Does Cheese Really Give You Bad Or More Vivid Dreams?

The idea is probably very old, but there's not much evidence to support it.

Researchers Believe Alien Messages Between Planets Could Be Detected

Researchers believe it is possible to detect messages from aliens flying between planets, reports Popular Mechanics. For more than half a century, scientists have been trying to detect messages from potential alien civilizations that inhabit our galaxy. So far, no signals have been detected that would indicate the existence of extraterrestrial intelligent life, but the search continues. Researchers are mainly focused on finding alien messages that are directed at Earth or those that fly by. But aliens can exchange messages between planets outside the solar system. The authors of the study, published in The Astronomical Journal, believe that this communication can be re-listened. Astronomers have come up with a way that tests show could detect alien radio communications. From Earth, one exoplanet, that is, a planet outside the solar system, can be observed passing in front of another and blocking it. This is called an eclipse. But the eclipsing planet does not always completely block the planet behind it. So any message that hypothetical aliens transmit from the eclipsed planet can be transmitted into space, and ground-based radio telescopes can detect it. In this way, scientists believe, the presence of extraterrestrial intelligence can be confirmed even if the aliens do not intend to contact other civilizations, but simply communicate with each other. According to the researchers, their method can detect narrow-band radio signals. Such signals are clearly artificial, since only humans are known to transmit them. They believe that the presence of such radio signals would be evidence that communication is taking place in deep space, although it does not necessarily mean that aliens want to communicate with us. The authors of the study believe that alien civilizations would most likely use the same communication methods as humans. At the same time, narrowband signals are easier to decipher if they are based on the same physics that we know. Although whether this will work, scientists cannot yet answer. At the same time, astronomers acknowledge that any potential alien civilization could exist much longer than human civilization. So their methods of communication could differ significantly. For example, aliens may communicate using gravitational waves, or pulsations in the fabric of space-time. These waves have not yet been fully studied, so it is virtually impossible to understand whether their source is artificial or emitted by a natural object. JK Rowling says BBC 'spit' in women's faces by naming soccer player who failed gender test as player of the year

Author J.K. Rowling blasted Britain's state broadcaster after the media giant named an athlete who has failed a gender test as its top female soccer player of the year.Barbra Banda, a Zambian-born player who plays for the Orlando Pride in the United States, was named by the BBC as its women's footballer of the year for 2024.Banda was disqualified from the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations competition after allegedly failing a "gender verification" test that all tournament participants are subject to, Blaze News reported at the time.Rowling, who has been a staunch critic of males who claim to be female and participate in women's sports, responded to the news by saying the award was likely easier than directly insulting women in person."Presumably the BBC decided this was more time efficient than going door to door to spit directly in women's faces," she wrote. — (@) In 2022, Banda reportedly showed natural testosterone levels that exceeded the limits set by the Confederation of African Football.Andrew Karmanga, president of the Football Association of Zambia, told BBC Sport Africa, "All the players had to undergo gender verification, a CAF requirement, and unfortunately [Banda] did not meet the criteria set by CAF."The BBC claimed that in 2023 Banda took medication to reduce testosterone levels, but the levels did not decrease enough by the time the WAFCON tournament started. However, Blaze News found in 2024 that further investigations alleged Banda, along with two other teammates, reportedly refused to take testosterone suppressants due to unremunerated side effects.Comedian Leonarda Jonie told Blaze News at the time the decisions are "meant to humiliate [women].""Everyone knows this is wrong, especially the people who let it happen."'I feel like my mind is that strong, and I know where I am coming from.'Banda was asked directly about the issue when accepting the BBC award."I do not like to dwell on the past, but I have just to focus on myself," Banda told the BBC. "Whatever has happened in the past, it is the past, I am focusing on the new generation and where I am right now and just to focus on my career and the charity that I do back home in Zambia with a lot of people in the community. So that is my main focus right now."Banda added, "If I kept on thinking about what was going on in the past, mentally then I would not be where I am right now. But I feel like my mind is that strong, and I know where I am coming from."According to the Telegraph, before soccer, Banda was a boxer, winning all five professional matches.Like Blaze News? Capitol Police later released a statement corroborating the incident and detailing the arrest.'38-year-old Michael Hopkins was arrested, and he is facing charges for unlawful possession of ammunition, including one charge for possession of a high-capacity magazine.'"This morning, our office was informed that a member of our staff was arrested by Capitol Police," Morelle's office said in a Monday statement. New Baldur’s Gate 3 mod fixes feats to help balance your builds

There’s absolutely no denying that Baldur’s Gate 3 is an incredibly rich and rewarding experience, arguably representing the very best of the genre. However, it does have its pitfalls, and one of the largest is the feats system. It’s no wonder there are several great mods improving it already, from adding heaps of additional DnD feats to giving them out like candy each time you level up. By reworking both the best and worst feats, this new BG3 mod takes a more restrained approach - and it’s all the better for it.
