coolidge made sure the press had information of at least some value. The favor was returned in mostly positive coverage and not the cynicism and one-sided “reporting” that characterizes so much of what’s left of real journalism today. Reporters sought facts and did not cheerlead for one candidate or another. Come on Kamala and hold a news conference. If you are incapable of doing them, the public has a right and a need to know now.

Ahead Of Debate, Daily Show Promotes Walz's 'Sinister Niceness'

With the vice presidential debate a week away, it was Tim Walz’s turn to get Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to produce a humorous look at his life story. However, instead of looking for jokes in Walz’s life or policies, The Daily Show chose to create a satirical ad mocking Republicans for not falling in love with him and his "sinister niceness." The narrator began by mocking the idea that Walz could be a radical, “He developed a taste for blood from his father and grandfather, who owned a meat locker. And was indoctrinated into communism while working on a farm, where he evenly distributed fertilizer, regardless of which crops worked the hardest.”     Any discussion of Walz’s military controversies surrounding his rank, deployment history, the timeline around his decision to retire was ignored. Instead, the narrator claimed, “Soon, Walz was recruited to join the National Guard, where he admitted to swindling our brave troops.” In a clip, Walz recalled, “I willingly say I got far more out of the military than they got out of me.” The ad also tried to condemn any talk that Walz may be out of touch, “That government welfare paid for him to attend an elite Ivy League-style school in the globalist nexus of Chadron, Nebraska.” As for Walz’s history with China, those concerns were also ridiculed, “Not surprisingly, Walz used his education degree to get a job teaching America's future enemies in Communist China. In China, Walz worked at a Chinese school, teaching armies of Chinese students, who were from China. After completing his Chinese brainwashing, Walz returned to the Midwest, where he indoctrinated decent American children with his social studies, forcing them to read textbooks, and look at maps. Now safely undercover in Minnesota, Walz married fellow teacher Gwen Whipple, and where do you think they honeymooned? That's right. China.” Continuing to try to play up Walz as just a normal guy, the narrator continued, “Walz's sinister niceness could not be contained by a classroom. It started bleeding into after-school activities, when he took a position coaching football. The same sport CIA operative Travis Kelce plays as part of his Taylor Swift psyop. But it's no surprise, Walz ended up a football coach. It was in his blood to crave the touch of dead pig flesh. From there, it was a small step to his most evil act of kindness yet. Grooming children to be nice to each other.”     After a clip of Walz recalling being asked to start a Gay-Straight Alliance group, the narrator proceeded, “But being nice to children wasn't enough for this sicko. He wanted to be nice to a whole congressional district... After winning a seat, Walz charged in on day one, just dripping with entitlement.” Following yet another clip of Walz, this one of him marveling that his House office had a bathroom, the narrator continued, “Pooping on the taxpayer's dollar. You know where else they have government restrooms? China. Before long, this ambitious zealot set his sights on an even fancier place to poop: the governor's office.” As for his time as governor, the 2020 riots were mentioned as something that happened, not something that Walz sat back and watched for three days, “Walz seized power and within days, the state was overwhelmed by riots in the streets and a deadly virus from guess where? To no one's surprise, Governor Walz unleashed a theory of radically nice policies. And the nicest of all, free breakfast and lunch for school kids.” The satirical ad concluded by again trying to paint Walz as a normal guy who likes to hunt, fish, eat corn dogs, and repair his gutters. But no amount of corn dog socks can change the fact that he is an abortion radical, who has unseemly associations, and has a history of making things up in order to pad his resume and life story. Here is a transcript for the September 24 show: Comedy Central The Daily Show 9/24/2024 11:15 PM ET NARRATOR: He developed a taste for blood from his father and grandfather, who owned a meat locker. And was indoctrinated into communism while working on a farm, where he evenly distributed fertilizer, regardless of which crops worked the hardest. Soon, Walz was recruited to join the National Guard, where he admitted to swindling our brave troops. TIM WALZ: I willingly say I got far more out of the military than they got out of me. NARRATOR: Disgusting. That government welfare paid for him to attend an elite Ivy League-style school in the globalist nexus of Chadron, Nebraska. Not surprisingly, Walz used his education degree to get a job teaching America's future enemies in Communist China. China. To this day, he still doesn't try to hide his allegiance. WALZ: [Speaks Chinese] Happy Chinese New Year of the pig ON SCREEN SUBTITLES: I love communism [jump cut] I’m a spy. NARRATOR: Walz's sinister niceness could not be contained by a classroom. Grooming children to be nice to each other. WALZ: They asked if I would be interested in helping start a Gay-Straight Alliance group. If you have an older, white, straight, married male football coach, who is deeply concerned that these students are treated fairly and that there is no bullying.  NARRATOR: But being nice to children wasn't enough for this sicko. He wanted to be nice to a whole congressional district WALZ: I will speak for you! Thank you! NARRATOR: After winning a seat, Walz charged in on day one, just dripping with entitlement. WALZ: Holy cow. Look at the door. My own restroom. NARRATOR: Pooping on the taxpayer's dollar. You know where else they have government restrooms? China. Before long, this ambitious zealot set his sights on an even fancier place to poop: the governor's office. His opponents tried desperately to warn people. SCOTT JENSEN: I think Tim Walz is an affable individual who has a wonderful smile. NARRATOR: But it was too late. Walz seized power and within days, the state was overwhelmed by riots in the streets and a deadly virus from guess where? To no one's surprise, Governor Walz unleashed a theory of radically nice policies. And the nicest of all, free breakfast and lunch for school kids.

Media frets about racism after yet another DEI-obsessed university president apparently committed plagiarism

Darryll Pines, the president of the University of Maryland, is under fire for apparently plagiarizing some of his work from a website. Rather than report the story straight, however, some media outlets covering the allegations have turned their attention to the Daily Wire, the outlet that dared to unearth Pines' alleged academic dishonesty in the first place. The allegationsEarlier this month, the Daily Wire reported that Pines, an aerospace engineer who has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from MIT, appeared to lift roughly 1,500 words from a website for a 5,000-word article he co-authored with Liming Salvino.'It is not uncommon for historical and technical reviews to use recurrent language to provide a framework for past work.'Their article was first published in 2002. Much of the text of that article was then published again in a separate journal in 2006.The website from which Pines and Salvino apparently plagiarized is called Surfing the Wavelets. It was created in 1996 by Joshua Altmann, who was then a university student in Australia. The website has not been updated since 1996.To demonstrate the extent of the apparently plagiarized material, the Daily Wire included a damning side-by-side comparison of Altmann's website and excerpts from Pines and Salvino's 2002 article. The language is almost identical except that some sentences appear to have been omitted.Pines and Salvino also apparently took the trouble of Americanizing Altmann's British spelling so that words such as analysed and localised appeared instead as analyzed and localized. The co-authors may also have accidentally introduced a spelling error in the process, writing endevour where Altmann has endeavor.Neither the 2002 nor the 2006 article cites Altmann or his website even as both include all of Altmann's footnotes "down to the page numbers," the Daily Wire said.Pines' list of published scholarship on his university website does not mention either article, though both do appear on his CV.Just this month, Pines also allegedly used ChatGPT to compose a speech for a presentation about an upcoming pro-Palestinian rally on October 7, the Daily Wire reported. Pines claimed the information came from "faculty research."When reached for comment, University of Maryland spokesperson Katie Lawson didn't even bother to deny the accusations. Instead, she said: It is not uncommon for historical and technical reviews to use recurrent language to provide a framework for past work. Establishing this shared understanding in the scientific community is what allows for applications of new technology, which is what Dr. Pines and Dr. Salvino explored in testing a new application of the Hilbert phase. The use of customary or common language in introductory material does not speak to the integrity of the data or the veracity of the findings. In the days following the Daily Wire's bombshell report, Pines called for an independent review of his work. "While I do not believe there is merit to these claims, an impartial review is in the best interest of the university," he said.In his statement, he also admitted to including "recurrent language in the introductory sections," ostensibly of his 2002 and 2006 pieces, even as he insisted that his "results, data and findings are sound."Even Jonathan Bailey, who claims to be a plagiarism expert, admitted that Pines' case "appears to be one of the stronger" allegations of academic misconduct leveled lately against university professors and administrators, many of whom are black."Here, we have whole sections of a paper that are near verbatim or verbatim," Bailey said. The response'Black People: Stay in Your Lane, or You Will Be Gone.'In other words, there is ample evidence to support the accusations against Pines, but rather than investigate them, multiple outlets and organizations have instead attempted to ascertain the Daily Wire's possible motives for reporting them. And most of them seemingly came to the conclusion that those who report on black alleged plagiarists are just plain racist."The Daily Wire is a conservative publication associated with national figures who often rail against diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and specialize in incendiary content," wrote the Baltimore Banner."The claim against Dr. Pines comes after a series of plagiarism accusations have been leveled at academics — many of them focused on diversity efforts in universities and many of them Black — in recent months," tsked the New York Times.Inside Higher Ed bemoaned the "pattern of attacks on scholars of color by conservative activists and publications in recent months."US Black Engineer Information Technology, which bills itself as "the STEM community's magazine," went so far as to paint Pines as the victim of a racist witch hunt: "Despite his long-standing leadership in fostering diversity and inclusion, some view his current challenges as part of a broader DEI backlash.""Black People: Stay in Your Lane, or You Will Be Gone," USBEIT added ominously.Pines is black. He also happens to be an outspoken DEI activist at the University of Maryland. He is so race-obsessed that the opening paragraph of his university bio touts his efforts to establish "a diverse and multicultural community."As part of those efforts, he created the TerrapinSTRONG initiative, which seeks to "welcome new members into our community, enhance inclusion and sense of belonging, and act upon University of Maryland diversity, equity and inclusion goals."In his statement calling for a review of his work, Pines also hinted that he has been unfairly targeted by ruthless investigators, lamenting: "Like many of my fellow higher education presidents and chancellors, I have come under aggressive scrutiny, both personally and professionally."The UM Office of Research Integrity will conduct the review of his work and will then share its findings with Chancellor Jay Perman via the Office of Faculty Affairs in the provost’s office, the Baltimore Banner said.Altmann could not be reached for comment, and Salvino declined to comment, the Banner added.Blaze News reached out to the Daily Wire for comment.Like Blaze News? Soros-backed Democratic propaganda network is helping the Harris campaign deceive Americans

The Harris campaign posted an image of what appeared to be a real news headline on Monday, which read, "Polish Pennsylvanians endorse Kamala Harris over Putin, Ukraine concerns." Harris boosters online suggested this was a "huge endorsement," with some insinuating it was confirmation that the bulk of American Poles in the commonwealth were backing the vice president. Keen observers, however, suspected there was something fishy about the supposed endorsement — especially since Trump reportedly won a majority of votes in eight of the 10 Pennsylvania neighborhoods with the highest concentrations of American Poles in 2020 — as well as about the source of the campaign's claim. It turns out that the endorsement was not reflective of the broader Polish-American community's political opinion but rather noise from a small group of avowed Democrats, including Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D) and Democratic state Reps. Jessica Benham, Eddie Day Pashinksi, and Melissa Cerrato. 'Although the articles are made to resemble ordinary news, their purpose isn’t primarily to build a readership for the website.' The publication cited in the Harris campaign tweet, the Keystone Newsroom, is actually part of the Courier Newsroom leftist propaganda network founded in 2017 by Democratic strategist Tara McGowan — the head of the Acronym network of Democratic-aligned activist groups who previously served as a staffer on President Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign, as an associate producer for CBS News, and as an operative for a super PAC that supported Hillary Clinton's failed 2016 campaign. Acronym's political arm, Pacronym, is a Democratic super PAC that dumped tens of millions of dollars into recent elections. In 2019, Bloomberg revealed McGowan's intention behind Courier Newsroom's local propaganda outfits: "Capture and persuade a small portion of strategically situated swing-state voters" in states such as Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Bloomberg noted: While the articles she publishes are based on facts, nothing alerts readers that Courier publications aren’t actually traditional hometown newspapers but political instruments designed to get them to vote for Democrats. And although the articles are made to resemble ordinary news, their purpose isn’t primarily to build a readership for the website: It’s for the pieces to travel individually through social media, amplifying their influence with persuadable voters. The propaganda network closely resembles a Democratic voter outreach operation. "Everybody who clicks on, likes, or shares an article," said McGowan, "we get that data back to create a lookalike audience to find other people with similar attributes in the same area. So we continually grow our ability to find people." 'What I say to them is, balance does not exist any more.' McGowan revealed that because her propaganda network is for profit, she was initially able to get around Google's tight restrictions on micro-targeting political ads — and appears to have so far avoided registering with the Federal Election Commission as a political group. Some social media platforms are wise to what Courier really is. Facebook, for instance, removed the publications from its news feed ahead of the 2020 presidential election, recognizing it as propaganda. While the Harris campaign appears keen to pretend the headline is real, it's clear that McGowan — who retweeted the Harris campaign's image of the headline — is under no illusion that the Keystone Newsroom and related outfits are anything more than propaganda. "A lot of people I respect will see this media company as an affront to journalistic integrity because it won't, in their eyes, be balanced," she told Bloomberg. "What I say to them is, balance does not exist any more." The propaganda network has reportedly been funded in the past by billionaire leftist George Soros, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and various wealthy Democratic donors. Soros' Fund for Policy Reform poured at least $5 million into Courier between 2021 and 2022. Blaze News previously noted that ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, the leftist propaganda network received $1.2 million from the New Venture Fund, Hopewell Fund, and the Sixteen Thirty Fund — all three managed by Arabella Advisors, a leftist, for-profit dark money group based in Washington, D.C. It appears the propaganda network is now trying to help Harris win over Polish-American voters by characterizing President Donald Trump as sympathetic to Russia, citing his desire to bring an end to the war in Ukraine, which has so far left at least 1 million dead or injured. The Associated Press noted that there are an estimated 784,000 Polish-Americans in Michigan, 758,000 in Pennsylvania, and 481,000 in Wisconsin. The apparent purpose of the Keystone Newsroom propaganda piece — which does not provide the names of any supposed signatories besides the Democratic lawmakers — and the Harris campaign's use of the headline is to mislead members of this demographic into believing she has the support of their fellow Polish-Americans, despite her apparent contempt for their dominant religion. The partisans' letter claims that if Ukraine falls, Poland is next and that "Trump bowed to dictators like Putin before and he will do it again if he is reelected." The letter, which omits any mention of the fact Ukraine was invaded during this and the previous Democratic administrations, but not under Trump, suggests further that "Vice President Harris has a long, strong track record of protecting our democracy here at home and standing up for our brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents in Poland." While leftists have suggested that Trump might endanger Poland, the Biden-Harris administration is apparently now considering a move that would embroil Poland and all NATO nations in a direct shooting war with Russia: the authorization of Ukraine's use of American and British long-range weapons in Russia. Porch pirate walks up to FedEx driver, claims he's homeowner, wants package — but wise driver steps up, flips script on crook

A FedEx driver in Florida prevented a porch pirate from stealing a homeowner's delivery items last week, police said.Doorbell video posted online shows a male approaching the FedEx driver, who is standing on the porch of a home in Hialeah on Friday, WPLG-TV reported.'That FedEx driver was already able to capture a picture of his car and his tag,' Hialeah Police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez told WPLG. 'We want to know if this man is responsible for other theft packages in the city of Hialeah.'Police said the male claimed to be the homeowner and wanted to take the packages, which contained new iPhones, the station said. But the unidentified driver wasn't so easily fooled and asked the male to prove his identity, the station said.In the full doorbell camera video posted on Only in Dade, the FedEx driver notices the male walking up the driveway toward the home, and the driver says, "No. Who are you? No, open the door."But the male keeps walking toward the porch — and suddenly stops and turns around and walks away when the driver holds up his cell phone, presumably to record video or take a photo."I don't know you," the driver is heard saying, adding to the male, "I'm gonna call the police." WPLG said the real homeowner — who asked to be identified only by his first name, Anthony — was watching the scene play out remotely.Suddenly the homeowner's voice is heard asking, "Hey! What's going on?" as the driver follows the male back down the driveway. The FedEx driver then yells, "Got you!" After that, the driver runs back up the driveway to the porch shouting "Yo!" and then knocks on the door and informs the homeowner about the male who was "trying to steal" the delivery.Anthony told WPLG that the driver told the male, "If you do live here, open the door and show me some ID, and I’ll give you the phones.'" The male was seen driving away in a red Hyundai, the station said. “That FedEx driver was already able to capture a picture of his car and his tag,” Hialeah Police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez told WPLG. “We want to know if this man is responsible for other theft packages in the city of Hialeah.” FedEx released a statement to the station that read, in part, "The security of our customers’ shipments is our top priority, and we appreciate our courier’s quick actions to make sure the shipment was delivered to its intended recipient. We encourage any customer who believes a shipment has been stolen to immediately contact local law enforcement.” Police are investigating and said those with information should call them, WPLG reported.WTVJ-TV said the homeowner indicated the FedEx driver knows his family well and expressed gratitude to the driver for his decisive actions. You can view a video report here about this incident. Nancy Pelosi shows her true colors when Jake Tapper dares air criticism of Kamala Harris: 'Why would you even cover that?!'

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) became outraged and lectured CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Tuesday for doing his job as a journalist.During an interview with the former House speaker that focused on Vice President Kamala Harris' refusal to lay out substantive plans for America and her habit of dodging media interviews, Pelosi excused Harris, saying that she has "no complaints about how [Harris] is going forward."'Let's not even talk about the silliness of it all and the weirdness of it all and the assault on women that it is.'But the interview became contentious about halfway through when Tapper brought attention to the issue of perceived cognitive problems among presidential candidates. Then Tapper played a video of Donald Trump criticizing Harris' cognitive abilities."They laugh at us, all over the world. They're laughing at us. And you know what they're really laughing at? Kamala, because they can't believe that she's going to be president. They can't believe," Trump said in the video. "You talk about cognitive problems. She's got bigger cognitive problems that he has, in my opinion."The fact that Tapper would dare legitimize Trump's critiques incensed Pelosi. "Why would you even cover that?!" the California Democrat snapped."This is a person who's not on the level. He is their nominee for president. He is incompetent," she continued. "Let's not even talk about the silliness of it all and the weirdness of it all and the assault on women that it is. We're not going to talk issues. Incompetent."Pelosi then launched into a series of angry attacks on Trump. She claimed the "only thing" Trump did as president is to pass legislation that benefited America's richest citizens (not true), claimed he had the "worst job creation record of anybody president since Herbert Hoover" (not true), and claimed he is "responsible for thousands and thousands of people dying" during the COVID-19 pandemic (not true)."Incompetent. Forget silly and crazy and crooked and all the rest. Incompetent," Pelosi raged.Tapper tried to correct Pelosi's falsehoods, reminding her that the job losses that happened in 2020 under Trump weren't because of him, but they happened because states shut down during COVID. And fortunately, Tapper had the gumption to defend himself."Let me just say: Why do I run that clip? I run that clip it because that's the Republican presidential nominee. And I thought you might have a reaction to it," he explained. It is, after all, Tapper's job as a journalist to cover what the leading presidential candidates say. Pelosi's reaction to Tapper for simply doing his job — and not covering Harris only in a positive light — is telling. Like Blaze News?
