In keeping with tradition, this Met Gala also boasted a specific theme; 2024’s theme was Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, while the dress code is centered around the concept of a Garden of Time. A ticket to the very first one in ’73 cost $85; today, one ticket costs $75,000. The sheer fabric was interrupted abruptly at various points on the lower half of the dress by sheer black swatches of fabric that feathered around Wang’s legs like great wings. Each was individually placed across the outfit, but especially around the chest, hips, and shoulders. After nearly a decade of dealing with breast cancer, talented actress Shannen Doherty passed away at the age of 53 on July 13. Although she spoke candidly about expecting the inevitable, Shannen’s death came as a tragic shock to fans and friends, including her co-star Holly Marie Combs.
