You Won’t Believe Who Made “The New York Times” List Of “Most Stylish People”

We can probably all agree that fashion is subjective. We all have different style preferences and what looks good on one person may not look great on everyone. There are certainly people in this world who are more daring than others when it comes to their wardrobe choices. While we may not always agree with what they choose, it’s hard not to consider them fashion style icons. Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Harry Styles, Beyonce, and Elton John come to mind. Each year, the New York Times names its most stylish people, and this year’s choices are interesting, to say the least. Hearing Chappel Roan, Ariana Grande, and Cynthia Erivo made the list, makes sense. But what would you say about The Seine River in France and Moo Deng, the pygmy hippopotamus? Some people think it’s downright crazy, while others enjoy a change. We have to believe the list left some fashionistas feeling snubbed. View this post on Instagram A post shared by New York Times Fashion & Style (@nytstyle) We’ve Seen A Lot Of Moo Deng in 2024 Born in Thailand in July 2024, Moo Deng became a popular internet fodder. Fans loved that she appeared so petite and demure, a sharp contrast to most other hippos. In response to her inclusion on the list, the Times wrote, “She bit. She screamed. She conquered hearts the world over.” Other big names on the list include Daniel Craig, Demi Moore, Christina Applegate, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Ayo Edebiri. Those were the more mainstream choices. Other less conventional additions included Moo Deng, the Seine river, and the New York Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant. The Time’s Instagram comments weren’t impressed. Someone wrote, “Who put this list together?! You’re fired!” This person agreed, “Are you serious?!!!!!” As did this one, “Is this a joke?” 2024 was a rough year for many people, but Moo Deng proves that we’d all like to be a hippopotamus for Christmas this year. Tyler Perry Has Secretly Been Supporting The Turpin Children For Years

Many know Tyler Perry for his famous character, Madea. She’s a no-nonsense granny who tells it like it is. That persona helped make Tyler a superstar. Along with that stardom came a substantial amount of wealth. He’s reportedly a billionaire, but Tyler doesn’t keep the riches all to himself. Instead, he’s incredibly generous with his money and helps those in need. Tyler Perry takes care of many people, including the Turpin children. Those who follow true crime may remember David and Louise Turpin and the 13 children they subjected to horrific abuse. After one of their daughters bravely escaped in 2018 and saved herself and her siblings, they became infamous. Their parents will spend the rest of their lives in jail, leaving their children helpless. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tyler Perry (@tylerperry) Tyler Perry Saw A Need And Helped The Turpin Family Tyler isn’t one to toot his own horn about his good deeds. Thankfully, he has good friends like Oprah Winfrey to do that for him. During the Paley Honors Fall Gala in Beverly Hills, California, Tyler was honored for his media achievements, People reported. Oprah decided to give a nod to her friend’s generosity. When the Turpin kids needed help, Tyler Perry jumped right in. “Tyler saw that special, and he reached out, and until this moment, no one has known that Tyler Perry has been taking care of those now almost grown children, making sure they have the financial, the psychological, and the emotional support to grow themselves forward,” Oprah said. She called her friend a “fixer” and a “healer,” in addition to being a renowned entertainer. The Turpin children didn’t know Tyler Perry, and he didn’t know them, but he saw a need and helped. Oprah remarked, “Most of his charity, no one ever sees or hears about. The majority of people watch the news and they think, ‘Oh, what a shame,’ [but] Tyler watches and says, ‘What can I do to make a change?'”  This story’s featured image is by Featureflash Photo Agency via Shutterstock. Taylor Swift’s Bass Player Pens An Emotional Open Letter As The Famed Eras Tour Comes To An End

We know that the end of the Eras Tour had to have been emotional for Taylor Swift. She’s poured her heart into the best-selling concert tour of all time and left her mark on the music industry. She’s the headliner, the solo performer, but she can’t do it alone. It took dozens of people to make her wildest dreams come true, and they were all impacted profoundly by the experience. Taylor Swift’s long-time bass guitars, Amos Heller, did not let the opportunity pass to thank Tay for taking him along on the most incredible ride. He shared a lengthy message of gratitude on Instagram. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Amos Heller (@amosjheller) Taylor Swift’s Bass Guitarist Has Been With Her For Years. Just as her career began, Amos began playing with Taylor 15 years ago. Amos shared a glimpse into life on tour with Taylor and his words touched many hearts. He wrote in part, “It’s done. No more early lobby calls. No more airports. No more lugging a suitcase and Mono bag up an escalator, through a line, out of baggage claim. No more warming up, no more cooling down. No more looking at my watch 20 times to make sure I don’t miss a call. No more saying goodbye to my family, no more ‘how many sleeps now?’ No more jet lag.” The bass guitarist added a sweet message just for Taylor Swit, “You command so much respect and admiration from everyone who’s fortunate enough to add their effort to yours. Your blend of focus, heart, stamina and joy calls forth the best of everyone around you. Thank you for trusting me with my part of your vision. It was the ride of a lifetime. I love you. Long live.” This fan summed it up nicely, “Congratulations! Beautiful words & heart. Go softly now, enjoy.” This story’s featured image is by Kevin Winter/TAS24/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management. NewsBusters Podcast: Let's Not Confuse Daniel Penny and Luigi Mangione

CNN sunk to a new low as NewsNight fill-in host Audie Cornish implied subway "vigilante" Daniel Penny was no different than Luigi Mangione, the alleged murderer of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson. "There you also have a victim who somebody determined did not deserve to continue living," as if Penny was an assassin. "Tell me which vigilante action is okay." Attorney Arthur Aidala objected: "Talk to people who ride the subway every day, because I do all the time. I do all the time. I can't find anyone who rides the subway who's unhappy about this verdict."  CNN analyst Scott Jennings also pushed back, sensibly suggesting that Penny was the good guy, and Mangione was the bad guy. "I'm just telling you what I see out in the world today," he said. On ABC's The View, Whoopi Goldberg was furious that Penny's team celebrated his win. “I don't know that seeing them celebrating in a bar made me comfortable, you know? I mean, you killed a guy. The man is dead, and maybe you just -- you take the celebration home.” Whoopi decried the verdict as a “failure on the part of the courts.” Co-host Sunny Hostin lashed out America and questioned the lack of “compassion.” “And so, when you look at that and look at the result of what happened, my question is where is our compassion?! As a society, where is our compassion?!...Where is our compassion as a society?!” These women have no compassion for terrified subway riders in New York. Last year, Hostin literally attacked them on ABC:  "Where was the humanity of anyone that was on that train?! I would have given him money! I would have tried to give him food! I would have tried to help!" As if Sunny the multi-millionaire would feel compelled to ride the subway... On her show, MSNBC host Joy Reid gleefully noted that people on the internet are not angry at the murder, and when she welcomed progressive author and radio host Thom Hartmann, wondered how such reactions could be made in the same country that just elected Donald Trump. For his part, Hartmann declared that the reason why America does not have a socialist healthcare system is because of racism. Enjoy the podcast below, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
