Porch pirate walks up to FedEx driver, claims he's homeowner, wants package — but wise driver steps up, flips script on crook

A FedEx driver in Florida prevented a porch pirate from stealing a homeowner's delivery items last week, police said.Doorbell video posted online shows a male approaching the FedEx driver, who is standing on the porch of a home in Hialeah on Friday, WPLG-TV reported.'That FedEx driver was already able to capture a picture of his car and his tag,' Hialeah Police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez told WPLG. 'We want to know if this man is responsible for other theft packages in the city of Hialeah.'Police said the male claimed to be the homeowner and wanted to take the packages, which contained new iPhones, the station said. But the unidentified driver wasn't so easily fooled and asked the male to prove his identity, the station said.In the full doorbell camera video posted on Only in Dade, the FedEx driver notices the male walking up the driveway toward the home, and the driver says, "No. Who are you? No, open the door."But the male keeps walking toward the porch — and suddenly stops and turns around and walks away when the driver holds up his cell phone, presumably to record video or take a photo."I don't know you," the driver is heard saying, adding to the male, "I'm gonna call the police." WPLG said the real homeowner — who asked to be identified only by his first name, Anthony — was watching the scene play out remotely.Suddenly the homeowner's voice is heard asking, "Hey! What's going on?" as the driver follows the male back down the driveway. The FedEx driver then yells, "Got you!" After that, the driver runs back up the driveway to the porch shouting "Yo!" and then knocks on the door and informs the homeowner about the male who was "trying to steal" the delivery.Anthony told WPLG that the driver told the male, "If you do live here, open the door and show me some ID, and I’ll give you the phones.'" The male was seen driving away in a red Hyundai, the station said. “That FedEx driver was already able to capture a picture of his car and his tag,” Hialeah Police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez told WPLG. “We want to know if this man is responsible for other theft packages in the city of Hialeah.” FedEx released a statement to the station that read, in part, "The security of our customers’ shipments is our top priority, and we appreciate our courier’s quick actions to make sure the shipment was delivered to its intended recipient. We encourage any customer who believes a shipment has been stolen to immediately contact local law enforcement.” Police are investigating and said those with information should call them, WPLG reported.WTVJ-TV said the homeowner indicated the FedEx driver knows his family well and expressed gratitude to the driver for his decisive actions. You can view a video report here about this incident. Nancy Pelosi shows her true colors when Jake Tapper dares air criticism of Kamala Harris: 'Why would you even cover that?!'

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) became outraged and lectured CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Tuesday for doing his job as a journalist.During an interview with the former House speaker that focused on Vice President Kamala Harris' refusal to lay out substantive plans for America and her habit of dodging media interviews, Pelosi excused Harris, saying that she has "no complaints about how [Harris] is going forward."'Let's not even talk about the silliness of it all and the weirdness of it all and the assault on women that it is.'But the interview became contentious about halfway through when Tapper brought attention to the issue of perceived cognitive problems among presidential candidates. Then Tapper played a video of Donald Trump criticizing Harris' cognitive abilities."They laugh at us, all over the world. They're laughing at us. And you know what they're really laughing at? Kamala, because they can't believe that she's going to be president. They can't believe," Trump said in the video. "You talk about cognitive problems. She's got bigger cognitive problems that he has, in my opinion."The fact that Tapper would dare legitimize Trump's critiques incensed Pelosi. "Why would you even cover that?!" the California Democrat snapped."This is a person who's not on the level. He is their nominee for president. He is incompetent," she continued. "Let's not even talk about the silliness of it all and the weirdness of it all and the assault on women that it is. We're not going to talk issues. Incompetent."Pelosi then launched into a series of angry attacks on Trump. She claimed the "only thing" Trump did as president is to pass legislation that benefited America's richest citizens (not true), claimed he had the "worst job creation record of anybody president since Herbert Hoover" (not true), and claimed he is "responsible for thousands and thousands of people dying" during the COVID-19 pandemic (not true)."Incompetent. Forget silly and crazy and crooked and all the rest. Incompetent," Pelosi raged.Tapper tried to correct Pelosi's falsehoods, reminding her that the job losses that happened in 2020 under Trump weren't because of him, but they happened because states shut down during COVID. And fortunately, Tapper had the gumption to defend himself."Let me just say: Why do I run that clip? I run that clip it because that's the Republican presidential nominee. And I thought you might have a reaction to it," he explained. It is, after all, Tapper's job as a journalist to cover what the leading presidential candidates say. Pelosi's reaction to Tapper for simply doing his job — and not covering Harris only in a positive light — is telling. Like Blaze News? Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date, trailer, story, and gameplay

When is the AC Shadows release date? We’ve been clamoring for an Assassin’s Creed set in feudal Japan right from the series’ inception. After 16 years, that dream is finally a reality, and there’s plenty to learn about its characters, gameplay, and real-life historical events before launch. PCGamesN first got wind of Assassin's Creed Shadows during the Ubisoft Showcase event we attended way back in 2022. Previously known as Codename Red, this latest entry in the stealth RPG game series transports us to the turbulent Azuchi-Momoyama period. We’ll witness Obu Nobunaga’s bid to unify Japan through the eyes of dual protagonists Fujibayashi Naoe, the fictional daughter of ninja master Fujibayashi Nagato, and Yasuke, the first playable historical figure in the series. We’ve got all this and more ahead of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date. New AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU will be out in just a few weeks, says leak

AMD’s first Zen 5 gaming CPU with 3D V-cache is due to be released in just a few weeks, according to the latest leak. Unlike the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which came out a few months after the 7950X3D and 7000X3D, the new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is reportedly going to be the first Zen 5 X3D chip to be released into the wild. If it’s true, this strategy makes perfect sense to us. Even now, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is still the best gaming CPU we’ve reviewed, thanks to its great performance for the price. You don’t need to pay for more than eight cores for gaming, and the 7800X3D’s single-chiplet design means that all its cores have access to the big 64MB stack of extra cache on top of it. Conversely, there can be latency issues with the AMD 7950X3D and 7900X3D, as the cache is only on one of the chiplets, meaning some of the cores can’t access it. This new Intel gaming GPU benchmark just leaked, and the clock speed is huge

The tail end of 2024 and the start of 2025 are set to see a flurry of gaming GPU activity, if all the rumors are true, with AMD, Intel, and Nvidia all reportedly gearing up for new graphics card launches. The latest leak to hint at what to expect concerns the Battlemage Intel GPU range, with a new graphics card apparently shown as running at a huge clock speed of 2,850MHz. That would make it the fastest-clocked GPU of any modern card. However, the best graphics cards don't always need to run at the fastest clock speeds to deliver peak performance. Plus, we are yet to see what sort of clock speed AMD and Nvidia's next-gen GPUs will boast, so it's too early to yet tell if this new Intel GPU will come to rule the roost. This new Sony OLED gaming monitor is super fast, tuned for pro gamers

Sony just launched the Sony Inzone M10S, a high-performance gaming monitor built with competitive players in mind. This 27-inch OLED display, developed in collaboration with esports team Fnatic, is being touted as "tournament ready." We’ve not tested it ourselves, but if Sony’s claims hold true, then it’s certainly one of the fastest gaming monitors available today. Either way, it’s clear this isn’t a display for casual gamers. The Inzone M10S ships with a 480Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time, making this 1440p QHD Sony OLED monitor a strong alternative to the MSI MPG271QRX QD-OLED, which is currently in our best gaming monitor guide as our top choice for FPS esports players who want an OLED. Old School RuneScape’s new story is here, and it sounds epic

Old School RuneScape is the gift that keeps on giving for me. The over-decade-old MMO, itself a resurrection of RuneScape's noughties version, has already seen three new stories drop this year, and the latest has just arrived. As part of the Varlamore saga and the Twilight Emissaries trilogy, Rising Darkness continues the quest to defeat the serpent Hueycoatl. Tenet of the Spark is a gorgeous action game with Sifu style fights

Tenet of the Spark has a great premise. While the upcoming action game features a fantastic visual style, its characters moving through a colorful world with loose-limbed cartoon energy, and its Sifu-style melee combat seems solid, it's the concept that animates its story of a boxer out to solve a mystery that really grabs attention. In short, Tenet of the Spark's protagonist lives in the modern world but, in a Devil May Cry 5 or Assassin's Creed-like twist, can also see his surroundings and enemies through the time-warping worldview of an Aztec or Viking warrior, each with their own combat style.
