Man Leaves Note After Hitting Stranger’s Car & It Turns Into Surprisingly Wholesome Exchange
When this driver backed into a stranger’s car, he felt absolutely awful about it. So, he decided to leave his contact information on a piece of paper. He had no idea that his conscientious note would lead to such a wholesome text exchange! Katie, the car’s owner, was incredibly understanding about the accident. These two ended up having a lovely conversation, which the man shared in a heartwarming post on Reddit.
First, Katie reached out to let Dan, the driver, know that there was nothing wrong with her car, so he shouldn’t worry about it. She also thanked him for leaving a note instead of just driving away.
“Unless my bumper randomly falls off while I’m driving today I think you’re good,” she joked.

Even though Katie didn’t seem concerned about any damages to her vehicle, Dan still wanted to make sure everything was ok. He explained exactly where he’d hit her car and informed her that he’d noticed a dent there. However, he also added that it had been too dark to tell for certain. Dan was very relieved when the car’s owner informed him that the dent was already there before the accident!
Katie also told the man that her car had “415,000 miles on it,” so she really wasn’t worried about any minor aesthetic imperfections. All she wanted was for it to keep taking her places! With that settled, the two strangers wished each other a lovely day. Who would have thought that Dan’s note about hitting this woman’s vehicle would have led to such a wholesome interaction?

After reading these text messages, a few commenters on Dan’s social media post were convinced that this was the perfect meet-cute.
“Hallmark is already adapting this conversation into a Christmas movie,” one person wrote.
However, Dan had to disappoint the hopeless romantics of Reddit.
“Definitely would make for a great love story except I’m happily married and funny enough actually hit her car while my wife was in the passenger seat (rip ego) in the midst of a date,” he wrote in response.
Well, it sounds like this brief yet wholesome conversation about Dan’s note is as far as his and Katie’s relationship will go. Still, we’re sure it was refreshing for both of them to have such a heartwarming interaction with a stranger via text!
