One of Warframe 1999’s romance options is “kind of disgusting”

Once upon a time at Tennocon 2023, I bonded with Warframe's creative director, Rebecca Ford, over being dumped by Astarion. I thought we were having a real, feminine moment, forging an inseparable bond over broken hearts and countless tubs of ice cream. Yet, with Warframe 1999, Digital Extremes has introduced its own take on Baldur's Gate 3's romance system, and I suspect that some dreams might be shattered. Emotionally perplexed, reeling from this discovery, I asked Ford how she felt about potentially playing heartbreaker after having the Pale Elf rip out her heart and stomp on it. Intel refuses to recall its faulty 13th and 14th gen gaming CPUs

The saga of crashing 13th and 14th-gen Intel CPUs is continuing, as not only does it appear that Intel still hasn't actually fixed its faulty processors, but it is apparently also standing fast on not offering any sort of recall process for the chips. The latest development from Intel confirms the company's stance on customer service for its best gaming CPUs, which have been crashing regularly when playing games based on Unreal Engine 5 for months. Not only that, but there are also reports that CPUs affected by the problem will eventually fail, with one game developer outright saying that "Intel is selling defective CPUs." New Viking roguelike blends XCOM and TFT, and it’s out now on Steam

Steam is home to a lot of excellent Viking games. Between the polygonal survival of Valheim, dense playspaces of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and the combat-heavy leanings of God of War, we're spoilt for choice.  Raiders of Valhalla is different, though. With the unit management and stakes of XCOM, autobattler tendencies of Teamfight Tactics, and nail-biting choices of the best roguelikes, this party-based RPG is on Valve's platform right now. There's even a demo you can take for a spin, and I've been having a blast. AMD’s free new software could boost frame rates in thousands of games

AMD has just announced an update to its free, in-driver frame generation technology, AMD Fluid Motion Frames, that can bring frame rate boosts to thousands of games. AMD AFMF 2 includes across-the-board latency improvements, including superior image quality and several new ways to tweak the way the software works. If effective, AFMF 2 could go some way to making AMD's latest best graphics card contenders, such as the RX 7800 XT, even more tempting propositions, as it unlocks masses of extra performance across far more games than are currently supported by competing technologies. Fallout London dev promises patch for technical issues is in the works

Oi, mate, it’s the apocalypse innit? Sorry, I don’t know what came over me there, other than the beating British heart of Fallout: London is beginning to take over my mind. This colossal mod which verges on being an entirely new game has hit the world recently and like any good Fallout it’s got its fair share of problems. Those who can get past the technical issues are having the time of their lives but some are too big to ignore, and thankfully the mod’s developer isn’t overlooking them. Apex Legends battle pass U-turn fails to stop Steam review bombing

The last time Apex Legends popped up in the news it was related to an attempt to rework the game’s battle pass system. Unfortunately, that backfired with fans review bombing the game on Steam as a consequence of the unpopular changes. Now, we’re in the hitherto-unforeseen area of a second backfiring event, with a U-turn on the battle pass update being met not with relief but further negative reviews.
