“If Omar Barghouti achieves his goal of the destruction of Israel, will his master’s degree in philosophy from Tel Aviv University still be valid?”

It is unclear whether Barghouti considers an Israeli education legitimate, as he has described Israel as an illegitimate country. Omar Barghouti, a prominent spokesman for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, said recently that, if the movement achieves its goals, then the Jewish state will cease to exist. Psaki: ‘I’m Scared For Journalists’ After Trump Assassination Attempt

Former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who is now a leftist host on MSNBC, said over the weekend that people who are blaming Democrats and the media for the assassination attempt are increasing the risk of violence and that people “feel” scared. Psaki made the remarks during a Sunday appearance on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” with host Kristen Welker while talking about the fallout from the assassination attempt. “For anyone out there who has a platform who thinks the moment right now is to be political and attack the other party, you are feeding into the danger,” she said. “You are making it more likely there’s retaliation. I’m incredibly scared. I’m scared for journalists. I’m scared for people who have public platforms of all parties. And that’s how people should feel.” She said that people just need to just “take it day by day. That’s where he would be.” Speaking of President Joe Biden’s upcoming week, Psaki said: “I mean, he has a huge interview tomorrow. And the moment there is not to talk about the political path forward. It is to be a healer and to lower the rhetoric and the – and – and the – the tenor in the conversation in the country.” WATCH: WATCH: @jrpsaki says anyone being “political” after the attempted assassination of former President Trump is “feeding into the danger.” “I’m incredibly scared,” she says. pic.twitter.com/GhE0inl9C8 — Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) July 14, 2024

Trump Says Bullet Felt Like Mosquito Bite, Turning His Head Saved His Life: Bret Baier

Former President Trump spoke to Fox News’ Bret Baier on Sunday about the assassination attempt on his life at his Pennsylvania rally a day earlier, describing the moments during and just after the shooting. A gunman attempted to assassinate Trump from a nearby rooftop during Saturday’s rally, firing a bullet that grazed the former president’s ear before Secret Service evacuated him. Law enforcement returned fire immediately, killing the shooter. At least one rally-goer was killed and two others were wounded. Footage of the incident showed Trump ducking behind the podium before being escorted away by Secret Service with blood on his ear. He raised his fist in the air several times as he left. During a phone call with Baier, Trump said the bullet hitting his ear felt like “the biggest mosquito of his life,” according to the Fox News host. “We talked for about 15 minutes, and he said I could express some of the things he talked about,” Baier said. “He’s in really great spirits, he is on his way to Milwaukee … saying they’re not going to let the shooter affect any of his plans.” The Republican National Convention is set to begin Monday in Milwaukee. That’s because there’s this big graphic of immigration stats — about border security stats — and he wasn’t doing it in his speech at that moment. Like, it was ahead of time, and he called up the graphic early. And so he turned sideways to look at the big graphic on the side, which is why his head is turned as he’s looking that way,” Baier said. “And right at that moment, he gets what he calls the biggest mosquito of his lifetime, or a bumblebee that sort of feels like in his ear,” the Fox host said. “And he realizes, he looks at his hand, and it’s blood, and he goes down. He said it happened so quickly, and then the Secret Service jump on him, and they’re very strong.” During their phone call, Trump also referenced a picture taken by a New York Times photographer in which the gunman’s bullet is visible whizzing past Trump’s head, Baier said. “He’s amazed that it happened, he understands he’s blessed to be where he is today. In fact, the doctor he talked to said if that bullet was a quarter of an inch different position, he would not be talking to that doctor today,” Baier said. Trump told Baier he “really wanted to go back and say a couple of things” including letting the crowd know he was okay, but “the Secret Service had none of that,” Baier said. Baier said Trump also expressed that he plans to make “unity” a theme at the Republican National Convention. “He did talk about inviting Nikki Haley to speak and her accepting that as one of those things,” Baier said. Trump also “praised” President Joe Biden for calling him in the aftermath of the shooting, Trump calling it a “good conversation,” Baier said. “He’s worried about how things are going to develop in the country, but he said that he was really pleased with how the Secret Services acted and thinks that the convention is going to go on as scheduled,” Baier said. Trump has not spoken in public yet since the shooting, but he has released several statements on social media since the deadly incident. “Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” Trump said in a statement on Sunday. “We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness.”

GoFundMe for Trump Rally Shooting Victims Raises More Than $2 Million in 14 Hours

The Daily Caller News Foundation—The GoFundMe campaign raising money for victims of the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania, rally raised more than $2 million in 14 hours, according to the fundraising website. The fundraiser titled “Support For Butler PA Victims – President Trump Authorized” was started by Meredith O’Rourke, the Trump campaign’s national finance director. The campaign raised over $2.4 million by Sunday afternoon, surpassing the $1 million goal, according to the fundraising site. “President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” the description of the GoFundMe campaign said. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation.” Since the fundraiser started, over 25,000 people have donated, according to the site. Many celebrities have made large donations, with UFC president Dana White donating $50,000, musician Kid Rock donating $50,000, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy contributing $30,000, and Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro giving $15,000, according to the GoFundMe donation records. “President Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt…” https://t.co/jatBdwjp8N— Dan Scavino Jr.??? (@DanScavino) July 14, 2024 Former Buffalo volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore died at the rally protecting his family, according to a Facebook post by his family. The other two victims are 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver, who are both in stable condition, the Pennsylvania state police said in a statement Sunday. “He was a hero that shielded his daughters. His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable,” Dawn Comperatore Schafer, Corey Comperatore’s sister, said on Facebook. “My baby brother just turned 50 and had so much life left to experience. Hatred has no limits and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality.” Trump was shot on Saturday, sustaining a wound to his right ear and cheek. He is expected to make a recovery, according to Trump’s campaign. [The shooter] shot at Trump from “an elevated position” on top of a building approximately 400 feet away, according to The New York Times. The Secret Service neutralized the suspect immediately after Trump was struck. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. Tiny wine-serving windows in Florence? Count me in! (Video)

Florence, known for its rich history and vibrant culture, holds a unique and charming secret often overlooked by its many visitors. Nestled within the bustling streets are tiny windows, known locally as "wine windows" or "buchette del vino." These small openings in the walls of buildings have a fascinating historical significance, tracing back to the 17th century. The Pazzi Conspiracy: How A Florentine Family Failed And Was Banished Historic Wine Windows Reopen in Italy, What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Originally, these windows served as a practical solution for wine merchants, allowing them to sell their products directly to customers without the need for face-to-face interaction. This method not only streamlined sales but also minimized the risk of theft and evasion of taxes. The sounds of little bells, signaling the arrival of patrons, would echo around the vineyards, adding to the charm of the practice. Read moreRead Later
