CBS Is Bothsidesing and Normalizing the Murder of a Healthcare CEO

The murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson continues to dominate the headlines. In the wake of the horrific shooting, the media have taken the left’s cue and begun to provide coverage that “bothsides” and normalizes murder. Watch as CBS’s “Eye on America”, under the guise of nuance, amplifies voices that justify acts of terror. Below is the report in its entirety, as aired on the CBS Evening News on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 (click “expand” to view transcript): CBS EVENING NEWS 12/11/24 6:51 PM NORAH O’DONNELL: The murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is prompting a polarized response, especially online. In tonight's "Eye on America," we look into the outpouring of anger, not directed at the shooter, but at the health insurance industry. Here is CBS's Mark Strassmann. SOCIAL MEDIA USER: It's very hard for me to be empathetic. MARK STRASSMANN: Free-floating outrage fuels this American moment. SOCIAL MEDIA USER: They are wolves who want to kill you for money. STRASSMANN: A targeted killing in midtown Manhattan. A hooded gunman. And thousands of online posts like "He's a hero" overwhelmingly side with a shooter. SOCIAL MEDIA USER: This guy is bringing the country together. STRASSMANN: In New York City, a hooded shooter look-alike contest brought cheap laughs. [Laughter] When shooting suspect Luigi Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania, online hot takes doubled down. SOCIAL MEDIA USER: Which one of you McDonald's employees ratted that guy out? STRASSMANN: The web's new hot sellers: “Free Luigi” shirts, “Deny, Defend, Depose” coffee mugs- delivery before Christmas. Seemingly forgotten: Brian Thompson, UnitedHealthcare CEO, murdered in cold blood. The 50-year-old husband and father of two sons was buried on Monday. But online voices see him only as the face of a half trillion dollar health conglomerate. In their eyes, the obstacle to affordable health care.  To many of these critics, it’s a business model built on refusing to pay for services. In 2023, UnitedHealthcare denied roughly 33% of all claims, the highest rate in the industry. The overall industry rate, 19%. YOLANDA WILSON: I understand the kind of cultural wash, the response that has kind of washed over a large segment of the population. STRASSMANN: Yolanda Wilson is a health care ethicist. In January, she needed a hysterectomy. This letter from UnitedHealthcare denied her claim, two days before her scheduled surgery. WILSON: I was surprised. It just kind of sent me into turmoil. STRASSMANN: Were you angry? WILSON: A little bit. STRASSMANN: Maybe more than a little bit?  WILSON: Probably more than a little bit. STRASSMANN: Her surgeon fought for her. The claim was approved. But in a world that’s often black-and-white, her take on the murdered executive has lots of gray.  You don't agree with the shooting. WILSON: I don't agree with the shooting. STRASSMANN: When it first happened, you weren't sad? WILSON: No. STRASSMANN: Were you sad for his family? WILSON: Yes. STRASSMANN: But you were also sad for all the people his company had denied? WILSON: Yes. KIM: The decisions are made by multiple people, not just by one person. STRASSMANN: We heard more nuance from customers at Pickles Deli in downtown St. Louis. Sure, lots of health insurance horror stories, including Kim. KIM: High premiums, high deductibles. STRASSMANN: High frustration. KIM: High frustration. STRASSMANN: But everyone we talked to here, like Gary Sims, repudiated the killing. GARY SIMS: I can empathize with the frustration that they may have with the insurance process, but that's no excuse whatsoever to gun that man down. STRASSMANN: In our recent round of elections, health care costs and companies got scant attention from politicians in both parties. Now, everyone's talking about it.  SOCIAL MEDIA USER: I don't feel bad for this guy. STRASSMANN: In voices like that, any hint of compassion for a murdered man and his family, denied. For "Eye on America," Mark Strassmann, in St. Louis. It is not clear what this report sought to accomplish beyond normalizing murder as a means of protesting against policies or institutions we do not like. Most of the voices featured in this report either celebrated or justified the murder. The report even amplified anger against the MdConald’s employee that identified the shooter and called law enforcement.  The interview with the “medical ethicist” sought to elicit empathy for her, given that UHC denied her procedure. She and Strassman then go into a whole thing about what she was sad or not sad about (the shooting itself). But her procedure was ultimately approved. And she is still allowed to go on, even after this bit of information is disclosed. There is one single sentence of outright repudiation airing in the report. Everything else is either “nuance” or people on social media cheering elements of the murder. Based on this report, it is clear what side of the story the media are on: the terrorist’s side. Compassion "denied", indeed.

Eau de Trump intoxicates Jill — but late-night losers still stink

Can someone check in on Rosie O’Donnell? The former host of “The View” isn’t taking President Donald Trump’s re-election well. She’s far from alone. At least the comedienne didn’t check herself into a facility a la Rob Reiner.Who wouldn’t want to be orphaned after watching your parents get gunned down by a common street thug? So much privilege!Although maybe that would have saved her from broadcasting her paranoid meltdown on TikTok.Her most recent post finds O’Donnell oversharing about a possible cold sore, complaining about MAGA members “taunting” her and looking much worse for the wear.Still, she's less painful to watch than the boorish Sunny Hostin — or anyone else on "The View."Colbert gets that not-so-fresh feelingEven an avowed Trump hater like O’Donnell must have smiled at the president-elect’s newest troll move.Trump shared news about a branded cologne product on Truth Social, using a recent photograph to help sell it.The image? A snapshot of first lady Jill Biden looking at Trump with a sort of adoration. The real estate mogul, never one to miss a marketing opportunity, used the photograph in a cheeky attempt to sell some product.Funny, funny stuff. Unless you’re a late-night talk show host, that is.Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Fallon all took turns swatting Trump for the hilarious move. Kimmel’s weak-tea response?“He had to use that picture because he doesn’t have a picture of his own wife smiling at him.”Colbert’s crack?“In response, Dr. Biden used the photo to sell her new line of pepper spray.”Slightly better, but still lame.Trump can do plenty of things, but we’d love it if he could make Late Night Great Again …Now please 'mansplain' why we should careBill Maher and actor Zachary Levi agreed to disagree ... a lot ... during their recent chat on the comedian’s “Club Random” podcast. Maher repeatedly lauded the “Shazam!” alum for his intelligence and demeanor, with both men clearly having a blast in the thoughtful exchange.Tell that to Laura Benanti. The Broadway actress, who mocks former and future first lady Melania Trump on “The Late Show,” slammed Levi on a recent podcast interview. She said everyone enjoys his company but not her.“'He’s so great!’ And I was like, ‘No, he’s not. He’s sucking up all the f***ing energy in this room. He wants to mansplain everybody’s part to them.'”Easy, Laura — we already love Zach. No need to hype him up even more ...Focker shockerJust when we thought the world was healing, we get an uppercut from Hollywood Inc.Yes, Trump’s Cabinet picks appear primed for Senate approval, Daniel Penny is a free man, and woke is on the run.But we still have another Fockers movie to endure.Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro will reportedly reunite for a fourth “Meet the Parents” film. The first movie proved delightful, with De Niro playing against his tough-guy screen shtick.By the time “Little Fockers” came around in 2010, we begged for the sweet release of death. Now, this ...Who's HughHugh Grant became a star thanks to witty turns in films like “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” The term “foppish” became glued to his brand, from his floppy do to his stammering shtick. At 64, Grant is no longer the British beau but a versatile, in-demand character actor. Last year, he played a puckish Oompa Loompa in “Wonka.” Now, he’s the dangerous neighbor putting two Mormon missionaries through their paces in “Heretic.”The film features blood, gore, and more, along with tricky conversations about faith. It’s hardly a tale to be shared at a post-church chat, but it gets the genre job done. And according to the Golden Globes, it falls smack in the middle of the comedy or musical category.Yes, the head-scratching awards group gave Grant a Best Actor, Comedy or Musical nomination. Somewhere, Pia Zadora is smiling ... Activate the bat (virtue) signal! We can’t get enough of Batman stories, but the scribe behind a new "Dark Knight" story thinks Bruce Wayne deserves a lecture on privilege. That’s liberal DC Comics writer Tom Taylor, who has the Man of Steel tut-tutting Wayne over his wealth and white skin in the new "Detective Comics #1091."Superman is right, of course. Who wouldn’t want to be orphaned after watching your parents get gunned down by a common street thug? So much privilege!Superman better watch out — this DEI nonsense has proved to be kryptonite to many an iconic brand.

Westminster Abbey seal bag matches Charlemagne’s burial shroud

Researchers have discovered that a small silk bag attached to a document at Westminster Abbey matches Charlemagne’s burial shroud. It is woven in a pattern of white hares and floral motifs and dates to the early 12th century. The textile was not the first shroud used in the burial of the first Holy Roman Emperor who died in 814, but rather the one that wrapped his body when his body was reinterred in the Karlsschrein, an ornate shrine decorated in gold, silver, enamel and gemstones, in Aachen Cathedral in 1215. The same textile was used in 1267 as a bag to protect the wax impression of the Great Seal of King Henry III on a document relating to Westminster Abbey’s shrine of Edward the Confessor. The cloth was sewn into a pouch to protect the wax impression of Henry III that the king had affixed to an inventory of items from Westminster Abbey’s shrine to Edward the Confessor that Henry had pawned to pay his war debts. In the document, the king promised to replace the jewels and precious objects he’d put in hock within 18 months. It seems he made good on this promissory note. Seal bags were used to cover the wax seal impressions that were affixed to charters and other documents to authenticate the identity of the signer. Wax impressions were soft, and as legal signatures of kings, queens, nobles, bishops and other august personages, they were not only legally important, but also inherently authentic relics. The signatories held those blobs of wax when they were still warm; they left physical impressions of themselves like fingerprints and oils alongside the impressions of their official seals. Because of their layered significance, the wax impressions were bagged for their protection, and the textiles used to make the bags were precious too, often panni tartarici (Islamic silks dyed with plants imported from as far away as China and woven with gold and silver threads). Charlemagne’s shrine was opened in 1988 and photos taken at that time documented the burial shroud. The shroud is intact, so the piece in Westminster Abbey was not cut from the wrap itself, but it had to have been made by the same weavers on the same looms. The sumptuous textile was created by specialty weavers in Islamic Spain or the eastern Mediterranean, and the pattern would not have been available from any other source; there were no knock-offs floating around or mass-produced inventory stacked in warehouses. As the textile that wrapped the body of an emperor who was venerated as a saint in the territories he once ruled (hence the translation of his bones into a reliquary by Emperor Frederick II), the silk held great significance. It may have even been deliberately chosen by Henry III to make an iconographic association between the well-established cult of the German king Charlemagne and the nascent cult of the English king Edward the Confessor. It remains a mystery about how the Abbey received such a piece of high value silk but a possible theory offered by Matthew Payne, Keeper of the Muniments, who oversees the Abbey’s archives, is that the silk could have been a gift from Henry III’s brother, Richard Earl of Cornwall who is known to have given precious cloths to the Abbey. Richard was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in 1257 which was over 400 years after his predecessor Charlemagne. The bag (and the document it is attached to) is on display at Westminster Abbey in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries through Easter 2025.

The truth is, there's a concerted effort to devastate the supply chain via plandemics, war, climate fearmongering and weather modification not to mention the already disruptive inflation. With this, they are now mass injecting cows, chickens and pigs with deadly chemicals and in many cases with mRNA or modRNA which will then end up on the shelves of your local grocery store putting your family's health in jeopardy. The eventual goal is a technocratic world order with digital ID and food rations based on social and carbon credit scores. Now, health emergencies are being declared over Marburg Virus in Africa as countless "virus vials" go missing in Australia from labs. They're trying this again.
