WATCH: Ex-Biden Lackey on CNBC: Ditch Oil and Coal to Fix Inflation

Heritage Foundation economist E. J. Antoni quickly set a former Biden official straight after she tried to promote spending on green energy as a solution to economic woes. During a July 12 segment on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Jennifer Harris, the director of the Hewlett Foundation’s Economy and Society Initiative, lauded massive government spending on “cleaner energy sources” as a potential cure for inflation. Notably, she previously served in the Biden Administration. Despite claiming her position was not for the government to “get woke on climate,” Harris said, “At least energy is—moving to a set of cleaner energy sources for the grid that, not for nothing, don't have the kind of inflationary channels that oil and gas do. We had a moment in the [Inflation Reduction Act] and in the other public investments that we’ve had, to sever some of these traditional channels for inflation.” CNBC anchor Joe Kernen didn’t seem impressed. He brought up the massive costs of switching energy sources, asking Antoni if the transition to beat inflation would be worth it.  Antoni offered a decisive “No.” He added, “Solar and wind may very well one day be our main source of energy but they simply can't today. They're net losers. And so if you look at things like the [Inflation Reduction Act] by the way, not only are they helping to strangle reliable sources of cheap energy like coal, oil and natural gas, but on top of that, they’re funneling more scarce resources into solar and wind, which, again, are net losers.” Harris had the chutzpah to offer this absurd cure immediately after CNBC host Melissa Lee brought up the IRA as an inflation driver. Antoni didn’t let this slide, digging into wasteful IRA spending.  Antoni called out the Biden administration for allocating $7.5 billion and then building just 7 charging stations in over two years. Antoni said, “Spending billions of dollars to build literally a handful, that’s not an exaggeration, a handful of EV charging stations.” Monthly inflation has averaged 5.4% under the Biden administration as the president signs massive spending bill after massive spending bill.  The Heritage Foundation economist took issue with Harris’s language before reminding CNBC viewers that the consequences of wild spending go beyond inflation: “What I do know is that the Fed's hands are tied here, because the government is spending trillions of dollars it doesn't have. I mean my goodness, look at the data we got yesterday for the treasury’s monthly statement for the month of June where we spent $140 billion just in interest on the debt. That’s not paying it down. That’s just the interest.” Conservatives are under attack! Contact ABC News at (818) 460-7477, CBS News at (212) 975-3247 and NBC News at (212) 664-6192 and demand they tell the truth about the Bidenomics disaster.

FLASHBACK: Media Blamed Talk Radio, GOP for Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995

After energetic talk over the weekend that no one should blame President Biden or the Democrats (or the media) for inspiring violence against President Trump and his supporters, we need to remind you of the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995, where the liberal media decided to accuse conservative talk radio for domestic terrorism that destroyed a federal building. "In a nation that has entertained and appalled itself for years with hot talk on the radio and the campaign trail, the inflamed rhetoric of the '90s is suddenly an unindicted co-conspirator in the blast." -- Time Senior Writer Richard Lacayo, May 8 issue. "Mr. Panetta, there's been a lot of anti-government rhetoric, it comes over talk radio, it comes from various quarters. Do you think that that somehow has led these people to commit this act, do they feed on that kind of rhetoric, and what impact do you think it's had?" -- CBS's Bob Schieffer, April 23 Face the Nation. "The bombing shows how dangerous it really is to inflame twisted minds with statements that suggest political opponents are enemies. For two years, Rush Limbaugh described this nation as `America held hostage' to the policies of the liberal Democrats, as if the duly elected President and Congress were equivalent to the regime in Tehran. I think there will be less tolerance and fewer cheers for that kind of rhetoric." -- Washington Post reporter David Broder in his April 25 column. On the April 25, 1995 Today, then-co-host Bryant Gumbel slimed the right, attributing culpability for the deaths of 168 people on April 19,1995:  The bombing in Oklahoma City has focused renewed attention on the rhetoric that's been coming from the right and those who cater to angry white men. While no one's suggesting that right-wing radio jocks approve of violence, the extent to which their approach fosters violence is being questioned by many observers, including the President of the United States.      Gumbel teased the segment this way, being very clear about his implications: “When we come back, we’ll discuss the possible link between political violence and the angry rhetoric of talk radio.”  The NBC host continued to heap blame on Limbaugh and others:  Right-wing talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh, Bob Grant, Oliver North, G. Gordon Liddy, Michael Reagan, and others take to the air every day with basically the same format: detail a problem, blame the government or a group, and invite invective from like-minded people. Never do most of the radio hosts encourage outright violence, but the extent to which their attitudes may embolden and encourage some extremists has clearly become an issue. Here’s what President Clinton said about talk radio: “They spread hate. They leave the impression that, by their very words, violence is acceptable.” Talking to guest Oliver North, Gumbel parroted the President's smears: “What did you think of the President’s remarks yesterday and his suggestion that the rhetoric on the radio may be encouraging a climate of violence?”  After playing an incendiary quote by G. Gordon Liddy, Gumbel attempted to hold North accountable. The then-talk radio host (and future NRA President) wasn’t having it:      OLIVER NORTH: Mr. Gumbel, you are not going to be asked to hold Dan Rather accountable for what he says or doesn’t say. And I’m not going to be held accountable for what other people say. I’m talking about my radio show and what I do on my show.  BRYANT GUMBEL: Understood. Understood. Considering Liddy’s comment, another radio host has told his listeners to get a gun and do something. Another urged armed revolution. I’m not holding you accountable. I am asking you if that’s justifiable on the airwaves?  NORTH: What I consider to be unjustifiable is the ad hominem attacks on radio talk shows or any other medium.  Even before the bombing, the Left's hatred of the conservative stars was intense:  "I have no doubt that if Rush Limbaugh or Pat Robertson or Ollie North ever got real power, there would be concentration camps and mass death." -- Radical poet Allen Ginsberg in The Progressive, August 1994. Donald Trump Jr. calls MSNBC reporter a 'clown' in heated confrontation at convention: 'Just get outta here!'

Donald Trump Jr. berated a reporter from MSNBC after he challenged him to answer a question about migrant family separations during his father's presidential term. Trump Jr. was standing with his brother, Eric Trump, and his wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle, when he was addressed by MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff. 'You couldn't wait with your lies and with your nonsense.'"I know immigration is important to him; I covered the family separation crisis closely. Will we continue to see policies like separating 5,000 children deliberately from their parents?" the reporter asked. "You mean the Obama administration?" Trump Jr. fired back. "You know, they didn't do that, sir. Will there be a second family separation policy?" Soboroff replied."It's M-S-D-N-C. So I expect nothing less from you. Clowns," Trump Jr. replied. "Even today, even 48 hours later, you couldn't wait," he continued. "You couldn't wait with your lies and with your nonsense. So just get outta here." Video of the altercation was posted to the social media account of the Republican National Committee. Prior to the argument, Trump Jr. defended his father's record to Soboroff."What is that change gonna look like?" asked Soboroff. "Your father as president, I think you would even say, was a divisive figure. What's it gonna look like in a second term?""I don't think he was a divisive figure at all; I think the media created divisiveness around him," Trump Jr. responded. "They lied about Russia, Russian collusion, they said he was a traitor, they went after him in every which way possible," he continued. "If the media actually starts being an honest broker, starts talking about the things that he did, the prosperity that he brought, the peace deals that he signed around the world, rather than the disaster that we're living right now, I think you'd do everyone in the country a big favor." Also on Monday the Trump campaign announced that the former president had picked Ohio Sen. J. D. Vance (R) as his vice presidential candidate. Like Blaze News? WATCH: Witness describes being IGNORED by police and Secret Service when he reported seeing the shooter climb the roof with a rifle

There are still plenty of questions that have yet to be answered regarding Trump’s near assassination. One of those questions involves why police allegedly ignored witnesses who reported seeing the armed shooter mount a rooftop near the rally. “I'm not going to go down conspiracy theory avenues right at this moment. I'm just presenting what has been shown to us so far,” says Dave Rubin, playing the clip of BBC’s shocking interview with a man who witnessed firsthand Thomas Matthew Crooks climb to the rooftop with a rifle. Witness Warned About Shooter & Was Ignored, Why? www.youtube.com “We noticed the guy ... bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us 50 feet away from us,” the witness, who was at a party just outside the Trump rally, told BBC’s Gary O'Donoghue. “We could clearly see him with a rifle,” he explained. “We're pointing at them. The police are down there running around on the ground. We're like, ‘Hey man, there's a guy on the roof with a rifle,’ and the police were like, ‘Huh? What?’... Like they didn't know what was going on.” “We’re like, ‘Hey, right here on the roof, we can see him from right here ... he's crawling,”’ he continued. “I'm standing there pointing at him for, you know, two-three minutes. Secret Service is looking at us from the top of the barn. I'm pointing at that roof just standing there ... and next thing you know, five shots ring out.” “We were telling the police; we were pointing at them for the Secret Service, who were looking at us from the top of the barn; they were looking at us the whole time,” the witness recounted. “How do you process what you’ve just seen?” O'Donoghue asked. “If I walked up close to there with anything that Secret Service considered a problem, I wouldn't be standing here talking to you right now, but I don't know why a guy — who we're standing there pointing out to police and Secret Service — is crawling up the roof,” he said, insinuating that he was perhaps intentionally ignored. He also expressed suspicion about the lack of Secret Service agents on every rooftop surrounding the rally. “My question is, there's only a few buildings around here. Why is Secret Service not on every building?” To see the full interview, watch the clip above. Biden finally grants RFK Jr. Secret Service protection — after denying him five times

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is finally getting Secret Service protection. Two days after a lone gunman came within inches of assassinating Donald Trump at campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that Kennedy will get Secret Service protection. 'Thank you to President Biden for granting me Secret Service protection.' "In light of this weekend's events, the president has directed me to work with the Secret Service to provide protection to Robert Kennedy Jr.," Mayorkas said from the White House. Mayorkas claimed that President Joe Biden directed him to grant RFK Jr. the protection "both prior to and after the events of this past weekend." — (@) For RFK Jr., security on the campaign trail is paramount — and personal. His father, Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated on the campaign trail in June 1968, and his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in November 1963. Despite that tragic history, the Biden administration denied granting RFK Jr. Secret Service protection at least five times, most recently in March. The Secret Service is legally required to protect "major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election," the agency explains on its website. Most third-party candidates never receive protection, but RFK Jr. is not your average independent candidate. Indeed, he consistently polls between 9% and 10% nationally — which is not insignificant — and his campaign rallies draw large crowds. The announcement came Monday shortly after Trump called on the Biden administration to protect RFK Jr. "In light of what is going on in the world today, I believe it is imperative that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receive Secret Service protection — immediately. Given the history of the Kennedy Family, this is the obvious right thing to do!" Trump said. One day earlier, a bipartisan group of congressmen vowed to boost security for Biden, Trump, and RFK Jr. For his part, RFK Jr. said that he is thankful for Biden's decision. "Thank you to President Biden for granting me Secret Service protection," he said in a statement. "And I am so grateful to Gavin deBecker & Associates for keeping me safe for the last 15 months of my Presidential campaign." — (@) The private security costs for RFK Jr.'s campaign amount to nearly $6 million, Gavin de Becker recently told Politico. New poll finds Trump beating Biden in 7 swing states

Results of a new poll published on Monday showed former President Donald Trump ahead of President Joe Biden in seven states considered to be swing states. The YouGov online poll had Trump winning by 7% in Arizona, 5% in Wisconsin, and by 4% in Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina. He is also beating Biden by 3% in Pennsylvania and 2% in Michigan. Trump improved in all of those states as compared to the same poll taken in March. The poll was taken in the days before the assassination attempt on Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania. While the poll was bad news for Democrats in the presidential election, they had other reasons to celebrate — their senatorial candidates in five of the same swing states were winning against their Republican competitors. In Arizona, Democrat Rueben Gallegos was beating Republican Kari Lake by 7%. In Michigan, Democrat Elissa Slotkin was beating Mike Rogers by 9%. In Nevada, the Democrat has a 7% margin over the Republican; in Pennsylvania, the Democrat is winning by 12%; and in Wisconsin the Democrat is winning by 7%, according to the poll. A previous poll showed that Trump got a significant bump in support after the disastrous debate performance from Biden at CNN. 47% of respondents to that poll said they would vote for Trump while only 41% said they would vote for Biden. Swing states are those whose electorates don't have a strong majority of either Democrats or Republicans and could decide the presidential race in the electoral college.Like Blaze News?
