Sadly, he died at 77 on Friday at his Television Woodland Hills Home in Woodland Hills, California. Although the cause of his death has not been confirmed, the late icon suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for six years. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Northrop Herring, their sons, Hank Northrop and Grady Northrop, and his stepmother, Janet Northrop. Danny Pintauro shared that he had an emergency surgery after being involved in a scooter accident. The 48-year-old who starred in Who’s the Boss? as Jonathan Bower from 1984 to 1992 alongside Tony Danza revealed this in an Instagram post on Sunday night as he shared photos of himself in the hospital connected to breathing tubes and other medical devices. The actor noted that the scooter accident occurred on Thanksgiving night, and he was hospitalized after sustaining multiple injuries. “The bike lane I was riding in suddenly got blocked with cones, and I was forced to choose between a van and a pylon,” he explained further in the post. He had “a terrible scrape on my arm, and I was convinced I had broken my arm,” he said and added that it did not seem like an emergency because there was no significant pain. However, Danny Pintauro started having “weird chest pains” late Saturday afternoon, and in no time, the pain had worsened, spreading across his chest, stomach, and shoulder muscles. “I could barely breathe.” He said. “It was the worst moment of my life.” The actor emphasized that had he delayed any longer, the result could have been fatal. Thankfully, he was rushed to the hospital by his husband, Wil Tabares, and after undergoing several blood tests, an X-ray, and a CAT scan, his bloodstream was found to have been infected due to “a tear in my stomach lining.” Air and stomach acid were escaping into his abdomen, and he was hospitalized.
